Does keyboard docking station come with W500 ? - Acer Iconia A500

or does one have to purchase separately ?
it doesn't clarify in the following link
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Iconia-W500-BZ467-10-1-Inch-Tablet/dp/B004SBI2PW
they are selling it separatly for $236
http://www.amazon.com/Iconia-Keyboard-Dock-for-W500/dp/B0058S8N76

Um not sure if it would never thought of looking since I have a a500. Which had no key board docking station.
Does any Acer phone phone come with one OP

According to their Photos and reviews, it does come with a dock.
Honestly, you really don't need the dock. You can't re-charge the tab from it. Nor are there any other advantages.

[Needed] Dock Update

I would like to know if anyone has a link to the old Dock update. After I restored my TF I can't seem to be able to receive any updates from Asus. I updated to the latest .11 but I can't seem to be able to receive the old Dock Update. Right now my dock version ends in 09. I will gladly appreciate it if someone has it and can post it.
Thank you,

I am almost certain there is a newer one. I had it. And I think it ends with 0221 or something similar.

Hmmm... Couldn't find the dock anywhere. I did see a Eee keyboard mouse or a Eee keyboard and mouse option under peripherals and accessories but clearly those are wireless USB 2.0 devices for Eee PC. I called Asus directly and they told me there is no registration needed for the TF dock. WTF?

A dilemma

Well
ihave the EEE PAD tf101
i want to buy a keyboard
but today my dad offered me to buy the TF201 prime
i really dont know what to do
cause i want a laptop
but the prime is a gaming and video machine
what to do?
Take the "Prime TF201" and buy the new keyboard !!
Take the prime for sure...
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Dude, if your dad offers to buy you the prime, get the prime + keyboard. x_X, it's not just a gaming device, it's the tf101 upgraded..
forgot to mention
its 50\50
lol
here the prime costs around 700 dollars
means i pay 350
and the keyboard costs around 230 (cheap eh? haha)
and here i pay everything
edit:i wont be able to get the prime keyboard for a long time
what i think i would do is to buy the keyboard
and in the summer break ill sell the TF101 and buy the prime
what do you think bout that?
This makes no sense, what's the problem? Unless you wanted your dad to buy you a laptop then everything seems fine to me. Just sell the tf101 get the dock for the prone and call it a day. Wish I had someone buying me stuff...you bet I wouldn't be on here complaining about it... Merry Christmas.

well he doesnt want to buy me the keyboard
he thinks its a waste
also my family kinda lacking money right now
so we cannot afford this right now
230$ is alot of money here
ihave around 300$
ithink ill go for the keyboard
So he'll pay 350 for the prime but not 230 for the dock... Tbh you would get more benefit from the tf1 with dock than a tf2 without... That is if you are looking for something beyond a toy. The dock really makes this tab practical for school and business use. I use it for school and business daily, without the dock it would almost be useless to me.
Tell you're dad it's not a waste, and you are trying to save him money and make your existing tablet more functional. It's the logical choice considering your needs and your financial situation... If he can't see that then you're stuck and may be the least of your problems. Good luck bud, either way it looks like you will get something.

However, if you can sell off your tf101 for a decent price, I would say to get the tf201..
But, you said that this money isn't unnecessary fling, so I think I'd have to ask if you really need the dock at the moment. I like my dock because I can charge my tablet without connecting it to the wall, I have an actual keyboard for typing some sketches of ideas, I have a keyboard to type up random posts on threads in different forums, etc. but I don't need the keyboard for classes (because I'm a physics major, so typing notes wouldn't give me the full range of mathematical equations and ****, so a stylus has more productivity there).
So... ask yourself, do you?
well actually
the TF for me is videos gaming and surfing the web
for the guys that have it
can i surf facebook forums and stuff with the keyboard with no problems?
when you connect to keyboard the battery stays on 100% all the time until the dock battery runs out and then the battery starts to drop
or its just makes it better
it supports 3g dongle?
thanks for answering
It enhances just about everything you would need a physical keyboard to use. It will continually trickle charge the tablet until the dock reaches zero...keeping the tablet at 100%.
If you do even a little typing then the keyboard is clutch. Also if you watch a lot of movies it's great for the added battery life and that it doubles as a stand.
certain 3g dongles do work. I believe you need to root and flash a custom ROM though,I know revolver has a 3g dongle driver pack that you need to install.
Like I have said before, the keyboard is worth the cost (to me at least) personally, the only time my tab isn't docked is when its mounted in my truck... Other than that its usually docked.
I think some games allow you to use the keyboard as an input method as well, like wasd for movement and such, but I haven't looked in to that.
Merry Christmas

Pretty simple, I take a Lot of my classes online because my business requires me to travel frequently. I access all my class forums on the tab, as well as all the chat rooms. I take notes and write papers using polaris office and submit them... again on the tab. I take all my exams on the tablet as well.
My primary form of communication for my business is email, so I do all my email from my tab or my infuse. All my project work orders come in pdf form,I use ezpdf to read and add annotations. I use intuit mobile for writing/reviewing proposals and invoices.
Doing all that with out the keyboard dock would be torture,I wouldn't even bother with the tablet and would still be using my laptop. Its amazing how much more functional the dock makes the tablet.
If you can't find a use for it then either you don't need it or you don't have any imagination or ingenuity.

