Cant boot anymore

Hi folks, i'm looking for 2 days a way to solve my DHD problem:
It can't boot anymore. It pop up the "htc quietly brilliant" screen, play the boot sound and, start this step again, and again, and again...
So I'm googling a LOT about how to solve this, if exist a way to restore the original rom. Because i'm thinking that was the problem, my original rom is gone.
That happens when i try to install 3 softwares from appbrain, my device got freeze and i hit the power button to reset. So, after that, my device is gone.
So i came here, to ask you folks: There is a way to recover the original rom ? Without send to warranty (because it spend something like 1 month here).
I'm not a mobile hacker or something, i'm just trying to be happy with my device.

Perhaps try booting to the bootloader, by holding Power + Volume down button. From there, you should be able to do a factory reset, which may or may not fix your problem. Worth a shot at least, imo

And if it does not work when you do a factory reset, you can use a rom.zip from HTC RUU to restore your phone.
Now the important thing is to know which HTC rom you are running. If it is unbranded, 1.72.405.3 is a sure shot. Download the RUU.exe from Stock roms thread in android development subforum, and run it. When the window pops up, open run prompt, and type: "%TEMP%". Then search for rom.zip, copy it to your desktop, rename it to PD98IMG.zip and put it to your SD card (I hope that you have a card reader). Then just reboot to bootloader as tmh described, and watch the magic happen
Then if your phone is branded, you can still use the same technique to make PD98IMG.zip, but you have to get the RUU that matches your branding. There are lots of RUUs in android development subforum, just search.

Hope the advice the last guy gave helps , a factory re set may work fine and fix the issue. Iv had 3 dhd since the day of release , the second one I had wouldn't switch on, had it replaced by Vodafone . Not sure weather or not they will give you a new one . Hope u get it fixed

the different is just the radio version. just try flash one of them and see if that work.

WWE means World Wide English, which is an international release
Any one of those RUUs you linked is ok, as hedayat7 already said.

WWE is World wide English...so both are english Roms...try the RUU flash, it should work like a dream....

Sorry ask for your help again, but at Official thread (thread number 841207) for DHD files, both 1.72.405.3 links are broken.
So i search for another thread, and found another one, but when i run the .exe, it ask for a USB connection to device, so it appears wrong.
Could you gimme a hand to find the correct file?
PS: I can help with a web hosting to all correct files.

You probably found the correct RUU, now proceed to %TEMP% and copy rom.zip to desktop.
You can find RUUs here: http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
I am not completely sure if those zip files are actual rom.zips, you can check that. Open up the zip, and if it has a long list of hboot, system, android-info.txt etc, then it is rom.zip and you can just go ahead and rename it to PD98IMG.zip.

But i did that.
The "1.72.405.3" files at this URL are broken (Or need password to access it, because "You don't have permission to access" message pop up).
When i run the RRU i got two screens, first i must accept a advice, the second one ask if I have a USB connection to my device. Even when i proceed to next step, i got no .zip file on my %TEMP%.
Im lost because of that lol

Ok, then there is something wrong in the device itself. You have to send it to a service center.

i keep a little hope that i can restore my phone, so i found a possible solution:
OTA update.
At "showthread.php?t=667728&page=2", i found a guy with the same problem i think, here is the quote:

But when i choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip", i got INVALID OPERATION.
Someone have a tip for me about this?

You are welcome.
What happened was that after a reboot of the phone the phone started rebooting in the boot sequence, i.e. a boot loop.
I tried a lot of things and nothing worked.
Finally I suspected that the problem might be with the SD card. I had a backup, so I had no problem doing a factory reset.
Then I booted the phone without the SD card.
The phone booted fine.
That way I was certain that the problem was with the SD card.
I had 2 partitions on the SD card, an EXT3 part and the rest was a normal Fat part.
I could still read the card, so I made a backup of all the data on the card.
Then I reformatted the card using windows.
The phone booted fine with an empty, reformatted, SD card.
Since I use Apps 2 SD, I had to recreate the EXT3 partition.
If your rom does not use this, you do not have to do this.
After recreating the EXT partition, put back all files that I want on my SD card.
My advice would be to do a factory reset and after that boot the phone without the SD card.
If the phone boots, you know the problem is with the card.

