Want to run Android on your PC or Laptop?
This is pretty cool, did it this morning.
If you have troubles with getting your internet to work in it, what I did was put my EVO in USB tethering mode, plugged it into my PC..then booted the PC and it worked great.
1. Download Android from here..android-x86-1.6-r2.iso
2. Download UNetBootin
Now you have a few choices... either just burn the ISO to a cd (and boot your computer off it) or use unetbootin to make a usb thumb drive bootable with the ISO image on it.

ok so this looks bad a** but like is it a dual boot? or is it if you dont have the memory card you cant run it? im running ubuntu and think this would be pretty sweet if you have the UI of this but still have the functioning of ubuntu

I just booted up off a thumb drive so it doesn't effect your current os... you could also burn the ISO on to a cd and bootup off the CD...
You don't actually install this on your hard drive or anything. You could, but it'd be kinda pointless.
Would be very cool to run on a Netbook, see how android translates as a Netbook OS.
how about froyo2.2??
I tried it on my laptop Dell E4200 but I cannot run it. I tried all LIVE modes but nothing happened.
mine gets stuck on detecting android x86. I even tried burning the disk and got stuck in the same place. I really want to try this.
This is sick!! Can anyone think of any possible way to install apk files???? Can I add Google Apps somehow??
You can boot from Virtual PC too
Hi, i have successfully booted from Windows Virtual PC software..
You need to :
1. Download Windows Virtual PC
2. Go Bios to enable CPU virtualization technology(newer pc would have this function)
3. install the Windows Virtual PC software
4. Create a virtual disk
5. Give it any name
6. Go to Settings for that Virtual Disk
7. Search for dvd drive and point it to the android iso
8. Boot up the Virtual Drive you have created
9. select the third option, debug, and follow the instruction there, you should type exit twice to boot into android
10. Wella you have reached android
10a. Make sure you got a ethernet connection on your pc
10b. Try either ethernet port 1 or 2 to get connected to the internet by editing in the android ethernet settings.
Hope this helps

I would assume that the OS uses the flash drive as a filesystem- so put the APKs on the flash drive, download a file manager from the web and install using the file manager.
Also I can't get this to work in VirtualBox, it says the ISO file is invalid.
I read about this months ago but never did give it a go. I can only imagine how awesome this would be to run on a computer that has a touchscreen monitor.
That said... once windows releases a few of their tablets and we have the option to boot into android.............. AWESOME!!!
This is confusing...no matter how I try to start it, it always comes to a black screen with an underscore that blinks every couple of seconds
This came out just in time.....not even 3 days ago I was looking at live android, which has been discontinued as it seems
Mac OSX
I got a Macbook Pro and I wanted to try, so I used Parrells desktop and mounted the ISO as as a Windows 7 (unsure if that was right) but it seemed to work just fine
Check it out!
Android on OSX -
Got it running on my Acer Aspire one, wifi works and I can connect to the internet! this is awesome!
Wow, I can run it under VirtualBox on Fedora 13... nice. Unfortunetaly I do not have touch screen so handling is a little bit tricky.
i got it running in virtualbox. just set up a virtual system and use ubuntu linux as the virtual system to be created and use the defaults to create the system
I got it running on an HP DV6 laptop coppied it to a usb drive booted up and it works fine and the internet, nice work thanks for this
it runs great under vmware workstation 7. even internet works I just wished the real market was pre-installed. im pretty sure someone will get froyo into a iso now that this version is getting attention
will the touchscreen be usable if you install android on a Tablet or UMPC?
I'm getting a Sony Vaio UX this week and that would be a realy cool android device!!

