My cousin is wanting to put rom on his DX. But he needs his corporate email and doesn't want to flash a rom and then find out its not working. Currently I'm running CM7 on my X2 and I don't see it anywhere in my system apps. If I pull the corporate email app from his phone before we flash a rom then reinstall it, will it still work for him, or its it tied in with the blur to much and it wont work. If it will work is the corporate email the only apk that we will need? And if we need something else for it to function properly what would it be?
If the moderator could remove this thread that would be great. I found the answer to my question was quite simple and I didn't look hard enought.

I just started to learn to customize my t-mobile wing this week and am still a newbie at all of this. The only thing I know best about my wing is how to work the camera, phone, text message with aim 2.0, and go on the internet with wifi. I downloaded this alarm clock program thing a few days again. It was the enAlarmPPC one. I didn't like it because the trial only allows you to use it for no more than 3 minutes, I'm dead broke so my only choice was to uninstall it. I remember the program by using the remove/add programs tab in the system tab. I thought that was all I had to do, it wasn't until a few days later when I connect my wing to my computer and a weird message came up saying something about (Cannot execute\program\files\enAlarmPPC\enAlarmPPC.exe), but instead of saying program it's storage file. Is there a way to stop this from happening without the use of programs that requires me to pay? I'm really dead broke and I don't think my sister will lend me any money for now.
A second problem, well, I don't know if this is really a problem but it had just been bugging me. I have my phone contact list containing only phone numbers before but after I signed in to MSN Messenger, suddenly a whole list of emails showed up in my contact lists with the phone numbers. Is this normal? Is there a way to get rid of the emails address? I have a lot of numbers in my contact lists so it killed me with a whole list of over 20 email addresses showed up. I don't want to delete them from my messenger but just want to know of a way to separate the contacts.
Thank you sooo much for taking your time to read this. Hoping and wishing that someone will help me. THANKS and PLEASE.
EDIT//
Just to clarify a few things. I did try to google and yahoo for help, I searched for three days thinking that there will be a site out there that could help me. But there wasn't and the ones that give somewhat of an explanation requires me to pay for the program. I'm super cheap, yes I am aware of that. So please please help me out.
Try this link to delete the alarm software

This is a new version of WLM that was released that allows you to choose whether or not you want to combine your Msngr conatcts with you outlook/sim contacts. Be cafeful because you cannot delete the Msngr Contacts from your phone without deleting them from you IM List, I think the only solution would be to to a hard reset then re-install WLM using the version I just linked to.
Hope that helps
Does anyone know of a free app that will do exchange corporate directory lookup? If these phones ever hope to gain ground in the corporate world they really need to have this functionality out of the box and built into the exchange app on the phone (i.e. being able to do a "check name" against the GAL). I've searched the marketplace but can't find one for 1.5. There is an app for the DROID that does this but it is either specifically written for the motorola phone, or only supports android 2.0 (doesn't show up as a search result unless it is done using the DROID). This is my biggest beef with this phone and i'm thinking of sending it back and just waiting for them to be released with 2.0 already loaded.
I know there are some paid programs out there that claim to offer this functionality but of course i'd prefer to explore the free route first. Thanks!
There is a beta program from Seven (also known as Good Messaging) that does what you are asking for at no cost (aside from testing new features).
http://www.seven.com
I've been using it off and on for a couple of years now. It perpetually has bugs (it's their beta build), but it works.
It supports direct connect from your phone via Exchange OWA, or you can install a connector on your PC at work which integrates with outlook to sync over the air with your phone (useful if your company only exposes exchange internally or via vpn).
How can I use this app from Seven? The link to Sprint links to other phones and not any of the newer smartphones...
*update*
Nevermind, I got it. Have to sign up for their forums and beta program. Installing now. Looks very professional. Let's hope it works well.
Finally I can answer a question for someone else. The Sprint Hero has a GAL built it. Unfortunately you have to be in an email to run it, but you can do a GAL from there. Let me know if you need help. No need to get an app, its already there.
When in an email, in the to box, type the name and a drop down will be there and select Company Directory
What about on the HTC Eris from Verizon? It does not have this drop down for corporate directory option.... Maybe I'll try that seven program.

