Hi there, i've searched about this problem but find some solutions only for other phones, Windos Phones etc.
Can i do something about this on my Wildfire? Preferably without rooting but i will root if neccessary. I have stock 2.2.1 Froyo, all factory etc, ADW Launcher..
It rings on my end only after about 3 rings on the callers end.
Help apreciated, thanks.
I will find a solution.

Yeah, that's problem with all the wildfire even i was curious like you during initial days. Trust me even I had been HTC service centre couple of time, they were dumb founded are hearing to my problem.
This because of sense rom that cause delay of about 2 to 3 rings. The easy way to get rid of it to Root and use rom other than Sense (CM7, nightly). If you wish not to get rooted and use custom rom then the problem remains.

I've heard there is a setting called 'slot cycle' that you can change, typing those codes in the dialer, but you have to have some MSL code etc. So there is a setting for that, it seems it's on 3 by default, and you can put it on 1, or 0. You know something about that?
the problem is in every rom, its a radio option to save battery. Solution Exists only on sense roms, not on ASOP
SOLUTION
On dialer press ##3282# or *#*#3282#*#*
Press "edit mode"
Enter MSL (get this from service provider)
Press OK
Press Advanced
Press Slot Cycle Index
Change it to 0
Press "ok"
SCI is set to 2 by default. Lower SCI value will drain battery.
For CDMA only.
You are playing with Radio and this method has the potential to brick the device.
**Requires Root**
For rooting use HTCdev method+gingerbreakv1.2
**Requires HTC Sense**

was your prob solved?

thanks for the guide, somtimes my incoming call is so late it stops almost straight away but i think its also todo with the lag of the rom coz it starts vibrating but takes ages for the call screen to come up. anyway i tried your codes you put up but when i input the 1st code ##3282# nothing happened so i pressed the call button and it read "connection problem or invalid mmi code"so i put the next code *#*#3282#*#* into my dialpad and upon entering the last * the input line went blank and i couldnt find an "edit mode" to press. What is the msl?
thank you

I did a search of the forums and found 2 post without any solution to this problem. It started happening today to me and I've tried almost everything to make it work, i dont want to resort to a hard reset. Does anyone know how to solve this? My vibrate motors work fine as I just reverted back from an HTC Magic Port and my messages were vibrating perfectly fine.
Bump Still searching, found info that suggest a reboot removes this or setting the volume all the way down to silent then to vibrate would force it to fix itself. My G1 Still is not vibrating but the engine is perfectly fine because I keep testing it with a Magic Rom (H5.0.2).
Well, the obvious question is, have you gone into the messaging app and set it to vibrate?
Done all the sets already to properly troubleshoot the problem. Deleted any program having to do with calls and sms and still nothing.
Well then the only thing left is a factory reset. Once thats done make sure to go back into the messaging app and set it to vibrate.
If that doesnt fix it and you are running a rooted phone then reflash whatever firmware you are running.
An actual answer!
I had the same problem as you... i just got my phone yesterday, and I've been trying to get it to vibrate... and finally i found out how to! Go into messaging app (if a thread is open, click the MENU button press "more" then "all threads"); click the MENU button; press "settings"; at the very bottom of the list press "vibrate".
Ok so I dont know what happened. I installed this medaldetector app for my phpne. I installed it and ran it and then it sor of had a spaz attack. Had no idea to close it so I took the battery out. (This might have nothing to do with my issue) So when I started up my phone it asked me for a pin number. I never use a pin number and I do not recall turning the option on to use one. So now I cant call or txt or anything like that without the pin.
So I am really stumped. Help me out please.

try your sim card in a different phone and see if it asks for pin code. if it does, somehow pin verification got activated. you need to find the little card that came with your sim card which has the pin code and puk code. if you can't find it, call your operator, they will give you those. (puk code is used when you entered your pin code wrong 3 times) good luck.
Thanks alot... Helped
I have WinMo 6.5.5 on my phone and can't find where to turn off the Pin verification? Anyone know how to do this?
On your home screen, scroll accross to the end (Setings). Tap menu and press All Settings. Go to Personal and then to Phone. You should be able to disable it there.
Alternatively, you could just tap your top menu bar. There should be an icon for your service provider, just tap that and it should directly take you to the option you want.