- Factory reset
- Clear cache and userdata
- Boot without SD or/and SIM cards
- Reflash RUU WWE 1.72.405.3 Radio 26.04.02.17_M2
- Reflash RRU WWE 1.72.405.3 Radio 26.04.02.17_M2 SF
- erase all SD
One show was use OTA update.zip, but at this step i got "invalid operation"
SO, nothing works!

Yeah, there must be something wrong in your device itself, for example a motherboard fault. Send it back to HTC.

"US_TMO_SIGNED"
Is there a different ROM for each US carrier?
In other words, the Venue Pro appears to be sold in the US only as an unlocked device, but there is a version for AT&T bands and a version for T-Mobile bands. Is the ROM the same for both, so this would work for both?

So is this ROM the missing link we needed to hack the DVP or do we gain nothing lol

We need a full image dump and not a backup file. And yeah. This is likely the only way to hack the phone.

From what I saw, it's an .ffu file, which it's my understanding that this is a full firmware image.

I would need the link again to verify but last time it was a backup.

It's been sitting there for ages and I have went out to buy a omnia 7 but I really love the phone.... .... please keep me posted and tell me how to upload the image onto the phone so I have a working firmware again ^_^.

does anyone have the image file and can post it to a standard upload service (mediafire, fileserve, etc.). webseraph where did the link go?

I've got it saved on my computer at home, I can reupload it later tonight if people still need it by the time I get home. It came with a bunch of Eastern-language files, Chinese or Japanese I believe, old versions of x86 Zune software, old versions of x86 drivers, and the .ffu file.
Since I believe the .ffu is the ROM itself (hopefully not a backup, I don't know much about this stuff and my Dell Venue Pro that I decided to order is still with Fedex), I'll just upload that, and anything else can be sourced at a million other locations.

I updated my previous post, I've got no idea. The instructions weren't in English and I don't even have a WP7 device (yet). I believe it would involve using UpdateWP.exe though.

From my brief research into the matter, it appears that you can use Zune 4.7 with an older UpdateWP.exe with the following command:
UpdateWP.exe /ffu <filename>
Zune 4.7 and the older UpdateWP.exe are available all over so I didn't bother uploading those.
Machine translation of instruction file:
Brush process
Computer system XP SP3 (win7 system similar)
By folder order in 1234 to install
A: Click the folder to install the three files in 1 start
B: Download and install this zune4.7 me

Actually, can you upload the whole original .rar cause I can read chinese and want to flash my phone anyways cause its bricked so I just want to see if this will help and it looks like i need the whole package in order to do so ^^

The FFU works. It is 7704 and it is amazing how much Windows Phone 7 has advanced. Now the trick is to find a way to install an exploit before Mango that sets the interop unlock at every boot or something and then find a way to restore a backup. I am not really sure how the backup/restore process works. It did require me have the latest updates before restoring so it is possible it just restores non /windows files and folders. So if we can find something in the system that can provision the provxml files then we are golden. The problem is I have no idea what would do that in the system. If you dare to do what I just did, make sure you have a back up and a backup of that backup stored elsewhere as you never know if zune will delete your backup.

Please do a full backup of the bootloader! So we all can fix our device..!
The procedure is easy and you just take about 8 minutes..
You have to download this tool (for windows) http://www.roadkil.net/program.php?ProgramID=12
1- Download the tool "Roadkil's Disk Image"
2- Enter to pink screen (volume up and down, then power on)
3- Connect your phone to the computer through the backside usb port (its more safe)
4- Run the tool
5- Click on the "Store Image" tab.
6- In "Store Image to" click the combobox and choose "Physical Disk #" ("#" is a number) * If there are more than one "Physical Disk #", then you have to choose the one that is about 3.6gb.. This part is very important.. if you give us a backup from another disk, it will leave our phone unusable. *To be sure that that Physical Disk you choose is the Huawei u8800-51, You can run the tool again (because it has to refresh) without the phone connected, then check which disks are available. Then, close the tool again, connect the device (in pink screen), run the tool, and check what physical disk was added. But it will be about 3.6gb.
7- In "target file", save the file as "u8800.img" in a folder with more than 4gb of storage available.
*There is no risk for you, as it is just data copying, not writting. The risk is for us if you gave us a wrong file hehe..
*If you compress the "u8800.img" file into a "rar" file, the size will be about 700 mb, then please, upload the file into mediafire or some file hosting service.