Then you'll need the keyboard. I have a USB to Ethernet adapter and it works just fine, with root. I don't believe there is a Bluetooth to Ethernet adapter, which leaves you needing the USB ports in the TF101 keyboard (and probably the TF201 keyboard as well, but I haven't tested the drivers I linked to with the Prime/ICS yet).

Yup, if you're looking to do that then you're going to need the USB from the keyboard dock. Original Transformer is my recommendation.
Will it work with the slider or go with the tryed and true transformer
Going with the transformer. Im going to wait for the prime to get more support and also i can get it in store.

HD Dock up for grabs

I have a HD dock that when I sold my Atrix back when, I forgot I had it. Fast forward now, I still have, collecting dust. Basically, I want this to go to a good home that'll use it.
Text me the best joke you've got and first one to make me really laughs gets it(no strings attached, selected pays shipping). I have the remote somewhere, if I can find it, I'll include it too. Just the dock and power cord for now.
Start sending! - PM it.

However, I just bought a Galaxy Nexus and gave my Atrix to my GF. She could get good use of an extra HD dock at my place, when she visits. Would you be interested to ship it to Sweden, all expenseses paid?
justinflorin got it, his nun joke was great.
Sent you a PM. Thanks for the jokes guys!

Yikes! Listen:
I have an HTC Desire, an HTC Desire HD, a Sony Tablet S 32GB, and an ASUS Transformer TF101 32GB (all that Android junk, you know.)
Yeah, I also have a lot of other stuff, including an iPad2 (wife's gadget), and a couple of unlocked iPhones. Not bragging, no. Just mentioning so that you'll get the complete picture here.
This Kindle Fire thing is an incredible deal for $200! (The Amazon refurb promo for $150 last week was just CRAZY.) It's great fun! Root= super easy, and with Paul Obrien's MoDaCo ROM right now: The graphics are seriously sharp and simply excellent, the network access is stupid fast, and I am having a ball with it.
There are a couple of limitations, no bluetooth and no microphone. But for watching downloaded movies and playing games with the kids n stuff, XLNT!
Enough?
If you aren't messing with one of these right now, you just aren't just missing something, you're missing IT.

I'm missing it! What! I to was on the fence, the lack of bluetooth sucked. Also no SD. But my main use(s) on this is for
1) Emulators (N64oid being the biggest)
2) Internet
3) Pandora!
4) An E-Reader
Should I get it? $170 shipped in two days. If yes, all I need is an amazing Leather case/Kickstand thingy.

The lack of an external SD is a bummer but, using wifi tether and wifi file transfer on my phone it is possible to use the SD card on my phone as additional storage. It is also possible to create shared directories on your pc that the fire can use.

That's because it probably is. The 'auto-update' glitch bricked a ton of KFs. (Like this: Unzip the Amazon box, unwrap the cellophane, turn the puppy on, then watch it happily hang on auto-update= el Bricko bumstick.)
Unhappy customers sent them back in droves. Amazon techs simply updated via mini-usb connector, (takes 20 seconds) then shipped them back out as refurbs.
Brand new, and a fantastic deal!
Oh yeah, they also have to dump all of their inventory to get ready for the KF2.

Sort of. HK rumours last week, legal dept. staff Inter-consult w/ Foxconn & Cather, (the blank & MB manufacturers) say: 9.7", active bezel (gorilla & long range wifi?), quad-core sized HS, slim over-sized custom battery, with SD slot and side mount volume control holes. (In HK, parts-is-parts, if you catch my drift.) Taiwan has had the finished item running for quite a while, doing Amazonia software polish atm. Probably trying to keep it from getting rooted the very first day of release.
Anyway, "...goes gold in about 6-8 weeks." means that I am certainly not holding my breath waiting for it. No more update glitches this time I'm sure.
Oh, the previously mentioned $139 deal went history about 8 days ago, and I do wish I had gotten a couple more of them. The kids pass this thing around in the car like a box of Smarties. Industrial strength, even the 3 yr old gets her mitts on it.
Big fun.

This is going to be a great Tablet. $170 refurbished, with a warranty. Great deal, and I'm buying a $17 starter kit.
Book Cover case, 3 Pens. Two anti glare screen protectors. Some headphones, and 3.5MM to 3.5MM cable.
