[SBF] Fix Your Bricked .621! - Droid X General

This file can be used to return your device that was bricked by attempting to return to an earlier firmware version.
Flash this file using RSD Lite as you would any other SBF file.

edit: I successfully flashed this SBF to my DX to test my new Linux VM based Android dev environment. I then verified by flashing it again using RSD Lite on windows.

[Q] SBF Flash in RSB lite 4.7

i have a droid x that cannot receive the the new 2.3.340 update. i guess some bloatware has been deleted and then reinstalled via apk's. after installing the bloatware it still wont install so now i wanna try restoring the phone back to 2.1. is there anything special i need to know about doing this? anyone have links to help me out? i have been researching this for most of the day but havent had any luck. the link i have downloaded, contains RSD lite 4.7 w the patch, motorola drivers and SBF 2.1 dx patch. idk if having the leaked version of 2.2 vs an ota version of 2.2 will make a difference thanks, Adam
Use rsd 4.8 and you can just flash the 2.3.320 full sbf then the 2.3.340 system only sbf and you will be on the most recent verzion. There are detailed tutorials somewhere on here to do this.

Yes, if you are at the screen you see, you can sbf (system boot file)to factory original software.
There are is a Windows way and an Ubuntu way to sbf. I prefer the Ubuntu way personally, and I have never used any Linux b4 that.
Search these forums 'SBF Droid X'
I have also found some independant electronic stores willing to do the process.

i have droid x on ntelos i rooted but didnt change bootstrap flashed a rom and ofcourse bootlooped so i flashed sbf VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf and now it comes up as verizon any ideas how to get back to ntelos..i have searched xda droidlife google and i cant find any kind of answer..the phone was purchased thru ntleos
Personally, I have royally screwed up my Droid X in the past. At one point, RSD Lite could not bring my phone back to life. However, Ubuntu saved my buttocks. Highly recommend using Ubuntu if you need to SBF your phone. Just speaking from experience.

[Q] Flashing steps question.

I have rooted the Droid X, got bootstrapper running and can get to CWM. I want to flash [ROM] Steel Droid X: 3.0 : Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, but that OP mentions
"I used the following SBF before flashing my ROM. This is the same SBF I have been using for the longest time. Actual link to the SBF will NOT be posted, per forum rules. VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.zip - 255.7 MB"
What I want to know is if this step is required? From my research the SBF file is used to return the phone to stock state. Is that really a required step before flashing a custom rom?
Thanks for all the help, I'm a Galaxy S 4G guy trying to pimp my girlfriends phone out. So my apologies if this is a super simple question but all the reading I have done hasn't confirmed whether this is a required step in the process.
Since this rom uses the Froyo kernel, you do have to follow the step and SBF.
Due to our locked bootloader we can't flash from kernel to kernel via ClockworkMod Recovery, so we use the SBF files.

[Q] .621 Flash other Roms?

I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been asked, please point me in the right direction if it has.
I am just about to do the Linux SBF and the zergrushv4, but it says you cant go back to .602 or anything else. I really want to SBF to the stock original version that came on my phone (was 100% bug free, just before gingerbread).
Can this be done?
If you install flash .621, you can't go back to any stock version before .621.

droid x 2.3.4 root

hello i have a droid x and i currently want to root it but cant ive tried motorola one click root with no success plzzzzzz help
Rooting .621 is a bit tricky. You have to use the Linux method to SBF with a .604 SBF file that is rootable.
Google for '1kds live CD' and find the one for .604. From there it's easy, you just have to burn the ISO file to a CD and boot from it.