Hi, install the windows 8 consumer preview but the ccc does not work, can not be opened and then fails , i have a hd 4850 and i can not do screen scaling
I have the same issue with the same card. Hopefully someone can figure out the issue.
I'm getting the same problem here
install it with comparability mode for windows 7 and it will work when will finish setup it will ask u to download net frame work 3.5 and it will work
fix to issue. here
Same card, same problem. ATI Tray Tools doesn't work either...
I have a random graphic bug on the desktop (only on the desktop), it randomly flashs black...
I was able to get ccc running by removing all the ati drivers and reinstalling by setting the installation file to run in windows 7 compatibility and run as admin. The issue I have now is while trying to watch anything on YouTube the video card runs as if I were gaming heavily and Firefox freezes up, this also occurs with IE. Hopefully these issues will get worked out soon.
I guess you didn't install the windows 8 CP drivers?
support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Windows8ConsumerPreviewDrivers.aspx
There you go. Only problem is you will need to COMPLETLY remove all other drivers. I recommend re do the installation and install only these drivers/.
Install driver in compatible mode with windows 7, the ccc and it worked, i set the screen scaling, but the problem now is that every time I switch on my pc all the ccc values are reset and must reconfigure the scaling

Those drivers didn't work for me and as outlined on that page the Radeon HD 4000 series isn't supported.
On another note now that I have the drivers working by using compatibility mode as previously stated adobe flash constantly crashes. I think this is due to hardware acceleration from the video card. Anyone else with this issue?
some problem here, looking for answer..
Guys, installing 11-12_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe by right clicking and selecting Troubleshoot Compatability (which set it to Win XP SP3) has solved this for me.
CCC installs and runs fine, I can configure the overscan and my second monitor is finally back to normal.

Are you able to get flash videos to work on youtube or vimeo or anyplace online? I am finding my browser freezes and I can hear audio but see a solid green color where the video should be. This occurs under the desktop and metro version of IE, the latest beta of Firefox and the latest beta of Chrome. I have uninstalled, rebooted computer and reinstalled flash mutliple times as well as the drivers for my Radeon 4890. I believe flash uses hardware acceleration from the graphics card which may or may not get corrected anytime soon.

Yes - flash video is working fine. I'm using Chrome as primary browser but have also just tested with IE and it's ok.
Here's the steps I took:
1. Install .NET 3.5 from Windows features
2. Remove any previous ATI/AMD installs INCLUDING the Windows 8 default ATI Driver
3. Install 11-12_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl
4. Did a custom install and could see it will install its own driver

