Nope!
Something similar happened a couple of days ago. Held the power button for around 10 seconds and a red notification light came on. I think it was flashing as well. About 10 or so minutes later the screen came on. This time the phone is just dead...

Have you tried any button combos like- power + volume up + volume down.
Also did the phone run out of battery normally or was there any battery drain?

This doesn't look good for n4.

Hold power and vol +/- to enter recovery mode and then restart.
But before make sure ur charger or outlet works.

None of the combos work. It's as if it's not charging...

Weird. Plugged it into my laptop to check if that worked. Nothing. Plugged it back to the mains and a red notification light started flashing. After about a minute the screen came on with the battery animation. I managed to switch the phone on now. The wallpaper was reset to the stock one, but everything else seems to be fine.

So..my nexus 7 won't turn on..

Recently updated my n7 to 4.2, haven't done anything beyond rooting. I woke up this morning, watched an episode of Prison Break via Netflix and went to work. I always plug it in before I leave, and it was saying it was charging before I left.
I get home from work today, and upon trying to unlock the device, it doesn't turn on. I unplugged it, checked the plug in it was using, even tried multiple different electrical sockets. Plugging it in usually brings up the off charging animation, but nothing. Anyone know what might be going on?
My sincerest apologies if this has been asked/questioned before; I did a little searching before I posted this and couldn't find anything about it. Thanks in advance.

Try holding down the power button for 10-20 seconds.
If that doesn't work, try leaving it plugged in for a couple hours and check back on it.
Also try plugging it into the computer and seeing if your screen has gone bad, the Nexus 7 should still come up if it's on.
...I really can't believe I made a post for this..rofl. Thanks a lot, I guess I'm just a little too impatient to hold the power down longer than five seconds.
If mods wanna delete, feel free.

Try holding down vol up & down buttons and then the power button. Then you should be in the reboot/recovery menu. It should say start. Push power button to power up.

Had the same issue today...thanks to all for the quick and easy fix...feel like such a dork!
I'm having the same problem, last night I tried to turn on my Nexus7 and had issues.
My device is locked and upgraded to 4.2
While booting, the device would get to the lock screen then immediately power down. While it was powering down the screen would fuzz over and glitch a few times. As soon as it turned off it would repeat the process. I eventually got it into the boot loader and I noticed "based version: N/A" I'm not sure what that means but I hit start and now all it does is get stuck at the multi-colored X logo.
Getting back into boot loader I tried recovery mode, the response is "No command". Tried plugging it into my PC and I get the little (ba dum) sound but no device or folders to be scene.
I think i'm in trouble. I wanted to see if I could root it just so the device works again but I can't access it on my PC.
Can anyone think of a step or process I forgot to try?
My Nexus 7, wont turn on anymore either i charged it , it was very low went down to 11% battery so i turned it off and charged it, saw the battery on the screen and now.. It will not turn on, unit feels very warm when charging. It started to lag a bit , before i turned it off.. its normal software as supplied by nexus. so..> no matter how long i hold the buttons.. its off and screen stays black..
doh....asked for RMA number..only used it for a month
My Nexus 7 32Gb won't turn on either. I've been having since I got it the battery has been showing 0% since I turned it on. Regardless of how much charging I did it never changed. It ran fine and was told it might be to do with calibrating the battery but it then started to have problems turning on. It's gone off and I've tried the various power on options mentioned in this thread and nothing is working.
I guess it means a return to Carphone Warehouse. I had just got it all set-up as well.
I had rooted it and manually upgraded it to 4.2.1. It was running fine bar the 0% battery issue. I did the same thing to my Mum's 16Gb Nexus 7 and no problems at all with that one.

New Nexus 7 Died after 2 Hrs Use
Nexus 7 shut off after only 2 Hrs of use and placed on USB charge. Tried holding button down for 30 Seconds and up/down combination with Power and nothing worked. Opened back cover carefully and patiently with Plastic Opening Tool I already had. Disconnected battery for thirty seconds then replaced connector without removing battery. Snapped cover back on. Hit power and it turned on. Do not use metal on case to open. Hope this helps. I got the idea from Youtube Video. I'm a new user and Not allowed to post links yet. Nexus 7 Teardown Review.