*For the ones who do the restore from the file, they have to do something to get the "u8800.img" to work. I will post here what do they have to do before writing to the disk, so Don't restore until I explain it here, or it wont work! and you may have errors!

I have too U8800-51 (Impulse 4g) from USA. I bricked him after flash U8800 firmware. I rebuilt my U8800-51 in service center and flashed "U8800-51_dload Froyo Original" and my firmware was from U8800pro. And also changed my IMEI and stopped working 3G and GPS.
Before bricked I am backup my original IMEI with "ToolBox5iromV1.0.4.2.apk".
Today I restored my IMEI from my backup. With the IMEI restored RADIO module (№ 203022) and again began to work 3G and GPS. I am so happy now.
You can do it too:
1. Do the ROOT with "DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT_zergRush_busybox_su.zip".
2. Install "ToolBox5iromV1.0.4.2.apk".
3. Restored your IMEI or my IMEI (if you want) with original radio module of U8800-51 (Impulse 4G) AT&T.

I restored his IMEI backup and I don't get 3g

I'm not going to try, too dear to me repair my phone - $100
In RF and EU 3G - UMTS2100.
My Radio version changed from 203023 to 203022.
Working HSDPA, HSUPA. HSPA+ probably not works, but in RF not working HSPA+.
You can to try restore my IMEI, before backup your IMEI and if 3G not workingб you return back IMEI

Skipped, can you do a backup of your IMEI when running froyo. Ill restore it and see if I get 3G

Maybe the IMEI backup of Impulse will get 3g to work only in u8800pro 2.2 stock rom, not gingerbread.. someone should try that.

I really was glad to find this post, only to find that the link that may have originally worked only downloads a virus to your pc.
I really hope someone has a restore image that I could use. I am bricked until I find a working one.

then you're in a bit of a problem.....I was rooted and reverted back to 4.1 after I felt blowing my n7 with 4.2 up.
I don't know any other way apart from wiping it clean, which you could do by rooting it, which would save your apps + data
IF ANYBODY HAS BETTER KNOWLEDGE......PLEASE CHIME IN
This is what I did after I had the problem....root it, then backup all apps + data using titanium back up.....then copy the whole titanium backup folder to computer to save it all.....then reset back to 4.1.2, restore titanium backup, restore apps.....enjoy (and memo to self: if it ain't broken, don't fix it)
apart from rooting it I don't have any suggestions, sorry. wait for others if you want. Please note that this isn't a full proof method so I wouldn't like to be blamed for anything that goes wrong

4.2 hosed my N7 (FC's all over), I couldnt nandroid back, had to use the root kit and flash the 4.1.1 stock image (easy 10- minute fix). My SD was wiped so I suggest do a full back up of all your media before doing so.

Yea that tool kit really saved my butt a couple of times when I needed to back to stock android. I made sure to give a donation for the work he did.

If you've got Android 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich, then it sucks.
Ok, here is it=:
You need to have your device connected to the PC with a cable to follow this GUIDE.
For this you'll need a Cable which is still working without loose connection or so...
One end is a USB-Input like on USB-Stickers and the other end is MicroUSB and schould fit in your device.
Such a so-called „Micro-USB-Cable"
It is recommended to use an USB 2.0 input in order to avoid compatibility problems such as compatibillity problems with USB-3·0 or so. .... .

3.Download the Factory-Image of the Nexus 7 2012.
You cannot actually have the 2013-Version because the 2013-Version came out with 4.3 [Only-WiFi] and 4.3.1 on the Mobile 4G LTE-Version
IF you have got the only-WiFi-Version then take this link:https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=de#nakasijzo54k (Choose JZO54K 4.1.2, too bad, Google did exclude 4.1.0;4.1.1;4.20;4.2.1;4.4.1Kot49e E)
IF you've got the Cellular Nexus 7, then it is not possible because unfortionally the cellular version was launched with 4.2.0!

