Did you mean when the screen is off? Because obviously it status awake while the screen is on. But there may be an app keeping it awake. Make sure all your apps are trusted

when the screen is on. ive never experienced this when its on Jellybean 4.3
and all the apps ive downloaded are from Google Play Store of course.

I'd go for a wakelock detecting app like "better battery stats" or "wakelock detector" to see which app could be the culprit. "Greenify" could then be used to block that app from keeping your tablet awake.
I personally do have no issues with standby whatsoever. I'd say I lose about 3-4% of battery during the day on 4.4. (WLAN and sync on all day, but I'm taking it to work where I have no WLAN I could use). I guess I had the same mimimum drain on 4.3. So standby couldn't be better on N10 in my opinion.
I only had one issue so far, where at about 25% of battery left it suddenly began to drain like 10-15% an hour, thus leading to my N10 shutting off after about 2 hours. No idea what caused that drain in standby.

I second that, get better battery stats or something similar to see what's keeping it awake.

AFAIK, BBS needs root in order to use em. And i cant root the N10 as it belongs to my mother

You don't need root for bbs

Same here...very bad battery after moving to kitkat..
This is what I get...which is atleast 50% worse off
Update :- the charging time seems to have gone up significantly for both USB and power socket.

mhm ... will not install 4.4 if the battery life is that terrible. Did you guys control the typical Google apps, which usually like to eat a lot of battery?

I have this since 4.4.2 on my Nexus 10 and 7v2. Not on the 5. My N10 uses almost every juice for Android OS. Before it used 5% for 1-2 days for standby. Now 3 hours. See screenshot. Is this normal?
And it wasn't awake. See other screenshot.

What kind of apps do you have?? Like apps that you think might drain some battery. Also use betterbatterystat app to monitor what's waking your device.

With stock, around 2 hours of screen on time is typical. You can prolong the battery life by disable Google Now, location service, email sync, Playstore auto update, etc. Check your battery stats (try better battery stats from the store) to see if any third-party apps drain your battery.
The better way to do it is to unlock bootloader, root your phone then flash a custom kernel. I recommend franco.Kernel. 3-4 hours of screen on time is typical with franco.

Might as well flash a custom ROM with it if you're going to use a custom kernel IMO. When a new OTA, OP will have problems updating to it because he is using stock + custom kernel + custom recovery.
Here is how to fix your battery problem.
1. Turn off location access in Google Maps settings.
2. Wait about a week for the battery to go through its charge cycle 6-10 times. Let it get as low as possible without the battery dying (this is really bad) and be sure to let the battery sit at 100% for atleast a half hour or so when fully charged.
Each day you will see your battery life increase and when done, you should be getting around 5 hours screen on time.
Well dramatic change in battery life as displayed below. Now after having a read in several topics it seems like a fix is to have the wifi on. How strange as this goes against the ethos of all previous smartphones i have owned i.e. wifi on drains battery. I have uninstalled a few apps and also switched of location access, so to be sure that the fix is wifi related i will switch wifi off the next time i do a full charge and see how that behaves. By the way android os is way down in battery consumption now.

Massive battery issues

Hello folks.
I'm currently on Aokp 4.2.2 unofficial with Francos r90 Kernel, bootloader and Radio are both updated. I'm suffering from massive battery draining. I guess something isnt letting my CPU sleep properly, as i always get messages like "100% awake while screen off" from battery stats plus. I'm just getting up to 2 hours screen on time, and battery is falling by about ~7% / hour With normal usage (whatsapp, News, xda) and like 15 Minuten screen on time in that hour. Also, see the attached Images. I sometimes have wakelocks by audioOut_2 and as you can See, maps is using more battery than the Display itself.
On an additional Note, GPS is always off, im using Taster to locate, but with cell near only.
Would be very Kind to help me out of this issues, thank you a bunch!

Turn off Location Services for a little bit to see if that helps.
You should try a program like autostarts, and don't allow things to run unless explicitly started by yourself. This way it'll help identify if there is an misbehaving program.
I saw you were using franco r90 which could be an issue. Try going back to the last stable
I think you will like this application.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5vYXNpc2ZlbmcuZ3JlZW5pZnkiXQ..
This simple application will make your annoying applications to go to sleep. Therefore your phone can finally go to sleep like it should when it's not in use. I see that Google maps seems to be the culprit in your battery drain. You can use titanium backup and delete it and install it back again from the play store. After that you can use the application that I've given you and force it to go tot sleep.
Here's the forum for the application:

Coming from the iphone 4, good battery life is the most important thing i miss. I need a rock solid reliable phone or else would have started to mess around a read about Kernels to see how they may help with better battery life. My iPhone would last me 3-4 days of general use. To me General use is very light use..! With nexus it lasts max 1-2 days but more importantly i need to be concious what the battery level is. With th eiphone i never really bothered as i knoew i would get at least 2 days if not more.

High battery consumption by stock kernel

Hi guys,
Last night I had 15% drop at the battery, wifi was off, gps was on.
From gsam i saw that the kernel drained the most.
Does anyone have any ideas how to avoid this kind of battery draining?
Few days after I got the phone I had 0%(!) battery drain at night and it was along few night, for some reason i cant reach same level of battery drain at night now.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's a wakelock list buddy, it's just listing which processes used the battery the most.
Apex, run this for a few hours and post a screenshot.
Betterbatterystats is an app that shows into detail the wakelocks, alarms, frequencies etc. Don't know the app you gave, maybe it does the same.

ok so here are the findings:
I froze news&weather since i dont use it and put taptalk on 3 hours intervals of checking.

