Hi
Space is not enough to flash any ROMs;
Bootloader is locked, you could not edit that sector.
So is there a special ROM that is very small and allows to edit the bootloader?
Here is the MINI ROM: (thread is from anzhi, only copy the download url.)
115,com/file/clyzgmw1
(replace " , " by ". ")
Click the "电信下载“ right besides the red link"VIP ...."
Flash it than edit the bootloader~
NOTICE: I format the whole sector ,and the file including IMEI was missing
'Cause I don't know how to edit recovery or other system files like .mbn,
so just delete the abnormal big file and you would be able to flash any ROM s

Ok here's what I did
Download mediafire.com/?1hbk6n46hgamyt6
Unzip it, and find UPDATE.APP
Put UPDATE.APP in a dload folder and upload to empty sdcard.
Put sdcard in phone, and hold vol+/- and power and flash it.
After phone has restarted pull battery.
Download http://www.mediafire.com/?6hrfz36b8e2vw87
Unzip and copy the dload folder to empty sdcard.
Hold vol+/- and power and flash it.
After it fails near the end or if it restarts then pull battery.
Download a rooted boot.img and a clockworkmod recovery.img (got both mine from links at modaco)
Attach phone to PC in pink screen mode and delete the boot.img and recover.img files.
Upload the downloaded root.img and recovery.img to image folder in phone.
Download any custom rom from XDA, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1475687 and upload it to sdcard
Pull battery.
Hold vol+ and power and go into clockworkmod, wipe everything and flash the custom rom!!
Good luck!

Actually what you have to do is like this step:
1. Download the full CORRECT STOCK ROM. You have to be sure that it is the CORRECT STOCK ROM (not only the STOCK ROM)
2. You have to extract the .exe file using 7zip, WInzip or WInrar (no need to change to Zip first. You can directly extract it)
3. Find the among the extracted files, the file name: RUU_signed.nbh. And rename it to: leoimb.nbh (remember .nbh is an extension for image file)
4. Format your micro sd card with Fat32. (dont forget to back up all the data therein). Copy the leoimg.nbh to the root of your sd card using card reader.
Some the condition of your sd card affect the process, such as bad block, damage, etc. Also, consider to use lower capacity, 4-8 GB is recommended (although I never have problem flashing via sandisk micro Sd card with 16GB capacity)
5. Go into bootloader screen and wait until the four colors screen change to all white color and there will appear the instruction. Just follow the onscreen instruction.
Done..

1. Turn the phone off.
2. Hold Volume Down button.
3. While holding Volume Down, turn on the phone with the End/Power button as usual.
4. You should see a tri-color screen. Now you may let go of the volume down button.
Connect to your PC and the bottom should say "USB" instead of "Serial". Then you can flash whatever you'd like (if you have HSPL installed).

Download the latest Acer stock ROM to your PC (many stock roms found on this page). Transfer it to your external SD card and make sure to rename it "update.zip". Boot holding down volume and power until you see lines of text, then let it do it's thing
thanks for the info! I found a ROM on this thread.. not sure if its the latest 3.1 build.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154492
so I downloaded it to my PC.. comes as a ZIP file.. "update_3.1".. do I unzip folder & renamed it "update.zip"? or do I leave it zipped, rename it and transfer to SD card & boot up? again thanks for the help
Leave it named update.zip do not unzip
downloaded the update_3.1 file from that thread.
renamed folder "update.zip", left compressed.
transferred to external SD card on phone.
placed SD card into tablet, booted up by holding the power & volume button.
take you into SD update cmd: recovery..
its looking for the folder..
then comes on the android logo with an exclamation point!
no good..
might it be the ROM? any suggestions..

If you downloaded it from the first link, the file needs to be decrypted first. I believe the second link on that page from megaupload is already decrypted. But that would be where the problem is.
And yes that is the latest build from Acer for the US!
I'm not sure what you mean.. consider me a noob at this.. never installed a ROM before.. encrypted or decrypted.. what would be what I need? couldn't find that second link you mentioned..

