Help! the keyboard issue!

My exec was back from repair....
and some of the keyboard doesn't corresponding to what they printed...
like:
printed actuall action
caontacts startup
ok no function
message phone
video call ok
startup ie
I read some other thread that we can re-map the left or right button on the today screen....
it seems that i can re-map the rest of the keyboard as well, logically.....
does any body have a clue?

Edit order of letters that appear in XT9

Hi all, this is a problem that I don't know how to solve.
When I press the ""a/s" button in a 20 keys keyboard having Xt9 active, the first character that appears is "s". This does not make sense for Spanish as "a" should be the first one. Now, everytime that I want to writte an "a", I have to change from "s" to "a" and this is a mess...
Pls, pls, pls... anyone that knows how to change these prioroties?

Try this, Paul at modaco made a great little fix for this. It works on UK devices, so may work on yours.

I780 keyboard mapping problem

Hi all,
I have upgraded my mobile to PDXHL2 and everything works fine (my i780 has Eng and arabic Keyboard).
My problem in the keyboard!!!
I have the mail symbol on the keyboard if I press it; it will show as GPS shortcut (in other country)...anyway next to this botton is "." and "!" botton
if I press it when writing it will open the mail box/sms and I can't find the dot "." botton!!!
in the left of the "0" botton I have "AB" which it should be used to switch between the langauge (It needs for my case Arabic installation)
Sorry for my long message but just want to change the keyboard back like before

in addition....If I install Arabic the keyboard (external) wont work proberly

keyboard bugs

Hi everyone!
I've just got my new maple, and already blocked pin. I have the following trouble - the second row on keyboard physically is "tab a s d f ... k l del", but virtually - when I press tab button writes "a", pressing a button I got "s" etc. on this row works only delete button. also - mesenger, sms and dot - are mixed up. I think trouble is in languages, I have english version. how I can fix this bug?

Take a look at this post in the Excalibur forum. The file will be diffrent for the SNAP but it should be there.

I can`t save file with changes, and also, I can`t replace files, resco, total, standard explorer - shows error - "file is read only".

[Q] Virtuous ROM Swap Input Method

Hi,
I originally uses the stock rom (localized for hong kong).
The difference between this variant and the European version is that the "sym" button is also the key for swapping between chinese and english input method when using hardware keyboard.
When I flash to Virtuous 0.9, the sym button is used as ".com" function so I'm not able to change the input method.
I've also tried the european swapping method of "alt+spacebar" but failed.
Can anyone suggest a mod for that? Thanks and sorry for my poor English!
I can provide a dump for the hong kong rom if it helps.

go into setting refered for keyboards and select touch input..find the submenu for hardware keyboard and select the 2 languages you want (in your case english and chinese)..close everything and go to any space that you can type, to test (e.g sms) then start typing..probably the default language to type would be english...now hit the magnifying lense button which is near the bottom right corner of the hardware keyboard (looks like a search button)..try typing , and you will see that the language has changed
now i dunno if this is a bug or snything else, but if you REtry to switch the same way back to english it seems to stuck..you can just tap anywhere in the text and then try to type and everything is great...really,not an important issue..Sorry if i am not being very detailed right now but i am currently on cm , not virtuous, so i just told you what i remember from heart..
Give me feedback if this worked for you or not and i can go for a quick nandroid to see it out myself..

In the hardware keyboard settings, I could only find "Default language" and "Prediction".
The "default language" has three options, "English", "倉頡" and "拼音" respectively, where the last two are Chinese input methods.
It just pop out a search menu when i pressed the magnifying button.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Okay..some things i might forgot..make sure android keyboard is un-ticked and you are using the htc ime..also did you try typing into an area that you are supposed to type text in, or like in browser url are, sms contact name input field , email address input area?if you use the lense button in one of these it is mapped to do other things, like check ur contact list, or your email address favourites..
try a notepad..or a reply in this forum for example..or an sms typing area.

Sorry but there's no option for "android keyboard" in sense-based roms.
I've tried the magnifying glass in sms typing area. It just pops out the "search message" screen.
While the address bar comes out when I tried to press the button when replying forum messages.

Hey,
There could be an other way. You could try to get your language change button back.
In /system/usr/keylayout you'll find the layouts of the keyboard. If you have a copy/backup of your original keyboard layout, you could just use that one instead.
I havent tried it myself, but there is a change to TAB. But I don't know which value it should be in your case.
