the hell
Same rumor running amok, but baseless rumors aside, would it be that surprising that a Verizon Nexus S will take advantage of a network which Veriz. is about to push hard (LTE/"4G")? Will Samsung's processors be optimized by February for different network's "4G"?
It's entirely possible, even understandable.
This could be true, but I bet Verizon will want Google to plaster their logo on it and give it some "features"(bloatware) only available on Verizon. Also, there is no way Samsung would ever have that much time to optimize a new radio in 2 months without them ****ing up:
"Dear Samsung, my 4g radio keeps going out please fix it!"
Fix? Oh just use 3g, you now have a 3g enabled device.
Just an example that you can't rush things like that. Unless they have been working real closely with Samsung to deliver a 4g enabled Nexus S. A Nexus S sounds a little more realistic but a 4g Nexus S sounds pretty much unimaginable. Notice how Samsung didn't even put the HSPA+ on this one, you really think they are going to make their second flagship device not have 4g and make a new edition that does the some minor changes(like an iPhone)?
Im sorry but Tmobiles HSPA 7.2 is plenty fast,

I doubt it. Why would they want a google flagship phone. There are rumors that they are getting the iphone. May go to sprint?

Verizon getting their version of the Nexus-S would not surprise me one bit if they did.
Remember, Verizon had their own version of the Nexus-1 as well... called the HTC Incredible

And max out on 10, if lucky. Vibrant maxed at 7.2mbps. G2 hit 10. Nothing higher. And probably won't be.
Even then, holy cow guys. 7.2mbps is super fast. Guess what Verizon does? 1-2. Guess what AT&T does? 1.3~? Guess what Sprint "4g" does? Honestly dunno but I'm assuming 2-6.
T-Mobile was already lightning fast before this whole "4g" talk and I have no complaints. 7.2mbps on my cell phone is fast enough for the next... year. Of course then I'll be buying the Nexus 3.
i get like 2-3mbs on the myTouch 3g Slide and i dont complain about it. Im in NY I would think i be getting higher.

In Corona CA/LA area i get 5-6 mbs down and 1.3 up
it should be noted that mbs/kbps is not a very true depiction of data transfer

Doubt Verizon is gonna get the Nexus S. You guys do know that, so far, the last two Samsung Android phones Verizon released had Bing on it, right? Also, none of them had the Droid name. I don't know if Verizon would want to change that pattern.
So how do you like the sprint coverage in your area. My contract is up and att has better coverage in my area. Anything bad about att. There new htc evo clone is coming out soon.

If your poor sprint coverage is just a problem in your house you can let them know and they will send you an antenna that "piggy backs" off of your broadband. Will give you full bars in and around your house. But if your general region has bad signal a new carrier might be the answer.
What is this new AT&T evo clone you speak of?

Whatever coverage is best is what you should get. Company perks and phones don't mean anything if you can't use it.
As far as comparisons - Sprint is cheaper and has yearly upgrades. AT&T was just voted worst in every state in the US on it's network. Verizon is first, Sprint is second and T-Mobile is third.
The new htc phone is on att website. Its the same size as the evo with 16gb internal storage. It will also be able to use att lte whenever it rolls out.

You know I like you, I'm not bashing. But I have to ask.. Amidst all the discussion about Sprint changing their "Premier" program why would you, of all people, be selling others on yearly upgrades when that is available only to people who have the most expensive plans..
smh @ Sprint
OP- imo, Sprint is still the best service provider. If you get a spring Sprint signal then stock with them, just don't get your hopes up on that annual upgrade.

Only person that I get disconnected with is my wife....who still has at&t.