Right on! You know you can use clockwork mod to backup your system so it doesn't happen again.
You should use one of these versions, since your in the US.
4.010.07_COM_GEN2
4.010.08_COM_GEN2
4.010.11_COM_GEN2
4.010.13_COM_GEN2 (latest, not sure if it's posted anywhere yet)
The .40 version is not a US build.
interesting.. not sure what the difference is but can someone please post up 4.010.13_COM_GEN 2 & a how-to-install!

4.010.13 isn't a full rom like the one posted, merely an update.it can be obtained by simply checking for an update in "about device" in settings

[Q] |HELP| I have a Blue Screen ! :(

hi, I installed a custom rom.and format sd cart by menu... only a blue screen does not turn on the phone. CWM dosnt work.
Can you still boot in Bootloader (pink screen) by holding VOL+,VOL- and Power?
Blue replaces pink when phone can't access to cust. Download official rom, and hope it will fix it.
USE THIS AS LAST CHANGE, IT DESTROYS YOUR IMEI
Another (imei destructive) way is to plug phone to pc, format the partition, create image folder and put recovery and there. Then reinstall rom or stock.

In case you lost all the data in Bootloader (pink screen), format the partition with FAT32, create a folder called "image" and copy the following files on there.
EMMCBOOT - http://www.mediafire.com/?lb6ifvgk72iru4a
AMSS.MBN - http://www.mediafire.com/?d6r45q6p5gew59v
Recovery.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?57njygc8oianjac
Boot.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?6d5i0714a7o9z97
Once you've copied the files, just disconnect the cable, take the battery out and then put it back in.
Next step is to boot into Recovery, by pressing VOl+ and Power.
let me know how that goes.
Thank a lot, but now İMEI 00000000 ? where is my orgin İMEİ :S
That's a complicated problem and i don't think there is a solution for 0 IMEI.
Try flashing one of the STOCK roms, see how that goes.
I've tried everything, but not

I am stuck a blue screen -.-

Guys I am desparate, I mean I tryed all steps for everything I did STEP by STEP! After reading them many times, and also reading the comments and anyways after a research!
I tryed to do it slowly and carefully!
And now my phone is bricked as hell with a blue screen at startup, not allowing me to do ANYTHING
please help asap!
Everything happened after I managed to root my phone, with 2.3.5 official ROM!
sounds like you have corrupted/wiped some of the internal partitions. Have you made linux backup? It would save you at the moment.

You could ask for someones linux backup and try to restore it in your phone. Also have you formatted something from mounts/storage?
I have done the steps you describe many times without any problems, so you have done too little or too much. Maby you flashed corrupted recovery in .cust_backup?
Sent from my U8800 using xda premium
Yes its propably about the recovery, that was actually what I did before the blue screen!
I aint have linux back up :/
How can I find? And if I do find, how do i use it?
i have the same problem, when i trying to istall ICS aurora. Help me
Not everything is lost.
I also did a stupid thing and deleted the partitions via CWM. Afterwards I saw the blue screen of death..
The phone came alive using this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369296
I knew that the pink screen was not there but when I tried the above process without the battery my phone begun the upgrade and everything came back to normal
If it wont start the upgrade try to do the following.
Take out the sd card and put the battery back inside.
Then connect the phone with a usb and wait to see the battery charging icon.
Afterwards disconnect the usb, take out the battery, put the sd card back in, connect the usb and try again to flash the dload folder using the two volume + power buttons.
That's how i did it
Thankyou, that worked like a charm for me
Pink screen and dload
I have a problem.
I have placed new folder "dload" on the root directory (the one with pink screen ), but I forgot to place anything inside that folder. So now when I reboot the phone it tries to update firmware but it can't because there isn't anything inside the "dload" folder. It says Update failed. Now I just need to access to this folder again to put something in but I can't. I need this pink screen back. Please help.

Assuming you have the U8800 regular model(not pro or plus)
Check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728065
There is a link there to an update16.zip(or some similar name) file, which maybe helps you.
Make a dload folder on root of your sdcard and then extract all files and folders of the archive in there. Then with battery off and device connected with usb cable, power it on with the same key combination which you use to get the pink screen. Hopefully the update will start and clean things. Then you can flash the official rom(delete all contents of the dload folder and put there the UPDATE.APP).