4. You need to launch this program and press Auto·Detect Device+Build OS or so...
If this does not detect your device, then try choosing Device (Nexus 7 2012 WLAN or WiFi so-called...) and your Android-Version Manually.
5.[Backup]
To do a Backup with a device with not unlocked bootloader, then choose „Android Backup"
Do not select the both tickable options (Shared data and SysApps+Data backup) or it won't work.
Choose a location to save the ADB-File and wait until the device is unlocked, then unlock the screen and optionally you can type a password to crypt your backup.
Then start and wait.
Here it's recommended to use newer versions of this program. 1.8.4 was stuck at 92.495 MB or so. 1.8.6 worked fine for me so 1.8.7 will work fine too!
If the progress has finished, then the program will show you a Window with detailled Information. I did even upload a screenshot of this and it is on the official Wug thread on Page 440. Link is ^^^^ûp!^^^^^wards.
If your device has got an Unlocked Bootloader then just choose „[Full NºAndroid°Backup /W/]" and done. Just root in the main menu and... done!

6.Go to the devices settings menu and tap on „Storage", then tap on ⁞ and choose the USB-Option. Enable MTP and go to the Devices storage with your Computer on Windows Explorer.
Choose all files and if it says that the time lenght is being „Calculated" then it'sa just counting files, stay patient and wait!

When even this finished then... well, you're ready, now you can Unlock the Bootloader!
I and my heart hate the factory data reset!
The only things that you can't actually be able of backing up are the Systen Settings, the Home Screen LayOut and the internal data of the System Apps.
Example:
Chrome History
Download History
YouTube Search History (if you've got an account, then online on your YouTube Account NOTHING will be changd!)
G·PlayStor Search History
(Google Drive Files will not be deleted from online!)
GMail Offline Sync (don't worry, anything still available online!
and etc.
Except of this, you'll actually loose Nothing!

After unlocking the bootloader you can finally root your device but this is not required for downgrading.
Now go to the Programs Home Screen and Load your Costum-ROM.
Use your about 256 MB big downloaded file for this.

Size:268.416.146 Bytes
Size on Disk Drive(r):268.419.072b.
Windows Explorer shows the file as 255MB; FireFox as 256 MB.
And now you're..... Done!!!!!!!! ( )C o n g r a t u l a t i o n s ! ! ! ! ! [/FONT]
If you want to Relock your bootloader:
A.OEM Stock
B.Follow stéps
C.Done.
If the Backup is smaller than the App Data would be, then i don't know if the file contents are compressed or not... WugFresh won't answer (anymore) because he's probably tired of my (loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong ( )) questions. I asked too much, my mistake. I asked if compressed or not... but still no answer there!
In this case read the official Nexus WugThrèad for more Important information.
I am doing the same steps but i downgrade from 4.4.2! This Colour for the Status-Bar Icon loox better than this!!!!!

[BackupTool] SM-G900P Backup Utility

I created this tool so you can backup the partitions for the Sprint Galaxy S5.
This is IMPORTANT because the tools available at the moment don't backup your data properly. Trust me you don't want to corrupt your modem and then don't have a backup to restore it as they are easily corrupted when you play with network locks.

And where does it store said backups? I clicked on the backup button before i had even connected the phone and it said it backed up everything, then after connecting the phone, it did the same exact thing, yet no files found anywhere.

This tool is an quick tool that I created that is an automated process that uses adb to connect to the phone and create a backup and save them to the PC. This is because the available tools did not backup the correct information or are partial backups that are useless. I didn't add a verification for to see if the phone is connected but can be added later on. The files are stored in the same folder as the exe.
Requirements: Usb Debugging enabled only.

Well thats odd because i have USB Debugging enabled and i dont find any files other than the ones i un-rar'd to the folder. I'll try again in the morning when im not half asleep. Thanks for the reply!

Still same results, i see commands being processed by the phone but they're all remove commands for the BIN's its supposed to have created, from the sdcard partition. Yet i still dont find these files in the STool folder or anywhere on my phone. That and it seems to backup/dump everything so quickly its hard to believe its writing to anything unless these partitions are SUPER small. Wonder if i need to flash back to a stock rom and try from there since i recently flashed over to RDDT fo play with the WiFi calling feature. I'll flash back to stock and see if that makes a difference.

I guys sorry for the confusion it appears that any way this is not the way to backup the data specially for the modem.
Samsung really lock this thing down and encrypted the partitions for nv ram and isolated them through hardware encrypted communicators.
i have found how to access those files i will let you know as soon as it is ready.
