[Q] Error catalyst control center - Windows 8 General

Hi, install the windows 8 consumer preview but the ccc does not work, can not be opened and then fails , i have a hd 4850 and i can not do screen scaling

I have the same issue with the same card. Hopefully someone can figure out the issue.

I'm getting the same problem here

install it with comparability mode for windows 7 and it will work when will finish setup it will ask u to download net frame work 3.5 and it will work

fix to issue. here

Same card, same problem. ATI Tray Tools doesn't work either...
I have a random graphic bug on the desktop (only on the desktop), it randomly flashs black...

I was able to get ccc running by removing all the ati drivers and reinstalling by setting the installation file to run in windows 7 compatibility and run as admin. The issue I have now is while trying to watch anything on YouTube the video card runs as if I were gaming heavily and Firefox freezes up, this also occurs with IE. Hopefully these issues will get worked out soon.

I guess you didn't install the windows 8 CP drivers?
support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Windows8ConsumerPreviewDrivers.aspx
There you go. Only problem is you will need to COMPLETLY remove all other drivers. I recommend re do the installation and install only these drivers/.

Install driver in compatible mode with windows 7, the ccc and it worked, i set the screen scaling, but the problem now is that every time I switch on my pc all the ccc values are reset and must reconfigure the scaling

Those drivers didn't work for me and as outlined on that page the Radeon HD 4000 series isn't supported.
On another note now that I have the drivers working by using compatibility mode as previously stated adobe flash constantly crashes. I think this is due to hardware acceleration from the video card. Anyone else with this issue?

some problem here, looking for answer..

Guys, installing 11-12_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe by right clicking and selecting Troubleshoot Compatability (which set it to Win XP SP3) has solved this for me.
CCC installs and runs fine, I can configure the overscan and my second monitor is finally back to normal.

Are you able to get flash videos to work on youtube or vimeo or anyplace online? I am finding my browser freezes and I can hear audio but see a solid green color where the video should be. This occurs under the desktop and metro version of IE, the latest beta of Firefox and the latest beta of Chrome. I have uninstalled, rebooted computer and reinstalled flash mutliple times as well as the drivers for my Radeon 4890. I believe flash uses hardware acceleration from the graphics card which may or may not get corrected anytime soon.

Yes - flash video is working fine. I'm using Chrome as primary browser but have also just tested with IE and it's ok.
Here's the steps I took:
1. Install .NET 3.5 from Windows features
2. Remove any previous ATI/AMD installs INCLUDING the Windows 8 default ATI Driver
3. Install 11-12_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl
4. Did a custom install and could see it will install its own driver
Couple of shots for you:

Windows CE USB Devices cannot be installed and Active Sync issues

Hi,
To start off I`m using Garmin`s Kumara Touch - WM6 Premium. Just later I had the same problem I had before, active doesn't work. cables are properly plugged in, soft reset doesn't change a thing, when i go to My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Other Devices here appears Windows CE USB Devices with an exclamation point on it. As I was saying, I had the issue before and the resolution was a hard reset. My question is, has anyone encountered the same problem i had? because I don`t like the hard reset part. I have to reinstall everything I have in my PPC, I also tried a full back up via SPB Backup then did a hard reset then did a full restore, still the Unrecognized / Un-installed Windows CE USB Devices appears on Device Manager.
Can anyone help me with this. It would really be appreciated..
WMstorage works well btw, i can charge etc via WMstorage.
Here's the screenshot I get in Device Manager

Am I installing incorrectly?

Being a Mac user and not using Windows mobile device for over 6 years, I seem to have totally forgotten some basics.
I bought a game from handango called Resco Guardians
http://www.handango.com/catalog/Pro...349&sectionId=7612&merch=L1_Bestsellers_Games
(it stated the game should work on HD2) but totally forgotten how to install 3rd party apps..in the old days I remember using Activesync. But now, I loaded the exe file to the device memory card and tried to run/install it from there, but got message this is not a PPC compatible software.
Have I installed it wrong or is it simple not compatible?
Also, is there specific drivers I need to install for Windows 7 to recognise my device, as the Windows 7 mobile app does not seem to recognise my HD2.
Thanks for advice and please excuse the fact that my mind has gone blank regarding Windows.
The .exe is for your PC. It will automatically add your new game to ActiveSync, and send it over when you next dock.
For Windows 7 you need to download the Windows Mobile Device Centre. No drivers are required.
Connect HD2 via Active Sync or Windows Media Center for Vista and Win7 and run .exe file from PC... It´l install your game to your PDA...
You dont need any drivers...
Do I select Activesync or Hard disk mode (usb plug option)? it must be todo with me trying to connect using VMWare Fusion, as the device does not seem to be recognised.
Active Sync mode, btw Windows 7 should already have Windows Mobile Device Centre installed form what I know, is there no cd/software with the hd2?
Yes device centre present, but no CD with HD2, in Activesync mode, device is not recognised...maybe to do with me running Windows in Virtual mode..but never happened before with Blackberry etc.
Just tried connecting my HD2 with a Vista laptop, still cannot connect in Activesync mode. Could a HD2 owner please tell me how they are connecting to their PC. Maybe an option I have not selected?
Thanks
You need to install Windows Mobile Device Centre for Vista, not Activesync

