[Q] 2 dysfunctional HD2's Dont know what to do anymore - HD2 General

MY PROBLEM IS:I can't get the HD2 into the bootloader and/or get my PC to recognize the phone via WMDC.
Its just so unresponsive, All its doing is Vibrating constantly/Vibrating patterns/black illuminated screens/ & very rarely, the "Loading please wait" screen with the green android and some other figure I forgot in the bottom right corner. Then on the top it gets stuck on the "aMAGLDR v1.11" and other descriptive words/numbers below it, on the top center.

Hi, I'm new to XDA-developers forum, and I have 2 non-working HD2's that have been sitting around for quite some time now.
I've recently tried to get it fixed and get into this type of phone modding, as I can see HD2's are very popular for tweaking software's and such.
I have been searching around the web, more so the XDA forums, for answers to my "Special case" (yes I've seen the video when you first sign up for an account on XDA, quite funny ) of a conundrum...
Anyway, 1 HD2 is fully dysfunctional and shows no sign of life (No vibration/lights) but the lower portion of the back does get warm when I try and charge it. I have no hope for this HD2 and I think its only good for spare parts for someone else.
The other HD2 is "somewhat" functional. Sometimes if I get lucky it vibrates continuously or repetitively.
What I know about the half functioning phone:
Let my friend have it, he did some flashing of the ROM, it stopped working after awhile, and then he gave it back to me because he got another phone.
Sometimes after turning it on, it gets suck on the "aMAGLDR v1.11" screen.
I've searched up "MAGLDR" and know that its some kind of custom bootloader or so.
I've searched up how to update it to "MADLDR v1.13" and update the radio and/or use the "RUU-LEO" file.
I have all those files&programs downloaded and ready to go.
Thank you for reading my thread
It would be AWESOME if someone could help me, or even inform me of what has happened with it. If you need further answers about my two HD2's please ask me the questions, I would love to try and answer them!

Those repetitive vibrations on starting are not a good sign(usually it means a non/working CPU/motherboard)!
You should flash a stock ROM and see what happens, but I suspect it won't boot up and you'll get again those vibrations: it worth try it and let me know!
Good luck!

Are you able to get to the tricolored screen by holding the power button and the volume down button? If you can get there, you may be able to task29 it and flash it with a new radio. My guess is someone flashed it with the wrong radio. Once it has the correct radio, if there is no hardware damage, it should work again.

I broke my digitizer . I'll be interested in buying the completely dysfunctional one from ya . Send me a pm if you're interested .

Yes, after I posted this thread, I was able to get into the tricolored screen. After that I tried to update the MAGLDR to V1.13, the screen got into the HTC loading screen with a progress bar stuck at 0% then on the computer it says there has been a communication error.
So my problem now is communication from my HD2 to PC, Which is weird because on the tricolored screen, the text switched to USB and I thought I figured it out, but no...communication error.
I am willing to do Task29 but I'm not aware of the risks or precedures.

Ok first off go to here and download the HD2 NAND Toolkit then install it o. Your computer. Next open the toolkit and then connect your HD2 to your computer via USB. Then use the toolkit to run the Task 29. Be warned though the Task 29 will totally delete the ROM partition of the NAND memory in your HD2 so you will not have a ROM on the device then so it will not boot to anything but the bootloader. Next use the Toolkit to flash either a Window's Mobile ROM, MAGLDR, or clk, you can also use it to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery.

Ok, I have gotten the Tool kit but I wasn't able to perform task29.
I got a communication error again, I have tried to do task29 twice.
Here are some screenshots...

So my problem is still with the communication errors I keep getting if I try to do anything.
Is there anything I can do with the Micro SD card?

You can run a Task 29 via SD card. You need to go to here and download the Repack by ShaDrac. Then right click the file and unzip it. Then find the .nbh file and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and place it on the root of your SD card. Then boot into the bootloader and follow the on screen instructions.

Yeah that is it, just copy the .nbh file and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh. Then copy it to the root of your SD card.
Edit: Once the Task 29 is done your HD2 will only boot to the first splash screen and you will be able to boot into the bootloader also. This is because the Task 29 removed the ROM from your HD2 and you will have to re-flash clk or MAGLDR then a recovery and then a Android ROM. Or you can always flash as Windows Mobile ROM.

