[SOLVED] Google Prepaid Card Image Blank/White - Nexus S General

Hi all,
After waiting for weeks and finally successfully provisioning my Google Wallet prepaid card, the card image is blank anywhere its displayed, and the card carousel, and the help menu, and transactions, including etc. I'm on a Nexus S i9020a with Android 2.3.6 Stock, no root with the Google Wallet fix that was kindly uploaded to XDA. I was in this same situation months ago, and but the card image was there.
What could be the problem? Thanks so much in advance!

mine is doing the same... had it setup and working fine on rooted and unlocked stock 4.0.2 gnex... Then i decided to finally install a custom rom (aokp milestone 4). During restore process, market automatically downloaded and installed wallet. Then i used titanium backup to restore data only. my wallet seems to be setup fine and shows my remaining balance that i had prior to custom rom install. The only thing that seems strange is the image for the prepaid google card is white/blank...
Any ideas?
PS. I've tried all combinations of titanium backup data only, app and data, clearing cache/data...
Also, I am in canada and spoof t-mobile with market enabler to get it working...

UPDATE: i was able to solve this problem by resetting wallet from within the wallet app, then re-signing into my gmail acount... it downloaded my profile from money network and shows my proper balance and the image of the google prepaid card...

I tried doing exactly that, and I even called the money network but they're suggestions also did not work, and I don't really know what else to do. I'm also in Canada, but thank you very much though for your suggestion. :-D

[Q] can't setup google account

So for the past few months I've been messing with different roms and accidentally setup one of my roms with a different email and bought the app chandroid. When I reverted to the main Rom I use chandroid wanted me to update so I tried but since I bought it under a different account it wanted me to buy it again. I found that the new market let's you switch between emails so I installed it but was unable to download or update any app.
This is where all the trouble started. I went to Google for answers and someone suggested clearing the data in the market. After doing this market would just say an error has occurred and shuts down. I then tried a factory reset. When I go to setup the account it says can't establish a reliable data connection. I understand this is a known problem but its different from my problem because even factory reset won't fix it. I've tried the YouTube method as well to no avail. One of my roms didn't come with the YouTube app and when I tried downloading it it said I already had it but it was no where to be found under app management.
The only luck I have had is with the muiu Rom. I was able to setup the account but that Rom looks too much like the iPhone and I prefer cyanogen 7 mod. I have factory reset, wiped cache, reinstalled rom. The only way market works is when I reinstall backed up roms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So basically you have a problem with the market app? or your google account?
because if you have paid fopr an app on a different email account, you can just save the apk and reinstall it.

It was installed. The problem is that it uses Google to authenticate the app and I can't setup my Google account so it can't authenticate. When I factory reset I get the message can't establish data connection. My internet works perfectly fine. Right now I just want a clean install of cyan 7 with the new market. I installed gapps as well and still same problem.
I really don't care about the app anymore since I installed 4chon. I just want my market to work again.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've tried everything possible as far as I know.
Okay so I figured it out. What I had to do was unroot my phone. Just download the PC36IMG.zip online and put it on the root of your sdcard. Go into clockworkmod by powering the phone off and then holding the down vol. and pwr button at the same time untill the hboot screen shows up. It will automatically detect it and just say yes when it asks you to install it. When it's finished you have to either delete the PC36IMG.zip file or rename it otherwise everytime you reboot the phone it will reinstall it. That's not a very good fix but as I am the only person I know of who has had this problem I do not see a better fix anytime soon.

[Q] Unfortunately, Samsung Hub has stopped!!!!!

Hello guys,
In advance, thank you for your time and help. Here's the deal. I am fairly new to the rooting business. I did a root using Towel Root. I had everything correct on my phone( regarding Super SU). I started messing around with Wan am Exposed and some other rooted apps. Long story short I did something do take auto rotate off of my phone completely unless it was forced through(as it is in the Netflix app.) I started to back everything up with the intent to just completely reset everything and start fresh. Well when I did that, I now get the Unfortunately, Samsung Hub has stopped working. It literally pops up again once I hit OK. It is making my phone completely unusable. I believe I may need to re-flash my binaries but I am not 100% sure. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!! :crying:

I have the same problem and it is extremely frustrating because the popup never goes away, it keeps popping back up making the phone useless. I managed to get it to quit by rebooting several times but eventually it comes back. I have rooted the phone with Towelroot but I don't think that is the problem. I have not changed any of the factory apps but I did install and then uninstall a couple of apps that I didn't want. I've read about this problem on other forums so I know others are also experiencing this problem. Hopefully someone with come up with a solution soon.

Thanks JD,
I've thought about ODIN but not sure what to do with it.
A little tutoring would help.

I think I found an easier way using Titanium Backup. I found Samsung Hub in the list, clicked on it and then hit the highlighted Restore button. It is probably too early to tell if that fixed the problem. If it comes back I will post here.

Since I started having the Samsung Hub problem, my screen does not rotate. I've looked at everything I can think of to change that back to auto rotate. No luck and I'm assuming it is related to the Samsung Hub problem. Restoring Samsung Hub with Titanium Backup did not fix the problem. So either the auto rotate problem is not related or restore did not work. Anybody know how to get my phone to Auto-Rotate again?

