$35 is $35. But that doesn't seem so interesting. I understand it doesn't need a computer since it's a computer itself. But why not just get a flashable boot drive?
Same thing as Cotton Candy I feel. This is just more cost effective.

In this instance, you could carry it as a HTPC. It has HDMI, micro USB charging; make a simple case and hide it on the back of my TV.

Indeed that was what I was about to do with it, it can be so useful.
I also read that it smoked the 4S by a factor of 2 when comparing their GPU capabilities.

Check out raspberrymod.com, hope we can gather good content to push this uberdevice

That is the point of Raspberry Pi. Cotton Candy is $199. If you can get the price point to $35 then every one can have a box to hack and experiment with. They can be handed out with school supplies and textbooks.

Element14 called to say the second batch of Raspberry PI is still one per person and should be available in May.

supah hd angry birds anyone? lol
also 1920x1080 splash screens and boot animations... those 2 things would take up like a gig.5 all on their own lol

I heard it was some bull**** to do with CE certification. They will ship as soon as thats taken care of, in the same order as the orders recieved. I just dont see how they make money at 35$ a board though...

There is a way to watch NetFlix on your androids. I'm using PlayOn and watching all my media sources on my Galaxy Tab. I did upgrade to Flash 10.2, don't know if it works on 10.1 Here's a link to the Flash update
PlayOn is available in the market for free 2 week trial, then 5 bucks a month. I'm watching my NetFlix on Evo4G as well.
Pro's: It works
Con's:
1. Buffers occasionally, but I have a slow connection. I would expect it to run without buffering timeouts on cable. Will test at a friends house this week and report back.
2. Have to download the server to a PC and thus the PC has to be running for it to work. Not convenient right now as I downloaded it to my laptop, but I plan to serve it from my home entertainment PC which can remain on round the clock.
3. Costs $5......I like free, LOL
It doesn't work on any phone yet, and there's a good chance it never will. It likely needs a hardware DRM verification before it will stream. Unless someone can hack that restriction out of it, which I assume would be quite difficult, then it will never work until they release an official version.
F play on. **** is annoying. id rather wait for the organic version. awww yayuhh
Just buy an ipad its cheaper and doesn't need to be ripped, torn, or anything else to play netflix.
It also has poor cameras, less RAM, less customization, will never allow Flash, and so on. Hardly a good trade off when a Netflix app will be out soon.

Yeah, I agree that there is no need to mail or update since it can't use LTE nor an SD card. Faster processor is just down right not true since they come stock at roughly the same speed and performance benchmarks, but the xoom can be overclocked to be 50% faster. Flash rocks on my phone and tablet so I don't know what your experience was. Android apps are cheaper and can do more. As for gpu, it will likely change with a software update but if not I prefer consoles or a PC for true 3D games.
Why is a crapple fanboy hanging around the xda xoom forums threadcrapping anyhow?
Edit:
Wow the majority of your posts here are all super-pro ipad with nothing good to say about the xoom. You had a xoom and you returned it. If you don't like it that's fine, but why stick around here? Trying to convince yourself you made a good decision? Give it a rest...

all I can say, is that apple did its great innovation, that was the original iphone.
whats new now, Faster does not mean inovation, a huge iphone is NOT inovation. and lets face it. the the 1g iphone and the 4g iphone is pretty much the same. yes, faster, a few new features, but not really anything new.

Exact copy of the GSM Nexus S except for the CDMA/EVDO/WIMAX
Fromg the google blog:
It features a 4” Contour Display designed to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and along the side of your face. It also features a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, front and rear facing cameras, 16GB of internal memory, and NFC (near field communication) hardware that lets you read information from everyday objects that have NFC tags.
In addition, today we’re excited to announce that Sprint customers will soon be able to take advantage of the full set of Google Voice features without changing or porting their number.

Because its a Google supported phone / Google dev phone. All software comes 100% from Google directly. Samsung doesn't touch the software. It will get almost all future updates until the hardware cant handle the software. The Nexus One, which is pretty damn old now, just recently got official Gingerbread, and will likely get Ice Cream.
Yea but what he meant is...
Thanks to the hardware similarities we wont be far behind them in updates so why pay all that money for basically the same phone w/o a keyboard when all these Beastly phones are about to be released it would be a waste to get hardware that is outdated by the time its even for sale 8)
I personally hate physical keyboards now. Mine is just wasted, unused bulk.
True Google software is worth it for me. Dual core CPU's aren't even close to being utilized in smartphones yet anyway. Not until apps/software are written to support them.
The Hummingbird can still hold its own.

Personally speaking, the current Xoom functions as a laptop replacement and more but it all depends on what you expect to do with it. You've heard from at least one person who disagrees with me, but many more would agree. It's an amazing piece of hardware and will only become more functional as more apps and customizations are created for it.
But do as you like.

Couldn't agree more. I have the latest Team Tiamat Moray ROM on here with Bazar617's StockRed UI, and with the current crop of apps, I believe I am getting value far beyond my original expectations. The development community that is behind the Xoom is going to make this worthwhile for a long time.

It's unrealistic to expect any tablet to suitably be your only computer. I have my high-powered desktop to do all that downloading, ripping, file conversion, storage for streaming, and for adb, etc...My Xoom goes everywhere with me, something I wouldn't do with a laptop. My desktop and Xoom make a perfect team and I'm mobile as can be.

not yet, see what the Xoom2 or Xformer 2 has to offer. The browser still is garbage and it will annoy you if you want to surf with browser. the HDMI sound is in mono which is also terrible if you want to hook it up to your flat screen. I love mine to death but will be getting rid of it once either a new one with better browser and audio comes out or another table is comparable..
I hope ICS resolves some of the annoyances.

[Q] LG optimus g vs Nexus 4! or nvidia sheild 0_0

hi i didnt find answer in forums sorry
optimus g or nexus 4 or project sheild?
everything was fine i were goign to buy the nexus ...
but i saw this it also has mroe storage shoudl i get nexus 4 or...?
i care so much about screen and do gaming (no prob whit buttons)
i dont have song and take my pics to cloud i maybe have videos in my device (at msot only 1 1080p other 320p or..
ofc i will have n.o.v.a and others....!
and i'm becoming an andorid developer ! \cheer!/ (im only 13years btw!)
or maybe project sheild? i think its only good for gaming!
if u can tell me which phone is better for what usage!
or if wroth pay 2399$ for s4 n4 is 1614 and optimus g is 1700$ not much diffrent from n4 and OG
No point comparing the Shield to any phone... the Shield is just a gaming device that happens to run Android.
In fact, you can simply plug an Xbox 360 controller into an Android phone or tablet, provided the phone/tablet supports USB-on-the-go, and you pretty much have the Shield already. If the phone/tablet doesn't support USB-on-the-go, a PS3 controller connected via Bluetooth works too.
I would recommend the Nexus 4 over the Optimus G if price is a concern. But if money is no object, then get neither - go for a HTC One!
Btw, are those prices in USD? The black market must be really prospering in the face of those sanctions O_O.
