[Q] Charger problems!!! - Eee Pad Transformer General

Ok so i have had my transformer since it was released, haven't had many charger problems till recently, last year i was able to fix the charger by bending the pins on the adapter so the cable had a tighter fit.
about a month ago the problem came back, i was able to fix it again, then the next day that wouldn't work, i gave up on it for a while and figured i would save to get a new charger, since i wasn't really bothered going through asus for a new one.
I got the charger to work yesterday some how, don't ask me how, now its not working again.
Now, i am finding it near impossible to find a replacement adapter, asus don't ship to ireland and other places are trying to charge up to €40 for delivery from the uk! my head is starting to melt all i want to do is be able to use the stupid thing without having to worry about it charging!!!!
does anyone have a good place to buy the adapter, alot of places are also out of stock, last resort would be to go to ebay and buy a after market chinese knock-off one.

My charger quit working after a few months, I had to bend the gold pins inside the USB socket on the wall part of the charger.

Enercell AC adapter cat no. 273-358 with the USB connector piece. from radio shack I got it out the door for about 20 bucks. Sometimes they have deals where you get the connector piece for free.
The bonus is that this effectively extends the overall length of your charging cord by an additional 2 meters. I bought one of these as a backup several months ago... Its all I use now, my Asus charger has become my backup.

replacement UK 3 pin wall charger

Hi everyone!
easy question but I think I know the answer.....
My 3 pin wall charger has stopped working, no light on charger, no charging icon on phone. Tried it in 3 electric sockets...
I think, because there are no serviceable parts, like a fuse, it's for the bin... and buy a new one.
So I guess mobile fun, play.com similar for a new one.
Any suggestions ?
Ofiaich
This is what i got to replace my charger when i broke. hasnt givent me any bother since i got it and it gets taken with me wherever i go so as far as i see, its quite durable also.

Cable plug slot damaged

So I usually sleep with my phone right beside my pillow (super nerd I know), and my bed is pretty high off the ground. The other night, when I woke up, I dropped the phone off my bed while it was still plugged in and now the cable's connection to the phone is not very stable.
I was able to straighten it out a little so that I won't have to hold the cable constantly to charge the phone. However, I think that the connection is too loose for me to simply disregard in my daily uses.
Is there any way I can fix this problem myself or have it repaired without sending the phone to T-mobile? i don't want to deal with the hassle of un-rooting my device and all that bs.
Any help is great, Thanks
That happend to me and I just bought a new usb cable....I thought it was the port the whole time and its was the cable that got damaged even though it looks undamaged....I say go to walmart and plug one of the universal micro usb chargers and see if it holds better that way you confirm if its the phone or cable
This sentence has been slaughtered by swype.......
lol it wasn't THAT bad
Same here. Almost exactly the same except I pushed mine off of the soldering station I was working on.
It is NOT the port on the phone that got damaged, I can BET you on this. It's the cable. Buy 1 or 2 new cables from Amazon and you'll be good as new. I promise. Lol.
Here: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Repla...UOQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294247657&sr=8-1
Roughly $3.50 per cable with the shipping included. They are Samsung originals too. Note that they MAY be shorter than the cable you just broke.
Happy shopping.

Loose Charger

I've had my vibrant since August and lately I've noticed the charger is extremely loose. It wiggles left and right a lot and falls off very easily, has anyone else noticed this or is it just me??
I also have it with the charger that comes with the phone, good thing is i have another OEM charger.
I had this happen to my motorola cliq. hopefully its the charger cord and not the charge port on your phone...that would suck. Try a diff cord to see if that helps you out. Not to be a downer, but it was the port on my cliq...
A very small port (like our microUSB port) with a not so small cable lends itself to experiencing excess strain if you're not careful. This is the nature of small ports and the laws of physics.
I bought my Vibrant on craigslist so I can't vouch for the OEM cable, only have blackberry branded micro USB cables, and they work fine, very snug. So try a different cable, if its still just as bad it may be your port.
I just had to buy a new charger cause I had the same issue
I had this issue after about a month I went to a local discount electronic store and got a micro usb cord for 5 bucks works great
Op, exact same thing as of 3 days ago.
It's the cable. My nexus one charger fits the Vibrant perfect, no wiggle.

