Google Calender sync and Gmail sync not working after ICS update - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hi,
So i just updated my transformer to ICS and now the calender sync doesnt work it just crashes every time i try to sync the calender. It just says "Google calender sync has crash" Also gmail does not work its not bringing in my new emails. I hit the refresh button but no emails come up.

You unfortunately aren't going to get much help on this IMO for these reasons;
We don't work for Asus (no motivation to help end-users with such issues)
The problem is not common enough for devs to have looked into, random reboots are more important right now (they work for free and thus devote their time accordingly)
You didn't offer any information about your device, it's firmware, rooted or not, how you updated (via OTA or CWM).
If that last line sounds like a foreign language then you should know that this is a website for modders and developers, not just end-users, and we really don't troubleshoot proprietary issues (like problems caused by Asus updates) unless they begin affecting a lot of users in our community..and this is the first I've heard of this issue.
In the end, your best bet is going to be a factory reset or rooting and installing CWM (if you haven't) and reflashing GAPPs..again, if you don't know what that means then your issues are best resolved via Asus customer support. If you do know what that means then you should know better than ask questions without giving any info on your device lol
I suggest reading the link in my sig (asus noob guide if it applies to you) and if you can't learn enough from that post to resolve your issue, you will at least be able to install CWM and reinstall the GAPPs manually. Good luck! And please report how you fix your issue when you do resolve it.

There is actually a Google support thread for this issue (I had it too). Simply, you probably have a rogue repeating event in your Google Calendar; find it, delete it and everything will be OK. But if, like me you have a lot of repeating events, it can take a long time.

Picasa Synchronization Issue

Tried searching but there hasn't been an update on this since end of January.
Picasa fails to synchronize with the Gallery application and therefore does not have access to your online web albums. "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." is the description given in the Accounts and Sync section of settings on all users phones that suffer from this problem.

As this wasn't resolved for non US users, does anybody have any updates, work arounds to solve this issue?

Did you sign up for a Picasa account After you got you N1? If so, you need to wipe your phone. The phone will sync with Picasa after that. My wife had that issue...and wiping the phone worked.

Lemme guess, you have an @googlemail.com account rather than an @gmail.com account?
Google are aware of it though, so should get sorted.

Non US user hence googlemail account. wondered if anyone on here had looked into it and found a way / modded the app / created a different version of gallery etc to sync.
Guessing not so far (N)
Surely someone can work around this rather than wait for the update to fix this that might never happen, along with proper non us sat nav (licensing issues, i know but come on already!)

Here's the official answer from HTC. Their workaround did not work for me however.
There seems to be a miscommunication between Facebook servers and the phone and that causes an inability to sync updates. I do apologize for the inconvenience and we are working with Facebook to determine a fix for our customers. In the mean time, we have found that some customers have had success when editing their work profiles on their Facebook page. If you have added a company and have checked the box next to “I currently work here,” simply add the City / Town of your office. This will allow for HTC Sense to communicate with Facebook without failing. This also applies to education profiles set up on Facebook. Or you can delete the work or education information, and add it back after we have made the appropriate changes to solve this issue.

Facebook sync (dl09, superclean)

Alright guys, I've searched all over and this question keeps getting asked but no one cares / sees to answer it.
I am having troubles syncing my Facebook Contacts after installing DL09 and Superclean Rom w/ Ad Test Kernal (newest one).
Sync will stop and say "it's currently having problems check again".
I figured making a thread will gather some attention to this issue, as I have searched and found nothing but unanswered questions by fellow members.

I've seen that message every so often and, for me at least, it seems to mean what it says. It's always started working again after waiting some random amount of time and trying again -- though sometimes it took a few days.
I have not found any way around it other than waiting,which leads me to conclude the SNS system just sucks. I'll never understand why Samsung made their own social network sync system when the Facebook and Twitter apps have far-superior systems built-in -- both of which SNS overrides and disables. Yet another benefit of AOSP roms!
Well my brothers phone, without Superclean ROM, works perfectly.
Clearly this issue is connected?

