What is the newest stock firmwares for each device?
Im pretty sure for the MB810 it is .621 and that will have kernel 2.3.4 with BLUR?
Is this correct?
What is the latest/newest for the MB809?
thanks
MB810 is 4.5.621, it does have blur, and is built on Android 2.3.4.
Just to correct you for fun, 2.3.4 isn't the kernel version, it's the Android version. The kernel is some variant of the 2.6 Linux kernel. =D
As for the MB809, I haven't a clue.

so no one knows the best (newest stock firmware) without blur that can work on the mb810?
mb809 firmware does work on the mb810 (at least it did when i used the alltel rom)
just wanting to know the newest firmware for the mb809 i guess.
There are plenty of blurless custom roms for the MB810.

yea i know, that is why i asked for stock roms
the alltel rom used to be the best stock rom for the droid-x / milestone-x when we only had froyo.
then verizon updated to Gingerbread and alltel never made another non-bloat and non-blur rom that i know about.
other people have mentioned that the milestone-x (cellular south and now cspire) have been getting updates
i would like to know if one of those updated firmwares are non-bloat and non-blur like the alltel roms were but as i stated before i want a GB rom not a Froyo

Have a question. I'm running a rooted Droid X on Verizon wireless running Android 2.2.1. I'm currently running Liberty 2.0.1 right now on the device. Is there a way to put a gingerbread ROM on my phone so I can be running gingerbread? Right now verizon doesn't have an update to push my phone to a 2.3, but is there a way I can manually do this? I only ask cause I also have a HTC Desire running cyanogenmod7 and it made my phone go from 2.2 to 2.3 and I'm curious if there is a way for me to do this with the droidx on verizon and if so where can I download it from?
http://droidmodderx.wordpress.com/liberty-for-gingerbread-2-3-3-review/
Liberty for gb will take u from froyo to gb, but u will have to purchase donated toolbox from the market, well worth it if u ask me

Do you want liberty gingerbread or just stock gingerbread. Google gingerbread and you should find the last update. I do know it went public and you just flash it like a rom. I read about thus today on an android website just not sure wich one. Might of been android central.

You can find the gingerbread files on google, or check the site in my sig for the files. It's a 3 part file, is pre-rooted, flashable in clockwork mod recovery. There's also an update (.591) to the 3 part file listed on there, but must be flashed after.
Wondering if there is gonna be a gingerbread version of brootstrapper X out there? Also is there anyone out there that has rooted the offical gingerbread out there?
I believe that D2 is GB...it also works on Froyo.
The official gingerbread is rooted and available through the TBH app
I just had a shift 2.3.3 and spent a day or so bringing it back to 2.2 with root and the clockwork boot manager.
But how do i get a 2.3.3 or newer ota or as close to factory rom as possible to work with root?
I saw a rom called synergy which looks similar.
Sparksco has a rooted ota ROM in ROM manager 2.3.4
mik 2.1 executive edition

If your going for the stock look NewSENSE is where its at, and thats the actual rom im running on my speedy now

If you want the newest OTA 2.3.4 just rooted. Then Sparksco has the newest Rom in Rom Manager, as turkbot stated. Although if you go that route you will not have WiFi / USB Tether. You will just be on the Newest OTA 2.3.4 and Rooted. If you want a Rom that's based off the newest OTA but very close to Stock. Then newSense is what you want. Very close to Stock with extras, and very reliable. MikShifted G , not Stock. Many extras, and very reliable.

Hey guys. I'm currently using a Motorola milestone x (debranded droid x) on a small CDMA network called Appalachian wireless. Its been a decent phone, but its a little outdated and as a result it's been having some performance anxiety as of late- namely a lack of available ram. I would love to be able to root the phone and help alleviate some of these issues, as well as adding an upgraded custom rom. Here are my phone specs:
SYSTEM VERSION: 4.5.604.MB809.ACG.en.US
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.5
KERNEL VERSION: 2.6.32.9-geadffa3
[email protected]#1
BUILD NUMBER: 4.5.1_57_MX2-34
ERI VERSION: 5
PRL VERSION: 10032
I'm Relatively new into the smartphone scene, and this is my first dive into the world of rooting, so please take nothing for granted. A step by step tutorial is what I need, and I haven't found one of those for the milestone x, so I figured I'd sign up and all for help. Tracks in advance for any help you can provide me.
I can't give you a step-by-step, but since you are already on system version .604, all you have to do it use the Zergrush v4 method (which can be found via a Google search).

Cool.. Is this zergrush a superoneclick root? And it won't disrupt my 3G coverage or anything? I read online where some users on the small regional carriers lost they're data coverage after rooting... Also, I read somewhere about how people who were rooting bricked their phone because of tripping some efuse that motorola had added through the 2.3.5 OTA update. This won't be an issue either?
So I was researching that zergrush method, and it talking about using an nTelos sbf file. Woul d I have to flash this sbf to root, and of so would it negatively affect my phone?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. Like I said, I'm totally new at this.

You wont have to flash any SBF files. Users not on .604 must flash the SBF file; however, since you are already on .604 you do not.
So just root with zergrush =D

Awesome!! Thanks a lot!!
Any suggestions on a custom rom?
I was stuck on 621 and sbf'd to 604 and I find that the best compatible rom is vortex rc1 because of its battery life and fastness also if your going to get any ROM for 604 you should get it from rootzwiki there's a thread that has multiple 604 compatible roms because not all ROM's are compatible

Thanks! I actually found it last night after doing a little more digging. Lol... At this point I'm just trying to find a way past this stupid pop up ad blocking the download screen on mediafire. First ad I've ever seen that you can't x out... Oh well. Thanks again. As for installing this rom, can I just do it from bootstrap/cwm recovery?
And is vortex a 2nd-init rom that I would have to sbf to get back from? Because I currently have no sbf available from my carrier.
Yea just bootstrap install zip from SD and then factory reset/clear cache

Is this the MB809 Milestone X?
Hi all,
First of all, I am an Evo LTE owner so forgive my lack of knowledge regarding SBFs / anything Motorola. I am looking to flash CM onto a DX at a friend's request. The phone in question is running the latest OTA and is fully stock.
I saw the thread over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823112&page=2 with a new direct root method - is it possible to flash CM7 or any other custom ROM given this? I have seen a lot of comments that you can't downgrade to an older SBF and that CM4DX-GB seems to want a .605 SBF or something like that, I believe this phone is .621.
Is it possible to root the .621 with the "direct" method above, flash CWM and then flash CM or something?
Any help would be appreciated!
If you're on .621 you can absolutely flash Cm7. You need only root via the direct root method you linked, install recovery via Droid 2 Bootstrapper, and flash the ROM plus Google apps

Thanks so much. Do I need to flash CM4DX-GB or whatever that custom build is, or are the latest CM7 officials on the GB kernel? (From reading threads looks like they were Froyo for a while.)
Edit: Am I using this (D2B) or this (DXB)? What is the difference?
Don't flash the official builds. Flash the custom builds from Root wiki.
I recommend using D2B since DXB doesn't work unless USB Debugging is enabled. You can use either.

This should work over. 621?
