What exactly do you mean? I've noticed today that searching doesn't seem to be working, maybe there's some upgrading going on.
This might explain things:

Thanks, i´m testing right now on my HTC Touch.
Well this prolly won't work if you are syncing over the air with Microsoft Exchange Server. You want to have the item available upon arriving, so changing the schedule to manually that you have to sync it yourself.
Just a thought.

That's the rub, uh huh. Myself and mine all have Exchange Servers. (But the title of the OP DID look promising, ehehehe!)
I've never heard of this issue. Hmm, is that because I never find out? No, I do get plenty of missed calls and voicemail...and the other two issues I don't think I get either.

yes, guys it probably won't work if you are using sync with exchange. I intented to put it there but forgot as I and my friends dont use exchange. Have updated the post..
i'm testing it out and will let you guys know what i find on my touch dual.
shantz, on your "fake" server configuration, did you check anything in the data that you want to sync section (ie, contacts, calendar)? i did that initially so then when i tried to sync to my desktop, i got the "attention required" error b/c it couldn't connect to this fake server. so i unchecked everything. will it still work if i keep everything unchecked for the fake connection?

please give a clear explanatiion of the procedure..what to be unchecked?what to be given as server address..domain name..?my phone is often trying to connect to gprs..and also showing active sync often in the opened programs...or else tell me which rom to be flashed... iam usin bluerom v3.0 by swiftblade now on my htc touch..please help me iam dying using this phone...
i tried this on my hima..but when i do this i cant sync normally with Vista and i wasent able to use Yahoo2go and got Sync errors..pleaes help
@abhimanyu: You can enter anything in those fields. e.g. fill in "fake" in all of them
@ather90: you can delete the config u made for the server after changing the schedule. delete the config and then try.

launch ActiveSync on your device (without being connected to your desktop)
select Menu / Options
hilight the "fake" relationship and click Delete

I seem to be having a problem. And after searching the forum I am beginning to think I am the only one. I have a T9193 with the sea wwe 1.66 rom.
If I turn my phone off or pull the battery my email accounts disappear. Also my wep code for wifi also disappears. The email accounts are there for the most part except the pop and smtp addresses are gone. But when I go to inbox all I get is the "setup email". From the email tab I can hit menu then account settings and both my email accounts appear. I just have to put back the lost info.
Strange thing is, it doesn't do it everytime.
Why is this happening? Anyone?

I've searched around for this but I can't seem to find anything. I recently switched from my trusty Touch HD (winmo6.1) to the Desire HD. I have a MS Exchange (2007) account and was hoping having Android might solve the issue of read receipts being automatically sent out. Whenever I read an email sent to my Exchange account where they have asked for a read receipt, the phone automatically sends the receipt. On Outlook or Thunderbird it always asks you (well it does if you set it that way). I really don't want receipts being sent out without my permission as it's a bit of an invasion of privacy. What happens if I wake in the middle of the night and happen to read some email- I don't particularly want my clients knowing I am reading emails in the middle of the night! There was no way of resolving this on WinMo but is it possible with the HTC Desire HD?
The 2nd question is still email related. I have multiple email accounts which all get sent to my Exchange account. This is fine, but if I want to reply from one of those email accounts then this is more difficult. The only way I could think of was to set up the other accounts as imap/pop3 accounts so that I can at least reply from them. The only thing is I don't want it to download all those messages again. there doesn't seem to be an option to not automatically download emails to an account (so you can just use it for sending email). Am I missing something?
Finally, it's great that HTC have given an option to automatically bcc yourself, but it's not anything more than that. I assume it emails the email address for that account, but I want to send to a specific email address which I have set up. Is this possible?

Yes, I am 100%. I was aware of the Exchange 2010 thread, but it's not relevent to my question. I use Exchange 2007, but my question referrs to being able to send to a specific email address on bcc, being able to set other accounts not to download email (so I can use them only for sending), and about read receipts.
Perhaps I should have posted this in the questions and answers thread at the top, but I thought it would be ok to post a new thread.
I'm still new to this forum, and to be honest I'm always a bit wary of posting something in case I get a "use the search facility" type answer. I do understand it's important not to clutter up things in the forum, but we don't want to scare off the newbies do we?!
If this should be in the questions and answers thread then please close and I'll repost there.

I havent been able to login for 2 days. i hope it is just down over christmas. So many websites have gone down permenantly lately, with claims they are just down for maintanance.
It'll be back up one way or another just have to give it time, as far as anyone can tell on IRC when we were discussing this it seems all the files that were available via nookdevs.com are gone. This means that for some reason or another that the server the domain is pointing at is empty save the blank index.html that's being served up. I'm sure it'll be fixed ASAP.
wish it was up...hope for the best!
