It's incredible. On Incredikernel #19 ICS, undervolted -25, OC to 1.13, interactiveX governor it's smoother than butter, and gets better battery life than CM7 ever did for me. Only issue I've had is music scan not finding my music until a couple days of uptime; I think that's due to my ssslllooowww 1st gen 32GB microSD not being read quickly at all by the presumably less-than-final media scanner. Still, streaming music, I get by
I'd say it's ready to be daily for a lot of people right now, IMHO

Motorola atrix

Just tested out the atrix not a huge differnce bewteen the epic stock vs stock now I know it will be a lot better when devs get ahold of it but it was laggy because of blur made touchwiz look fast but still not a huge diffence against our epics
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Gotta be honest, that was hard to understand considering there were no commas nor periods.
It would be no surprise that the Atrix doesn't seem faster than the Epic. They both have hardware that the OS simply cannot tax. If there is a difference performance wise, it will be in games or stress programs. Even then, you probably won't see much of a difference in performance.
I think the only real world difference that would be substantial is if you are compiling on the phone(which I am sure there are developers that do, or would). Other than that, dual core or even a faster processor is going to be useless on these phone.

Buggy Cupcake 1.5 ROM

Enyo said:
I finally found a cupcake 1.5 SDK And actually, it boots. I'm shocked.
Its slow as fu**. The launcher is so old (if anyone knew of the gray launcher that you have to slide up (it was ditched in 2.1))
Even though, its old, I'm still going to release it. Its a look in the past and play around. I used jts GPS fix kernel and yea, GPS does not work (well its on 1.5 so nothing works anyway, remember the G1)
Ill release it soon. Its fun, slow, market is so old (black and white old) and won't update to the newest market.
I know its not necessary, but I wanted to port all versions of android to the fascinate. Who needs new? Why not flash back in time 2 years ago, cupcake was the biggest hit and phones like the moment (that had a arm v6 processor) were treated like dual core phones we have today. The G1 Also was high end back then with its
"Fastest processor (456MHz) in a mobile phone"
-Engadget
Or the moment had the
"Fastest phone ever" -Sprints Slogan.

I keep seeing all these teenage girls with Droids now and they're like, "what's the bfd? iphone and android have like, the same apps?" I just wish all these new adopters could see this version of Android and the app selection. They'd really appreciate how far the platform has come. I'm still blown away by gingerbread and i had crazy high expectations for ICS and it still blew me away. I will probably flash this just for nostalgia's sake. Thanks enyo!

Favorite Devs that moved on

Just wondering, for those of you that have been around for a while. Who were your favorite developers that moved on to a different device?
Mine is probably Calkulin, way ahead of the times and never really got the credit he deserved.
thoughts?
Stawberry_Yogurt was a great developer when i had my moto razr
Damage he was the best from my hero to the EVO best dev ever

Yeah that's true Koni moved to the iPhone. I have a couple favorite ones mostly from the WM days like Mighty Mike (he went iPhone also), Juicy, Herg62163, indagroove (don't know if he is still devving anymore but he is still around the Evo forums time to time), Whosdaman (had the sickest Manila 2D Diamond ROM for the Vogue), & there are a few others also.

Damageless & TrevE are on the 3D with Team Synergy, Calk I last seen was on the Photon with Yay 4 Juggs ( I almost got a Photon cuz of them 2), & Dec is over on the Epic making CM7 a reality for it
Evo 3D on Tapatalk
list can get pretty long if you want to add myn and virus too. Now that we have some really good (nostalgic / retro) sense ROMS rolling through, Netarchy is missed. Only kernels that could take a beating and last 2 days on one charge.

Best kernel for Epic 4G ICS?

Any idea? Stability + good battery?
I was using Legendary before, awesome battery life while at 1400Mhz all the time. It was amazing.
Anyone know which kernel I should use now?
YMMV but this was my battery today with the newest samurai kernel tanto
Sent From My Thugnificent SPH-D700 because its more than Magnificent
This being covered time and time again in many different posts over many different threads almost warrants no answer but ill give you one and here it is
try them all flash one per day till you find one that works for you the way you like it everyone uses their phone differently so no matter what you will get different results than i do or the next person that post on this
It's really up to you, try them out and see what you like the best. I've tried all 3 kernels currently out right now and they all work pretty good. The two I usually stick with are shadow kernel and the samurai kernel. Shadow kernel is nice and makes everything feel real snappy. You can overclock to 1400 mHz and the battery life for me is good. The newest shadow, tanto, overclocks to 1500 mHz and works with voodoo control. Haven't gotten the chance to really test battery since it just came out but so far it runs pretty good. Just test both of them out, you can always flash over another kernel.

Also close to stock kernels like aprosamurai's. He likes to keep his stockish with a few tweaks and some new fixes. Just my opinion of what works best on my phone. Others like earthbound's are too tweaked for me but his is really fast and bleeding edge. Bbelos's are also good.

I'm using shadow now and have used apro's too and they both worked great. You need to experiment with them, and you're going to have to tweak to get better battery life. I had several trying to constantly run and none of them were things I use a lot so they had to go. If I wanted super battery life I would have bought a flip phone and not a micromini laptop, and I wouldn't have such a joyful device to tinker with.

Stock is always going to be the best for wanting nothing but the simplicity.
Put it like this when i buy a car, i put bigger tires on my car for grip, and better handling. But i know i will loose some gas mileage but not alot.
I'll put a turbo and some internals into my engine to gain in power but will loose gas.
But if we can put bigger tires and a bigger turbo but still have the same gas results as stock, Then why not do it?
We all benefit in one area and thats why custom kernels are there for those who want options that stock doesn't provide.
Stock= Base Model
Custom = Fully Loaded
Simple as that. So everyone should try different kernels and then reply not saying oh this is the best. But say IMO i prefer this over that simply because of these reasons. Everyone will want a specific kernel because one may like different things about the different kernels

I'll tell you right now the official is not faster or smoother. Trust me I maintain both trees. More stable? Maybe cuz I don't push stuff to AOKP until I'm sure it works. It has nothing the glitched builds don't have.

Elements was an eclair rom which was a total rip off of superfrankenclean and kinda a joke The point was it makes as much sense to run regular aokp over m5 as it did there.

ohh, haha, sorry, I'm originally from the Motorola Droid X2 forums then got sick of Motorola and their lame ass policies so I decided I'd switch to a Samsung phone and honestly I can say I'm not upset about it. Motorola may have better build qualities, but that's not all that's important for me, I enjoy my fascinate and the openness of it.
Lol no problem. Fascinate has had ridiculous staying power due to the work of the excellent developers.
But seriously, glitched aokp is where its at. Frees up extra usable ram and lots of other goodies. Grab it off the exynos server in its thread in the dev forums.

yes the latest aokp b40/ms6 and aokp Jelly Bean have a in-call volume settings menu that allows you to adjust mic gain/volume across speakerphone/earpiece/headset. Set the speaker phone mic gain around 12-13 and that will get rid of the echo. I believe its set to 26 by default.