Alright, I got into boot loader mode, then it goes onto a completely white screen with "Loading..." on the top.
After 5 minutes or so, the screen turns off with no instructions to follow after "Loading...".
I pressed the power button to see if it still works and goes into the old MAGLDR v1.11 screen with no menus/options.
Am I suppose to keep holding the Vol down button or something, I think im doing it wrong
Edit: I charged the phone before trying it again for a few hours and I think it was on the white "Loading..." screen for the whole charge.
I don't know whats wrong with it :d

First off sorry for the lag in response but I went to sleep not long after I posted my last response last night. If you never saw a box appear on the HD2 screen that asks you if you wanted to install the update and to press the power button to do so, then you did not run the Task 29. I am pretty sure you didn't anyway because you said you could still boot into MAGLDR 1.11 and if you had run the Task 29 then MAGLDR would no longer be on your HD2.
When you boot into the bootloader by holding the volume down button down and powering on the HD2 continue to hold the volume button down until you see searching. When you see searching you can release the volume down button and then you should see the window pop up that ask if you want to install the update and if so to press the power button to continue. Press the power button and the Task 29 will run, you should see a progress bar on the screen of the HD2.
Once the progress bar is done the HD2 should restart, but it will not have a ROM to boot so just pull the battery to turn it back off. Next, if you want to use Android, you need to install MAGLDR 1.13 or clk. You can install either one of these via SD card, just like the Task 29 you will have to copy the .nbh file for the custom bootloader you want to use to the root of your SD card and rename it LEOIMG.nbh. Make sure to remove the LEOIMG.nbh file that you used for the Task 29. Personally I prefer clk cause it makes the HD2 run like a native Android device, but you are having a communication error so this may lead to problems if you use clk as you have to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery via USB when you use clk. You know I would suggest you try a different USB cable as you might just have as faulty USB cable and that is what is causing the communication error. I would highly suggest you do this before trying to do anything at all more with the SD card. If you try another cable and it does not work then your HD2 more than likely has a faulty mini USB port.
If you try another cable and it works you can just use the toolkit to run the Task 29 and then use it to install either MAGLDR 1.13 or clk and then Clockwork Mod Recovery.

Whoa, after I read your post, I went and found another cable, attached it to the PC and turned on my HD2, it goes to the MAGLDR v1.11, but it has the options where I can use the volume buttons to choose things which I have never seen on this phone before lol.
What do you suggest I do since the options came up.
Wipe it and do MAGLDR v1.13
Or do one of the options on the screen

Okay well I've tried to task29 w/ the new cable, and it still does a communication error so there might be a problem with the mini USB port.
I tried to do task29 again via sd card, and this time I held down the volume down button for like 5 minutes until my fingers slipped, but there was no "searching" screen, just a "Loading..." screen and then it turns off after 10 mins.
I'm trying to get into that MAGLDR screen again with the options but I don't know how to, it was just too random.

I kind of wonder if a wrong radio was flashed to the phone and it got semi-bricked. I bought a phone once that was like that and tried to repair it and was unable to. I think there are people out there that can jtag it.

Maybe dude, right now im just waiting until someone knows exactly whats wrong with my phone and if they can fix it :d
i did do something to the radio, but i made sure it was the correct version according to their list of radios and the radio listed on my phone.
Anyway, im pretty much stuck. cant wipe via USB cable, of 3 different kinds.
and i cant wipe via sd card either.

will go back a few years and try and find old posts on old Kaiser thread, this starts to sound familiar with white screen and comms fail,if I remember properly it was/is problem with spl/hspl.
can you post what info does show on any boot screen.
am busy at moment will try searching later tonight.

One time I was able to flash something onto the phone and it was the "Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14" thing...
I don't remember why I did this but I did made sure it was compatible and it worked.
So it may have been the radio, I am not sure.
I do have pics of the boot loader screen before and after the flash.

If there are no solutions, I might as well sell them both. Which I'm about to do real soon

Now i cant seem to do anything with the phone, its not bricked as par say, it will show the loading screen and then not move and i can access the bootloader with voldwn+powerbutton but nothing else is happening, I cant load new roms nothing. Im pretty lost here and really need some help of how i can get my phone back onto a winmo6.5 rom so i can remember not to try it again
I posted this in this thread as it does relate to an android situation.

