So recently I sideloaded Gameboid to my Kindle from the SlideMe marketplace. I then noticed that the Kindle started acting weird. It then later reset on me. So I reset it to its factory settings and Sideloaded Gameboid again. Then later while downloading some songs from the cloud I noticed that they kept failing and saying I was not connected to a network (which I was) so I rebooted and tried to redownload.
It completed the download but when I went to the music tab. It had only downloaded 1 song, which I thought was weird because it said it was downloading all the songs. I thought that maybe the gameboid app had installed a virus so I quickly did a factory reset my device. After the Kindle rebooted. I tried to redownload the album I was downloading again, without downloading any apps from the amazon appstore. And it worked. So I think it was Gameboid but the app had positive reviews, not only in the comments from the Slideme website, but also on other websites on the Internet.
Has anybody ever had problems with the App?

I just got a new Android TV/Nexus Player device. And was able to find other media apps either installed as soon as I set things up or via going to the Google Play Store app in the Android TV device. But I have not been able to find Netflix. And when I go to Google Play using a PC web browser, the page for the Netflix app says that Netflix is not compatible with my "No carrier Asus Nexus Player".
Anyone know why? I've searched here and been unable to find an answer so far. I know there's the ability to side load apps. But being new to Nexus Player, I'd just like to get Netflix quickly installed via Play Store if possible.
Any help is appreciated.
Worked with Netflix support. Did a hard reset and entered my Google credentials manually. And Netflix is there now.
Just setup my Nexus Player... same issue. Netflix is MIA on the device and Google Play Store says Nexus Player isn't compatible.
Can you provide a bit more detail on the fix Netflix gave you? Hard reset what? The NP? Manually entered Google credentials? Where? TIA.

Reset to factory settings
After you reset to Factory settings, the first thing on screen will be a prompt for Language/Region. Be sure you pick the correct one for where you are, since Netflix won't work with some selections. I don't know which don't work. Mine is "English US". After that, you'll be asked to setup your Google account. Which you can do via web browser or entering your Google ID/password manually on the Nexus Player. I entered my manually on the Nexus Player.
I've attempted resets and manually entering passwords, disabling location, enabling location and still no luck.
This is a brand new out of the box Nexus Player yet I cannot access Netflix due to it thinking I'm "out of region" or something.
Just got mine today and same problem. What I did was go to settings>apps (under the device menu). Under system apps, find Google play store and click it. Click force stop and OK it. Clear cache, then clear data. Click open and Netflix should be there.
Same problem.
try update your Nexus player to lolipop 5.1.1 in Setting > apps > About
go on the google play website and find Netflix compatible with android tv
Same problem; updated to 5.1.1, factory reset, updated all apps, still no Netflix available on Google Play.
So I downloaded the APK found at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/help/netflix-apk-t3121671
and installed it. Worked perfectly.
It seems there are newer versions of the apk (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/) but I haven't tried it.
I don't have a micro USB adapter to use an external storage, so I placed the apk on a windows share in the network and pulled it with ES File Explorer on the Nexus Player.
You need to allow the installation of non-Play Store apps in Settings, Security.

Joao

Netflix will not show/install if it detects root
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Just grab the APK file somewhere legit. That's what I did when it didn't appear in the Play Store. Maybe you can even request it from them. I dunno.
Hi, After rooting the Nexus player and installing "Aptoide" to assist with sideloading apps, I came across with the Google Play Store app disappearing from the "Launcher" and reappearing in the installed "Sideload Launcher" except its not the "TV Play Store" what happened here? This has actually happened twice, after rooting... anyone had this problem? Thank-You

SOLVED! I deleted "Aptoide" from the player (settings/apps) and deleted the cache from the Google Play Store (again settings) restarted the player and the "Play Store for Android" returned to the launcher! I'll try other methods to install APK's.
I'm having issues with Google Play movies not being able to stream or play downloaded content. I've cleared the cache per the trouble shooting guide, uninstalled updates. Still not working. The error I get is "there was an error. If the problem persists, try restarting your phone".
Any thoughts? Very frustrating. Works fine on my Nexus 6p. If hate to call Google support. Could it have something with using 935f in the States, CSC?

Well, doing some experimenting it seems whenever I root my device it causes me to have issues with playing back movies through Google Play Movies. I'm not sure why but it does..

Sure, I remember this happened with samsung since I rooted my old S4 , play movies stopped working as it wouldn't stream anything.
Try deleting (with root browser or ES explorer) "liboemcrypto.so" file under /system/vendor/lib , reboot and should be working now.

Hey I wanted to let you know that after deleting that file and rebooting, my Google Play Movies and TV works flawlessly. No more lagging/stuttering/ and errors. I don't know what that file contained but since it's gone I'm not having any issues. Thank you
Hi Guys,
I'm running Fire OS 5.2.1.1 rooted. Facebook version 112.0.0.20.70, not sure about Instagram version, but the most recent one. Videos are not playing at all within the apps, I have tried uninstalling and clearing app data. I have installed from Google play and Amazon app store. I have tried restoring a version I backed up a week ago with Titanium backup. I had some Xsposed modules installed that show CPU in the status bar, but I have uninstalled then and all other apps I have recently installed. The thumbnails show of the videos but they do not play. I can use chrome and they play fine. I really don't want to factory reset. Any ideas?I
Thanks
Hi all
Have a rooted S8, everything is running fine apart from one little glitch... The Google Play Movies app won't allow me to view purchased films offline. I am able to stream, no problems, I can download the item but once downloaded, said film won't play. I receive an error message saying I need to restart device... Which doesn't work BTW!
So far I have cleared app cache, uninstalled app and reinstalled, updated app, tried the download on internal and external memory, no luck. I have tried all different movies. The app works fine on my tablet. So it's device specific. I have spoken to Google who have confirmed my account is clear and phone is connecting on OK.
Has anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions... It's very frustrating.. I can only think the rooted handset is causing a glitch?
Thank you in advance, Jackie
Have you tried using a different player? Or download it and move it in your google drive and use the drive's default video player?
Hi, thanks for your reply
I believe you can't use any other player... the format of the video, which is broken up into separate segmented files for this specific reason, is only playable via their (Google) own app.. And I'm not sure how you would download it to Google Drive...
Would love to know if anyone else has experienced this issue...
