I am running galaxy task v13, and the screen randomly wakes up. Over the course of an 8hr night it drained itself 10+% battery.
No apps running (to my knowledge)
Any thoughts on this? Or a way to find out what is waking the system up?

Just an update if anyone runs into this issue,
"Tablet wallpapers" was pushing ADs and so I got an air-ad blocker and even with wifi turned off between the two apps it was running my tab to the ground.
Deleted both apps, upgraded to galaxy task v14, and going on 3days with over 60% battery

Hello folks.
I'm currently on Aokp 4.2.2 unofficial with Francos r90 Kernel, bootloader and Radio are both updated. I'm suffering from massive battery draining. I guess something isnt letting my CPU sleep properly, as i always get messages like "100% awake while screen off" from battery stats plus. I'm just getting up to 2 hours screen on time, and battery is falling by about ~7% / hour With normal usage (whatsapp, News, xda) and like 15 Minuten screen on time in that hour. Also, see the attached Images. I sometimes have wakelocks by audioOut_2 and as you can See, maps is using more battery than the Display itself.
On an additional Note, GPS is always off, im using Taster to locate, but with cell near only.
Would be very Kind to help me out of this issues, thank you a bunch!

Turn off Location Services for a little bit to see if that helps.
You should try a program like autostarts, and don't allow things to run unless explicitly started by yourself. This way it'll help identify if there is an misbehaving program.
I saw you were using franco r90 which could be an issue. Try going back to the last stable
I think you will like this application.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5vYXNpc2ZlbmcuZ3JlZW5pZnkiXQ..
This simple application will make your annoying applications to go to sleep. Therefore your phone can finally go to sleep like it should when it's not in use. I see that Google maps seems to be the culprit in your battery drain. You can use titanium backup and delete it and install it back again from the play store. After that you can use the application that I've given you and force it to go tot sleep.
Here's the forum for the application:

Thanks for your reply. Yeah im already thinking about flashing matr1x or trinity Kernels. How much screen on time Do you get with matr1x?
I reinstalled maps, greenified maps and facebook. Updated to Franco 92. Already getting better results with greenified maps, but i get following wakelocks:
"pm8921_eoc", "msm_otg" and AudioOut_2 and still notifications from bbs: 100% awake.
Apps running are: astrid, avast, Francos updater, Rom toolbox, Tasker

Does anyone have some knowledge about How to identify why Android OS is consuming so much battery Life? While screen off some process is waking up the Device, up to 1.5 GHz.

I also have MASSIVE draining issues. Took my phone off charge around 9am this morning... 1hr screen time... 8% battery left and its only 13:45 Pacific time...
Latest Faux running in dual core ECO MODE underclocked to 1.3Ghz with Stock 4.2.2,,,, still get ****ty ass battery life...

Coming from the iphone 4, good battery life is the most important thing i miss. I need a rock solid reliable phone or else would have started to mess around a read about Kernels to see how they may help with better battery life. My iPhone would last me 3-4 days of general use. To me General use is very light use..! With nexus it lasts max 1-2 days but more importantly i need to be concious what the battery level is. With th eiphone i never really bothered as i knoew i would get at least 2 days if not more.

Still got audioOut_2 wakelock. Except that onr, everything is fine After Kernel update, greenifying and disabling Autostarts

back many years ago (3 to 4 years) on my Xperia mini pro, i had to have a apps that kill background apps to save memory for foreground apps. now thats a thing of the past, android versions now can manage memory better...well yes, but not power...apparently if you leave some apps running on background it still consumes power on my note2 until you kill it.
i have a game "4 pics 1 word" which i think doesnt know how to properly "exit" that i left on background, 6 hours later my 100% battery came down to 52% because of AudioOut_2 partial wakelocks according to BetterBattery. Ive recharged my phone and restarted it, 6 hours later my battery is still 82%. thats 30% different because of an app that dont know how to sleep (insomnia apps).
so yeah, be careful of some apps that you leave on background, some of them dont know how to sleep.

I'm using DeepSleep Battery Saver. Great app works perfectly on my phone for several weeks now. Greatly increased battery life since it kills any unwanted app when putting the device in sleep mode.
Sv: And I thought killing apps on android is a thing of the past.
Even the xda premium app doesn't sleep properly.

Just use LBE security manager or some other app that can stop apps from autostarting and those apps will not run in the background anymore.
Note that LBE security manager is very comprehensive and might help with privacy and ads as well as some other things. Also download the en version from xda instead of the poorly translated version from the market.