Thanks a lot I holded power button for more than 15 sec it got powered on thanks for your information.I am Happy now.
Man, I was just freaking out. Just got the wifi 16 on Monday. Rommed it as soon as I got home. Was using it at my local watering hole, and it suddenly just would not respond. Black screen, yadda yadda.
15 seconds of holding the power button and boom. Google logo, and then SmoothROM's boot ani. *wipes forehead* Never been so happy to see Jessica Nigri's face! lol
Thank You
I had been turning the Nexus on and off for the last couple of days, No "problems".
I tried to turn it on a couple of minutes ago and NOTHING. I even pluged it in and the battery charging icon did not turn on.
I also tried holding the button for 5 seconds but still nothing.
Fix:
I had to held the button for over 15 seconds to get it to turn on.
Thanks!
Similar problem with my nexus 7. Battery charge shows up when i plug it in. If I try to turn it on while its plugged in, i get what looks like static and lines on the screen. When I unplug it, it dies. If I hold the power button down, and plug it in, it will boot normally, and everything seems to work fine, but the battery shows as dead, and as soon as I unplug it, it dies.Just got it, it came with 4.2.1 running on it, it was an open box from Best Buy, and developer options were already enabled on it. Looks like someone tried to root it, f'd it up, and returned it. Guess I'm taking it back and returning it as well. Just a major pain as it's 1.5 hours each way from where I live to the closest best buy and back.
My problem is an easy fix, return it. However, I'd like to know if anyone figures out a fix for this incase it happens in the future.
Thanks.

[Q] Nexus 10 wont turn on.

I placed my nexus 10 on charging yesterday, and after a while (2-4 hours later) when i came back, i found the device to be turned off, I tried the power button in all the combination with volume buttons, but still no luck (even held the power button for 3mins) I searched online, and couldnt find any help on other forums. Some said to keep it on charging overnight and then try powering it up. But still no luck.
I dont get any notification when i connect it to charger, although when i press the power button while connected the screen lights up, and battery charging sign shows up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you cannot even get to the recovery?
You ether over charged it (very unlikely to happen) or you have a faulty N10.

Could be a bootloader corruption, software issue, hardware issue or some part of the hardware "thinks" that it is still on when it is not causing it to not switch on.
Have you noticed any issues before it just came off like extreme overheating?

Well, yes the tablet was getting overheated after a long session of hd videos, or games, but that use to happen all the times.
I believe this is normally called a "Sleep of Death" or sometimes "screen off death". Hold power + vol up + vol down at the same time for 5 seconds and you should boot into fastboot. From there hit the power button to turn the tablet on. Then go about finding a better ROM/kernel combo that doesnt give you this problem.

Weird how it was taking any input from the power button though. I kept the tablet on charging over night and i tried turning it on in the morning and it worked.

I've had my Nexus 10 for less than a week, and this morning I encountered this problem. I was working on setting up syncing through an app called FolderSync and SugarSync. Syncing of one of the folders seemed to go into a loop. The device locked up completely a couple times. I got the process running again and left it running while I went for a workout. When I came back no way could I get it turned on.
I had tried all the things suggested here before checking here for help. I'll try your "solution" of leaving the device on charge overnight. If I can't get it going tomorrow morning I'll return it to Staples, where I bought it.
I have an iPad and have never encountered anything even close to these problems. Bought the Nexus 10 specifically to run the Vim Touch app for Android. The only Vim app for the iPad is horribly crippled.
Sounds like this thread pretty much exhausted the possibilities by the time epicbearman discovered his "solution," but if by chance anyone has any further suggestions I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Eric Weir
I had the exact problem as the OP and none of my chargers worked. I then googled and found someone that said to try to charge via their PC USB instead of the wall charger. I left it plugged into the USB for a couple of hours and the charge went to 4% ( so it must have been very dead ) and all is well.
I charged it via the usb charger, and connected it to my pc overnight. Try doing that.

Thanks. If I'd gotten this in time, I suspect it would've worked. But when I couldn't get it started after trying everything else and leaving it on charge overnight, I returned it to Staples.
Will order a Nexus 7 from Google. If I can get Vim Touch running successfully---my reason for wanting an Android tablet---and I find the screen to small for heavy writing---I want to get by with a soft keyboard---I'll order another 10 and give the 7 to my daughter.
Thanks again,
Eric Weir

Nexus 4 Died?

So i was playing a game called The room battery was at 1% but was connected to a charger and it suddenly powered off and a red light started to blink then the light disappeared and now it is connected to the charger and has no response, is my phone dead? :S i'm so nervous.
The device may not respond until it is fully charged. I think it's best if you wait until it's charged fully and see what goes from there.

