Helllo all,
The phone will not active 3G. Here is the stoy
I got a U8800 with the latest stock rom installed. After having problems with the phone which was rooted i reinstalled a stock rom Android 2.3.5. I reset factory default etc etc so i am pretty sure the phone is back to its stock settings but it wont turn on the 3G. Can someone help me out here?

Your phone most likely has the wrong APN. Search the forum for apk and search your provider's website for the correct apk settings. Hope that will do the trick

Delete all apns and let only stay one ( i mean if you have mms etc apns delete all). When i was using stock that solved my problems

Having the exact same problem here, except i'm running Aurora ICS. I've gotten the correct APNs from my providers website and deleted mms APNs etc. Still not working, what do?
Finally i got 3G back! It was indeed a fault in the APN. I though i covered that but guess not!
I change to following:
IPversion set to IPV4
Verification set to PAP
APN type set to none (this whas set to *)
APN protocol set to IPV4
Got mine working aswell with settings from this thread

You may need to update your apn.
Google your supplier your region and apn... Eg vodafone uk apn.
Then goto settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names.. Check that what you get from google is in there.

I have the same type of problem. epc.tmobile.com worked for me, except everytime I reboot the phone, or if I leave it on the charger overnight, I lose my network. Everytime I have to go back into the settings and manually find T-Mobile again, then register it on the network. Anyway to prevent this issue?
I never been able to use epc.tmobile.com because I have the web2go feature...i think tmobile know that we're both using HD2 but different build rom so they would kick us off the network...its kinda weird that i still can use internet2.voicestream.com with only the original android build like nexus2hd rom. Anything with Sense rom, I wont be able to use my internet until I change it to epc.tmobile.com inwhich i cant use. Is there a way to work around to make internet2.voicestream.com with other build rom besides regular ole nexus2hd rom. I would love to use the sense roms. thanks
I somehow lost my 3g flashing custom roms i eas wondering how or what can i do to get it back

if the phone was flashed before going to a different rom then the qpst settings dont need to be changed, if the rom you changed to is aosp then you need the data fix for cm7/miui but if not and your data isnt working then you need to set your proxy settings again, thats iff your on a proxy plan. but if not on a proxy plan then somehow the qpst settings did get messed up and you need to double check them on a touchwiz based roms.
dangit, sry mods i didnt realize this was a old thread resurrected.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the data to work on the latest version of CM7? Everything else works apart from data.
There is No APN's and if I try to enter the details manually I cant save the apn.
Thanks,
XperiaPlay
Did you install the correct version for your phone? Off the top of my head, that's the only thing I can think of.

the same here first my play ask for my PIN and says the PIN is wrong?!?!
data not working on my r800i -.- APN´s still not in the list. dosnt save my settings. a reboot dosnt help.
Im not having any problem with PIN or anything like that. It runs extremely smooth, fast.etc Just cant add a APN or save it and my network (T-Mobile) isnt there. I am on a r800i as well.
AND
Yes it is the GSM version, I can make calls recieve texts.etc Just no data and getting t-mobile to send me the apn settings doesnt work either.....

I think I found your problem.
Was data working before installing FXP030?
Sent from my R800x using XDA App
Data works on everything but CM7 basically. It worked when i last tried CM7 (But this was like version FXP02something) i.e before camera and touchpads were fixed.
No data/no apns/cant save apn are the only issues i have with this rom. Everything else works perfectlly.
..
I have the same problem. everything works, except data: (
the list of the APN is blank. the save the APN does not work either.
Did you both flash with flashtool the provided official Rom, cm7 kernel, then the cm7 Rom? Specifically in that order? Regardless of if you were on official in the first place?

yes, of course. I had the problem since the update 028/028a
Yes,
I flashed my phone with the provided rom using flashtool, followed by flashing the kernel, followed by using the update.zip in CWM. (Wiped cache, data and davik-cache).

Hello Guys!
A friend of mine has Nexus S and he got an ICS OTA update from the carrier.
Now he can't send or receive any MMS. He has all the settings correct in the APN settings. Does anybody have such problems, should he install some custom rom (which one would you suggest?)
Thakn you for your answers,
Z
I have the same problem on a i9020 (no letter noted behind the battery) bought in the UK, using it on telia in sweden. Can only send mms over wifi atm. If i downgrade to 2.3.6 i can send mms on the same radio.
Same problem here. I've been Googling for an answer in the past and it looks like some people (depending on the country and the carrier) had the problem solved by using the data APN settings for MMS's. However I could'nt succeed using this method. Right now I am waiting for the next update to fix it (It was working on 2.3.6). Anyway I'll stick to ICS as more and more people tend to have a smartphone with data enabled making MMS useless.
this is also broken in my nexus s on Mobilicity Canada...hope there is a fix soon as it was perfect on gingerbread

I had a similar problem when I got the nexus s simfree, but it was on gingerbread. I'm on o2 in the uk.
I had no connection to o2 at all. They were also unable to provide a working apn for the nexus s, I ended up getting proper apn settings from a user of the o2 forum.
When I installed ics (ota) update manually I never had the Same issue. Worked perfectly.

I also didn't have an issue after I applied the 2.3.6->4.0.3 update. The problem only appeared after wiping, so I suppose it's a configs issue?
I have the same problem on ICS 4.0.3 OTA and i didn't wipe anything.
I think it's a well known ICS 4.0.3 bug.
I am following this thred..
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23233
Its a gobal bug.
If I turn on 2G only I can send and receive mms and on wifi connected..
The fix is already on aosp builds. Code needed to be fixed
I saw a mms fix on one of the AOSP builds floating around but the note said 4G only, could you direct me to one with the fix? (I tried androidME 1.2.3, nexusbeam 4.2.3 and bigxies 4.2 tonight, neither worked)

same here... tried many different combo kernel/roms but nothing ...
Same problem here
I'm using a Sprint ls980 with UltraPop (stock zvg based) rom and dorimanx kernel.
UltraPop uses YAATA texting app as the system messaging app.
My mms will not send.
I can receive pictures but not send them.
I've tried a prl/profile update and checked the APN.
I get "Generic failure. Tap to resend".
I dont know what else to try.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix my mms sending?

I need to stop being so impatient and quick to ask for help.
Found the solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61283433&postcount=253
And
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30536253&postcount=2
Turns out my APN was set to Verizon... Even though I used a ls980(Sprint) rom.
There were a total of 1,997 APN entries in my APN config file.
The mms app said it was using mms.sprintpcs.com but it wasn't!