It doesn't seem like there are any weird wakelocks. How many hours of screen on time do you get?

Turn off your GPS.
Why do you need it on when you're sleeping? do you sleep walk? Don't answer that. Lol
I recommend downloading this app called "greenify" and find that app and hibernate it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I also installed greenify, but it just doesnt seem to work well... every now and then, when I check on greenify, I need to re-freeze the Maps App, even though I didnt start it in the mean time.
Speaking of which, why does Maps keep the phone awake that long (or wake it that often) and drain so much battery at all?
anyone got an answer to this?

Dude.. My phone was on 60 percent at 6pm once when I slept... Next morning at seven it was off... Wifi off data off.. All **** off... I dint even get a call or msg... Definitely not 1 percent I guess...
If I leave data and WiFi off, about 2% to 10% but that isn't usual. When I am home, I leave WiFi on and that gets my currents and YouTube video preloaded. 15% to 20% Max. I rarely leave it to charge overnight.

REBOOTED - nothing, drain battery like hell, lose about 30-40% in 5 hours...
I woke up with 15-20% battery drained... wtf guys ?
I kill all apps, turn of data, wifi and etc, still nothing...
BATTERY STATUS - messaging use 84% of battery... wtf ?
To all of you having problems with battery drain, you should know that last Google Maps update messed up the deep sleep state of the system.
I´m running Carbon ROM, but also tested with other 2 ROM´s and the results were the same, around 20%-25% battery drain over night.
I read that disabling "Reporting Location" and "Location History" under Location settings in the Google Settings app(the one with the green icon) helps a little, but still is an issue.
With these settings disabled, I get around 5% battery drain over night. Although the wakelock has decreased, is still there waking up the device. Already reported to Google to see if they can do anything to fix it. The wakelock appears as "Android System" or "Google Services".
Before update I had around 3% battery drain over night(around 8 hours) with WiFi.
Hope this helps.
:fingers-crossed:
As a battery life druggie, I get 1% max. Regardless rom. Usually wifi off and 2g data on. (wifi on is bad for HUMAN DEEP SLEEP).
A not sure useful or not hint, set pm.sleep_mode=1 in your build.prop
Disable everything you can think of. Wifi, gps etc.
Uninstall bloatwares, replace with downloadable ones, use greenify to freeze them.

Android OS wakelock draining battery

I've seen people here and there say they've seen this too, but no one seems to have an answer. My battery isn't lasting until work ENDS, a far cry from when I used to plug it in after work, at home, at 20-30%. It just randomly started happening.
Noticed this on both 4.2.2 and 4.3. I've tried .48 radio and .83, stock and PA, stock kernel and Franco, heard it's common on CM also.
Anyone actually know anything about this? I'd love to last an entire day not having to turn off sync when I'm not using my phone, and other battery salvaging methods.

your android os looks normal. seeing that you didnt use the phone much, your screen on percent is lowered. since your screen on percentage is lower, all others will appear higher than you would think they should be. but if your screen was using 50-65% of the battery as it would for normal use, then your other percentages would be lower. anyways, your android os is normal. what i would look for is an app in the background behaving badly, or disable a notification or two if you have many. if you have root, i would install greenify and then greenify a bunch of apps.
my android os usually hangs between 4-8%, but my screen is usually around 60%(with heavy use).

i never look at wakelocks, that is how our device is supposed to work. granted, occasionally an app will create a wakelock that gets stuck, but thats just bad coding on the app by that developer. watching wakelocks will waste more of your time than its worth. take control of your apps instead, dont let them run rampart.
Neither BBS or Wakelock Detector is helpful in diagnosing Android OS battery usage. Most of the time it shows as PowerManagerService.Wakelock in Kernel Wakelocks, and pages from google state that is it a sum of Partial Wakelocks adding to PowerManagerService.Wakelock. But there was one time I had a 15 hour wakelock from PowerManagerService.Wakelock and looking in Partial there wasn't anything really significant, most entries being 20mins or something at the top of the list, 10 minutes on the next, and so on.
Whatever it is, it's particularly bad on 4.3 both on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.
So I listened to some music for roughly 20 minutes in the car. Set my phone down to watch TV. Came back 45 minutes later and it dropped ~25%. This is WITH 3.5 hours SOT. android somehow still takes top spot. Help?

Everything was fine after the 4.4.2 update until a couple of days ago. I noticed a heavy battery drain during the night - approx. 20%. The conclusion I made: Android OS is back. The WiFi was on, but the router was off, so I though it might have something to do with it trying to establish a connection.
This past night I turned the WiFi off and left the 3G on. 10+ hours of wakelock from Android OS and 30% drain. So, what am I missing here?
The worst part is that those f"%^* from Android developers team has disabled any reporting from the running processes in the latest version.

You can use the stock google app to find what google app is running during the wakelocks. Just go into Settings -> Apps -> Running tab and see what google process are running. Then download and use "Disable Service" from the playstore to find and disable the suspect google apps.
My phone would stay wakelocked after a call or gmail check all because of gcm_google service. I disable it under Playstore services using Disable Service and my google wakelocks went away. Worth a try.
same problem here
misuse of wake locks can easily lead to energy waste
"Android os" usually is the kernel while "Android system" is, well the system. Try changing kernel, it fixed the issues for me.
Hit thanks if I helped you
