hey guy new here, i had a couple questions for you guys, i am curently with boost mobile with a flashed evo 4g, but im switching over to stright talk with a skyrocket. how would i go about canceling my boost account and selling the evo 4g that was already flashed to boost. Im going to have my current number ported to straight talk. i someone purchase it , what do they have to do
thanks again
pete
can anyone help me out, im also porting my old number to the new service
Just went through this ordeal with my dad and a EVO3D on boost. by porting your number over it will automatically cancel your Boost account. When you sell the phone the person you are selling it to will need a CDMA Boost phone or need the ESN that was flashed to the EVO to get it to work on Boost otherwise if you try to use the ESN on the EVO sticker they will not activate it.
So pretty much they will have to have it reflashed to there boost mobile account?
You should supply the donor phone with it.
I sent the phone out to get flashed , but if they have it reflashed, they will use a different donor phone, right?
Dial ##786# on evo and write down ESN or MEID. That is what the buyer need to activate the phone.
im porting the number to the new service , would that make it a bad esn, cant i just tell them it has to be reflashed to there boost mobile account

Hi everyone, I've read up on how to flash to cricket or metro but I'm just wondering which would be better? And I currently have no service with either of them, I got this Droid x off a lady on craigslist just to use as a gaming device but now know it can still be used as a phone!
Do I need an Android metro or cricket phone first? Or can I just pay the money and get a number then follow the steps to flash? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Forgot to add that the esn is bad on vzw. Only paid 60 bucks

Not sure about Metro, but Cricket doesn't care about bad ESN. I never had a Cricket account until I set one up last year for a Droid X I got through Craigslist. You shouldn't need a Cricket phone first.
My phone shows up as "CPE- Smartphone- Android OS" and I'm on the "ADR Smartphone All In $55" plan. Everything works great - voice, txt, data, mms, navigation, etc. I also flashed a Craigslist-acquired Droid 2 for my wife and everything is working for her as well.
If you need help getting your account/phone setup right check with chrisngrod over at http://www.cricketusers.com/forum.php.

Dkranes do you think its possible to get a droid bionic on cricket? Would it be similar to what you did to your phone? I assume you used cdma workshop?

I honestly have no idea, the only phones I've flashed to Cricket are the BlackBerry Pearl, BlackBerry 8830, Droid X and Droid 2. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but as far as how to do it I'm not sure.
Yeah, I used CDMA Workshop and originally I also had to use QPST. But I came across a shortcut the other day. Basically you do all the CDMA Workshop steps of the flash (including nvitems, prl, entering your MIN/MDN, etc), then after reboot do a *228. The *228 step saves you from having to do any of the QPST stuff. Here's a link, but the guy says all he did was put the PRL in with CDMA Workshop. I tried that and it didn't work for me until I did ALL the CDMA Workshop steps of the Cricket flash. To get MMS working you'll still have to setup your APN and go into ##PROGRAM to change the MMS settings. http://www.cricketusers.com/verizon...mms-no-root-needed-55-plan.html#axzz1b4mAUWbu
Hi guys, I have a question, I found a Droid 2 Global with bad esn cricket metro pcs for a very cheap price, the thing is I want to buy it and use it in my country Chile, with GSM networks.
I want to know if i can use the mobile without problems even with the bad esn or I have to reset ESN to make it work with GSM network either?

I know with cdma workshop you can actually change esn. You'll need a donor phone and one that has similar features. Don't ask me how, I've done it once using a guide on a optimus s from sprint to boost.
I was under the impression that cricket took bad esns.

