I am using the CoreDroid ROM and one of the marketing features that attracted me to this ROM was the custom background on the weather lockscreen. I HATE the default HTC wallpaper. Ick.
Does anyone know how to change this? I see instructions on how to do this for Sense 3.0. What about 3.5? There are similar questions in the Desire and Sensation forums. But no one has answered it there.
So, I'll give this a whirl in the HD2 forum. See if we are still ahead of everyone else.

apart the Desire Modaco ROM can we add the fabulous HTC weather?
Cyanogen ROM can be cooked with SENSE or HTC Weather??
Short answer is no. Beautiful Widgets is the closest thing.
After trying a ton of free weather apps and widgets, I must say Weather Bug Elite is the way to go. It was like two bucks iirc.
+1 for Weather Bug Elite!
i posted a question about this in the Q&A section and nobody really answered so i'm assuming this hasn't been developed yet.
using the desire hd build i loved the animation for the flip clock upon unlocking my hd2. since most of the desire hd builds have been somewhat abandoned and are still somewhat buggy i switched back to a regular sense build.
i noticed devs for other devices have ported the animated flip clock to work on other roms that already included sense. this may not even be possible on the hd2 since the necessary changes were applied through an update.zip file flashed through a custom recovery image.
i'm sure there would be a lot of interest out there if anyone was to create such a great feature. i know it might not be possible but has anyone given it a shot yet? if so, some of us would love to hear about it! thanks!

someone made one awhile ago, it was too laggy to use, as it was an app by itself. not tied in with the specific sense build.
also, please do not post new threads in development. unless you plan to develop this yourself.
my bad on the wrong section. i thought i noticed people posting development requests in the development section but i guess i was mistaken. apologies.
Mdeejay_FroYo_Z_v._1.3 or whatever version its on now had that annoying flip clock everytime you pull the phone out of standby if thats what your looking for. i personally hate that so i dont use it but yea

+1, god i hate that function.
'check the time, 6 am? sweet another hour of slee (clock flips)... motha ****a'
Yeah I noticed a lot of people don't like the flip clock. It's a love or hate, I'm in the percentage that love it. If you want it to be actually in the build it seems pretty difficult. The clock has to be active when flashing it. I've tried ADB installing it but doesn't work as it relies on the cache for something because from what I read, you have to trick the system into thinking it's the same clock as the original. Not to positive about it but you can read more about it in the desire section of EVO section. This post will tell you more about how weird of an installation it is. Too bad we don't have a recovery to flash things easily like this in.

Thanks for the heads up but the froyo_z build seems to have the same flaws as the desire hd builds.
It's def a love/hate relationship with the flip clock haha.

How to put a sense to a rom non sense ? can some one help me !
Thanks
Why would you wanna do that? they use different build frameworks so I doubt that is possible
Sorry, this has been address alot basically its not going to happen htc wrote sense very deeply into android (that's y it always takes them so long to update). Its a very complicated procedure that no dev has bothered with and sense is closed source.. Basically if its not a sense build it won't be.. Sorry

You will need to replace your Non-Sense build with a Sense build....
Or you will need to replace your non sense with some sense..lol

IF you just want the sence widget download fancy widget. it will give you that sence style clock and weather look.
I've been doing searches in all the Desire Z forums and I couldn't find anything about installing HTC sense and all its goodies on CM7. Is it possible? I just got my Desire Z today so I'm still making attempts at learning the ins and outs of android.
EDIT: doing some extra searching off XDA, it seems that because of HTC's extensive work on the rom itself, it will not work with CM. I guess I'll have to pick and choose... that would lead to me wondering what alternative can I get to get as much flexibility as CM and still have sense....

HTC Sense is closedsource while CyanogenMod is based on ASOP.

What parts of sense were you wanting. There lots of apps you can use that can give you a sense look. If you want sense style widgets download launcher pro plus. You can theme the dock bar to look like the sense dock.
Use beautiful widgets to get the sense clock and weather, including the weather animations when you unlock the phone.
Have a look in the general android themes section for a theme that has just been released for the built in CM7 theme chooser and it will make you notifaction bar look like sense.
Hope this helps

Ok, i'll look into all of that. I finally took the leap from my old touchpro to android, so im starting from scratch and back in square newbie.
The main thing that i wanted was the ability to link contacts to facebook as well a "favorites" that works like HTCs widgets. Im also still looking for a voice command app that does not access the internet so that it will work purely off my contact list. I loved the winmo voice command as to how it structured the responses and im looking for something like that
Launcher pro plus has the ense style widgets,.... and there is an app to run from pc that syncs contacts with facebook. Google "android facebook contact sync", if you dont have any luck finding it, drop me a pm, i'll have a butchers for you tonight or tomorrow when i can.

I'll check it out. Now I just have to find a way to transfer contacts and sms/mms from winmo to android
Heya, did a quick search on market and couldn't find the app to sync contacts with facebook...
Hey guys, young French junior member here hehe (not really sure of my english)
I recently bought a HTC Wildfire 2.2.1 with Sense (and Damn Hboot 1.01) and then I wanted to root it and overclock it= impossible without an xtc clip, great!
So this is my phone HTC Wildfire 2.2.1 with Sense, Froyo Hboot 1.01, Bouygues Telecom .
I comed here as i just wanted to change my home screen/theme (Sense->Stock Froyo), I saw a few videos and tutos which said to clear Htc Sense's defaults launch option, and then put on the Home button, but nothing happened and Sense still there (grrrr).
Finally I decided to download Home Switcher, and i saw that my wildfire didn't have any Home.apk expect for Sense Home...
I wondered how could i change this or where could i download the stock froyo home.apk, can you help me ?
Thx for reading
There are two things I can think of:
1: Install ADW Launcher from the Market. It looks pretty similar to the default Launcher on Android 2.2
2: The default Launcher for Froyo 2.2 can be found here in this thread at Post #10. But, this is for the Evo, and, I have no idea whether it will work on the Wildfire or not. Still, as it simply involves installing an apk, it should be worth a try:

HTC decided to eliminate the stock froyo home from WF.
Just install another launcher like LauncherPRO, GOLauncher, ADW, etc.
Hmm that's what I though... thanks for the instant answer ! Nevertheless the buzz is quite slow and I want the fastest one,are these launchers better than the sense one?

LauncherPro is MUCH better than stock launcher (not much much better than Sense is terms of smoothness, but much more useful yes).
I don't like ADW or any other because they aren't smooth. LauncherPro is.

Launcher PRO is smooth as butter compared to the Sense launcher.