I feel like a moron here, but I am not seeing this, I can start to type a name and I only get my list of contacts in the phone. This is not a GAL list. Would be OOBER cool if I can get this working, and figure out how to delete and email ONLY off the phone not the server too.
Hello All,
I have a problem I am hoping has a solution. I can't find it though, so I will ask and see what comes out of it.
I would like to do either one of 2 things if it is possible...
1) Change back to the Pocket Outlook client for BOTH SMS and MMS. I found a cab that will allow Outlook to be the SMS client, but then MMS does not work. Not a real acceptable solution for me. Is there a way to get them both back?
2) There are 2 fairly important features missing from the current stock client. First and foremost is a switch to get sent messages from saving. I don't want sent messages at all. I already know what I sent, I don't need it saved for me even if I am not smart enough to know what I sent... If there is a way to stop this forced waste of space, please let me know. Another issue with the current client is that I cannot add folders to the list. Is there a way to add to the list of folders in the stock client? I would like more than in/out/sent/drafts/deleted. Is there a way to do this?
Either of these is a good solution. I kind of like the look/feel of the new client, but the missing functionality, or the lack of ability to turn off functionality, is a complete wash for me.
I am unwilling to flash a new rom to the device. I have done it and was happy, but I just prefer not to. Is there any other suggestions/fixes/tweaks that will help out with the above?
Thanks!
Using the email client, is there any way to move email from the inbox to another folder?
I was thinking the same thing... I may have to install K9..
Double post
Hmm.. never noticed that. I only use mail for my work exchange account and I prefer to sort/move messages on a full computer when at work anyway. Even so, I can see where others might find it useful but I too couldn't find a way to do it.
I know this is an older post, but I thought I would post here instead of starting a new thread.
I just flashed Onyx from Team Whiskey earlier today and to my surprise, the regular email client supports Move To Folder. I love it. Have been searching for this feature ever since I made the move to Android. It was the one reason I started learning how to root and flash to begin with.
Just wanted to give Team Whiskey from props.
Since any of the custom 2.2 ROMs came out the email client wont connect to Yahoo any more For the first time it downloads emails, next time it says password incorrect. It happened to me after Obsidian V2 as well as V3. So now usng Maildroid. It supports move to other folders.
The last two 2.2 ROM's I used had issues, but all could move an email between folders in my Exchange account. However after upgrading to CyanogenMod 7.1 this is gone. Anyone have a 2.3 ROM that has this functionality? I don't want to download touchtown just for this basic functionality.
My MT4G should be here any day now. I have read where there are problems syncing with exchange 2010 and MT4G. I am getting this phone for work mostly and need it to sync with exchange 2010.
Can someone tell me what specifically is the problem? I have heard it is HTC's implementation of their email client. So, if I root this phone and put on one the "popular" ROMs here, will this be fixed?
Or will I need to root, remove the HTC mail client, find/install the android/google email client?
Anyone else done this before?
I was sending emails from my phone for a week before I figured out nobody was getting them. Seriously pissed me off. I found this thread on TMO forums that has some good info...
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/myTouch-4G/Exchange-2010-issues-can-t-send-email/m-p/567523
I hope HTC gets their sh*t together with this one. I upgraded from a G1 on which I always had a "nonsense" android rom of some flavor loaded up, but I'm kinda liking a lot of the stock sense features on the MT4G. Not quite ready to mess with it yet. For now I'm using touchdown off the market, but I don't like it enough to shell out $20 for a feature that SHOULD work out of the box....
Thanks for the link. I may have read that one a while back. I have an EVO for my personal phone. I don't mind the sense interface.
I am just wondering if the MT4G(sense) ROMs that are currently being built, if they are using this HTC client or the android one? Maybe I will just have to wait 'til I get mine to root and find out myself. I just thought I would have some questions answered before the phone arrived.
Or if anyone knows how to successfully remove the HTC client and install the android client....?