Find Task29.exe with no radio. It's on this site somewhere. You will see some with radios attached to them, so don't use those. Just the plain old no radio version. It will wipe your phones internal memory and you will basically be starting from scratch. Nothing will be on your phone after a Task29. Then go into bootloader. How to enter boot loader after Task29- Once Task29 hits 96% (looks just like you are flashing a rom), hold volume down and power from 96% until it gets to 100% and the tri color bootloader screen pops up. It should say "USB" at the bottom after bootloader comes up if you are plugged into your computer. Then Flash MAGLDR 1.11 again. Then flash your NAND build.
You aren't bricked if you phone powers on.
What operating system is on your PC?
Well it does boot and if you have hspl you did a good job. So if you have magdlr you now need to install Android. Read a guide plzzz!

For task 29 do I have to have the phone connected via usb, because its not recognising it when its even in bootloader
task29.exe didnt work
Don't do task 29,you will just complicate your life even more than now. I don't think you know what you are doing.
You may brick your phone in the end do you have HSPL?

1st try entering the BOOTLOADER, by pressing the volume down power button simultaneously..!!!
Instead of TASK 29, try FLASHAHOLIC which will perform your TASK 29 & help you flash a WinMO 6.5 ROM as well..!!!
PS: - You can even flash custom ROM's, stock ROM's not compulsory..!!!

Well then re-install Active SYNC or try on a diff PC with Latest Active SYNC..!!!
If you can access your boot-loader your device ain't bricked..!!!
Just boot your phone with VolDown and enter USB mode, reflash MAGLDR 1.11, once this has completed reboot your phone and hold down the power button, you will then see the MAGLDR menu.
Then just follow instructions on how to install an nand rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
it might just be the magldr or NAND ROM not flashed properly. If you can get to Tri-Color bootloader you are fine.
Found out the problem, thanks for all of your help guys, it was the fact i didnt have hspl2 installed....newb points to me
I have exactly the same problem only difference with my problem is when hold vol down and power buttons all I get is the tri coloured screen and nothing else no bootloader menu appears at all.
What can I do? Is my phn dead???

That's exactly what is supposed to happen if you hold the vol down button while switching on. To get to the magldr menu you need to hold the power button in until it boots to the menu (no vol down button )
You guys are awesome!
I've been avoiding dealing with this phone for a while. This post came up first on google search. Held power and volume (mag 1.11 was on it) and upgraded it to 1.13 and now I'm golden! Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Potentially Unrecoverably HD2 Stuck In MAGLDR

Hi All,
For the past few months I've been running a DFT NAND build of Android. Yesterday, the phone was running extremely slowly with some odd behavior in the Android menus. When I restarted the phone, loading got as far as the DFT splash screen but then nothing else would happen.
I have since used MAGLDR (1.11) to attempt to boot a fresh Android image from SD card but this hasn't worked. Have managed to use the USB Loader to attempt to flash another NAND build (both Android and WP7) but even though the download process completed, this still didn't work and am stuck in MAGLDR now.
Have read through the forums here and have tried most (if not all) of the suggestions, however nothing seems to be working.
Can anyone offer anymore advice?
Thanks,
Kev
As MAGLDR gets removed if you flash a stock winmo rom I suggest you to try that!
Before you install the winmo rom you can also use Task29 to completely wipe the nand.
good luck
Thanks,
I shall give that a try this evening.
Kev
Unfortunately none of the suggestions have worked. I'm unable to flash a stock WM6.5 ROM as the RUU doesn't detect the phone.
The device does show up in Windows as a Microsoft USB Sync device, however.
Task 29 does not work either due to the same problem.
I've attempted to flash a new Android ROM release but when the phone reboots, it gets stuck on the green HTC logo screen and won't proceed any further.
I don't seem to be able to get MAGLDR 1.13 on the phone either, as DAF.exe complains about some "Config load failed" error.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Kev
*sigh*
you need to read up on "how to flash stock rom from sd card". no need for RUU i believe; sd card method involves copying a file extracted from the stock RUU and placing it in the root of your sd card and letting bootloader detect and flash the file. search for a tutorial or see the stickies.
once you've done that, make a special note about the part that says you need to boot into bootloader (hold down volume down + turn on phone + keep holding volume down until a 4-color screen appears). i suspect you are not doing this step, this is why windows, mtty, etc are unable to detect the device.
if you have already done the above, ignore my post
*sigh* too.
I've already tried flashing from the SD card but I have the same problem. I get to a green HTC loading screen and nothing else happens. I just get stuck in a reboot to MAGLDR and try again loop.
I've read through plenty of posts on flashing custom ROM's and troubleshooting but nothing has helped.
I don't get a 4 colour screen when holding down VOL-DOWN and the power button, the phone just goes into MAGLDR.
Kev
Just to add to that, Windows DOES detect the device but the RUU doesn't. Only the DAF applications find and can talk to the device.
follow me
1. is the battery have enough jiuce? what HSPL you use? hope its HSPL3 2.08HSPL
2. bootloader . . . .
Thanks for your post.
Plenty of juice in the battery.
I believe it is HSPL 2.08 (well, whichever allowed me to get Android on the thing in the first place)
Bootloader what?
Kev
getting into boot loader (4-color screen) is the key to the whole flash with sd card method.
keep trying. read on how to enter bootloader.
i can remember a few ways.
DEVICE IS ON
1. if phone is already on, hold down volume down (keep it pressed HARD)...don't let go of it!
2. push the little reset button under the battery cover. don't let go of the volume down button!
3. don't let go of the volume down button until the 4-color screen appears.
DEVICE IS OFF
1. remove the battery. reinsert it after a few seconds.
2. hold down volume down (keep it pressed HARD)...don't let go of it!
3. tap the end call button and don't let go of the volume down button until the 4-color screen appears.
remember, entering bootloader is the key.
EDIT: it is better to ensure you have sufficient battery. however, flashing via bootloader SKIPS the battery level checks.