Anyways, can you simplify your question? I'm confused with the way you worded. Did you want facebook sync support from samsung our from the facebook app?
After rereading, do you have touch wiz launcher still installed?
Samsung's facebook requires tw launcher. But you would get fc acore.
We'll now I'm plain confused. I tried my dads facebook login on my phone, worked perfectly (he's got about 30 people). I tried mine again and it says currently experiencing problems. However, it was working perfectly earlier today on my account on DJ05, before I upgraded.
Now I feel like this has nothing to do with superclean, but my account (even though it was working earlier)?
I assume this is Samsung's SNS, how do you sync through the Facebook app?
Yes, I was going to tell you that I have no issues with sync with fb sns. The fb app doesn't sync with this phone.
Try logging in to fb on a computer. There may be a password issue.
The Facebook Android app works perfectly, I've been on it all day and my computer.
I'm thinking, before I upgraded to DJ09 I backed everything up (backup pro). Contacts, call, apps, you name it.
I'm wondering if when I restored it, it corrupt(edly) installed the contacts and the facebook login so maybe because the phone thinks its already connected it wont?

If you can't log in it's probably a different issue.

Well, make sure you don't restore system settings. Especially between versions because the settings get funny between versions.
I just bought my Fascinate with DL09 already on it and I'm having the same issue with Facebook not syncing my contacts. My phone is still completely stock so this is an issue with the Samsung software.

[Q] not able to access twitter app

Hi, I used to use the HTC twitter app in Sense. But from one day to another I cannot access anymore. I get the message "You entered an incorrect username or password". I tried with different twitter accounts but I get always the same error. I also tried to access with email and username.
Any idea what could be the problem?

Little information that I bookmarked myself but not conclusive, just know we're done with Twitter apparently. Some help for you maybe is here (won't fix it but explains why you can't access like the rest of us).

Not sure how deep your interest is in this but heres CFB's full write up, if you look at his last tweet at the bottom you get good news on recent developments.

Peep is working again. Log out via Settings Tab > Data Services > Log out of Twitter. Then log in the same way. Keep in mind (if you read my posts about it) that this does not resolve the security issues with the application. It still leaves your session open to hijacking, but it does work again.
If HTC does not fix the problem, it will only go out again in the future.

Social Hub Issues

I'm not sure what happened but i cant seem to add any facebook, twitter, linkedin accounts in social hub any more. It says LOGIN FAILED. I have wasted all sunday looking for answers trying various things but no go. My hotmail account through Exchange was also having issue since yesterday but that just started working by itself 20 mins ago.
I was on KG6 installed KG5 still same issue.
Everything was working until yesterday except IM accounts, I could never add those from day 1 but now seems like everything is gone except emails.
I got the phone from China (not fake it was sent by my business partner) made in Korea.
i was reading somewhere to uninstall and re-install social hub but it doesn't give me that option just clear data which i have tried already.
Phone is not rooted.

Just to update I went back to Stock, updated through Kies and everything seems to be ok. Sync still shows "sync is currently unavailable" under Linkdin account but I can live with that.
Actually, despite my response in the other thread I do have a suggestion.
Are the date and time correct on the phone? I do remember not being able to create some accounts on another Android phone once because the date was wrong.
If that doesn't help, you'll need to root to remove any of the system apps. It's easy enough to do as long as you carefully read the instructions. Chainfire is very good at giving "1. Do this 2. Do that" type instructions, as long as you actually do what it says!
You can then freeze apps with apps like Titanium. I'm pretty sure you have to get the pro (paid) version of Titanium in order to freeze, but there are other freezing apps out there, and I'm sure other people will see this and be able to recommend them for you.
In case you don't know, freezing is similar to uninstalling, but it doesn't actually uninstall. It gives you a chance to see what would have if you did uninstall something, but without the risk of knackering your phone in the process.