Thanks for link, its already installed (and reinstalled it) but there seems to be a problem with HD2 being recognised...did your phone come with a CD?
OK fixed it - for anybody else who may encounter same problem...make sure "Enable Faster Data Sync" is NOT checked in USB to PC setting.
That's odd, mines checked and it works fine. I am using Windows 7 and not Vista so may thats why it works for me?
At least its working now!
Yes since I unchecked the option, now works on Windows 7 and Vista in virtual mode on my Mac.

Blue Screen Crash Upon ActiveSync. HELP!

As soon as I connect my HD2 TMOUS (Touch X-TREME), my computer crashes.
I've hard reset the phone, erased all data on sd, removed sd, removed WMDC, reinstalled WMDC, but it keeps crashing.
What do I do?

it shouldn't have to do anything with the phone, so I guess erasing the sd or hard resets are not necessary... which version of windows do you use? is it 32 bit or 64 bit? did you install the correct version of wmdc? and did you restart your computer prior to reinstalling wmdc?
If it's a BSoD it's very likely a hardware or driver problem...probably not something related to WMDC per se.
Can you post the details of the BSoD (AKA "Stop error screen")?
You should be able to find said details in the Event Log...
So I think there is something wrong with WMDC and my comp now.
Nothing else causes the crash but WMDC related programs. connecting the phone, starting WMDC on my laptop and/or reinstalling now.
Windows 7 64bit.
Ive had HD2 for 2 weeks, flashed few ROMS, and I've never had that problem until tonight. I wonder what had changed since this morning and now.
Sorry, I don't know how to work event viewer.
I might just do a clean windows install and see what is up.
Oddest thing...

I saw your post.
I said, I don't know how to work event viewer.
And yes, I've installed the correct version os WMDC seeing as it was the same file I used to install WMDC in the first place and that worked fantastically until now.
I don't know much about computers. that's why I'm here asking for a help because this kept happening only when I was doing stuff with WMDC.
The reason why I said I might do a clean install is because that might somehow fix my issues, so I wanted to do everything I can do first so that I wouldn't waste your time looking into my issue.

There's not really much to "work".
You hit Start, and search for it by typing "Event Viewer" into search -- it should be the top result, so you should just be able to hit ENTER.
Then you go to "Windows Logs" and below that "System" and look for the entry that corresponds to your STOP error screen.
If you sort by "Level" (by clicking the column header) you should be able to sort the most important entries to the top, thereby making your search a bit easier (pretty much everything gets logged in the event log...).
Once you find the error that corresponds to your STOP error screen (match up the time indexes), click on it, and that'll give you information in the bottom half of the screen.
Copy and paste that information here.
Here's a picture:

Unfortunately (?) my event log doesn't have a STOP error screen log entry in it...because my computers never BSoDs (properly-configured computers rarely do)...

Run Android on your PC or Laptop..for real.

Want to run Android on your PC or Laptop?
This is pretty cool, did it this morning.
If you have troubles with getting your internet to work in it, what I did was put my EVO in USB tethering mode, plugged it into my PC..then booted the PC and it worked great.
1. Download Android from here..android-x86-1.6-r2.iso
2. Download UNetBootin
Now you have a few choices... either just burn the ISO to a cd (and boot your computer off it) or use unetbootin to make a usb thumb drive bootable with the ISO image on it.

I just booted up off a thumb drive so it doesn't effect your current os... you could also burn the ISO on to a cd and bootup off the CD...
You don't actually install this on your hard drive or anything. You could, but it'd be kinda pointless.
Would be very cool to run on a Netbook, see how android translates as a Netbook OS.
how about froyo2.2??
I tried it on my laptop Dell E4200 but I cannot run it. I tried all LIVE modes but nothing happened.
mine gets stuck on detecting android x86. I even tried burning the disk and got stuck in the same place. I really want to try this.
This is sick!! Can anyone think of any possible way to install apk files???? Can I add Google Apps somehow??
You can boot from Virtual PC too
Hi, i have successfully booted from Windows Virtual PC software..
You need to :
1. Download Windows Virtual PC
2. Go Bios to enable CPU virtualization technology(newer pc would have this function)
3. install the Windows Virtual PC software
4. Create a virtual disk
5. Give it any name
6. Go to Settings for that Virtual Disk
7. Search for dvd drive and point it to the android iso
8. Boot up the Virtual Drive you have created
9. select the third option, debug, and follow the instruction there, you should type exit twice to boot into android
10. Wella you have reached android
10a. Make sure you got a ethernet connection on your pc
10b. Try either ethernet port 1 or 2 to get connected to the internet by editing in the android ethernet settings.
Hope this helps

