Kazuni, how did you get "let's golf 3" working? All gameloft games say "device not compatiable"
Update: got gameloft games working by editing build.prop to say GT-P7500, best solution ever, change once and don't look back
ouch! good thing i found this topic.
one of the main reason i wanted to get this 7.7 was for entertainment and games
if my existing games, like 90% of all Gameloft tittles are not compatible then there's no point
waiting for their DEV team to release updates takes a long time, and that's from a legit customer that purchased their stuff with the right to complain to them
i know the reason why it says it's not compatible it's due the screen resolution
if we had some sort of hack to make the device switch to 800x480 only for games, and then switch back to normal resolution, then i'm sure we can make all those games work
editing the build.prop and rebooting the phone everytime for a game is too much of a hassle
I edited build.prop to say GT-P7500 for the tab 10.1" with 1280x800 resolution.
You don't need to change it every time. Change it once, then done. All other non gameloft games and apps still work perfectly
Check out Apps section for more info.
Asphalt 6 is working perfectly on my tab...I didn't root or change anything, just installed from market and ran it.

Same here with Asphalt 6 HD except no tilt steering with the accelermeter only touch steering with left thumb on a virtual steering wheel on the screen .
Riptide GP works great and has tilt steering!Great game!
Don't Buy.....EA's Need for Speed/Hot Pursuit as it keeps hanging up during 300mb download, after repeated tries on WiFi and of course it stalls past the 10 minute refund limit on the market. EA's online tech support sucks ass and said they can't give refund or know what's wrong.... so lost $7+ and a couple hours of my life dealing with EA tech.
I bought my new gt-P6810 last week and have had a nightmare trying to get games working. I was starting to think it was a hardware issue but after some searching on the internet I started to realise it was bigger than a bad batch.
I have managed to run most of the gameloft games but they are all tempremental in different degrees.
Dungeon Hunter 2 plays but for no apperent reason only about once every 4 attempts to run. As does need for speed 6. But neither crashes mid game like some games.
Angry birds as already said all 3 versions play fine no problems.
Riptide works fine as does
shine runner.
dungeon defenders second wave plays but crashes randomly at busy times during gameplay. This was leading my to suspect graphics harware problem / overheat?
I turned graphics setting down in options 1 notch and time till crash almost doubles again making wonder if a miss managed graphics driver or harware was to blame.
I was unaware when i purchased mine that it actually had the hong kong firmware and assumed i was buying a Uk market one (bought from Uk online store)
Most basic games that do not require harware graphics to a high degree seem to work in majority. But add 3d like in most gameloft games or those titles already mentioned and it all seems to go to hell.
Odd that the vector unit games riptide and shine runner seem to work fine. I was wondering if they use the open gl base rather than the other one favoured by gameloft and others.
Anyway thanks for the input so far im glad im not alone and I will update as i try new games.
Rekless racing 2 also works on Galaxy Tab 7.7... Anyone please keep sharing compatible games on galaxy tab 7.7

Any chance that tab7.7 could play those game...

Nova2 shadow gun and dungeon hunter are compatible with the p6800 you must buy it from gameloft web site and buy shadow gun from anfroid market
For the other gl games you must set the build to p7500 and after download them you must set chainfire 3d to:
Nvidia plugin for asphalt 6
Power vr plugin for 9mm(i know it is strange but only power vr give the rigth colors)
Nvidia plugin and lover textures resolution for backstab

Eodon Games released three games this week that we designed and tested on the Galaxy Tab 7
Got to check out Virustroids for sure, it's a winner.
I'm not able to post links just yet, so you'll have to do a quick search.
Our games are:
Virustroids
Biosweeper
Zombie Skeet
Apps and games for on a flight or road trip, that have good replay/reusability.
I'd like to see what keeps transformer users entertained for long periods of downtime with no possible internet.
So far I've got sentinel3, some roms and emulators, and a few books..
I'm not sure about long trips but I enjoy short bursts of:
- Flight Control
- Jelly Defense (though I'm stuck a few levels in and can't get past the one I'm on)
- Bunny Shooter
- Plasma Lamp
- and of course the Angry Birds trilogy
Super Stick Man Golf is pretty fun.
Angry birds its ok...
Galaxy on Fire 2 also is free and supports the Tegra GPU,
Plants vs Zombies pretty much killed 2 flights across Canada for me, still haven't beat all the mini-games yet.
If I were you I'd put some movies on it! Last long road trip I used my TF to watch movies and time passed pretty quickly.
Oh and GTA III will probably last you ages too!
Flick Golf
Homerun Battle 3d
Let's Golf 2
Pocket Racing
Shoot Bubble
Shoot the Apple
Uno
Also, I use "stumbleupon". Great way to kill some time when you have an internet connection.
Apperatus
Plants Vs Zombies
World Of Goo