But it sounds like it is the Aluminum Uni-Body like the Desire HD which is pretty cool.
I love Sprint now that I have the Airave. When I moved to my new place, I had one bar if I was lucky, and it didn't make sense to walk out into the courtyard to make calls all the time. I just called to cancel due to lack of service, and was sent a free Airave. Set it up, and it's been the best thing ever.
OP, I just switched over from AT&T. My whole family has been on AT&T pretty much since they became a carrier. I've had their phones for at least 10 years. Loved my Tilt and Fuze to death but their service was horrible. My uncle has to drive 2 hours for work and would drop calls 4-5 times along the way. Since switching over to Sprint he's dropped none. I'd have the same call drop issue, even just sitting on my couch at home, no issue since coming to Sprint.
Also, just something an AT&T sales rep at a corporate store mentioned, AT&T is starting to worry about going out of business. From what the rep said, they're pretty sure most iPhone users will switch to Verizon once they get the phone. Mostly because of the poor customer service AT&T offers. Even the rep admitted that their way of looking at things was pretty much that they're the only carrier that offered the iPhone and could get away with the poor service since people wanted the phone so bad. Now with Verizon getting it, they're kind of SOL.
I don't know if the rep was just assuming things, or if that's something AT&T is truely concerned about. Either way, I won't be going back to them anytime soon - if ever.
posted this in i717 forum but would also love input from international note owners as well
i currently have the AT&T LTE version of the note
and someone is trying to trade with me for their international version (they have t-mobile) and i'm currently stuck at a crossroads,
i do love the home button on the international and the development they have going on in their forum. However, i feel like development here will start to pick up also (running saurom with holo kernal) i live in San Francisco where LTE is pretty strong for me but the exynos processor does also sound nice. So this is my dilemma, any advice would be appreciated!
Note: yes i did search the forum and have read all the posts regarding at&t vs international but they all go back and forth without solid opinions =/ that is perhaps why i'm stuck right now lol.
I actually have both. There isn't much difference other than processor and LTE so i suggest pick what's important to you and run with it. I've only have the international version for about a day now so i can't comment on battery life as opposed to AT&T's version but then again your in a actual LTE Area where as i am not so that wasn't a factor at all for me. I will probably get rid of my AT&T version soon.

LTE won't be in my area for so long that it just didn't matter and to be honest 6 or 7 mbps down and 1.5 to 2mbps up is sufficient enough for me.

What's more important to you? If you like the different ROMS, development, and possibly getting faster upgrades to the latest OS, then the International Note. If you like better performance, then the International Note. If you like data download speeds on LTE or the ability to use your phone on either AT&T OR T-Mobile, then the AT&T Note.

No need to think. Just get the International. It will have more diverse dev support than the AT&T version will ever get just because of the processor.
Unless you need LTE.

I have an international and I love it BUT I since anyone on this forum uses and abuses their devices, I would seriously consider the AT&T due to the fact you will have no manufacturer service for the international here in the U.S....a 600 brick is far more painful than a 200 brick....

Int note all the way. even stock.. <--better for me anyway. to me it pointless to have LTE with capped data... do you really need that much speed to check facebook and emails lol <----for me no.. plus i use wifi 9 times out of ten at home.. now if we had true unlimited data. then LTE would rock. streaming movies and music etc. but alas capped data you will chew that up in no time..
other points for me. home button.. faster updates vs att.. no lag what so ever compared to the att..( preordered the att note but sold it too laggy and battery life was low ) <---batt life is awesome can go an 8 hour day. normal ,,facebook, emails, text etc, and still have like 80% left.. auto sync is off of course.. as well as gps and bluetooth..
anyway my point the int note works for me over the att lte version.

So I'm coming from sprint so pretty much anything GSM is new to me. I'm sure it's not rocket science buy it is new to me. one of my main concerns is I've been going through different forums and it's a little confusing on whether i need to create a bs imei from an Atrix 4g to get the correct plan or is it going to be a hassle. Also if anyone is from NYC and has this phone what's your APN settings. I know didn't users are getting different results but I trying to make this a easy switch. Thanks

If you are going regular ATT you will have to give them another phone IMEI. I have seen the S3 mentioned but I don't know which would be best. If you are going to ATT through Straight Talk you will not need to do this.

Yes, if you want the best speeds for your nexus you'll have to convince them to change your imei number to an lte device. And then you'll have the highest possible speeds on your device as long as you add the right apn settings. You should be good.

Hello All,
I was wondering of getting the I9500 shipped from outside the US and use it with my AT&T connection that i already have. Just wanted to know what would the pros and cons of this (from mobile network perspective). This question/discussion has nothing to do with which one is better and which one is not.
I can understand i may not be able to use LTE, so i maybe getting HSPA+ speeds
Very bad idea. When you can run same thing (data ) super fast in phone made for it why you want to downgrade??
Everything should be the same service wise except LTE most likely -if LTE doesn't work than you will get hspa+ speeds
And to the other guy...just cause it doesn't have LTE doesn't make it a downgrade...especially if you don't live in am LTE area...in that case the LTE version is pointless might as well get the international...but then again it all comes down to the user, what they want out of there phones, what they don't mind having as well

Well it depends. If you're on a contract with a major carrier then the LTE version is the one to get but if you use prepaid like me ( straight talk, simple mobile....) the I9500 is great, both are.

You won't have any problems! Im using a galaxy note N7000 on at&t without issue on hspa+ i even tricked at&t into thinking its an lte device so i could get 5gb before being throttled. I have the infamous unlimited data plan of course!

Ok. I am in Dallas and i very well have LTE. I am not too much of data user anyways. Most of the time i am under Wi-Fi and for other HSPA+ speeds should be enough for me!

Oh.. I am on AT&T prepaid. Dont wanna get into a contract.