To be honest, tonight I woke up, my phone was lighting up telling me less than 15% left and I noticed the charger tilted downwards and didn't charge... Hmmmmm
You could go on amazon and find an external oem charger,it comes with an extra oem battery and i think it was like 30 bucks.
I never charge by phone anymore
$3 if you have the wall plug:

I have an old nokia micro usb charger that my brother jacked to use in his car hopefully it's not loose otherwise I'm gonna get a warranty replacement =/
wiggles left and right? Yes falls off very easily? NO
Ebay after market charger they work fine for me and very cheap
i really thought it was me i . i also notice that its not charging my phone as fast as it used to im talking about 30 min and only brings it up to 20%. and its charging while off!!
i find myself taking my moms charger a lot now a days lol
I too have had this issue. At first it was just the cable, as other MicroUSB cables had a more solid connection, but now it doesn't matter which cable I use, indicating the port in in the phone is at fault. I'm going to be asking T-Mo for a RMA because of it.

Busted Charging Port

Alright guys?
Accidentally leaned on my phone the other day whilst it was charging. Seems to have bent the charger port on the phone.
The phone still charges ONLY if the charger is plugged in and propped up in a certain way. needs to be pulled up slightly or there's no charge.
USB drive nor ADB work anymore so i'm guessing that a circuit has broken...
Does anybody know how these work?
If it's a case of broken connection, perhaps putting phone in an oven for a few mins will melt the the solder and hopefully fix the connection? (This worked fixing my 8800GT graphics card few years back!) Long shot
Ta
If it's truly broken then i'll probably get an SGS and then take a hammer to the HD2
The micro-usb port on HD2's is flimsy. It's probably snapped off from the mainboard, and putting pressure in the correct way is pushing it back together. Same thing happened to my HD2.
But there is some relatively good news. An external charger and an extra battery will only cost you about $16-18 USD on ebay. This has worked just fine for me for over a year. With dropbox installed on your phone and comp, you rarely have to connect via usb anyways.
if poss, check with another cable first.
I have a usb cable that looks fine but will only charge when angled downwards, no data, , yet if i bend it upwards it carries data but wont charge. my other usb cable works perfectly.
chances are it IS the port, as said they're pretty flimsy, however best to check, be a shame to bake your phone for the sake of a £2 cable.
same thing happened to me a few months ago,
the usb in the phone broke,
so i got a mains battery charger from ebay for about £4 and a few extra batterys,
been using them now for bout 2 months and all is good again,
it was a pain trying to get the usb in the right place for it to charge , i tryed the oven thing and it didnt work , not sure if i left it in there for long enough but i didnt want to ruin my phone completly.
easy option is to buy a mains battery charger
Thanks for the replies!
I'll look into a mains charger and 2-3 more batteries
So after my phone failing to charge at all last night I popped down to the local phone shop / stand in town and bought a universal battery charger.
+ and - aren't labelled on the charger so I assume it doesn't matter or it works out which is which?
It's a little slow and was a bit pricey, either way I have 63% battery now after a couple hours
Thanks
Wow mine's at 100% after a couple hours

It will probably melt the plastic first, rendering your phone entirely useless...
DONT DO IT!

[Q] My Charger port broke

Hello everyone.
So 2 weeks ago my tablet fell off a table while it was charging.. And the charger got bent but still worked.
Today I was charging the tablet and using it, and the charger fell out, leaving a part of it in the tablet.
I went to Bestbuy, Walmart, OfficeMax, and Staples. None of them wanted to risk trying to take it out. Expected. Some suggested I send it to Acer, which I don't prefer.
When I plug whats left of the charger now, it charges (but keeps falling out).. I'm thinking that getting a new charger won't work since the broken part of this charger is still in there..
Is the docking station my only choice? If so, are there any cables that use that port to charge without the whole "docking station" ?
Thanks for reading!
A paperclip straightened out, or a sewing needle gently inserted can dislodge the part that is stuck in there. That is how I removed mine.
I would maybe drain the battery down to 0 before sticking something metal in there that may cause a short.
Same issue discussed here:

YAY!! I took it out using a geometry compass, so happy!
Just ordered a new charger :d