My last flight(DC to Phoenix and back). I gave this crying kid(2 hour temper tantrum) my TF to watch Finding Nemo(THATS RIGHT!!!). He threw it on the ground....
zombie dash is a good one to waste time with
All of the above plus
poweramp
psx4droid
n64oid
gameboid
etc
Also puzzle games or games that make you think but not to hard like aporkalypse and the like
If you have a portable hardrive you can take every ps1 game you have and all youre n64 games with you and that for me would be over 100 hours game time
Sent from my tf running krakd warped an twisted 1544mhz Blades kernel
All that +
Can Knock-down 2
Fruit Ninja THD
JetCarStunts
Sprinkle
Speedx 3d
Osmos HD
For international flights I stick to the Kindle app...
For shooting:
GTA3
Plants Vs Zombies
If you like nice physics puzzles the following high rates games play really well
World of Goo
Where is my water
If you like stragegy games, little war game is another favorite with myself and kids.
my favorite tower defense is sentinel 3. ive played.... probably all of them. guns n glory is ok, much more micro management, unique twist on the game type.
we just got two new games from iOS though too, Osmos and Anomaly Warzone (tower offense) which are amazing, titles I bought for PC on steam. world of goo is in the same category, and an awesome game. those 3 are probably the best games out there right now. the attempts at shooters are lame imo.
I've been digging audio books on mine, tTorrent is an actual torrent client to download them right onto your tablet.
galaxy on fire 2 is pretty fun too, and has a story line
Refraction is one of the best puzzle games ever (till we get SpaceChem) and not too hard, think its free
moon chaser is fun for a one touch control game
emulators are awesome

how well ChainFire 3D performs ? Did you have any problem install it ? Does Chainfire 3d , fix market and can you buy from it , nvidia optimized games ? I don't want to sideload pirates games, i want to support developers... I am not a huge fan off silly shallow tablet gameplay that most of the games give you. Currently the only games i play on my tablet are few old adventure games from lucasart with scummvm ... day of the tentacle , Sam and max and full throttle
To answer your questions...
how well ChainFire 3D performs ?
Very well in my experience, the games I played feel like they're optimized for my device, but I can't confirm that it will be this way for EVERY game
Did you have any problem install it ?
Nope, I didn't have any problems but as always proceed at your own risk.
Does Chainfire 3d , fix market and can you buy from it , nvidia optimized games ?
They say that the paid version of Chainfire 3D will fix the market and allow you to download Nvidia optimized games, I can't confirm because I only have the free version of Chainfire 3D
I don't want to sideload pirates games, i want to support developers
You don't have to sideload pirated games, if you have more than one device with different processers you can download legally and copy to your Xoom 2 or Xyboard
... I am not a huge fan off silly shallow tablet gameplay that most of the games give you. Currently the only games i play on my tablet are few old adventure games from lucasart with scummvm ... day of the tentacle , Sam and max and full throttle
How did you get Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max, lol I want!
Obviously the games are nothing like my xbox lol but Modern Combat 3 is pretty awesome lol good for travel and when i'm away from my console.

Search for scummvm in the market. Is the emulator that help you play lots of old adventures from various developers. I am a huge fun of those games and i have a huge collection with most adventures games released between 1985 - 2000 . Few of them are now free . You need original files of the games to load them in your tablet ... You can ''find'' most of abandonware games in the internet but if this legal or not is at least questionable

Yes THD is only for Tegra devices, wouldn't work on the Xoom 2 because its an TI OMAP chip!
But by the way, I have the regular Fruit ninja working without any problems and no lag!
Same problem with fruit ninja here on a Xoom2 ME (MZ607), big ach are you on 3.2 or 3.2.2?
Well, guess I spoke too soon, I had to try fruit ninja right now, just to check, and yes I did notice that there actually is a minor lag every now and then, but nothing unbearable.
I'm on 3.2.2

Seems like a strange thread, the Xyboard is a pretty standard Honeycomb tablet that should run just about any game that other tablets run?

In theory yes... But not all honeycomb apps are created equal, considering, most most honeycomb tablets run on the NVIDIA Tegra processors, and the Xyboard runs on a Texas Instruments Processor.

So, I've installed yesterday a bunch of games from gameloft as a easter present to myselft :
Asphalt 6 - not working : fc's on start. I've sent a report to gameloft about a fix/refund. Will see what happens.
Modern Combat 3 - it works a bit of lag but playable.
Modern Combat 2 - works like a charm.
9mm - works ok,just a few minutes of play.
I really hope to see an update in compatibility for asphalt 6.

I bought asphalt through google.play.
I will try later through gameloft site.
MC3 appeared as a in-game-commercial in the download files window of asphalt.
I clicked it, gameloft web site appeared and bought it.
I checked again, MC3 doesn't appear on google play or gameloft for my tablet.
Weird.