I would assume that the OS uses the flash drive as a filesystem- so put the APKs on the flash drive, download a file manager from the web and install using the file manager.
Also I can't get this to work in VirtualBox, it says the ISO file is invalid.
I read about this months ago but never did give it a go. I can only imagine how awesome this would be to run on a computer that has a touchscreen monitor.
That said... once windows releases a few of their tablets and we have the option to boot into android.............. AWESOME!!!
This is confusing...no matter how I try to start it, it always comes to a black screen with an underscore that blinks every couple of seconds
This came out just in time.....not even 3 days ago I was looking at live android, which has been discontinued as it seems
Mac OSX
I got a Macbook Pro and I wanted to try, so I used Parrells desktop and mounted the ISO as as a Windows 7 (unsure if that was right) but it seemed to work just fine
Check it out!
Android on OSX -
Got it running on my Acer Aspire one, wifi works and I can connect to the internet! this is awesome!
Wow, I can run it under VirtualBox on Fedora 13... nice. Unfortunetaly I do not have touch screen so handling is a little bit tricky.
i got it running in virtualbox. just set up a virtual system and use ubuntu linux as the virtual system to be created and use the defaults to create the system
I got it running on an HP DV6 laptop coppied it to a usb drive booted up and it works fine and the internet, nice work thanks for this
it runs great under vmware workstation 7. even internet works I just wished the real market was pre-installed. im pretty sure someone will get froyo into a iso now that this version is getting attention
will the touchscreen be usable if you install android on a Tablet or UMPC?
I'm getting a Sony Vaio UX this week and that would be a realy cool android device!!

Windows 11 on windows yogabook

Does anyone here have made the update to windows 11 on a windows yogabook ?
I've try this and with help of MediaCreationTool.bat i was able to overpass the processor compatibility.
It donwload the update, run all the install but at the end of this process i Come with an error and the update process colse to delete all this work, coming with just a windows 10 after all.
When the update finish i have 2 type of error
attempted write to readonly memory
Or
Error in safe_os with an error on Boot operator
Don't know why i have this error and how to fix it.
I try on a fresh install with my old files and already try to à New clean install, but all this try i already have an error....
Does anybody here have this error and can clear it to made the update or run the windows 11 update without problems on a yogabook ?
Nope, I was not facing any issues with the Install. (sorry, don't ask for a guide as there already are hundreds of it. Google it)
Furthermore, I am already testing WSA and it's surprisingly working fluid. You obviously get the 4GB warning but once WSA is fully loaded it's "bingo". (check OneDrive & Adobe Draw running side by side). I had 5 Apps running at the same time but the process usage in the Taskmanager was not freaking out (if you compare it to Bluestacks etc) !
And yes, pen works perfectly in the Android Apps...

Thanks for your answer, my problem is not how to made the w11 update, cause i already install it on another pc, but why i have this error, i already try three time to install it and already have the Same error (First time i try to give my files and i have this error, thinking this can be the problem i made the Same process but with a clean install, same result and last time i totally reinstall my yogabook with a clean install and try to launch w11 update on it (with MediaCreationTool.bat each time) and i have the Same result)
Each time the donwload process go to the end and the install work fine (i have no reboot du ring all the update) but when i came to the final (and First) boot of w11 i have this error on a Black screen (old blue screen of windows) and the pc uninstall the update and come back to w10.....

Did you try to start in safe mode and run "mdsched.exe" ? (Usually pressing F8 right after the lenovo bios logo appears, but you will probably need and external usb keyboard for this)
@jamespmi
Thanks for your time and your help.
For the BIOS update Yes it directly come from the lenovo site (the only update aviable so i can't make mistake).
I just try to make a full run of mdsched.exe in safe mode (really hard to keep a usb keyboard cause my 2 wireless keyboard wasn't reconnised in safe mode) and no error after the check...
I really don't understand what can block the W11 update on my yogabook.
Also try to install with desableing all non essentiel app and service at startup..... No more result.....
The only option i do not try is to make the update in safe mode (don't know if it's possible...)
Hey,
typing this from my W11 yoga book... i used the reg tweak as described in this article and just started upgrading by opening the ISO in W10 https://pureinfotech.com/install-windows-11-unsupported-pc/
Needed to install some drivers again, but overall it works okay. Just disable all animations. Because our old tablet just can't handle those any more.
is there any benefit in using vw11 instead of w10 in performance terms? I would go for w11 but only performance driven as WSL is running fine ;-)
