FFS, there is no 'best ROM'! You will get thousands of different answers, and this has been asked and explained so many times before. Have you even bothered searching?
All I can say is WATCH THIS VIDEO
Well that wasn't very nice would've preferred 2 be rickrolled but anyway I'm new 2 the thread so I don't understand much

I see, but there are hundreds of threads like this, so please search before posting.
Anyways... I would recommend cm7 roms. As they are the most stable and fastest roms.
Try hyperdroid or nexushd2.

Okay then thanks for the help I'll do some searching

That depends on what you want and like. If you want the newest of the newest android, go for a Ice CreamSandwitch (ICS, android 4.x). I think it is not completely there yet for a normal user to use it on a daily basis. Personally i like the Cyanogenmod (CM) roms and don't like the normal gingerbread roms that much and roms that use Sense.. But it's all personal taste.
Basically you need to choose between the following sorts of roms:
- Cyanogenmod ICS, ICS, Cyanogenmod, gingerbread or Sense.
- Looks (Miui, sense) or performance
- The default kernel
I like the following roms: Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END, HyperDroid-CM7,
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7, NexusHD2-Gingerbread, NDT MIUI.
If you don't know what to choose from, go for a rom that has a lot of views/replys in it's thread and see if you like what you see.
cm2.3.7
or
miui 2.3.7
ics has some problems..
Miui seem to be most stable on mine with best battery life... had to move on tho screen cracked

I using official CM7 rom for a while, but now i find out more and more "ports" for G2. So i wonder what is best CM7 based rom with best battery life (or ROM + kernel + CPU settings)
tnx for all suggestion (i try only SuperCM7 and battery is much better then official CM7)
It's all a matter of preference. And had you used the search function, then you would have seen the numerous threads with this exact title, even.
The best CM7 based ROM is.... CM7!! I run the nightlies I'm very happy with them I like being on the bleeding edge of updates though.
but yes, been posted a million times with the same answers. Just head to the dev section and try em out for yourself see what you like. This is what nandroid backups are for.

I agree with you.
I am a recent convert to the Nightlies -- I don't flash each one, however.
I monitor the thread in G2 Android Development and install when a bunch of bug fixes hit (or there's a fix for something that really bugs me) or there's some cool new feature I want to try.
Ultimate Droid rom u wont find it on xda though
Checkout meXdroid V4.1. Its on rom manager now. Fits your descriptions. Over a 1000 downloads on rom manager in less than a week!

Lets see how many users are using Custom Rom , Stock Samsung ROM , MIUI or CM7....
Vote at your will.
Using my own custom sammy rom . I like to put my own touch to them lol. CM7 is ok but i find anything AOSP roms have flaws but props to the devs.

My custom ROM too. Aosp.
Sent from HydrOG3N MOD S2.
Technology Evolves, Android Evolves.
HydrOG3N is THE Revolution.
Oxygen 2.3.2, or HydrogenMod.
Aosp for me all the way.
Regards
To be fair, stock would be the most used rom.

Heh, true that. I guess most people are just using stock roms, maybe with a custom kernel. This phone works fine the way it is actually, there are just some little flaws that can be fixed with a couple of hacks, and some colours which are a bit out place, but we have some nice themes after all.
Aosp roms are blazing fast tho, really unrivaled in terms of smoothness if you wanna play games...the problem with those is that they aren't 100% bug free as the ones i was using on my Desire, so i find it hard to use them as a daily driver for more than a few days every now and then on this particular phone.
Hyperdroid androidmeda with speedmod kernel.

Galnet MIUI ICS builds. Far better than anything else.
stock 2.3.5 PT + juicedefender
thats it
checkk
CheckROM with ICS syndicate theme work perfect for me!
You're going to get a biased result asking on xda, as its where people who like modding go. Most users will not know about xda or bother with custom roms and be using stock

im a little bit confused because i come from nexus one, where the biggest part use CM builds, but here there seems to be a more even distribution among users..... any special reasons?