Sorry to hear that
Gameloft's site is all weird and stuff. Not very functional. See my problem with asphalt6. They have all kind of stupid bugs complaints over at the gameloft forum.
They'll probably fix the bugs and MC3 will find it's way to google play and their site.
I only received 2 in-game-ads : some Shrek crappy car game with a bundle hd free game(****ty I presume) and the MC3.
Probably a glitch in their in-game-ads as I can't find MC3 on google play/gameloft site as being compatible with my xoom2.
For the moment I'm working my way up in MC2
PS: my brother installed on his xoom2 a hacked/cracked version of mc3 compatible with samsung galaxy tab which works better than my xoom2 original version .
I wanted to bust hist head for not paying 24 RON for the game.
Oh well, atleast I still have my warranty

Yes, I do have a cracked version of MC3 working on my xyboard with chainfire because it was intended for Tegra 2 devices, but I always like to support the developers so I wanted to buy an official copy.
What's weird is that the game is available for my Atrix 2 which has the same TI processor as the Xyboard so I was debating of buying it on my phone and trying to sideload it to my tablet, but the resolutions are obviously different so it may not work.

Hi there just a discussion thread to see what peoples favourite games are! Please list what you think is good and bad about them
Personally some of my favourites are-
NOVA 3 good because its one of the best FPS runs quite smoothly for me has its bugs buts its a gameloft game so iy will eg sometimes will run forward randomly and cant get into 4x4 have to restart check point and for some reason when im inthe 4x4 I cant movr the gun
GTA 3 says it all really not buggy somtimes lagsfor a seond but other than that flawles
FIFA 12- I love football so I may be biased was pretty laggy until I installed dixperia 2 and v6 supercharger noe it runs perfectly
Modern combat 3 - great gameplay and runs well but very buggy controls often stick and force closes when the controls stick but love it when it runs properly
Others that nearly made it- wild blood and bards tale
So please tell me your favourites so I can add them to my collection!
Xperia Play-
Dixperia 2
V6 Supercharger

Yep -emulators for me as well -my gnex has a bigger screen and better guts for touch games but it can't hold a candle to the console goodness that the xplay offers

The only decent GameLoft game is Asphalt in my opinion.
Maybe their Golf game too, but I prefer Tiger Woods.
The rest of them are all just inferior rip offs of A+ titles on consoles.
Plus, their store sucks...can I even re-download my games that I bought off them!?

I'm running CM 10.1 on my Nook HD+, and just finished watching the last 9 races of the America's Cup on it (using the official America's Cup app from Google Play store). No problems at all, looked great. Watched a number of HD videos that I'd downloaded (e.g., Harvard Science and Cooking lectures). Fine all around, screen resolution is fantastic.
Not a big gamer, but have been playing Where's My Water (after watching my daughter play it) and a version of the old favorite Tetris. Again, graphics are fine, no lag issues.
I think you'll be very happy.

I bought one (hd+) about 3 months ago, and have been using CM10.2-sdcard as daily driver for about a couple of weeks. Reasonably fast for Netflix, Hulu-plus, Adobe Reader (PDFs with heavy graphics). Not sure about games. Not laggy at all for videos.
I have a Nook HD+ at my home, I gave it to my father. He lets my younger brother play with it all the time; playing various Google Play games, Nintendo 3DS ROMs and so much more. It's rarely ever used for reading at my home, other than when web browsing.
I would completely recommend a Nook HD+ for your entertainment purposes. It plays 1080p video files (.avi, .mp4 and .mkv are all what I've tested) perfectly fine using MX Player. Games work on it perfectly too, however, don't expect too many games to be compatible or expect to play the latest high-end graphical games. The three reasons for this is, firstly, the graphics performance of the tablet is not the greatest, but then again we can't expect it to be at a bargain price. Secondly the dual-core processor can't push as much as today's quad-cores can, and finally; many games and apps don't support the full 1080p resolution of the tablet (i.e. Sims FreePlay and other similar apps only support 720p or lower resolution screens). Of course, the last factor plays a major role but more apps are starting to support the higher resolution.
Games are compatible however, and you have a large selection on the Google Play store. The Nook should be able to run Hill Climb Racing, granted the game supports the 1080p resolution. If it does, the Nook will eat the game for breakfast. The games I've run on the tablet which was slow/laggy are Asphalt 7 and 8. FIFA 14 seems to run decent though.
Once you do open your Nook, remember to install CyanogenMod 10.1 stable (not nightly), of course by then we could have CM10.2 or even later. I used the Nook before the 2.0.10 update, and it was not worth having (no apps/games were installable, nor did Google Play come as standard). Once CyanogenMod was installed, it was a full fledged tablet, competing against the likes of the Nexus 7. Of course, with the 2.0.10 update, the Nook can now download Google Play apps. For the sake of Android, I would still recommend CyanogenMod however.
Once you install CyanogenMod, which is an easy process, you'll love your tablet. It should completely satisfy your entertainment needs.
I hope you enjoy it, and an early Merry Christmas.

I read there are apps that make the games run at 720p so if they cant run 1080p it will be smoother

Heavy 3D suffers a bit at the high resolution of the HD+, but general GUI and video always seem smooth to me.

That app creates instability and can create boot issues. Not worth it IMO, but already "took" my $2. This function is more suitable at kernel level and part of settings. Best IMO to avoid.
It is also a battery sucking mess in sleep mode. The app must constantly poll the chipset.

It is not as much the app as how it changes the resolution that is standard for all.
