[Q] Nandroid backup for ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0037_0075_US_CWR - Thinkpad Tablet General

Does anyone happen to have a nandroid backup for ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0037_0075_US?

I'm confused - your thread title requests a different backup than the message.
I may have the 0075 in my backups, I'll look and see.

Wow just noticed that I did that. I'm looking for the 0075 nandroid backup. MANY thanks in advance if you happen to have one.

Dwilli40,
Factory reset 0075 US rooted Nandroid -- built it for you last night.

cool ker2gsr! Happy to help. I was thinking about building another nandroid of 0075 without Lenovo bloatware. I'm guessing both types of backups might be useful in the long run.
Dwilli40 - could you edit the thread title to reflect your request for 0075? It may help others to find a solution if they are in similar straights.

Thank you very much pwstein. I have edit the title as you guys requested.

pwstein,
Thank you so much for this Nandroid backup!
This is exactly what I need to get my TPT back to being able to run encryption.
My current ROM has been updated to 0089_US.
Are there any issues I should be aware of in using this Nandroid backup to roll back to 0075?
Please advise me accordingly.
Thanks!
Konker

Konker,
No issues to speak of. It is a factory reset, booted through startup without wifi, no account info provided, Lenovo standard bloatware, and no customization. SuperUser is already installed and active. The backup folder was renamed and then added to a zip file.
My tablet has a Gobi3000 wwan card installed, otherwise a standard 1838 with 32gb storage.
I hope it helps anyone who didn't get a backup made before upgrading.
Unzip file to sd-card /clockworkmod/backup/
Put sd-card in tablet
Shut down, boot to CWR, (make your own backup), restore to 0075
Enjoy

I keep getting a MD5 checksum error. I have tried to re-downloading several times but still getting the error. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Try from the uploads I put on everyrandom.com today. The previously linked one was uploaded (550MB) on 3G cell service, likely screwing it up somehow.
edit: everyrandom.com/files wasn't serving the files correctly. They have been removed.
See thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566508

I was also so I installed the second CWM version about half way through that thread, and the restore went smooth.

Whoa, I just realized I never installed the improved CWR port. Mine is the original CWR that was offered up on the first day of Root. I should remember that because I ALWAYS pull my SD-Card out before performing factory resets. I heard the CWR update fixed that...
I'll note that in my Nandroid post. Thanks for the heads up.

I figured out what was going on. I guess when I extracted the files, it put the files in a sub folder with the name as the original folder.
I tried to download from the other post also, but it was like the files had been removed from the site.

Where can I find the supposed updated CWM port? I cannot find it in this thread nor anywhere related to the TPT.
Please advise me.
Thanks!

I fixed it to a direct download link for the no bloat nandroid.

I updated the CWM on my TPT with this version & I discovered that the recovery console is not as stable.
No long after I reboot into CWM recovery, perhaps about 10 secs, my TPT rebooted itself.
Has anyone observed this behavior?
I'm going to try download again & see how it goes.

[REQ] Nandroid Restore Zip

I have perm root with S OFF but have come in to quite a problem. I am having problems with the screen flickering on and off and need to exchange the device. The problem is, the nandroid backup that I made is inaccessible, and I have removed most of the stock apps off the phone.
The SD card I created the backup on seems to be corrupt, I cant even get it to mount anymore on my PC. Is there anyone that created a full nandroid back that can point me to the file (be willing to share)?
I have searched everywhere and can't seem to locate one.
Thanks for the help!
why don't you just use the "Downgrade ROM and Radio from OTA to Stock" thread?
Edit: Oh, and this is the wrong place for your thread also. Prob should go in general or Q&A.
The downgrade rom won't work w/ S-Off I don't believe. I would also a appriciate a nand backup, just the system.img if anyone has one to share.

Also, the OTA update will not be received again if you do the downgrade.

Are you asking for a NAND backup of the 2.2.1 stock rom?
If so, I'll see if I can't make one for you tonight when I get home. My work's internet connection is pretty crappy and it would take forever and a day to upload.

Take a look at this thread. It has the link to the official RUU and the install instructions.
This should get you back to stock, although I have not tried it yet. I grabbed it just in case I would need it.

And as mentioned in that thread, nobody who has followed that process has received the OTA update after having reverted back to stock.

unremarked - If you could upload the NAND backup that would be great. Thanks in advance!
As you should know if he's returning his phone he doesn't need to receive the OTA anymore. Just follow that thread. I had a rooted white one restored and took it back to get a black one. That's much easier then trying to use someone else's backup.