I prefer Samsung custom roms because they are so freakin smooth. Excellent stock browser, I love TouchWiz and the launcher, superb camera interface, and an awesome video player app.
Hyperdroid all the way-official ROM of the 2012 Olympics.
You guys wants me to add more poll items for Custom Stock ROM ?
I'm trying out omega and liking it so far,
Reason why the large distribution is because really, the phone works as is pretty well. It just needs a few tweaks to get rid of that garbage late night battery full alert and a couple other things. Since most people are looking for stock + tweaks, there's a lot of different tweaks available.
WajkIUI... i hope the spelling is right.. excellent ROM

Hello, i just want to ask what do you think is the best working android rom for hd2??
i like dornimanx (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948)
for it's speed, and is very stable
But if you like sense 3.5 i would go for (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275119)
this one is also very stable and with lots of Eyecandy
My favorite was AmeriCanAndroid's : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209474
All are going to say their favourite, there is no such thing as best.
It is up to you.
For instance, I prefer HyperDroid.
One more quetion, what apps do you use for GPS navigation on android??

gingerbread
i like dornimanx (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1166948) too
Ics
i like tytung (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860) work fine
So far i've tried only 2 roms coredroid's and mikhei77's. Both are sense roms. I'm thinking of trying non-sense roms. Anyone have suggestions? Sense roms have problem on wifi tethering. I've read Nexus's have a working wifi tethering. How abt others?
For gps navigation i'm using papago x5 sad that it's no longer supported by the developer.

Saying "the best" rom on HD2 u have to be meaning "the best personal choice".
For example i have been trying lots of WM roms before coming to Android.
Tried PRJ Android, didnt like it. Then i came back to WM again.
Finally tried out NexusHD2 GingerBread 2.3.7 and im staying on it and now i recommend it ;] it's really worth a try even only if u are going to change it for another distribution of Android :]

This kind of threads are very subjective and provide nothing to development. Please use search function before open a new thread. Closed
Dear Valued users
Which version of unofficial android do you advice me to use? keeing in mind that it is fully functional and nothing is missing.
Thanks

The question or which ROM is the stablest is one of those very subjective things. "Stable" means different things to different people, though the Gingerbread ROMs tend to be the most bug-free and feature-complete. There is a ROM index at the development forum listing most of the ROMs available here. Just try a few for yourself.
Well Ok then I mean , Which is the most feature complete??

Like I told you, the Gingerbread ROMs (though the ICS ones are also quite stable and the JB ones are getting there). Beyond that, I strongly recommend that you try several out for yourself. The development forum's index will be a good resource. Additionally, each ROM's thread's first post will describe the highlights of that particular ROM. The most active ROMs will be clustered around the top of the dev forum.
Thanks pal

I have used BlackOut Incredible v3.1, Sabsa Prime v5.0 and TrickDroid v1.1.1.. I advise you to use TricDroid if you want sense 4 and BlackOut Incredible if you want sense 3.6. Both are stable.
Here is an up-to-date list of HTC Desire HD Custom ROMs from XDA.
Here are a few older custom ROM screenshots.
I enjoyed MIUI (Gingerbread version) for ages. The ICS version is also good. Many people like CyanogenMod. As people have said, it's a personal thing based on how you enjoy the feel and look of the UI.
I currently enjoy using Blackout ICS Incredible v3.1.0 which is my first HTC Sense ROM in a long time.
Hopefully ROM threads include screenshots for you to get an idea of things. For the other specs or included or missing things, you need to read the thread.
Of course all of the Desire HD XDA ROMS are listed in the Desire HD Android Development section.
Should it be a rom with sense or not? I would try cayanogen mod 7.2 or andoird revolution hd. but by the way, you are the only one who can say that is good for you
Thanks all. That was very kind of all of you

You've been here long enough to know that there is NO 'best' or 'fastest' ROM. It's subjective and the answer varies from user to user. I think the easiest thing to do would be to quote myself here:
Nigeldg said:
Hey, what's the best colour?
What's the best food?
What's the best phone?
What's the best song?
What's the best movie?
What's the best car?
OH WAIT, YOU CAN'T ANSWER BECAUSE IT'S AN OPINION BASED QUESTION!
Seriously, I'm getting really tired of these best ROM threads. There is no correct answer, and yet you people still create them. All that happens is that they're closed by a mod or they turn into 10 post spam threads where new users open old threads to post questions in the dev forums. If you just wanted the ROM most people use then why not look at the thread view count and post count?
To quote PG101 (I think) 'coming to XDA and asking for the best ROM is like going into a bar full of drunks and asking what's the best drink'.
I wouldn't have posted this if you had admitted in post #6 that you're wrong through Marvlesz and Kameirus's pure logic, but you've somehow tried to justify posting an idiotic question which is quite annoying.

this is based on Lastest CM7 Build, so this is NOT ICS, this is Gingerbread...

I think this has gone on long enough. There is no 'best' ROM, there are only favorite ROMs. Thread closed.