in post 4 you noted you tried task 29 but was successful
you are not even familiar with bootloader, ??? makes me wonder
I'm very familiar with a bootloader, your "bootloader..." comment confused me.
Task 29 was unsuccessful. I've read in a number of posts that you can use Task 29 and start from scratch back at the original bootloader (rather than MAGLDR) but this obviously isn't the case.
Holding down the VOL-DOWN key does nothing other than get me to MAGLDR, which is what happens even if I don't hold any keys down.
I fully understand that the key is entering the bootloader, nothing seems to let me get there.

in this manner, there is only one thing i can think of
you got a bricked device,
you might get some help if you post your querry in the

I'm of the same opinion; it is virtually bricked.
The stupid thing is that if I select Android Flasher from MAGLDR, I'm able to flash a different version of Android to NAND but it just won't boot.
Will try a different forum.
Thanks,

i left my phone uncharged causing it freeze, so i reset it.
that when i took out the battery and ever since
when i try trying it on, it stood in the white tmobile screen.

First off your HD2 is not bricked. If it wax bricked it would not so much as turn on.To save your HD2 do one of these two things.
Download the official update from T-Mobile.com. Look behind your battery to find your IMEI number to enter. Next make sure your HD2 is good and charged I know this is hard as it will not boot but just let it charge for a good while as you do not want the battery to die during either method of flashing. Now while the phone is off hold the volume down button down and press the power button but keep holding the volume down button down. When the phone is in bootloader(multicolor screen) connect your phone to the computer via USB and wait for Serial in the white bar of the bootloader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognizes your phone then right click on the update package and click run as administrator and run the update utility. This should flash the stock ROM but if you have MAGLDR you will loose it and if you have HSPL you might lose it.
Now the secound option you have is to right click on the update package and click on view or explore wich ever one you see and find the RUU_signed.nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh or LEOIMG.nbh as it is not case sensitive. Then take a 500MB to 4GB SD card that is formated with Fat 32 and place it into a USB SD card reader and plug it into a USB port on your computer. If you are not sure about the format. Go to "My Computer" and find the card reader, it will be a removable drive or a mass storage device (make sure to make a back up copy of the intior contents of the SD card first as it will wipe the card clean)and right click on it and click format and then Fat 32. Copy the leoimg.nbh file to the root of the SD card. After coping it to the SD card place the card in your phone and put it into bootloader the same as mentioned above but keep the volume down button held down until you see searching on the phone screen and then let the volume down button go. You will have to press the power button to comfirm it. This should flash your phone to complete stock as it will remove MAGLDR, CWM, and HSPL if you have it on your phone.
There is other options to but I highly suggest going back to stock and then starting back over again as to me it just simplifies things some. Also seeing as you have a T-Mobile HD2 do not flash a radio that looks like any of these 2.04.50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any radio like this 2.xx.51.xx as any of these radios will brick a T-Mobile HD2.
after flashing it back to stock rom, can i flash an android rom again?
is there another way where i can skip the stock rom and just flash an android rom?