Ok the problem is back.
I tried to uninstall SoftCard and the instant it started uninstalling that app, the "Unfortunately Samsung..etc." came back with continuous loops. I rebooted and now Softcard in downloading from play store??? And the Samsung loops are continuing. I am going to take the battery out and see if that will stop the looping. That worked in the past. This is getting frustrating
I know im kind of late but I figured it out. I updated my Samsung Hub app and it fixed that issue. Unfortantly my phone stopped reconizing my gmail aka i could not use my play store. It kept saying that I needed to check with AT&T to add data to my account, although I know for a fact I have data( I am on the unlomited data plan). Even connected to wi-fi I recived this error. To fix that issue I re-flashed my stock binaries. VHOLA!! All of my headachs were gone.

Just for future reference and my 2ยข, I personally think restoring apps is bad practice. For the exact reason you had to reflash. Especially ones that you can just download again, then change a few settings.
Thanks for the info. I've restored the Samsung Hub app a couple of times now and I don't seem to be having anymore problems. If it happens again I will update the app from Play Store

Google play services has stopped... Phone unusable

Does anyone know a fix for this error that constantly pops up?

i must have deleted the messages but what happened with your phone is either you deleted an important file/app or your rom didnt install correctly most likely though it was the first one

You need to tell us more about your setup. What software version, stock? Bootloader version? If you are running OTA OG5, then first try to remove your google account, then clear data for Google play services and Google play store. Reboot, add Google account back and see. If not working then factory reset.
It ended up being an xposed module causing the issue.

Device lockout

Have a Moto X Pure (XT1575). Was running L the I did OTA to MM. Everything working great. Unlocked bootloader - Good. Installed TWRP - Good. Installed TruPureXMM and ran it without issue for full day signed into my google account. Factory reset and can no longer activate the device. Says to sign in with owner account which is my account. How do I fix this?
That's weird after I unlocked my bootloader it never asked me that again. But just Put Your Gmail account that you previously used
I've tried my account. Always comes back with same error. Even when I choose the "what's my account" link or whatever it says it shows my phone number and my account but does not get past that screen. Have tried factory resetting it multiple times. Nothing!

When I logged in I had to go to this link to unlock my google account for phone activation.
https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
Also make sure you are on WiFi
ive had this problem... only way i can seem to fix it to to do a factory reset inside the phone while running (not in TWRP). hopefully you have a backup. this deletes the google account.
I figured the issue was on Google's end so I ended up just flashing the CM13 alpha build available for our XT1575 w/o GAPPS and was able to get everything working even after flashing a gapp package. Going to try going back to stock again tonight and hopefully Google lets me back on otherwise CM13 it stays. (Which is running pretty great for me!)
I got locked out of my device last night. I was able to use the restore to stock tool, then flash SlimLP and gapps and sign into my google account. From what I've read the lockout should only last 72 hours. Can anyone confirm?

Just got this phone today and now I have the OPs issue. I guess there isn't a work around for this?

Looks like I'm waiting 72 hours.
If you are unlocked and have a rom with USB debugging turned on, you can get out of the mess. See my post at the TruPureXMM thread.

After 72 hours I was able to sign into google. I was able to confirm the security lockout by logging into google on the computer, I was alerted that a unknown device tried to log into my account and that I needed to secure my account.

Question about flashing Android P (preview #2)

It's been a while since I've flashed a ROM, and I've forgotten a couple of things. I'm thinking of trying preview #2 of Android P on my PH-1.
After I've played around with Android P, I expect I'll want to return to where I am now on Oreo 8.1. I know I'll need to reload 8.1 from an official image file and that my data and (most) apps will have skedaddled.
Question: What's the best way to (1) back up and (2) restore my Oreo 8.1 system exactly as I have it?
I'm not planning to root this phone, though I've rooted several in the past. Can I back up and restore without rooting?
Thanks.
If you use stock launcher and without root, I don't see how you can get everything exactly as it was. But you can get almost everything except the actual placement of apps on screen with the default Google back up. You get all your apps, call history, sms, network configuration, etc.
---------- Post added at 01:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:09 PM ----------
By the way, I've been using P for three days. So far, I find no good reason to go back. My only bug is that Google Pay doesn't work.
Thanks, pmicho. I'll probably go ahead with the preview.

Just in case if you want Google Pay to start working, flash magisk 16.4 and reboot twice until the safety net starts passing.

P preview #2 passes safety net ?
Thanks, guys. I sideloaded the P preview 2 just now and it went fine.
Last night I had tried the fastboot method and my results weren't as good. Wifi didn't work, for some reason. Anyway, after two failed fastboot attempts, I re-flashed stock 8.1 and used Google's backup to restore most data and apps.
Then this morning I decided to use the sideload method, which was far easier and which didn't touch my data. Why doesn't Essential recommend this method instead of providing detailed instructions for the fastboot flashing method?
To use magisk you need a custom recovery and unlocked bootloader. I feel I don't need root so I keep my bootloader locked. Wit a locked bootloader there shouldn't be safety net issues. In fact, I think its not safety net issue that causes Pay to not work.4

Magisk passes SafetyNet. That's why Pay, Snapchat, etc, have worked previously. I believe Pay just isn't working with P at the moment.

Ewwww.
P preview 2 definitely did not pass the safety net for me, I'm assuming that's why it caused Google pay to stop working. After rooting with magisk, Google Pay started working just fine.
