Hi,
http://windows8beta.com/2011/04/windows-8-touch-effectsgestures-and-metro-ui-oobe-videos-surfaces
This link shows that win 8 beta just leaked. I've heard that win 8 will be able to run on ARM processors. So.. let's maybe test it?
what are minimum requirements ?
i think zune comes preinstalled with w8 because there is icon of zune at the task bar
no one knows, I've just wondering if this beta version could be run on ARM processor
that will be AWESOME
Hey Cotulla!
Windows 8 doesnt suit a 4.3inch display !
i would rather wait for more development of Windows Phone 7
including the MANGO update...for our HD2 !!

supposedly windows 8 has a metro-like UI, so it might.
When I was at CES the Acer A500 was dual booted with windows 7 and android honeycomb along with a few other competitors. Anyone have any idea how to do this?
Hu?
Since when you can install win7 on an ARM Cpu.
And why Acer release 2 model A500 and W500
different hardware, different OS....
I don't think that was a Dual boot, but 2 different machine you saw.
I don't think we will have Windows on A500.
Yep it must have been the W500 if it had Win 7 on it... however Windows 8 is supposed to support ARM processors.

I was just going to say that! Maybe you cant run Win 7 just now but there are points in the future where ARM SOC will be used...
Until then i will just un ultra high definition avi file of a windows 7 desktop just to fool people....
A500... A=Android
W500...W=Windows...
that makes all the answer

Oh you can do so much better than that! Grab PocketCloud from the market, link it to your pc then run it full screen. Haven't used it on my Iconia yet, but it worked awesome on my Nook Color. The look on my buddies face when he saw Win7 on that little thing was amusing to say the least.

If you really want your Android tablet to have that Windows 7 look and feel, you can try the launcher, Android Seven in the Market

nothing fancy but they did say "its a windows 8 backend, with a windows 7 gui, until were ready to show the new ui" somewhere in one of them
I know that there is a version of the iconia series that uses windows. But what I want to know is if there is a way to get windows on my A500.
The A500 has an ARM , soo there's no way to run windows
windows 8 will be possible... that will have an ARM build

Think ill treat myself to hair salon today. Gigggles
windows 8 won't be out until 2012 at the earliest.
come win 8 for thinkpad tablet 1838-2gg?
Windows 8 hasn't even been released yet, so...
Can it be done? I have been googleing around and the only thread i could find was from 2012. I know it is possible to dual boot with the nexus 7 and i have done it before, so would it be possible to install windows 8 tablet edition on my nexus?
If it is at all possible, it would be windows rt
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Windows is not open so it would likely be a difficult port. and while the new RT uses a Tegra 4, not sure how that would translate to the Tegra 3 in the 2012 N7. I would not hold my breath on this being ported anytime soon.

But the original surface with windows rt ran on a tegra 3

Run Windows RT 8.1 on a Tegra 3 tab?
The reason you don't see a port, is two reasons:
1. No legal licenses, they come with the licensed hardware products. OEM licenses not sold seperately.
2. Surface RT was Tegra 3. Surface RT received an update, so no port is needed for "Tegra 3" but again see reason 1.
It's same as running iOS on an ARM based tab, possible but swift to be smashed by the legal teams.

this has been covered already. What I got out of this old thread was if some one ports windows rt with a un-registed os, a trial version or so, then buy a cd key to register windows rt. Just cant buy windows rt os cd key, but u can run a script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442791 on a windows rt tablet and grab the key to put it on a ported window rt nexus 7.. Hopes and dreams