The Windows Phone 8 Emulator is installed as a part of the Windows Phone 8 SDK. You can follow some steps below to begin hacking the emulator.
Things to do:
everything....
InteropUnlock
BCD Editing
Well, first thing is first. Getting the WP8 SDK to install.
PREREQUISITES:
A SLAT capable CPU and BIOS. Some OEMs have only enabled the virtualization feature, but missed the SLAT feature.
Your computer needs to support hardware DEP (No execute bit for AMD).
An OS that supports Hyper-V: Server 2008, 2008R2, 2010, 2012, 2012R2, or Windows 8 Pro.
Note: AFAIK, the only officially supported OS for this is Win8Pro-x64
Access to a user account that has Administrator rights.
Steps for "Getting Ready!"
Set the date to 10/5/13 - one day before expiration (thanks to mister2d.)
Install the SDK normally. (Note: the complete SDK should be installable on any 64bit OS that has the OS version at 6.1 or newer, just follow the tutorial in my signature.)
Install the Visual Studio Update 4.
Install the Windows Phone Emulator - Update 3
Now, most of you can launch the emulator by opening the Windows Phone Deployment Tool (or Windows Phone Power Tools) and deploy to the resolution of choice and to either RTM or GDR3.
I seemed to hit a bug where XDE (the emulator shell) can't create a Virtual Machine properly. It seems to be surrounding the disk being attached improperly.
So.... You can skip the entire part above if you have the Flash.vhd and the desired resolution vhd.
Using the WP8 emulator only using Hyper-V Manager
Open Hyper-V Manager
Click on New, then Virtual Machine
Name the VM what ever you like.
Set RAM at 512 or 1024. 2048 me be a little finicky.
Leave Networking on Not Connected unless you have fully configured Hyper-V.
Select "Attach a virtual hard disk later"
Click Finish.
Right click on the VM you have just created and go to settings.
Click on DVD Drive and press remove.
Click on Hard Drive and paste the location of the desired resolution vhd.
e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0GDR3\Emulation\Images\Flash.480x800.vhd
Double click on the VM to bring up the control interface and press the blue-green "start" button.
Controls for the VM:
Back - Escape/F1
Start - F2
Search - F3
Vol UP - F9
Vol Down - F10
Camera full-press? - F7
Mouse left & right click - tap
NOTE: THE CURSOR DISAPPEARS WHEN MOVED INTO THE VM SCREEN.
Things disable out of box.
Microsoft accounts
dialer (I can't seem to get any of the dialer codes to work yet.)
camera (kinda...just displays a colored box running around the edges.)
Steps to InteropUnlock:
Attach the vhd
type diskmgmt.msc at the start screen. click attach vhd. paste the location of the vhd and press ok.
e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0GDR3\Emulation\Images\Flash.480x800.vhd
right click on blue disk shown and click on detach vhd once done with working on it.
type regedit.exe at the start screen.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Click File, Load Hive.
Go to the main partition (the one that has all the links to the other drives...)
and go down to Windows\System32\config (it will ask for permission to enter...)
Hmm....Seems to be interopunlocked already...
More soon!
reserved
Just saying this in case you didn't know this: You can mount the VHD file as a hardware and explore/edit emulator system files.
That's exactly what's in the op, but I'm not sure what persists and there's a few others too, but I ran out of time to mess with it. Just highlight the text and you'll see that the directions are there.
Essentially this should be able to operate like a real device, but it needs a few tweaks. Also its funny to see in settings for it to say i386 under the SoC.
Sent from my Lumia 928 (RM-860) using Tapatalk
Convert VHD into vmdisk, then you can run the emulator in VMWare directly with CPU without SALT or VT and can also without win8
Saw this over on the winbeta site. Didn't really check it out but may be useful in backing up any work done on the emulators. As I said I didn't take much time checking it out but may be worth a look. http://go.altaro.com/?LP=WinBeta-30...tm_medium=banner-300x250&utm_campaign=winbeta
What would be really nice is to make it so you can connect your MS account from the emulator.

Well if you TRY instead of install you can get a feel for it, see if you like living with the grub boot loader. There are ways of using the windows boot manager and there are free windows tools out there that will help you do this.
What would be your reason for not using Grub2 it is a very solid boot loader and I have never had issue with it on any of my devices? Just out of curiosity is all.
I'm pretty sure Grub2 just points at the Windows Bootloader anyway. It's like a symlink.
Thank you both for tour interest.
I am actually a former linux user, so i know what it's like to live with grub.
I also remember that i used to install grub in the linux partition, and then i added a string in the boot.ini file to create the linux entry (i am talking about win xp).
I don't like to replace the bootloader because i want to keep the install as clean and portable as possible.
if i decide to remove phoenixos, i don't want grab to remain on my pc. that's all.
it is strange that no one can answer this question.

I have Phoenix installed on my SSD. Along with Linux Mint and Windows 8.1. Grub does well with the triple boot. If you are running Windows 10, you can UEFI boot... Also if you do a fresh install of Windows it will pretty much eliminate all other boot partitions.
In lew of Grub you can also burn super grub disk 2 or gparted to a USB. They have a utility to boot any partition manually. I use it all the time. Like after a fresh install of Windows has erased and rewritten my MBR.
I always keep my installation media handy.
If you use Rufus Installer with the iso then you can choose which partition to install Grub to. Or not at all.
@lomax84 if you install Phoenix on your HDD using the included installer, you can later use the uninstall feature and you won't see grub anymore. It's pretty safe.
@Vioner
everything as you said, thanks.

