Me to, but not all taking phones on contract. Besides, price of the phone could be related to contact price as well. More expensive phone means more expensive contract?
Also, pricing might be lower, as this is announced by Sony. Shops could offer it by little lower price.

All look like they have brushed aluminium bodies, just that the others have coloured (black) anodizing, while the P has clear anodize.
If Xperia Ion is not releasing soon in Singapore then I will go with Xperia S.

And every thing else is half the spec or more also... so half price is for me to much...
I would buy a Xperia S if I wasn't 16 and had more money.
But I'll probably buy Xperia U, it's such a sexy phone, acceptable camera, still a dualcore, nice size (fits the pocket well), good screen/sound with bravia engine and xloud.
Only thing anoying me is the memory, no sdcard slot, and only 4gb, that's unnaceptable since my musics occupy more than that..
Just ordered Xperia S to be delivered on March 9
Any news about Xperia ION ???

Hello everybody!
I got a chance to play around with an Xperia Arc (preview version, NOT final) and I've created this short review and comparison of the new features.
thanks man
سلام=hi!
thanks... really good
Just counting the days before my Arc arrives.....
man can't wait any more
Why the hell would they switch the back and settings buttons?! That will be so annoying trying to get used to if you switch to the arc! Dumb move!!
How much does an unlocked arc cost? Btw guys I am a bit confused here. Should I go with the arc or with play?
Sent from my Xperia Arc using XDA Premium App
I think price will be variable as it is not release in all markets but for the question whether Play or Arc, it is totally up to you. If you want a gaming device, then play is the way to go if you want more stylish phone then Arc. There are Arc being sold on eBay for high six hundreds.
Yep you are right. Well I want a phone with very good multimedia capabilities along with dock support.

Posted a side-by-side of the camcorder/video recording.
As for the back button, I prefer it on the left. It points to the left. It should be on the left...
thx for the video ^^
what a nice teaser... hihihi
Arc seems to definitely have better colors and sharper edges for the objects, X10 looks bleaker and blurrier.
Hey, I am most likely getting an xperia ray on Wednesday. Is it the phone to get? Is it much better then the x10? It looks brilliant but I don't want to be conned from the good looks lol. Also, there is only one tiny section got the xperia ray on this forum, why is that? Is it because it is unpopular? Anyone else here for an xperia ray? Is it gold? Let me know thanks

Its in almost every case better than the x10.
only the letdown is, that it dosn't support Camera flash. Only Photolight like the X10.

Its the best budget phone its like arc mini
same res same processor same gpu
what if it have a small section its having official cm and that is a real custom rom
its 10 times better than x10
All phones around the same time have smaller sections. Check the arc, incredible s, etc.. sections to see what I mean.
The ray is a lot nicer than the arc imo.
The build quality looks a lot better too.

I just can't use phones with <4 inch screen. If you can, then that's the phone to get. It's beautiful.

Well, this technology is going to be used for many years by se. Android and small phones are these of the feature. But ofcourse there's always a bigger version out there..

I think the Xperia Ray is one the most beautiful phones out there. The price/quality of this phone is great.
Keep in mind what you are planning to use the phone for. Will you need a bigger screen? I would advice you to go to the store and try it out.
Hi Guys,
What will be your next choice of phone, is it Xperia S or Xperia ION or some OTHER phone.
Please VOTE & provide the reason for choosing S / ION / OTHER
to be honest design wise, the pure white arc S still looks better than any of those
but if i were to choose, i prefer the xperia ion
always been a fan of big screen phone's, and better design compared to xperia S
Others
The new Sony phones look worse than Arc, no sd slot and my Arc is just 6.5 months old.
Gonna buy a newer Sony phone or change brands (HTC or Samsung).

I might go for Xperia S when it comes to our country. I don't care how it looks like outside ... It's the hardware which I care the most
Sony Xperia™ ION
But only bad is that is for US market only, what i know
Other. Both look awefull, a little bit like the old X10 wich i hate. I Like the look of my Xperia Play very much, if they bring a second one with the specs of the Ion/S and real analogsticks and a good design i am definetly going to get it.
I'd also buy the Xperia Ion, but it's only for US market, so I'll buy the Xperia S.
I'm using SE for over 7 years now, nothing could change it in the future.

Xperia S, theres always something I liked about it when it first leaked out. Would never go for sumsung or htc worst phones ever tbh. They feal so rubish in the hand especially samsung.
Yes other manufacturers suck for me too especially in design and UI aesthetics.
Let's just keep fingers for NO collapses like Xperia X2 problems SE served to us.
I can say these are one of the few really interesting devices on the market.
Its still not in market, i hope Sony will release their phones before Barcelona event in Feb...samsung galaxy III is expected soon !!!

I'm gonna go for the white S (it looks freaking gorgeous), besides the ion is US-only...
obviously the Xperia S in pure white oO the hardware is impressive.. and the design doesn't suck that much imo. although it's not as precious as the arc..