Yes you can reflash a Andriod ROM if you go back to stock but you would have to flash HSPL 2.08 again, flash MAGLDR 1.13 again, and CWM if you want to use it.
If you just want to flash another Andriod ROM just turn your HD2 off and then turn it back on button keep the power button down until the main menu of MAGLDR comes up (that is if you already have MAGLDR on your HD2) and then follow the instructions from the Andriod ROM on how to flash it using MAGLDR or CWM if you have it.
If you do not have HSPL and MAGLDR on your HD2 uou will have to flash both to hour HD2 befor you can flash a Andriod ROM. To flash these do this but your HD2 into bootloader (muticolor screen) and connect it to your computer via USB cable and wait to see USB in the white bar of the bootloader screen and that your computer recognizes your HD2 then flash wichever one you are wanting to flash. You will have to do this for every individual thing you want to flash. You also need to flash HSPL 2.08 first then MAGLDR 1.13 and then CWM if you want it.

No you have to have MAGLDR to install Android. Try installing Clock Work Mod (CWM) and use it to install your Andriod ROM. Just do a search for Clock Work Mod for HTC HD2. Then read and follow the instructions in the ROM thread to use CWM to flash it.
i have a few problems when trying to install any rom using magldr.
First, whenever i boot up to the magldr screen, sometime it will freeze and i have to take out my battery.
Second, When installing a rom, it gets stuck at "the booting android from nand 123456 go go go" screen.
What could be wrong with my magldr, i already tried to re-installing it and it still acts up.

Take your SD card out of your HD2 and then boot it up and see if you still have the problem. If it is gone you need to back up your SD card and do a full wipe of it and reformat it using your computer and a SD card reader. Format it Fat 32.

i tried that, and it seem to work, but it still often freezes on me during usage. For example, when i am on the android market, it tends to freeze up. is there any way i can fix this? and can you recommend me an android build that doesn't have this problem?

Run a task 29 on your HD2 then reclash MAGLDR and see if this helps it should, unless you have some bad boot sectors.
damn, i also tried that too, but it still freezes on me. i think i have a bad boot sector, how do i fix this?

Well you can not fix bad boot sectors persay witbout replacing the NAND memory chip which acrually requires the replacment of the intior mainboard of your HD2. Because you can not just replce the chip cause of the wah the mainboard is made. Wht you can do is use a JTAG device and some special software to go in and mark those sectors as bad so the phone will no longer try to use those sectors.

Bricked Phone - Did android NAND kill it?

My phone has been running an Android NAND for a couple of months, and the other day it just froze and then on rebooting i get a plain white screen.
I can get to the bootloader and so far nothing flashes to it
HSPL - Critical Error
SD-CARD flash - red numbers or just continual loading
USB flash - sits at 0% then gets error
so what killed my phone?
and is there ANY way i can get it working again, if not...i will throw it in the bin or perhaps smash it up with a hammer and post a youtube video here...im that annoyed! I wouldnt mind if i continually flashed roms, but i didnt...flashed on Android NAND and now its dead.
Find yourself a standard Winmobile rom and radio for the HD2 (if yours is a TMOUS device make sure you choose the correct radio and rom type for this device) and flash them to your device. With a bit of luck your device should then boot up.
If you then wish to go down the Android route again then read and follow all the instructions on here to do so. Don't forget to make sure your battery is fully charged before you attempt the reflash.
Good luck, hope it goes well.

Do you still have the Andriod ROM on your HD2? If so boot into MAGLDR by turning the HD2 off and then pressing andbolding down the power button. Then use the volume up and down keys to scoll through the menu and find recovery and press the send button to select.
If you nolonger have the Andriod ROM then I suggest running a Task 29 on your HD2 then try to flash the official ROM to your HD2. If you are still having trouble getting it to flash do not get discuraged just keep tring to get it to flash, heck trythe USB method for awhile then try the SD card method for awhile. For some unknown reason to me a lot of people here on XDA have been having trouble getting their HD2 to flash a ROM. But all of them just kept trying and eventually got it to flash a ROM. Best of luck.
tried and tried and tried again, anyone wants this brick for free, i will post.

