Some of the other forums are reporting using it already. I'm trying to get someone to try to get me the update file.
**edit** there are 20 or so on another forum reporting a fully operational setup with a ton of fixes.
**edit 2** http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21224776 is uploading the update file now. (hint hint, devs?)

Smart move on Asus' part. Release the update three days "early", and suddenly everybody's so pitifully grateful to get what Google should've made a year ago, that they've forgotten all about the delivery delays, faulty GPS, problematic Wifi and Bluetooth, downgraded monaural audio, etc. etc.
And all they had to do was make a slightly conservative promise on a delivery date, then move it three days earlier.
Would be nice to wake up to ics update. Correct me of I'm wrong but those of us that are rooted and flashed a custom ROM would have to unroot to receive an Fota update right?

with this and the early ics thats goin around we might have a decent beta runnin around soon man i cant wait.

I haven't forgotten anything: I wanted that Prime so bad I could hardly stand it, but after all the screwups and ASUS's refusal to fix them, I'll be taking delivery of a TF101 in about two days. $500 is simply too much to buy into that kind of trouble, but I still believe in the tablet/ultrabook idea.
This is just great news. I'm anxiously awaiting the TF101 ICS update. Great job, ASUS!

The update was expected to release on Jan 12, but Asus rolled it out two days early. Company has not yet released change-log...........

I'm hoping for a TF101 release by Friday, as I am off skiing with my TF101, and whilst I know it will make my Apple loving ski-pals sick already, ICS would make them even sicker...

True, but as in the past with almost every other FOTA someone has de-odexed and rooted the ota as well as making it a flashable zip via cwm.

Should we do a factory reset before performing the update to the ICS?
Prime users are experiencing reboots and locks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437392
I will be waiting until Revolver has a new ROM created from ICS. Then factory reset it, and start over with the new ROM. Fresh and ready to go.

you guys cant possibly think ics will be in revolver soon, ics is a whole different os which has different system files and behaves differently.
getting all the optimizations from 3.2 to 4.0 will take a while and that is if the tweaks work on ics.

Yeah I imagine it will take a while for us to see a revolver ICS ROM released. Honeycomb is still new to me as I got my TF101 for christmas and my nexus one still rocks gingerbread. To me, so far, honeycomb feels like what I think ICS will feel like. I guess I'll know for sure when I get my Galaxy Nexus next week...

Having both Honeycomb and ICS (with previous experience with Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread), I'd have to say that ICS has the best parts of all of them, a lot of the looks from Honeycomb, but with the feel that you wished Honeycomb would have had. Then shoot that full of steroids and add a slice of pie = ICS.
I'm hoping soon after ICS is released for the TF we will see a flasble stock Rom that will not remove root.then we can play with that while waiting for ICS on KRAKD
DESIRE HD using ER3BUS ASUS TRANSFORMER on KRAKD
I'm super excited for ICS, but i don't know the best method to go back to stock and keep root. I'm too antsy to wait until a custom rom is built, but i also don't want to forgeit the option of using TB to recover all my applications and game saves. What's everyone's thoughts on this?
You know that the TF is NOT going to get ICS on the 12th, the statement from Asus says the PRIME gets ICS. Asus has made no statement that I have found for a release date to the TF. IMHO it does not make good business since to relase it to the TF until the hype has gone away from the release of the PRIME and the update of ICS.

As far as I know there hasn't been official confirmation by Acer to the public yet but yes, several "blogs" have claimed that Acer has confirmed to them that the A500 will get Jelly Bean eventually. Personally I don't see why it wouldn't unless they EOLed the A500 and even then it'd really be a burn for them not. Take it as a grain of salt until you see Acer throw something up on Facebook though....which they may or may not do since they've gotten crap every time they promised an update (and it came later than promised).
Acer South Africa replied to my email saying that the A500 will be getting Jelly Bean but they don't know when.

And again the A501 will be left in the cold...
Why, Oh Why, did I buy the flagship product from Acer (at the time)? Maybe I should have gone for a Sammy instead...
If JB is anything like ICS 4.0.3, then no thanks.
Best part about a500 receiving JB is possibility of XDA developers like Civato getting their hands on source code and tweaking it. If you haven't tried out his ICS Stryker ROM then flash it to see true potential of a500 hardware. I've been switching between that and CM10 JB ROM which is also very stable now. JB has serious potential especially once you include a kernel from ezterry or linuxsociety.