When I have get the red light I have to keep trying to power it on taking the charger in and out. Last time took 30 mins for it to go away of continuously trying to power on and taking charger in and out. The reason I do this is because if you leave it on charge with the red light on the phone will not charge. You can leave it over night and the red light will still be there and your phone won't be charged! It will only charge if you get the charger screen up and the red light is off.
Happens to me if don't have much battery and I try to watch something on the TV with slimport connected

plug it in, and press and hold volume up plus power for 60 seconds, then release. It should then power up automatically or press the power button again. This key combination is the equivalent of a battery pull, which is what you have to do when it gets locked up like that or battery drains too low.

Your phone's fine. The reason it powered down even though it was plugged in is because it was at 1%, and considering you were playing a game your phone was probably expending power faster than it could charge.
When there's absolutely no power left it won't respond no matter how long you hold down the power button. Just plug it in & let it charge for a few hours don't worry.

It's not bricked, there are a lot of threads about it around here. You have to charge the battery, and keep trying with vol down + power, until it takes you to recovery. From there choose reboot.

In all honesty, you were probably right there, but you just didn't let it charge enough. I had a rlod the other day, I must've done it good this time because I had to let it charge for almost an hour before it would power back up. I can't remember though, if it actually chargers when the red light is lit, or if you need to unplug it and plug it back in so that it's plugged in with no red light, no power on, or anything. Let it charge while of with the red light on for about 20 mins. Then fiddle with it, unplugging and plugging back in, until you can get it to stay plugged in without powering it up or the red light coming on. Let it charge for about 20 mins like this too. Unplug it. Turn it on. Plug it back in immediately after seeing the google logo, let it finish booting and finish charging and you should be good. I've had around 5 - 7 rlod (mostly all my fault) and this method has worked every single time. I've never opened or rma'd my phone.

If the phone is completely powered off, your computer shouldn't even know when you plug it in, it shouldn't pop up with any messages at all. What your getting sounds a bit like the message people get when their phone is hard bricked, except reading from your first post, you havent done anything at all to even get close to a hard brick. Try holding your power button for 30 seconds. A real 30 seconds, count it out. When I turn my phone back on from the rlod (after doing all my rlod steps in the previous post), sometimes I have to hold the power button for a god awful long time, it has to be close to a full minute. Your phone might be frozen on some lower level (locked up bootloader maybe?) and might require holding the power button that long as well.

Well i have been writing about this. In short you have to disconect the battery, and try to boot it again.fist try to hold the volume down when conecting the charger, it will restart bootloader , select to start. f that doesnt work, you have to disconect the battery, and wrtie an factory image ( nexus 4 occam ) . Try to boot the phone first when disconecting the battery, before writing the factory img. GL

Phone won't turn on, no charging indicator

Hey All,
I have bought a used leeco pro 3 off swappa. Unfortunately I didn't get the phone until much later after delivery (had to have someone bring it to me). In photos the phone works fine, but when I got it it won't turn on and there's no indicator that it's charging at all. When I do plug it in, the phone does get warm though.
Any thoughts what the problem could be?
Have you tried another USB-C cable? Apparently the stock OEM one sucks.

I have another leeco and I tried that charger still nothing. I've been reading and wondering if the battery drained. I'm going to leave it plugged in for awhile to see if anything changes. I plugged it directly into my laptop and it made that noise that it recognized something was plugged in but it didn't turn on or anything like that.

Hmm any ideas on what files I would need for the leeco pro 3? It indeed shows up as Qualcoom HS loader on my computer.

I'll keep trying but doesn't want to turn on. Interestingly though, when it's plugged into my laptop at least I can hear the phone being disconnected via USB when I hold the power button down. It just doesn't seem to boot up.
When you plug it does it show it charging.
You must push power and volume button at the same time.
Never buy from them.

This doesn't happen anymore, it seems. I charged to 100% a week ago (with leeco QC 3 charger) and it didn't turn off.

It actually happened just now. I charged from 38% to 95% I disconnected non-QC charger and went into AccuBattery app looked at the stats and the phone just shut down... Now I can't turn it on. Nothing happens.
I was on the latest AICP ROM
EDIT: I hold down the power button and connected the phone to PC, it turned on to LEECO screen and now red LED is blinking.

Any help?
Hello, I have very similar problem. My Leeco le pro 3 don't charge I try diffrend cables and chargers but when plug-in only orange diode start to blink. Do you have any other ideas what to try?
same problem here. LeEco shut down because of low battery. After plugging the charger in it, the LED only blinks red. Then it vibrates, turns off and starting into the charging mode without charging. Starting TWRP or dotOS is not possible because it shuts down.