He said he was returning the phone, so receiving the OTA is not really necessary.
Those instructions explain how to get it back to stock, as requested.
OEM stock is 2.2. Post first OTA update is 2.2.1
I would not mind getting a hold of that, as it would make it easier to possible get the 2nd OTA (about which I have read nothing about what it does).
Also wondering if anyone has lost root and rerooted after the 2nd update.
So I am absolutely fail.
On my first device, I guess I had just froze the bloatware apps rather than deleted them because they were restored after a factory reset before I returned it to the store.
On this one, I actually deleted the bloatware apps and they are permanently gone, factory reset doesn't bring them back, and I didn't do a Titanium backup until after I had deleted them off. ><

ICS nandroid or System dump

Can someone dump a stock system or stock nandroid backup of their US device. I think i changed my busybox and failed to make a backup of it. I will probably need this in the future to upgrade.
Or can anyone tell me which file in the updates i can pull out the original busybox for ICS? Because i know the original before ICS was A310_02_0039_0086_US
But there is a patch in A310_03_0069_0130_US i am not sure what to do with busybox.p
Any advise?
I too would like a nandroid ICS backup, mine got wiped some how.
There is a US ICS nandroid available here:

Should be, but you'll have to download Superuser and OTA Rootkeeper (and run 'em) from Play store to bring it back.

Hey Madamada31 - YOU can confirm it. That's what is great about these community forums. Nobody 'made' an ICS nandroid for US TPT that I know of, except me. I took some time out of my day (back then) to make the backup. I took time to upload the file to my dropbox (after already posting it on everyrandom.com) and posted the link to threads requesting it. I can't help any longer as I don't have a TPT (in repair). Time for someone else, eh?
What I can tell you is that when I booted my TPT after the Nandroid was created, I was in a fresh install of ICS and I had (backed up) root. I needed to dl superuser and OTA Rootkeeper to restore it.
Jump in and tell us all how the water is!
Hello pwstein,
Thanks for your backup. I've tried but not working for me (maybe because my tablet is a WE version).
But I know it takes time to backup, factory reset, backup again and restore previous backup.
Try your backup takes less time then you to make it.
So thanks
I keep getting a MD5 mismatch when trying to use this. I've used it before and was fine. I wiped everything, fix permissions and got that every time. Going to try a few more things and hopefully I can get this to work. Thanks for the upload.
EDIT: I figured it out, I did something dumb.

cwm recover not recognizing restore files

I recently rooted my phone and tried a few different roms. I'm currently on cyanogen mod 10.2. I used cwm to backup my original ROM. I copied the backup file to my computer and uploaded it to my dropbox. I formatted my SD card since it had a lot of junk on it. I copies them back and now they aren't being recognized. This is my original stock ROM and since this is my first time rooting I really want to keep a stock ROM on hand for easy access incase I mess something up and need my phone to work properly. Thanks for any help. Its also a Samsung s4 i337m from fido.
can you see the backup and it's just not letting you restore it or can you not see the backup at all?
i'll tell you to keep researching and troubleshooting but if all else fails, odin back to stock, reroot, install cwm and make a new stock backup again.
Its not appearing in cwm at all unless i have a restore that was on it post format and not copied off the computer. Like if I make a backup of my current ROM the stock one will appear and just hang in checking md5. If there are no backups other than the original stock one it isn't being recognized. Also it worked before I formatteebthe SD card.
when you formatted the card and then replaced the cwm backup, where did you place the backup?
for example: 0/clockworkmod/backup, /clockworkmod/backup, etc.
if you make a backup now, where does it save the new one?
i'm just running through the bases here.
Sorry I don't know the exact locatiotion but I just dragged and dropped the "Clockworkmod" That cwm created when I made my first restore to my PC. Formatted the SD card and just dragged and dropped it back to the SD card. The new restore saves in the same folder also.
i'm assuming they're both in something like sdcard1, extSdCard or external_sd /clockworkmod/backup.
if so, and you didnt change cwm versions (i.e. from 6.0.3.6 to 6.0.4.4), then something may have been corrupted when moving the backup folder back and forth.
Yes that seems about right. I didn't change anything on cwm, unless my ROMs did. If it is corrupted will it just hang indefinitely or is there a chance it can work? And is there any other way to do a restore?
i'm no recovery expert but if your backup is corrupt than i dont imagine there's a fix for it.
i accidentally deleted my stock backup a couple phones ago. in order to have a fully stock backup on the sd card again (in the event i needed/wanted to restore to the original factory setup), i had to odin back to the stock firmware and start over.
Do you know any good guides on how to do that?