Acer Australia & NZ told me today on facebook that the A500 would not be getting Jelly Bean because the processor does not support it.
A complete lie, the Motorola Xoom has the same processor and they have Jelly Bean already.
Acer are lying assholes.

I've got the notification pending, but I just wont update my Tab as long as I cant make sure I'll be able to root it instantly..: I just NEED root.. proxy purposes...

Upgrade to Canuck version???
OK, so I am running the Italian ROM and have rooted my Rogers 7500 tab and all is running very well; will I gain anything by "upgrading" to the newly released Canadian ROM?
Thanks
For what it was worth I was running a rooted tab with CWM installed and the update to 4.04 went smooth as butter for me, and it even kept root and all my apps that require root. No issues whatsoever.
It is MUCH better now than with 3.2 btw
Ota didn't work for me. I had to use kies

Lol I hate that the 3G people are able to get it before the wifi people. I initially gotten the wifi tablet because I was under the assumption that Samsung would release it first because Rogers would have to do their thing to it which would take twice as long.
Oh well my Nexus 7 is easing the stress of Samsung.

I got tired of waiting when I heard the update was pushed back to September so I went ahead and installed the Pershoot CM10 rom. Now its going to be a tough decision to go back and install the official ICS update. Either way, getting the Tab off Honeycomb made a huge difference.

And Rogers released 2 days ago according to OP. Where do they find this kind of farfetched mis-information? I know that all dates are tentative, but this is where they wet their thumbs, stick em up in the air and guess what weather it is in the Antarctic...
I am still hoping for a very near P7510 ICS release, or CM10, with limited Camera functionality, will be the way to go... Not that I won't go that path anyhoo...
With cm9 (7510) pretty much fully functional now I'm done with my weekly restores to 3.2 . When the 7510 ics releases I'll grab it just to have for warrenty purpose and upload it for people who forget to backup before they play but all the apps I use from the stock us rom work on cm9 from TB backups. Heck can even install apex launcher and touchwiz addon for the Samsungish look :good:
I am running stock US and am already over my warranty period. Lol, screw the wait! There is so much good stuff here I dont think I could go back if I tried. Once the stock firmware is available tho I will do what bertie is doing and just grab the TAR.
Cool

To be fair, they released 5 days before September. I fail to see any far fetched mis-information.
I mean they could have held the update until September 10th and still been in early September.

Now us Wifi guys will have to wait some more weeks before we are deemed noticed and get the non-carrier ICS update.
I'll say it again lol. I gave up on a wifi OTA a long time ago. I am on stock tweaked US ICS and super happy.
Hey guys,
I recently bought a Asus TF300T and it is under ICS currently. Should I upgrade it to the lastest Jelly Bean or no ? I heard some ( a lot ) of people complaining about bugs, random reboots, black lines ect....
Is it stable and smooth ? or it's better to stay under ICS ? (Im quite happy with ICS now)
So what do you think guys ?
And yes, I don't want to root or to flash custom, so please don't tell me to try JB then flash back ICS cause I don't want to lose Asus' warranty.
Thank you for helping me.
The latest update of Jellybean for the TF300 is money. Smooth and rock stable.
So it's really up to you.
Thank you for your point of view.
Other people what do you think please ? I want to be sure before flashing my tab please.
I'm facing the same question. I will probably update once I figure out how

If you upgrade, you may need to do a factory reset after the upgrade, but only if things start acting weird.

Factory reset doesn t boreing me; the main question is : is JB stable and smooth ? I heard ppl complaining so I'm a little scared to go on JB.
Fine for me - project butter should make it better. No flash in play store though

Fine for me too. Much smoother. None of the little hangs from stock ICS.
Do you have backspace issues on JB ?
Mine tf300t came stock with JellyBean. Its very nice and i definitely recommend upgrading to it. After using everything from Froyo up, it is my version of choice for sure. A version of JB is in development for my phone and as soon as its out of the alpha stage, I will use it as my daily driver also.
