Hi, I have a red lense Defy and have just flashed latest Quarx nightly per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100 but everytime I reboot the phone it takes about 90s to start, and all my settings (wifi, baseband, email etc) have been forgotten - the phone start as if it's a brand new install. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? I have tried reinstalling a few times with no luck. otherwise the rom works perfectly.

I'm having the same problem. Anybody has any clue to fix this?
You may have to flash your stock SBF using RSDLite as upgrading to Cyanogenmod ROMS only writes the system partition. Maybe the other partitions have got corrupted.
I'm not sure though.

Tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything similar.
I rooted my ideos x5 with super one click, installed clockwork mod (perfect recovery by genekolar) and then installed genekolar's newest cyanogenmod [unofficial]. Tried installing 2 times with different downloads, wiping everything both times but I get no service or battery status. I checked my sim card, battery, booted the phone multiple times and checked my APN settings, the phone just doesn't find anything.
I would like to have gingerbread on my phone without installing the official one.
I also tried the MIUI rom but it stuck to the booting screen blasting that welcome jingle full volume every 3 seconds.
Any solutions?
Thanks!
This has been written for 1000000 times. You must update to official 2.3.5 if you want to use .35 kernel ROMs. If locked bootloader is what scares you then you dont need to worry because blefish already found a way to unlock it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490). If you still dont want to update to offcial 2.3.5 then you can use .32 kernel ROMs
Oh, my search-fu wasn't good enough this time. Being noob 'n all. Thank you for informing me! I'll change this to solved and leave it here if anyone else is having the same problem
Thank you!!
It's currently 7am on monday morning, and I have college. I haven't slept at all because my [red lens] defy has been giving me problems.
I've been trying to re-flash CM7 to get a clean install of it, with no frills/apps that I've installed over time.
I've done a factory reset through CWM, and re-flashed CM7.1 from here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=umts_jordan
I've tried finding GApps for this, but to no avail. None of them install properly (CWM says they have, but actually hasn't - It's nowhere on my app drawer/home/manage apps).
I've tried adding an account to sync but when it asks what google products I want to install (such as YouTube, Maps, StreetView), it crashes mentioning "process com.teamdouche.pacman"
That's problem 1
Problem 2 is my Home and Search button no longer work! I've tried everything I could google for, but nothing has helped.
[Edit: they do vibrate, but nothing happens]
Any help on these matters would be much appreciated, as this is really annoying :/ Thanks.
Also I've just realised the apps in Manage Applications are all my old apps, even though I've actually formatted my SD card in CWM since, each has a SD card icon, and is taking up 0.00B space, but I'm just wondering how they even show there..
Did you try flashing the CM7 kernel ?
Or did you mount /system ?
Herpderp Defy.
Here's my About Phone info:
Android Version - 2.3.7
Baseband Version - EPU93_U_00.59.01
Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9-gb08c3c8 [email protected] #1
Mod version - CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1-Defy-KANG (CM7 White Rabbit)

Do you have a link to the CM7 Kernel? :S
System is mounted
I've managed to get Market installed, but it only opens once, and when I try to download something it Force Closes, and then after that it force closes when I open it.
Flash stock rom for noow ....

dude, restore stock room, and try flashing an official cm7, what i think is that the room that you flashed is corrupted or something like that
1º: Reflash a stock room
2º: Get a official stable CM7 room ( http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=umts_jordan )
3º: Don't forget to wipe all data, cache and dalvik cache.
4º: See if that works and thank me for this
EDIT:
Here is a link to Gapps, just in case (http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip )
good luck with your defy
The touchscreen of my Defy doesn't work very well for about a month now.
It often happens that it does type something by itself even if i don't touch it. Go Launcher does crash often as well.
So today i decided to wipe the Defy and try CM9. My actual ROM was CM7 1.5.
What i did was starting in recovery mode, doing factory reset, clearing cache and then flashing Froyo 2.2.2. I already tried to flash 3 different SBF's.
The flashing works pretty well but when the Defy has bootet to homescreen it takes about 2 minutes and it does reboot. This happens with all the 3 different SBF's. I don't know what i can do now. My Defy keeps rebooting for over 2 hours now.
EDIT: It looks like that the problem has something to do with SIM? If i have no SIM plugged in everything works. So i managed to get CM9 working. When i use a SIM there, everything is fine. The problem just exists with a stock ROM.
I actually prefer cm9 to stock from. But there must be an answer to your problem. I'd try swapping sims when you have another available.

Today I tried another SIM and I got the same problem. But as i said only with stock ROM. CM9 runs perfectly.
That's pretty confusing....
Hi
I have regular defy with red lens.
I have flashed some time ago new Quarx rom with custom kernel from WIUI JB rom.
After that I am unable to flash any non custom kernel builds. Even when I did a full wipe and flashed Froyo kernel with CM7, I got stucked in boot-loop. I even can't go to Stock recovery.
Now I am running recent Quarx build, but during the boot my led light is red. Also the rom is quite unstable, and crashes quite lot whitch I think is not the problem of the rom, but problem with the phone.
I also tried to use different custom kernel with no success. Also I searched this forum for some answer with the same result.
I have never flashed any SBF to my phone, I have ever used nandroid backup.
(I got my phone with Eclair, but after I got my phone from warranty repair I got Froyo)
I'll probably try to solve this problem by flashing Froyo SBF and try it again.
Thank you for help.
EDIT:
When I tried to flash WIUI JB again, strange thing happen. It flashed normally but ROM did not see internal memory and crashed after RAM got full. Also recovery had listed some errors.
Another custom kernel roms also work, but with the same problem as CM10.
I have also set correct setting for rom in bootmenu (2nd boot or 2nd init).
I've just flashed the CM10 on my Defy+ (red lens), and now I'm stuck on "Turning wi-fi on".
After some research (like the whole night looking into it) I've found that my MAC Address is unavaiable, and I can't run the idme \? method, so I'm pretty low on options.
I'm running a MB526 (red lens)
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-AeroKernel [email protected]
CyanogenMod version 10-20130709-NIGHTLY-mb526
I've got IMEI and IMEI SV working (somewhat it seemed relevant in other posts)
What can I do to make my wi-fi work?
Thanks in advance, pretty awesome community here, first time flashing and I've been able to find almost everything I needed here.

Full wipe and flash again.
Ok, just did a full wipe (cache, data, system and dalvik) before flashing again, still no luck, no Mac Address and still stuck on "Turning wi-fi on".

Usually this works for me. Are you sure you are using minimal gapps?

I'm sure, I've tried flashing with both minimal gapps and the version with the google now also, both didn't work.
Tried reflashing, still not working, does anyone got a better idea?
Trying to find my NVS file, but I can't seem to find it.
IMEI is still there, but no NVS file
Tried to find my imed, or nvram, it would be nice if someone with experience could help me find the nvs of this rom so I could take a look, I'm pretty sure the error is in there. Ghost Mac app is not working to bypass the problem either, which I think it's because there is no file to alter.
