[TUT] How to name and mark a thread. !!Please make sticky!!

A howto on how to mark threads good.
Because I'm pissed by threads with titles, that say nothing I've done a tutorial on how to name and mark threads right. I use things done in much forums and my own ideas.
Let's start.
First: How to name a thread good.
You have to use a thread that says much, for example “How to change the bootscreen“ and not “bootscreen“ or “question“ or something like that.
Second: How to mark threads.
Let's take the example from before.
The title “How to change the bootscreen“ could be a tutorial, but also a question. Now it is a question.
We use the [ ] tags for that. In them we write QUE for question. In our example this would be “[QUE] How to change the bootscreen”
You can also use more marks at once.
For example: “[ROM][WM6.1][WWE] Charmer Mobile 6.1”
Now a list of useable forms in the [ ]:
TUT = tutorial
ROM = ROM
WM5 = WindowsMobile5 ROM
WM6 = WindowsMobile6 ROM
WM6.1 = WindowsMobile6.1 ROM
QUE = Question
APP = Application
IDE = Idea
REQ = Request
REF = Reference
THE = Theme
MOD = Moderation
DIS = Discontinued
Lang codes:
WWE = World Wide Edition
ENG = English
GER = German
And so on.

I don't think a lot of people will participate in the thread, since we at this forum strongly discourage rating of ROMs, since each of them is a product of buring a lot of midnight oil (and loss of hair ).

But Again/..
Lets look at it positively..
The ROM Makers can get a good amt of feedback.. and can make their ROMs close to perfection faster.. / like they will have feed of so many testers /
Plus we get a separate thread to praise the smallest detail that ROM makers spend so much time on..
Little bit of analytical angle to it..:|
ROM makers can also benifit at single source, I think..
I do not mean any offence to any of the programers in any way.., I respect all of them..
<And so should everybody .. who posts here !>
Budding programers can also see, what geek-techs prefer, whats liked more, and whats creating issues...
Also..
Some people who have some creativity, but are not so pro at programming, can also give some input here, and pool in together..
Constructive development..

black metal rom is quite good but with some bugs..i wud highly recommend wm 6.5 build 21725 by heelgee...

AOSP will include all the vanilla android components like Gingerbread Keyboard, Gingerbread launcher, As well as no samsung clutter or customizations. GUESS WHAT NO ANNOYING SAMSUNG BOOT ANIMATION!!! We are trying to keep it as Vanilla As possible but certain applications and customization's will be there to improve the usability and functionality. But nothing too drastic.
Please don't expect a fully working build straight away. We will have RIL (Network) Working amongst other things. ETA is not available but a beta release will be available As soon as we get things up and running and satisfied with the quality of OUR Work. We have not flashed it to our device(s)
yet but is working great with the emulator.
We will not settle for arguments and petty squabbling over things on this topic. Nor asking for ETA's and begging for fixes. We are very busy with this project and we want our work to be valued. If you are not satisfied with our big effort.
Please use another ROM or Make AOSP yourself. Eh?
Feel free to post any concerns and problems you face with it.
We are considering to make a different version to work with different GSM Bands so all ace users will be able to be use there Ace's whatever there region. Don't expect it for all regions when the European based release is available.

We did use our brains and try to solve the issue ourselves. As this aosp rom is for the Ace community
We are trying to ask for help from others. We also asked in the Chef Central, Android forum. Could you point us to anyone?

hes already banned from xda few days ago by moderator because insulting/attacking other user (i think that particular user who being insulted by him is EmoBoiix3). theres no point in seeking help from such childlish behave guy like that. besides, that aosp rom his been bragged about all this time is just his saying, no proof of it even existed.
btw my advice would be pm-ing other user on other device forum who had already compiled and released their aosp rom here in xda. maybe they can help

I meant to write that to see if he indeed had the rom.. so he's banned. Now, how about contacting trapacska? he's got a build working but without many functionalities but he should be able to give help somehow.