Ya you can flash any verizon or sprint phone to cricket...I am using a droid 2 on cricket right now.
i tried searching but couldnt find the answer i was looking for. im currently using a htc tp2 on the boost plan. im in need of a upgrade as this phone has too many glitchs/ defects. im considering a samsung epic but what im wondering is if i can simply have boost activate the phone to my account or would i need to flash the phone?
also... i never had to touch the tp2 to get it on boost, i paid a programmer and he simply switch the esn over the phone.
I'm trying to activate my old Droid Incredible on PagePlus, but it keeps coming up with a Bad ESN. I know for a fact the phone has a good ESN and isn't reported stolen or missing, I bought it AND payed the bills...so WTF VZW? Can anyone help?
I know this is a stupid question but did you unlock it first?
don't know if it even needs to be, just thought I'd ask.

It doesn't need to be unlocked on the Pageplus Network, it piggybacks on the VZW network. That's why it wont activate cause every time they try the VZW network keeps returning back a Bad ESN, when its not...I called them and they were clueless to what I was talking about.

You need to contact VZW and have them release the esn number. Also when I activated three incs on pageplus I used the meid # not esn
Hope this helps
I have a Inc on pageplus, as the guy above me said. Make verizon has 'let' go of the esn, even if you've upgraded or left after finishing your contract they still keep your esm sometimes.
If it comes to it, you can buy a cheap phone and activate it. Call pageplus and tell them you got a new phone, and need. To change esns.

Hi, i'm buying a Samsung galaxy s3, and i worry about bad ESN phone that i can't use on my tmobile account.
For that reason, i think i will pay for a s3 ATT ( if ATT s3 is a bad ESN phone than i still can unlock and use it with my tmobile account, right? )
But i hear someone said that if i use a unlock ATT phone then tmobile data plan won't work on that att phone. I don't know if this is correct information or not.
Can someone help me out?:crying::crying:
Thank you very much.
Also Is there anyone to avoid bad esn phone on craiglists?
Furthermore, is there anyone to buy a bad ESN Tmobile phone, and somehow i can use it with tmobile ?

well you're in the wrong section. you want to go to the s3 section for this.
but to my knowledge. at&t s3 is not compatible with tmobile's 4g. you'll get EDGE speed. but once tmobile has their LTE towers up and running it should work.... NEXT year lol
no you can't used a t-mobile blacklisted phone back on t-mobile.

First of all GSM networks (T-Mobile, AT&T) do not use ESN. Only CDMA networks (like Verizon, Sprint) use it. T-Mobile and AT&T use IMEI numbers.
Second of all, unless you live in an area that T-Mobile has begun to refarm their 1900 mHz band to HSPA+ you will only getEDGE speeds onT-Mobile with an AT&T phone.
If you are so worried about buying a T-Mobile phone with a blocked IMEI number, why not either wait until you have enough money to purchase it directly from T-Mobile or meet the person you're buying from at a T-Mobile store and have the IMEI checked before you buy?

I am current Verizon subscriber and am thinking of switching to Straight Talk depending on how good the AT&T service is. I would like to get a Nexus 4. If I get a AT&T SIM for a Nexus 4, can I get a new phone number to test the service out? If it works well, I would then want to port my Verizon number over to Straight Talk. i don't want to just port my VZW over immediately in case I can't get service where I need it. Thanks!

Once the ST number is activated, they will not be able to port the number. They will need to send you a new sim. That's how I did it.

Ah! I was just going to order the phone, then I noticed that Straight Talk no longer offers AT&T SIM cards, only T Mobile! I will have to find one somewhere else. Any ideas where to find one?

I switched over to T-Mobile and got a new number when I did so. After about a week or so of good coverage I ported in my old number. No need to get a new sim card, just called customer service and I had my old number less than 24 hours later. Did the same thing with my wife's N4. So yes, you can do what you are trying to do, at least with T-Mobile anyway.

I did that a couple of months ago. ST had some refurbished flip phones free when you buy a card. We just spent $30 to buy a month then rode around testing signal strength. This doesn't help with data speed tests, but odds are, if you get a strong signal you should get decent data. Once you're happy you can order your sim for the N4 and port your number to it.
Option 2, jif you already have your N4 you could just order 2 sims. Activate 1 without porting, then if you're happy, chuck that sim & activate/port to the 2nd.
