[q]bricked x8..? - XPERIA X8 General

Hey guys, i Unplugged My X8 by mistake in b/w an update. .Now the Sony PC Companion Doesnt even Recognize My Device..?? Plz Help in serious Trouble..??

Not quite. Consider it a learning opportunity. Read this thread
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986697
Then further down along the development section of the forum, read about recovering from a "bricked" scenario back to a fully functional phone. Don't be scared of the "search" button. Or Google.
EDIT: You will have to download both the flashtool & a Stock firmware (preferably the Froyo ROM). You can get that from http://db.tt/oZZPbA43

You have unlocked bootloader?

thx in advance
Dario
Hook up the phone to the pc to the sonu ericsson software called seus. Hit the repair option.
If that doesnt work, try flashtool which is a pc program too which is in the x10 android development section. There r howto guides in there if u dont know how to use it. Flash the firmware with the baseband u want for the compatible ROMS want to run on the phone.
After thay u have to reroot the phone. Sorry about this but u gotta start over.

I'm going to copy and paste this reply to everyone who messes up their phone with a custom kernel. We are going to get LOTS of these kind of threads soon...
There are already a lot of ppl complaining that they "broke" their phone and dont know the reason, because they are to "lazy" to read the OP for installing custum ROMS and kernals.
Agreed, reflash with SEUS, I had to do that twice, when I was noob.

i am not trying to be a smartass here, but ppl should really read OP more carefull. you cant go wrong if you backup everything in xrecovery before aplying new update or rom. i tried several of the new custom roms and they worked all. just stick to instructions and everything will be fine

Gingerbread for X10 root

I just might get the furious anger upon me but...I cant find any info on the rooting of 2.3.3.Is it possible or not or....?
Its possible but not with one of the known methods or tools. But in the development section are many threads about installing a rooted 2.3.3 ROM. Oh before you ask, don't turn on your phone after xRecovery...

confused :s please help

i have an r800i that i have sucessfully rooted and unlocked the bootloader but in doing so i have downgraded my firmware to 2.3.2 from 2.3.3 when i connect my phone to the computer my pc companion automatically picks up a software update . if i update my phone to 2.3.4 via pc coompanion will this affect my root at all and can it potentially brick my phone please help
There is a chance (a pretty big one) that it will brick your phone, but could be recovered.
To get to the new update, search Firmware 4.0.A world etc and download Flash tool 2.9.1. Look around in XDA development for play section
Drag the firmware (4. 0). To firmware folder in the flashtool. Go to drivers and install ggaetup22. Click ok (files from google drivers required, you should've kept the files you had from unlocking bootloader.
OK once that's done click on X10 flashtool, click flash, highlight all . sins from the firmware, then do what the flashtool says.
You will not lose your root.

thanks for the help my man glad somebody could be a help also do you know of any tested and working kernels and cooked roms that can be installed on the phone without losing any of the functionalitys
If you successfully unlocked your bootloader then it is a better to just flash the newest modded rom with root included already. Do Not update when your bootloader is unlocked...

Restore to Orginal SE Rom

Hi All,
Wondering if someone can help me. My wife has an xperia Arc and I recently unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. I then proceeded to install the Blend_MIUI rom. It all went sucessfully and she now has a xperia arc running miui. however, she now wants the old rom back. She misses the camera functions of the original rom, and just doesnt like the iphone feel of the rom. My problem is that I totally forgot to make a backup of the orignal rom before flashing. Can someone please help me to download the original SE rom and point me to how I can install it back on the phone?
Thanks for the the help in advanced.
Read one of the threads started in the last day or so asking the same thing.

I want the new ICS rom, but where do I start?

How do I install it? I swear I've searched....I can't really find a thread that tells me how to unlock, install clockwork, and flash this rom. I've never had a problem finding this information with my old phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
This is a good start:

Try using your eyes. As I write this the top thread in the Arc dev area covers this.
If you can't glean the info you require from that, then maybe you should avoid beta software.

Can someone say what different partition tables actually means. Is this something permanent or will a flashing a stock ftf fix the partition tables again? I want to install on my arc and other have done it with success but SE says you shouldn't.
From SE dev site "You must be using Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray, running the latest Xperia™ software release (which is 4.0.2.A.0.42). Please note that you can’t use the original Xperia™ arc or Xperia™ neo, as they have different partition layouts."
there maybe a reason se state that,if they say no thats mean no,if you ended brick your phone just dont blame se and dont ever thinking of getting in here, just wait for new release if i were you..

I don't get it either. Why is there not a thread that just tells you how to unlock, install clockwork, and flash roms?
All I see is stuff about fast boot and have no idea what that is.

Bro.... I use 2 day to walk trough most post at XDA Xperia Arc/s forum to learn how to unlock/root/flash/fastboot/recovery it mean u need to really look hard to get wat u want
So far i know
1. [Firmware] 4.0.2.A.0.62 unable to root so need to flash back 4.0.2.A.0.42
- use flashtool v0.6.7.0 & firmware 4.0.2.A.0.42
2.[Unlock] Follow this SONY OFFICIAL way to unlock ur phone http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
3.[Root] Use flashtool v0.6.7.0 just ONE CLICK wil do
4.[ROM] find ANY ROM at forum, they mostly will told u use which "Kernel" & also provided links (most of their modify Kernel should with a recovery function like clockwork)
- Im Using this arconium ICS v1
after fastboot Kernel into your phone then u can access recovery function at the boot of your phone, then u can flash main ROM from the recovery mode
5. if got any thing happen and make ur phone brick just do the whole step again