About CM7 and MIUI

Hi, I'm hPa ' '; Before you read this thread, please understand my poor english... T T;
I haven't permission for external link. So i type url shortly.
I'm so surprised because i heard CM7 and MIUI are uploaded on xda.
It's seems that no one can translate korean. So i write some infomations for CM7 and MIUI.
Kernel is based on DSC Team's. Thanks to DSC Team so much!
If DSC Team doesn't want to use their's kernel, i will change kernel... T T;;;
Proprietary files are based on Olleh 407 stock rom.
# Common
CM7 and MIUI doesn't use firstboot partition. so you must do wipe data/factory reset. Factory reset in dell menu will not effect CM7 and MIUI.
Wifi sleep death problem fix patch only applies to Wifi module. So if you want to go before, just replace module from DSC 0.7. (not 0.71, 0.72, etc...)
Framerate is uncapped. (45fps - > 56fps) and It may consume more battery.
I will write thread about it.

CM7 gapps file (mediafire vprpvsarlcic7m6) is for StreakMOD recovery.
Because normal gapps from CyanogenMod wiki is not installed correctly when use StreakMOD recovery.
you can install gapps from CM wiki if you use CWM.

mediafire dbzrp78zrsu4558 <- This is cm7dev file.
streak folder is for streak device setting. (on /device/dell/)

Seems like you were doing good work in Korea, I like CM7 a lot on my streak.
Hope you and the DSC guys can work together to improve the quality of the ROM even further, though I haven't noticed any big issues right now.

Btw: Is the MIUI ROM stable and usable on a dialy basis? Someone wrote it was kind of "experimental/unstable".

I modify framework.jar for ril.
if you want to make ril work properly, baksmali framework.jar and compare your MIUI with my MIUI. (com/android/telephony/)

Thanks a lot HPa. You are a legend- I've been wanting to run MIUI on my streak ever since I got it last year.
My only complaint is the battery. I have to keep wifi on all the time because I use it primarily as a voip phone with Groove IP. I have the governor set to ondemand with it being under-volted. Battery only lasts maybe 15 hours on standby or 12 with a couple hours of use.
Is it true that for the wifi to stay connected the streak can't go into deep sleep? Trying to squeeze more battery life out of the streak- can I reduce the fps back to 45? I keep all the radio's turned off while I'm on wifi but that is the most it will last is about 15 hours on standby.

His roms are reusing the binary 40x drivers like all roms.
If it's an issue in the drivers it wont be fixed here until the drivers are reversed. Most of the battery issues are in those drivers.
hPa, can you post your makefiles for CWM 5.5.0.4? I am interested in looking at them.

Yes the default launcher of miui is FC more and more, so i replace it with a version that is not FC. I simple replace the Launcher i had with this one and i don't have no more FC.

I really liked the hpa version of miui after editing the build.prop and changing it to english it was one of the most stable miui versions I have tried nothing didn't work. I don't know how to replace the dialer to one that is in english when you want to add a contact from the dial pad other than that it was fine.

FM Radio not working in MIUI Rom........

custom roms are not happy with my streak5
1st post and i luv these roms ...Miui 2.3.. is very nice my problem is i get a good launch then after an update or app download i get a crash then can't boot past clouds (boot animations). This appears to also happen with cm7 and longhorn 2.5...

[Q] File "st" downloads by itself .....

Hey,
So I've just noticed my Nexus 4 running CM 10.2 seems to automatically download a file named "st", I think just about everytime I go to yahoo answers, after the file downloads my phone reboots.
I pasted the content of said file below .... can ANYBODY tell me wtf this is or why its downloading it?

I'm on to something.... This file only downloads if I'm on a yahoo answers website on chrome or chrome beta...
Edit: Uninstalling Adaway /ad blocker seems to have stopped it from downloading on yahoo answeres/yahoo ads websites