Absolutely agree
GN Multimedia - Xperia Arc
Since I got my X10, the "Sony Ericsson Era" began for me
and even though I have come to realise that SE doesn't focus on hardware
but is more about the looks, I am OK with it because no matter which beast-hardwared phones I've held in my hands and played around with (HTC, Samsung), after all is said and done, I want to wake up next to a gorgeous device.
I think I'll go for the white Xperia S when I get bored of my Arc S.
I really liked Xperia S design, and I live in Brazil, so it's better for me.
Hey, well I've more or less broke the phone functionality on my Play (Bent pin inside sim tray) I really dont want to waste any more on repairing it... Anyways I've been looking at replacements and I'm stuck between the Xperia U and P. Right now I'm tipped more towards the P due to memory limitations on the U as I do tend to use quite a lot of storage space. I use a lot of apps, have a large music library etc. Also the P does have better specs but is it worth the price jump? Or do you think I should go with a different phone all together? Any ideas? Thanks
i think u should get another xperia play.
Xperia U Unlocked and brand new costs around $240, so that is a definite good deal to me.
The major bottleneck though is the internal memory of puny 4GB without SD Card slot.
If you keep lots of music and lots videos/games then this is not an option.
If you are ok with not so famous brand, then ZTE has viable options but not that I recommend it.

Maddy
i have bought the P why?
larger screen
whitemagic screen (really great)
more ram (more update proof)
more flash
Xperia P is very nice in every single detail but it's very expensive for it's features. You should get a galaxy nexus, that's what I would get
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
i wanted to buy the galaxy nexus.
i tried both (in the shop) and the xperia P is faster!
ok updates will take longer, but if development really starts it is a really great and fast phone.
screen is better the the galaxy nexus
faster
better camera

I'm getting an Xperia S down to the fact that it has 32GB internal storage compared to Xperia P's 16GB, I think now is the time that most of us Xperia 2011 users are considering a new device, I've had this device for a year tomorrow
I would get the Xperia P if it had at least expandable memory, Love the Xperia P aluminium case
Anyway I'm keeping my Xperia Play for gaming.
@OP: Get an Xperia P, More sexiii!!!!! No really it feels REALLY nice in the hand.
Xperia P really is sexy, it's certainly better than U so, here's your answer. But you didn't try GNexus with Jellybean did you? If you did Xperia P would't be certainly the fastest
i am sure when the P gets cm10 (very soon) it will be faster then gnexus and when the official jb comes (end of this year) it will still be faster
Thanks guys, I've tried the Gnexus and I don't think it's as smooth as the P. I think I'll go with the P for more or less the same reasons nick stated, I'm still keeping my play though
I'm thinking of getting an Xperia S in november because Devs have touchpads working on Xperia Ray, etc ports.
Anyway as I said get an Xperia P!
Nice, in fact I just ordered the S. I seen a really good deal that was to good to pass over so I went for it, can't wait
none of them , if you are gamer , if you aren't , then hyabusa or galaxsy s3 or HTC one X

If you can live with touchscreen controls for games, I would personally go for the HTC One X.
I wouldn't touch another Sony handset because of their poor record with software updates, they also tend to be overpriced and underspecced.
Then dont go for htc
Their update support is even worse (look at dhd and some other phones)

Go for the HTC Sensation, it has a great developer community and in my opinion better specifications than the U or P.
Well many OEMs are going to release ( or refresh) new phones this summer and fall and the smartphone world moves super fast. Apple is going to release the 5s, HTC the HTC One max and HTC One mini ( rumor), Samsung the Galaxy Note 3, a new Nexus will be out and LG will probably release their LG optimus G 2. The Xperia Z is a nice phone but id love to see a refresh and not wait until next year for the successor of the XZ. What i'd like to see is:
- Same body, same waterproof
- Better speakers and better placement
- Better placement of the volume rocker
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC
- Better display ( with better viewing angles, perhaps an ips)
- 2500 mah battery
I believe if Sony releases something like this it would turn a lot of heads. The Xperia Z is a nice phone but lacks certain things that can really put it in the fore front of the smartphone world. What do you guys think?

There's no word on Honami's IP rating. It doesn't have flaps on the audio jack so it may not be water or dustproof.

How would it be water resistant without the flap then? Wouldn't that cause problems since the parts of the motherboard would be directly exposed to water/dust?

It is a flagship phone to say, and they may have been first by a few months, but that meant using a lesser processor to compete with. If they could stay ahead of the others while using the latest tech, it would be a great move. Seems like that is what they are trying to do now with the honami and togari.
on a side note, seems the camera race is getting big again in phones. That's a good thing, I would like to see our phones with larger sensors.
Hmmm... Isn't the ZR sort of like a refresh already?
