Try leaving it plugged in for a while before turning it on, sometimes flashing a rom messes with the battery life (it did with me)

i'll try and maybe the current will go through
you may have to run ODIN again.
To get your phone to turn on again do this in this order;
unplug USB cable from phone & computer
remove battery from phone
plug USB cable into phone
plug usb into computer
hold vol up & down at the same time
while vol up/down held, put battery in and wait.
Download mode should come up.
run ODIN

Everytime I turn off the kf and plug it in, it turns back on I think it might be the twrp recovery.
It is not TWRP... Once you have booted to the OS TWRP is out of the picture.
More than likely you are not using the power supply that came with the unit.
If you use a connection that is less than 1.8V, the device will keep waking up and turning on over and over.
Im using the power cord that came with the kindle fire in the box, it might be the ics rom then i guess.
This happens to me too.
When I plug in my Kindle Fire using the default charger, the device turns on.
I am running the stock rom and it's been happening for a while now.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

This is seems to be a little quirk of the Fire.
If you plug in the cable then shut it down after it turns on, it charges just fine (but the charging LED does not come on, making you think maybe it's not charging). I've not had it power back on after this point, but I have just used the supplied charger.

exactly, and after that if phone doesn't vibrate/do nothing, then there is something with power.
also, after that , and if it fails, remove usb cable, plug battery back in and try to charge it again.
and if, it still doesn't do nothing, try another usb cable and battery.
(as normally, when you plug in usb , it shoult vibrate and start up , and/or if not, then wait some time and try to power it on.)
but if you have done all that and there is nothing, then there is someting with your phone (usb socket ?!? )

Nope!
Something similar happened a couple of days ago. Held the power button for around 10 seconds and a red notification light came on. I think it was flashing as well. About 10 or so minutes later the screen came on. This time the phone is just dead...
Have you tried any button combos like- power + volume up + volume down.
Also did the phone run out of battery normally or was there any battery drain?
This doesn't look good for n4.
Hold power and vol +/- to enter recovery mode and then restart.
But before make sure ur charger or outlet works.

None of the combos work. It's as if it's not charging...
Weird. Plugged it into my laptop to check if that worked. Nothing. Plugged it back to the mains and a red notification light started flashing. After about a minute the screen came on with the battery animation. I managed to switch the phone on now. The wallpaper was reset to the stock one, but everything else seems to be fine.
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to turn on the Nexus 7 when a power source (usb cable) is connected from a completely powered off state. When you plug in the nexus and it's powered off, it shows this nice little charge animation without actually starting. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ratkid
Once it has powered up to the point you see the charging animation and it goes out, just press the power button for a few seconds, let go and it will start up.
Press the power button...

LOL. I was gonna say that....your hand would already be in the neighborhood of the power button when you plug it in....give the power button a wee press, and boom....its turning on.

Hi all,
I realize pressing the power button would be the simplest solution. Unfortunately, that won't work for my needs. I'm trying to help someone with a project where the nexus 7 will be enclosed, and the only way to interact with it will be the usb port (or more specifically, applying power to the usb port). I figured this was a losing battle, but also thought that if anyone would know a solution, it would be the wonderful people here. So besides the power button, any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Ratkid
Aside from hoping it never shuts off to begin with, I think you're out of luck.