Thanks! I found it hidden under the "GSM/UMTS Service"
Hell yes!
After a few hours trying to uncover the dialing code string for the Fascinate, I finally figured it out!
I've dug into *almost* all the AndroidManifest.xmls to compose a list of hidden menus you can gain access to.
I shouldn't have to say it, but I will..
I'm not responsible if you brick your phone.
Play with these things at your own risk.
Even if I said it's been tested by me and confirmed to work.
It's not my fault if your phone takes a crap on you.
Make a backup of your phone.
I will be doing some more testing and will uncover more hidden menus, but this is what I have for now..
Some members of another forum where having trouble using these codes and I've discovered that you need Hiddenmenu enabled. To enable Hiddenmenu, do the following:
Go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
Go back into the phone dialer and enter *#22745927
Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000
Press the Hiddenmenu Enable radio button.
Now you can use these codes.
The dialing code string you have to use is *##
Here are some things you can gain access to
Audio Tuning
*#28346#
Several audio tuning menus.
I've only tested the two items below:
To silence boot and shutdown audio go to Situation/BOOTSOUND and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works.
To silence the volume key audio when turning the volume up/down go to Situation/VOLUMEKEY and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works.
Full Bat Popup
*#3844228#
This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
HwCodec
*#0002*28346#
Audio path volume controls. Most importantly, it looks like there's a sidetone adjustment.
I have not tested any of these items yet.
Shutdown
*#7594#
This enables you to shut your phone off by long-pressing the power/lock key.
No more pop-up confirmation.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
I also need to point out that this disables your slide lock screen.
Diag/Testing Mode
*#4636*1111#
Does this allow us to change intricate GPS settings, ala the "GPS fixes" for the earlier Galaxy S models?
Or is that not an issue with the Fascinate?

This isn't working for me. Nothing happens after I do this.
I enter the first string, press home, press dialer, the first string is still there and I enter the second string. Nothing happens.

You can gain access to a GPSSetup menu using this short code-
*#1472365#
The settings are set to the "fixed" values by default.
You don't need to change anything.
You can go into Command and then start GPS and force a satellite lock.
There's other cool info there too.

After pressing Home and entering back into the dialing, clear the first code and enter the second.
I will update the directions to include that.

awesome that you figured out how to enable secret menus...now how do we enter into diag mode? i wonder what code that is. i tried 8778 but that didnt work out
*#7594#
If your enable this, it appears to not only shutdown your phone with a long press of the power key, but it also disables your lock screen (puzzle/glass screen).

The proper spelling is "dummies. " Using an apostrophe-s shows ownership. Dummy.
Do you have the code for the menu to change the vocode.

It looks like the message goes away, but the screen still turns on when the battery is full. I love how bright the screen is, but even at the lowest setting this phone can light up an entire room.
Thank you SO much for including the "disable battery full popup". That thing was annoying as HELL!
Bummer that it turns on the screen, still. Also, I agree that the screen is extremely bright, even with "night mode" in the Desk Cradle app. I'd like it if I could decrease the "minimum brightness" value even more, so I could use this phone + cradle as my alarm clock replacement.
Way to go egg_head!
Hi Android experts,
is there any possibility/app/hack/mod/etc to end a phone call with a "hardware" button?
I couldnĀ“t find anything here in the forum or at the market.
Thanks in advance!

No one an idea?
On the Droid X, you can do this in the settings, but only so much as to make the power/lock button end your call.
Settings > Accessibility Settings > (last option, "Power button ends call")
Edit: Wow, this was my first post on the forums. I am such a despicable lurker.
On the samsung captivate running perception 9 also has the option to end call with the power button. It works good but I turned it off since if you on a long phone call you can end the call but now the screen was locked so I could not go back to unlock the screen to check something ( like directions or such while still on the call.

Maybe I got something for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880844
probably only works on Nexus One.
EDIT// Oh and if you are using Cyanogenmod (I have 6.1.0, I think 6.0 had't implemented that feature!) you can go to
Settings -> Accessibility (fourth last option) -> last option (dont know it in english, my phone is in german
if you activate it, it will end the phone call - however it will not answer it!
Ok people tested this with another person and he confirmed also.
1)Make sure advance calling is off
2) Activate developer options if u havent already done so.
3) find windows transitions and change to off for all three
4) clear all left open windows using the far bottom right button
5) Go to dailer and see the keypad gone.
Any ideas why this would be? and for me the only way to get back is changing the transistion back to .5 for all three and clearing all the windows again. Its odd. i didn't try with advance calling because advance calling is still alpha stage in my opinion.

Thats been there from ages!
It has nothing to do with advance calling though.... i think its something google knows but didnt care to fix cuz lollipop is already out with a whole new dialer! One work around is press on the dialer icon and press back again... You get the dial pad!

Its been like that forever.....I have mine set to .5 because of it. Annoyed the crap out of me.

I'm not sure it can be called a bug when developer options are merely for developer testing and development scenarios. Its not being used as intended, so unexpected results show up occasionally.