Even I sometimes don't sleep properly. Just kidding... I noticed it too; XDA Premium and other apps sometimes drain battery due to partial wakelocks :-/ I don't understand how this can still be such a huge issue on a mobile operating system.......

It isn't an issue with the operating system - the issue is with poorly written apps!
There is always going to be a certain class of app that does need to keep the phone from sleeping quite legitimately, and you don't want the OS killing these off. Apps like XDA Premium really have very little reason to consume many CPU cycles when not active, so the fact it keeps the phone awake is the fault of the app and not the OS, because it can't determine if the wakelocks are legitimate (former class of app), or just as a result of poor coding (latter class of app).
Regards,
Dave
Uninstall 4in1 it has some nasty spam. Like opening a link in Chrome may make an advert open and then open the play store to one of their other apps.
Uninstall it.

The AudioOut_2 wakelock has something to do with alarms and silent mode, something I've never managed to remedy completely on the note 2. If you play a game or watch a video in silent mode, the wakelock will sometimes appear.
On topic, by far the best method to calm down nasty apps, is the app greenify here on xda and play store. If you read the first post of that thread, many of the answers to why android apps behave like this are there.

Does disabling the notification in xda premium help out with the sleep problems the app has?

I use greenify.
I have selected every app that uses sound or shows up in bbs.

I disable notifications on every app and now I noticed reduced times for partial wake locks.
Hi guys,
Last night I had 15% drop at the battery, wifi was off, gps was on.
From gsam i saw that the kernel drained the most.
Does anyone have any ideas how to avoid this kind of battery draining?
Few days after I got the phone I had 0%(!) battery drain at night and it was along few night, for some reason i cant reach same level of battery drain at night now.
Thanks in advance.
You have some weird apps keeping your phone awake, nova launcher? Have never seen that one in my list. Install betterbatterystats to see the wake locks in detail.

I don't think that's a wakelock list buddy, it's just listing which processes used the battery the most.
Apex, run this for a few hours and post a screenshot.
Betterbatterystats is an app that shows into detail the wakelocks, alarms, frequencies etc. Don't know the app you gave, maybe it does the same.

ok so here are the findings:
I froze news&weather since i dont use it and put taptalk on 3 hours intervals of checking.
I'll read more into BBS analysis to retrieve further information
anyone?
It doesn't seem like there are any weird wakelocks. How many hours of screen on time do you get?

Turn off your GPS.
Why do you need it on when you're sleeping? do you sleep walk? Don't answer that. Lol
I recommend downloading this app called "greenify" and find that app and hibernate it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I also installed greenify, but it just doesnt seem to work well... every now and then, when I check on greenify, I need to re-freeze the Maps App, even though I didnt start it in the mean time.
Speaking of which, why does Maps keep the phone awake that long (or wake it that often) and drain so much battery at all?
anyone got an answer to this?
My N10 has this 1 issues where the device keeps awake when the screen is on.

Did you mean when the screen is off? Because obviously it status awake while the screen is on. But there may be an app keeping it awake. Make sure all your apps are trusted

I'd go for a wakelock detecting app like "better battery stats" or "wakelock detector" to see which app could be the culprit. "Greenify" could then be used to block that app from keeping your tablet awake.
I personally do have no issues with standby whatsoever. I'd say I lose about 3-4% of battery during the day on 4.4. (WLAN and sync on all day, but I'm taking it to work where I have no WLAN I could use). I guess I had the same mimimum drain on 4.3. So standby couldn't be better on N10 in my opinion.
I only had one issue so far, where at about 25% of battery left it suddenly began to drain like 10-15% an hour, thus leading to my N10 shutting off after about 2 hours. No idea what caused that drain in standby.
I second that, get better battery stats or something similar to see what's keeping it awake.

mhm ... will not install 4.4 if the battery life is that terrible. Did you guys control the typical Google apps, which usually like to eat a lot of battery?
I have this since 4.4.2 on my Nexus 10 and 7v2. Not on the 5. My N10 uses almost every juice for Android OS. Before it used 5% for 1-2 days for standby. Now 3 hours. See screenshot. Is this normal?
And it wasn't awake. See other screenshot.
For the past few days, my Nexus 4 has been getting very strange periods of being awake. BBS reported that PowerManagerWakelocks was the culprit. But going into Partial wakelocks, there are barely any in there. What is causing these wakelocks? Thanks
It looks like it was awake the entire time you tested (which, IMO isn't long enough to diagnose most things...). Does anything weird show in the system battery stats? Any apps running that could be doing this?

In the system battery, Everytime the awake plague starts, Android OS has a very high keep awake count. I've tried to uninstall apps that could be suspicious, and to no avail. Here are some of today's stats
