Broken battery indicator "?" - Nook Touch General

I just received my nst via Ebay. The battery indicator is a "?" I've done a few searches and seen to get the idea this is kind of fixable but no solutions here on XDa or anywhere. Aside from that it seems to work fine.
Any thoughts?

Battery calculation problem

Hi I looked but couldent find another thread of this but my battery will go from about 40% down to 3% but then as soon as I plug it in it an it charges 1% and goes back up to the % it came down from, it did this on multiple roms along with stock from. Does anyone else have this problem and if so is there a way to fix? Thanks.

You could try to recalibrate your battery.
There's a nice program found in the market called battery calibration by nema.
You should have root acces to use this program.
Good luck

hey i have the same problem. ? Did you find a solution?

Battery not showing 100% charged

So I have noticed that the battery on the tab does not show fully 100% charged. Every time I charge the tab overnight and I bring up the notification bar the battery only shows 99% charged, this is as soon as I unplug the charger. The tab can not loose 1% charge in the second it takes to disconnect it. I have noticed that this also happens with the original tab and no one could figure out why. What is the deal with this?

Yeah, I've noticed as well, but dont care too much

Because as soon as it loses 1/1000th of a percent, it is no longer 100% charged. So it shows 99%. That's just the way it is.

Might be getting a fascinate, one problem

It doesn't boot unless plugged into a USB. Doesn't matter if it has power to it or not. Can this be fixed and is it a known problem?

and it runs on battery after it boots? or does it always need to be plugged in?

I have a fascinate with this problem. Ive read everywhere and its a known problem by Samsung. But they don't give a **** to fix it. I don't know what to do to fix it. I've tried everything I can think of and then some. Its kind of annoying because if it ever reboots without a plug in around it won't start up, just sits on a charging screen.

I had a fascinate with the same issue. I'm pretty sure I fixed it by an Odin with Repartition checked to a di01 rom, let it boot, and then reflash whatever from you want.

I had the same prob it was due to the battery. I used a new battery and it booted fine. I got a new batt from amazon not a knockoff but a $17 in packaging sold by amazon battery. Check to see if the pink moisture indicator is showing on the battery.

Mine does this at times when the battery completely dies.. I just swap out my spare battery or charge the original a bit and it'll boot

[ Q ] not turning on

So my nexus had been unplugged and without charge for about 3 weeks or so, I've been very busy at work. I try and connect the tablet so that i can use again and the screen flickers for an instant and nothing happens, I don't see the white icon charging animation and no response after that. It's my tablet done or is there a solution for this. Thanks to anybody that can help.

Ok, I don't really know what exactly the problem is. But I think the battery seems to be dead. because if it is still good, at least it shows the indicator light when it's plugged with charger.. If u have a simple tool to test battery energy maybe u can find out. or maybe try another battery..
Leave it plugged into the charger for a good while and then hold down the power button hard, for about 30 seconds. See if that forces it on.
How long did you leave it plugged in for? It may take a few hours...

It was plugged for like an hour or so and no dice.
I think im screwed

Try leaving it plugged in overnight. I once had a laptop battery die on me, had to plug it in for like a week before it would turn on again.

Your device is hibernating to prevent further damaging the battery. Plug it in... boot to bootloader... select power off using the volume keys... the tablet will now charge normally

hi
My problem is solved, I have a friend who had the same problems with the tablet Nexus 7 16GB, the back of the unit opens easily with just a fingernail to open a case as remote and actually the battery plug is not fully inserted into the camera, a little bit of nail to reconnect the cable and now my tablet displays well 100% load.

Yup - there is a sticky that covers this method, and all the other methods as well. For anyone else suffering from similar N7 issues, be sure to check it out. Either go to stickies in this Troubleshooting section, or use this link.

[Q] Red LED dead battery?

I have now tried to find a solution to this in the forum but every thead I look through seem to have the LED blinking fast 3 times.
My problem is:
I updated to 4.3 yesterday. I was running stock with root and CWM recovery.
During the night something happened while the charger was pluged in. When I woke up the phone would not turn on and when I connect my charger the LED is constant red. I search around the forum and google and tried to keep the charger pluged in for 2 hours. Nothing happened. Then I read that the battery connector might be the problem and disconnected/connected it again. This did nothing ether.
Is this a sign that the battery is dead? Is there anyhting else I can try?
I dont want to order a new battery before I know that is the problem. Could it be somthing else?
Hope you can help!

so a voltmeter detects the battery alright?
if you get a red light while pluged in then it must be the battery, cannot charge the battery or show charging animation or boot at all.
scary knowing that I charge my phone during the night.