[ROOT/RECOVERY] Root and CWM for the Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ (b8080-h)

I'd appreciate help porting CWM and Cyanogenmod! Please post, fork, request merges etc...
I've managed to compile CWM for the Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+
My repository is here: https://github.com/zyrill/android_device_lenovo_b8080h
And the CWM recovery image is attached. Use towelroot by geohot to root your tablet.
Before attempting to flash, you should:
make sure you know what you're doing!
double check that you're flashing the right partition!
If you flash the wrong partition, you'll brick your tablet!
You can check your partition layout with
Code:
$ ls -al /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/
Once rooted, you can flash the image as follows:
Code:
$ adb push recovery.img /storage/sdcard0/recovery.img
$ adb shell
$ dd if=/storage/sdcard0/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21
Enjoy!
Changelog:
v 0.1: Initial version. Known issue: can't yet mount /sdcard and external cards
v 0.2: Backup is operative! Known issues: no option to backup to external storage, no option to skip backing up of external storage, date is not set correctly

I tried the CWM recovery, and it didn't work for me. (Wifi-only HD+)
flashing worked fine, and I was able to boot into CWM
tried to run a backup, the display stopped changing at (quoting from memory here) "backing up sd-ext" - I have no ext-partition on my sdcard (64GB)...
1st try, switched off after ca. 2 hours: a folder clockworkmod\backup was created on the sdcard, but was empty
2nd try: let it run overnight until the battery ran out. Result: corrupted filesystem on the sdcard, had to re-install from scratch.
Does anybody have the original recovery.img for me to flash it back?

I may have a little premature in my enthusiasm. My backup included a full copy of my SD card which nearly filled the remaining internal memory. I never did try to restore the backup so I can't guarantee that it would work correctly.
I've started the process of compiling a version of CWM for the WiFi only version but I'm new to the whole process and it will take me a while to begin to figure it out.
Unfortunately I wasn't careful and never extracted the stock recovery before I flashed this version. I was double stupid and never tried to capture the ota to 4.4. I suppose you could do a factory reset and start over. Sucks I know.

CM 11 would be great
Thanks for your attention to our HD+ tablets. I have B8080-F. Lenovo seems to be pretty slow in bringing new Android versions to this new tablet. It would be great to have CM 11 builds for this device. I have a Samsung Tab 2 7.0 that got new life after I installed CM 11 4.4.4..Just my encouragement to you folks who know how to build CM for the HD+.
Edit:
4.4.2 firmware have WiFi problems, problems with some apps like weather and so on. I went back to 4.3
Can anybody confirm the issues with the backup/restore process? It seemed to work fine for me. Maybe the exact steps to reproduce the mistaken behaviour will help us fix it. Also, I have the original recovery image, is it still needed?
Regarding CWM: I've just finished my PhD and am looking for a job. As soon as that's settled, I'll have time to work on other projects such as CM for our tablet. But in the meantime, if anybody makes any headway, simply issue a pull request and I'll include your work in our repository so everybody can benefit.
Cheers!

thx, zyrill.
Well what cam I say, booted into recovery, chose backup/restore - backup and after a few messages the process seemingly stopped with "backing up /sd-ext" on the screen.
No ext-partition existed on the external sdcard, and there were about 10GB free on the internal and 27GB on the external, so wherever CMW tries to store it's files, I hope there was ample room.
I'd still very much appreciate the original recovery.img before I do any more experiments (it's the wife's tablet, after all

TWRP Not Restoring All Apps When I Do a Restore from Backup (H910)

Hi everyone.
I'm not sure if this is the right subforum to ask, so I apologize if I should have posted this elsewhere.
This is for the unlocked LG V20 H910.
I flashed TWRP using the Dirty Santa method. I did it a couple of times with version 3.0.2-1, and a couple of times the version from 10-8-2018 (it doesn't show which version it is on the file itself). In both cases, when I've tried to restore backups, many apps disappear and are no longer installed. I've tried it on 10r, 20h, and Super Rom 8.3.18. This happened with apps which I restored with Titanium Backup; ones I've restored from apks; and ones I've downloaded from Google Play. It also happened with and without being rooted. I did it all those different ways on each rom which was installed.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for it?
Thanks for any help
are you sure already check the DATA?
(image attached is just an ilustration, its not screenshot of my twrp)

try to check where TB put when restoring apk. maybe TB put on ext-sd so it not included when you creating NAND backup from TWRP. as far as i know, making NAND backup from twrp is just backing up the apk that installed or stored on internal storage. CMIIW

Yeah, I checked it. The only thing I didn't check was one option which is in beta mode and requires 50 gigs of free space. But everything else was checked. The 10r backups were around 15 gigs, and the Super Rom ones were around 13 gigs.

That's why I tried different ways of installing it. I was worried that some got in my SD card after the first time I noticed apps weren't restored, but I tried reinstalling and backing up without the SD card and the same thing happened.
Im wondering if they're being backed up but not restored for some reason?
Thank you for your responses!

Did you install Zacharee1's Mod Control App or install of Lu**y P****r with certain switches checked? These caused those issues for me before upon restore.
You might want to edit your post as it contains the app whose name can never be spoken on xda
