Have a Moto X Pure (XT1575). Was running L the I did OTA to MM. Everything working great. Unlocked bootloader - Good. Installed TWRP - Good. Installed TruPureXMM and ran it without issue for full day signed into my google account. Factory reset and can no longer activate the device. Says to sign in with owner account which is my account. How do I fix this?
That's weird after I unlocked my bootloader it never asked me that again. But just Put Your Gmail account that you previously used
I've tried my account. Always comes back with same error. Even when I choose the "what's my account" link or whatever it says it shows my phone number and my account but does not get past that screen. Have tried factory resetting it multiple times. Nothing!

When I logged in I had to go to this link to unlock my google account for phone activation.
https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
Also make sure you are on WiFi
ive had this problem... only way i can seem to fix it to to do a factory reset inside the phone while running (not in TWRP). hopefully you have a backup. this deletes the google account.
I figured the issue was on Google's end so I ended up just flashing the CM13 alpha build available for our XT1575 w/o GAPPS and was able to get everything working even after flashing a gapp package. Going to try going back to stock again tonight and hopefully Google lets me back on otherwise CM13 it stays. (Which is running pretty great for me!)
I got locked out of my device last night. I was able to use the restore to stock tool, then flash SlimLP and gapps and sign into my google account. From what I've read the lockout should only last 72 hours. Can anyone confirm?

Just got this phone today and now I have the OPs issue. I guess there isn't a work around for this?

Looks like I'm waiting 72 hours.
If you are unlocked and have a rom with USB debugging turned on, you can get out of the mess. See my post at the TruPureXMM thread.

After 72 hours I was able to sign into google. I was able to confirm the security lockout by logging into google on the computer, I was alerted that a unknown device tried to log into my account and that I needed to secure my account.

The usual problem - I flashed a custom ROM, signed into my gmail account, then restored the backup of my main ROM,
Now I can't install apps from a PC browser on G Play, it works fine on the phone, just not from the PC
I've cleared cache, data of play store and google services from the phone
Remove my account and re-added it
Removed all devices permissions from my account and set them back up
rebooted the phone
Ive run out of ideas, anyone know what's up?
The device shown in my account is saying it's last access was the 26th, which was about when I flashed that custom ROM, so I'm guessing it's still not seeing my current ROM even after all of that
PITA Google, why make things so complicated ?
Anyone know how to remove that old device and force it to see my current one?

I've fixed it, there was no error, it just refused to detect the phone at all, when I pressed INSTALL on the website, it only gave options of my old April 26th ROM, not my current one
Finally after booting to recovery and clearing all caches, then opening Play store app on the phone, it finally (After 20 tries) detected the phone again and works as it should
That's 2 days of using my phone, that the play store web version failed to detect the phone at all
Come on Google, get it sorted, this has been going on for years, I remember the same problem back in 2012 with my tablet
Hello,
Got my Nexus 6P for about a week now, really happy with it. I installed the android beta program on it and that went well. Decided that I wanted to go back to Marshmallow since some of my apps did not work yet with the N preview. I removed my device from the beta program and seconds later recived the OTA to get back to MM. Install went fine until I saw the boot screen: Please log-in with your google account.
Since I use a password manager I changed my google account password to something simple just for this sign-in. I entered my email and password and it said: please sign in with the owners account. This startled me because I am the owner and this is the google account I used on the phone before.
Ofcourse I went googeling fo answers and then found this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...ne-you-might-trip-a-72-hour-security-lockout/
Can anyone confirm this? Is the only way to fix this by waiting three days till thursday?
Thanks!
Hey,
my OnePlus 2 was driving me crazy so I had to factory reset it.
After that I was asked to log in to my old Google account, which I did, but it wasn't accepted. It said I have to use the account that was used before. I'm a 100% sure that I used the correct account, though.
I tried to bypass the authentication by using the keyboard settings method. I've also tried to flash a ROM via recovery and fast boot, but the bootloader wasn't unlocked, so that didn't work either.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it?
I'm using a OnePlus 2 A2001 with the newest OxygenOS version.
Thank you in advance!
/EDIT: Okay, the problem is fixed, but I don't really understand how. After rebooting the phone I was able to configure the settings, but after that I was asked to log in to my old Google account again. After I tapped the button to log in the same message popped up over and over again. I decided to reboot the phone again and got to the home screen immediately, everything works fine now.
I noticed I started having this issue since rooting, then upgrading to the latest OTA update, and trying to install Pixelize. I can not access just about anything, but a prompt to sign-in comes up. I do so. I enter the right password. Then second factor authentication comes up. I've tried several options. Google authenticator app... which I don't understand how to use. So I did the text message. I got the text, and I was re-directed to sign into my Google account again, with my password, then two factor authentication again. This is a loop process. I've tried restarting and wiping cache. Is there anything else I can try?

You might want to install a rom that has Pixel features like Cortex rather than modding stock. You can also sign into your Google account on a computer and turn off two step verification, which might help.

The other thing you could try is removing your hosts file then rebooting . In Root Explorer the file is located under root tab in etc folder.
Hi!
I recently bough Oneplus 8T. I was using it for about 2 weeks. Everything stock, no modifications. Today (13 March, 2022) I unlocked bootloader ( and before entering fastboot to unlock the bootlader, I didn't manually delete google account from it). It worked OK. I booted into the same OS, logged in. Everything was working. Then I followed THIS guide to downgrade from OxygenOS 12 to OxygenOS11. I downloaded the Apk for local update, then downloaded the Downgrade package, inserted that package to this app, it loaded successfully and then I rebooted (again, I didn't delete Google account manually). It worked well: first it booted into recovery and wiped data itself, then rebooted again into OxygenOS 11. Now here's the problem. I connected to the Wifi, moved forward, and then I had a prompt "Verify PIN. Your phone was reset to factory settings. To use this phone, enter your previous PIN." The thing is, I'VE NEVER SET UP ANY PIN CODE. I WAS ALWAYS USING THE SAME PATTERN. But I noticed "Use my Google account instead" below this message. I thought, "thanks God". I clicked that, I entered my gmail, my password ( I'm using only 1 gmail, I've never had any other gmail). I logged in to Google account successfully, but it says "Please sign in using one of the owners accounts to continue" and jumps back to the google account login prompt. Well, I am the only owner, because It's brand new phone, I also use only one gmail, so I couldn't missmatch accounts. In this moment, my phone is just useless piece of metal and glass. I can't use it. Can anyone help me please? Thank you in advance.

[EDIT] Google is so smurfing smurf. They just make noobs like me go crazy, and get heart attack, in fear of loosing phone. All I did was followed THIS video, which uses "exploit" to enter chrome-> settings -> disable google play services, and then you can log in normally, and factory reset within system, which removes google account properly. LOL