Use Rufus Installer provided in my guide. Burn the iso to a USB. Format, if needed and install Phoenix on the desired partition. Install grub2 on the same partition but do not format. You may have to then manually enter Windows into grub.cfg. I don't know how to do that from Windows though, I always dual boot with Linux.
Another thing you could try. Do as above but do not install grub2 or grub. When you want to boot into Phoenix, use the USB and choose live mode. The probe should detect the installation and boot it.
It a shame that PhoenixOSInstaller-v1.1.2-226.exe doesn't have no boot support for the 64bit board. Only for the 32bit computers. When are they gonna start supporting 64bit computers? 32bit seem way out of date.
My computer doesn't support 32bit. Only have a 64bit option on my board. I really want to try this.
@Dunard Every 64bit compatible PC supports 32bit as well. You can try it just fine.
Recent Phoenix OS release supports upto 64GB of RAM for 32bit system. Also there is one 64bit build you could try - http://bbs.phoenixstudio.org/en/showthread.php?tid=2069

@Dunard Let us know if any errors show after selecting Phoenix OS from Grub boot menu. Pictures of those are most useful. We need specific info.
PhoenixOSInstaller-v1.1.1-64 files won't boot as well. Here is two snapshots. One of those snapshot it showing that boot isn't listed. Other one shown it listed but the boot put me back to the boot list screen. Never had this kind of problem with release_Remix_OS_for_PC_Android_M_64bit_B2016112101.

TheYellowRay said:
Hi there XDA team,
Recently, a team of developers have successfully installed windows 11 on a Lumia phone (a Nokia windows phone) https://woa-project.github.io/LumiaWOA/, they re-engineered and created drivers - this allowed for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even audio!
This got me thinking.... could there be a way to run windows on a bigger screen (tablet)?
I remembered that I had an old Samsung Tab 2 10.1" (I wouldn't mind sacrificing it) and I knew a way to get ARM64 images from a website: https://uupdump.net/.
I looked up the requirements for windows 11 and I realized that they were WAY above what the tablet was capable of...…
I installed CPU-Z to really see how big the gap was - and it was painfully huge.
But I had installed windows 11 to a RPI 3b+ before (512 GB RAM) so I knew there was a way.
The only real problem was the storage (16 GB model), so I had to grab a spare 32 gig SDHC card (could you please confirm if I could use an SDXC card?, thanks)- this would mean that would have to boot off it (I would then utilise the extra 16GB internal).
I would follow along with the first part of this video remotely, as it did not require to be in the installer(the CMD and registry bit (load hive), but without the installer): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxJ6a-PY1KA
I completed this successfully, avoiding all restrictions (I could tamper with the registry if it caused problems later).
I also switched the primary partition to fat32, because the device can't read NTFS (maybe its just Android?).
The issue now was to boot from the SD card (I feared this as soon as I had begun the project )
I thought that my first 2 steps should be to root and unlock the bootloader, but I immediately discovered that when my 30 pin cable connected to my PC, the device did not show up in the explorer and begin to setup the device (install drivers); this was a problem because Kingoroot (root creator) required access to the device in order to boot and unlock it.
But the strange thing was that the cable was delivering power to the tablet... (data pins broken?) could this mean that 30 pin does not support data/media interaction (i am in the process of finding another cable, which I know I have) ?
So I tried the APK, but when loading it spring up with a message "Error while parsing package" and terminates (my android version is 4.2.2).
So I thought about a Mod, but that requires root.
I thought that my only option was a physical motherboard interaction..... https://www.digi.com/resources/documentation/digidocs/90001546/task/android/t_faq_boot_from_usd_card_android.htm
It does say Android image, but windows is ARM64 with a EFI partition FAT32 so it shouldn't be a problem to read off of.
But the only things that I was not certain about was that if those motherboard switches existed on this device and if this also required root or an unlocked bootloader (please do tell me if these are true or false).
The second option was multi-booting.....https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/can-i-boot-android-from-a-external-sd-card.3803666/
and
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/multiboot-recovery-boot-multiple-roms-v2-2-twrp2-8-3-0.2684052/
this option required VFAT, which I'm not sure if windows can read off of.
So I decided to turn to the forms!
Can you guys please help me with this booting issue, it would be much appreciated!
BTW this is not for regular use, this is just an experiment and a bit of fun!
Thank you for reading and responding in advance!
P.S. I'm 13 years old so please don't get angry if I'm not very wise!
Pls tell me straight up if its not possible.
I apologise if I have misused any terminology.

