[Q] Common question(About installing a new ROM) - Touch HD General

OK.First of all I'm sorry for posting this, since there are similiar threads like this(I guess).
I'm a HTC Blackstone Touch HD T8282 user and I want to flash, install another ROM.My problem is that I'm a complete noob at this kind of stuff and I READ A LOT OF GUIDES,posts on how to do this, but I still don't get it clearly as I have already tweaked(installed custom ROM) phone.Again, I bought the phone with all this done, so I'm kinda GREEN at this stuff..
Code:
This is my device information:
ROM version: Duttys V3.7 XT Final WWE
ROM date: 06/06/09
Radio version: 1.14.25.24
Protocol: 52.64.25.34H
ExtROM version: YOUKNOWTHEWEBSITE.
I tried checking the SPL and it says 1.56.OliNex. At this point I'm kinda lost, mainly because I don't want to destroy my phone, because I recently got it xD
So, any ideas which ROM should I use and how can I install it properly without risking too much losing it? Thanks.
P.S Should I just download any ROM(from the ROM section) and just run bootmode, then plug in to my USB and just use the wrapper thingy? gah pls help.
------------------- EDIT --------------
OK.I've FINALLY Man-Up and did this... Installed blackSTONEhenge, works good so far.

My Leo speaks Arabic!

Hi all,
I've got my Leo today and so far I'm happy, however faced a strange problem.
I was playing with the phone and found something called "Value-Added AP Installer". I installed this, and without any notice or warning, my phone turned into an Arabic device. It shows all menus, text, messages, warnings, etc in Arabic language.
I've tried the Hard Reset but to no avail. It installs itself immediately after reset (strange as this didn't happen after I turned the phone on for the first time).
I've searched all options and menus I could think of, but just can't stop or unload it. I can't see anything to "uninstall" in the remove program window.
Please help me to have my phone back!
Do I need to install a new ROM? If yes, the official ROM I've downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577717 is ok?
Here's the info:
OS version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE
ROM date: 02/03/10
Radio version: 2.06.51.07
Protocol version: 15.30.50.07U
Thanks a lot. I very much need your help now!

why don't you let the rest of us know the solution too, out of curiosity?
Shouldn't a re-flash solve the problem, or at least HSPL+custom rom, and if you really want to have a stock rom, reinstall SPL and flash a stock rom again?
Surely using task29.exe will help too

Recommended software/firmware for newly debranded phone

What are the recommended patches, downloads, ROMs (I don't really understand many of the terms Radio etc and can't find anywhere on here that puts it into layman's terms) etc for a stable, nice looking Touch HD that's easy to use?
Current details are:
Operator version: 34.119.1.611
ROM version: 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM date: 11/25/08
Radio version: 1.14.25.24
Protocol version: 52.64.25.34U
Windows is v6.1
Thanks.
a Rom is basically the operating system on your device. You can compare flashing a rom to installing windows on your PC.
You could try flashing a rom with windows mobile 6.5. I recommend Kwbr's rom with Manilla 2.1 if you want speed. This rom has TouchFlo3D just like the rom you are using now. If you want your device to look like the HD2 you could try a rom with Sense 2.5. bear in mind that Sense2.5 can be a bit slow, since it was designed for a phone with twice the speed of our blackstone.
You can find the Kwbr thread here
If you want to flash a rom, you should start by reading this
Thank you for the info and recommendations. The Manila is probably the one I'd use.
Cheers.

[Q] Revert DFT 7713 Rom to original HTC ROM

Hi all!
I have a Trophy that runs the DFT ROM that was released just before the official Mango update was released, but since that is getting kinda out of date I want to either update that custom ROM or revert to the stock ROM from HTC, since it has Mango updates itself.
I have searched for many hours on Google and here, but cannot seem to find any information (or usable/understanding) information on how to revert this to the original software, the current information is (as shown in Settings -> Information):
OS: 7713.WM7_Main(DFT).20110803-0246
REV FIRMWARE: 2250.09.12000.DFT
REV HARDWARE: 0003
Software version Radio: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
Hardware version Radio: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 1.10.2250.1(112663)
SOC: 2.2.5.0
And it's running RSPL.
I hope someone is able to help me with this issue, should this somehow already be asked and solved, please let me know which thread that is, I must have overseen that when searching the forums!
Thanks already!

For starters, you can't run RSPL, RSPL is only temporary and clears out after flashing a rom. You can still flash HSPL though (recommended) to get a permanent bootloader for custom roms.
Buy why do you want to go back to a stock rom? You are in a dream scenario of running the 1.10 bootloader, so even if your having difficulty flashing a custom rom because you only installed RSPL temporarily to flash a rom, you can easily install HSPL with DFT V3 for First Generation Phones (use V3 (Can get it by clicking here), not the older versions! V3 provides additional protection against HSPL bootloader being flashing by stock drivers).
If you can't remember how to get into bootloader mode, simply hold vol-down while turning the phone on!
To flash the HSPL so you can always install custom roms when you want, first run DFT_RSPL_WP7FG3_LAUNCH.exe, THEN run DFT_HSPL_WP7FG3_INSTALL.exe after you see the RSPL boot screen!!
If you revert it to original software now, you may never be able to flash a custom rom ever again (because the software updates will advance the bootloader to the 5.x series with MNG). If you wanted to try a newer rom, I recommend flashing ansar's Spark rom instead of DFT's since it has no issues with Internet Sharing. I'd flash the rom named "Spark_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.07_Radio_5.69.09.05a_22. 50.50.21U_NT_Tango_8773_3La_by_ansar" unless you need a language other then English (either US or UK, both are on that rom). This rom is Tango already (the update that just launched that supersedes Mango), so you'll be all up-to-date for the time being.
If you did indeed have HSPL already installed, make SURE to install V3 anyway, to get the added protections that older releases do not have!
If you really want to revert to stock, you'll be missing out. If you only ran RSPL (the temporary SPL for flashing a rom), then its as simple as downloading any stock rom for your branded phone (or unbranded) and flashing it... but you will make it a ROYAL pain to ever flash a custom rom again if you change your mind (because the SPL will be flashed to an MNG version)!!
Thanks for your help! It seems that I already had HSPL mode active, I guess I mixed the two . I've updated the HSPL just to be sure and the ROM you recommended is currently downloading (veeeeeeery slow) from Rapidshare!
I'll let you know when the phone is running with this ROM, it sounds promising already.
Thanks!

If you have a Y cable grab the correct RUU.exe extract it with winrar, rename RUU_Signed.nbh to Sparimg.nbh. I wouldnt run a RUU.exe with RSPL or HSPL as you MAY brick your device (I havent personally tested).. Might be worth taking a look at this thread, mentions downgrading http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196183&page=11 Did not see any replies so sorry if I repeated an answer
Hi all,
I wanted to let you know that the phone is now running the ROM provided by TheXev!
Thanks alot!