Did you run a Task 29 on your HD2 as I mentioned in my previous post? I beleive this will help you out. Also if you still have MAGLDR on your HD2 you can try to reflash the Andriod ROM. If you no longer have MAGLDR on your HD2 then you can reflash HSPL 2.08 and reflash MAGLDR by usinig the bootloader and the try flashing the Adriod ROM. Just make sure the white bar of the bootloader screen says USB and not Serial before you try to flash anything.
T-Mac, I have this problem. It's not something as simple as with MAGLDR or CWM. You can't even get a bootscreen let alone flash anything from HSPL (everything sticks at %0) lol.
Dude, your best bet is to try go flash a custom WinMo ROM. I used one of Artemis' ROM's. It had a .nbh file so I renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh and put on my SD card (512-4GB max) and then boot to HSPL and it'll allow you to flash the ROM.
It'll flash correctly but once it reboots it'll go back to the white screen. After that, it'll be able to charge when off so let it charge overnight while off, then in the morning try unplug the USB from the phone then pull battery and put it back in then try boot. It worked like 3 times for me so you might aswell try it.
I personally think it's a problem with MAGLDR and maybe it becomes corrupt or something.
hi
im gonna try this now, but i have a small problem...it did flash HSPL and now it is on 2.08.000 and it wont flash back
its one nightmare after another.
made a little progress, when trying to flash stock rom from sd it just sits on loading.... no error but doesnt do anything else.
Try this turn your HD2 off and remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then put the battery back in. I do not know if the HD2 has a reset like this or not. But a lot of electronicsreset certain things when all power is disconnected. This may not help but what can it hurt. Best of luck.

I'll take it. In this day of T-Mo being sold off, I need a challenge to distract me and keep me happy

Issue with an HD2 bootloader!

Okay i have a question, my friend brought me an hd2 phone similar to the one i have. Thing is that he tried to install android on it and im not sure what he did wrong. I can reach MAGLDR when i turn on the phone but it wont boot on android and or reach the bootloader no matter what i do. Question is, is there anyway to flash a bootloader via the usb flasher on MAGLDR or is the phone simply bricked because of that?? By the way yes i have taken the battery out tons of times and tried to turn on with button down and power and even tried the reset button on the back of the phone without luck.

Try only holding the volume down and plugging the phone into a computer. If that doesn't work, you can install different android ROM's through recovery and some old ones even flash through usb flasher. It was probably a bad install and at least it will boot into android when you clean flash a different ROM.
Hey thanks for the fast response. Ok the thing is, that he installed MAGLDR 1.11. And i cant see any option to get into AD recovery. But to be honest ive never used 1.11 before so i dont know if its possible to use cwm with it. Anyways, I tried with 2 different roms via usb flasher but it wont load android. In fact, when i turn it on and it boots everything seems to be fine. After the GO GO GO it will just show the DFT logo and it stays like that. I tried the DLdesire rom earlier and now it wont show the DFT logo but the DLdesire one. But it just stays there and thats it. Like i said, I cant reach the bootloader and im afraid i wont be able to update MAGLDR to 1.13.
That takes me to antoher question. Will MAGLDR work even when maybe he didnt install HSPL? Because the only thing i can think of is that maybe he didnt. Oh well, who knows what was done to that phone . Anyways if someone have gone thru something similar please i need advice.
Hspl and radio must be already correct since magldr starts. The phone would go immediately to the splashscreen and hang there if either were wrong. You wouldn't see magldr at all.
" ad recovery" is only an option in magldr 1.13,, for 1.11 you would find the SD card version of cwm and start it by choosing "ad SD" in magldr.
As for "can't enter bootloader" ( I assume you're doing it right... voldown held, power tap and release) the only time I've seen that fixed was recently when a Guy disconnected the hard key ribbon cable, but that could be a fluke/totally different problem, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Ok so if im getting into MAGLDR it means that even though i cant reach the bootloader i can still flash a rom and it will work. So far i have tried a couple roms via usb flasher and none of them work.
Also, im looking up in google for the SD version of CWM for about an hour now and all i can find is the magldr 1.13 tutorials and stuff like that. Is there a special version of CWM for SD and if so, can someone provide a link on that?
Look for the thread titled something like "clockwork recovery yes/no " (look for the yes/no part especially) there are three versions in there, nand flash, update.zip and SD versions.
As for using USB flasher to flash roms, as far as I know only the first, proof of concept rom uses USB flasher mode,, all the recent roms are flashed from SD card through cwm.
Allright thanks a lot m8! you have been very helpful... happy new year by the way!
Okay, i still have issues with the HD2. I know im doing everything the way its supposed to be, and still when i hit AD sd the phone will do everything fine and even the GO GO GO message but still no recovery at all. If i try to install a sd type rom it will boot up to the Roms splash screen but that is it, it wont go further. What i dont understand is that MAGLDR will work just fine, adn when i flash anything the phone will take it with no errors. But then it wont load the recovery and or specific rom... Any ideas what might be???? Just remember, im not able to boot from the bootloader so im trapped inside MAGLDR.