It donwload the update, run all the install but at the end of this process i Come with an error and the update process colse to delete all this work, coming with just a windows 10 after all.
When the update finish i have 2 type of error
attempted write to readonly memory
Or
Error in safe_os with an error on Boot operator
Don't know why i have this error and how to fix it.
I try on a fresh install with my old files and already try to à New clean install, but all this try i already have an error....
Does anybody here have this error and can clear it to made the update or run the windows 11 update without problems on a yogabook ?
Nope, I was not facing any issues with the Install. (sorry, don't ask for a guide as there already are hundreds of it. Google it)
Furthermore, I am already testing WSA and it's surprisingly working fluid. You obviously get the 4GB warning but once WSA is fully loaded it's "bingo". (check OneDrive & Adobe Draw running side by side). I had 5 Apps running at the same time but the process usage in the Taskmanager was not freaking out (if you compare it to Bluestacks etc) !
And yes, pen works perfectly in the Android Apps...

Thanks for your answer, my problem is not how to made the w11 update, cause i already install it on another pc, but why i have this error, i already try three time to install it and already have the Same error (First time i try to give my files and i have this error, thinking this can be the problem i made the Same process but with a clean install, same result and last time i totally reinstall my yogabook with a clean install and try to launch w11 update on it (with MediaCreationTool.bat each time) and i have the Same result)
Each time the donwload process go to the end and the install work fine (i have no reboot du ring all the update) but when i came to the final (and First) boot of w11 i have this error on a Black screen (old blue screen of windows) and the pc uninstall the update and come back to w10.....
No idea where and why you struggle... to test the WSA I just downloaded the latest Insider Beta... The Device Manager detected everything, absolutely everything except the Multimode Halo Keyboard obviously...
Insider Beta ISO
Download Windows Insider Preview ISO

Just try with the insider Iso, but i always have the Same error....
Can't complete the installation....
The error is in the message... you are trying to install Win11 on a MBR Partition. Win11 needs an UEFI GPT Partition... Google for it on how to convert it. Microsoft has even an own tool for it https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt

I'm already on GPT Partition, but i'm not on UEFI, only on EFI... Can I make an update of this parameter ?
I made the bios update find on lenovo support site whitch is specified to be BIOS/UEFI
When i check thé TPM compatibility on the pc the statut is OK and version is 2.0....
When i' m on bios i can't enable secure boot statut...
I have no idea. It worked perfectly from scratch on my Yogabook. I assume you updated the Bios from here

Did you try to start in safe mode and run "mdsched.exe" ? (Usually pressing F8 right after the lenovo bios logo appears, but you will probably need and external usb keyboard for this)
@jamespmi
Thanks for your time and your help.
For the BIOS update Yes it directly come from the lenovo site (the only update aviable so i can't make mistake).
I just try to make a full run of mdsched.exe in safe mode (really hard to keep a usb keyboard cause my 2 wireless keyboard wasn't reconnised in safe mode) and no error after the check...
I really don't understand what can block the W11 update on my yogabook.
Also try to install with desableing all non essentiel app and service at startup..... No more result.....
The only option i do not try is to make the update in safe mode (don't know if it's possible...)
Hey,
typing this from my W11 yoga book... i used the reg tweak as described in this article and just started upgrading by opening the ISO in W10 https://pureinfotech.com/install-windows-11-unsupported-pc/
Needed to install some drivers again, but overall it works okay. Just disable all animations. Because our old tablet just can't handle those any more.
is there any benefit in using vw11 instead of w10 in performance terms? I would go for w11 but only performance driven as WSL is running fine ;-)

It really depends on the flavour of windows 11 you install. But I would say yo
