At the top of the screen where the notification bar is there is a streak of light blue when I am on a white background. Colours don't look as good anymore either. White doesn't even look solid white anymore. Has anyone else had these problems?
I think the notification bar has burned into the screen. I used the *#0*# test and on the blue background I could clearly see the outline of the notification bar at the top.

So it's definitely the notification bar that has burned in because it is always there and the icons on it are always there. Is there any way to give the notification bar when you are on apps to stop it from getting worse?

It's a known issue with this model/ amoled screen type. Get used to it.

hello
is there any way to hide the notifications bar on galaxy S i9000?
thanks
there are several apps in the market that can do that
but you will be in trouble without it
a lot of apps depends on the notification bar
if you don't have the bar, you will have no quick way to access those alerts
thanks
can you name me one app that do that?
i want to remove this while im driving with GPS to avoid the notofication bar will be stock like i had on my nexus one. this is really troble with amoled screens.
I use GDE as my Home replacement, It has an option for Fullscreen, which removes the notification bar

I do not know why you wanna hide it, but if you have launcher pro, there is an option to hide the notification bar.

Hi there...
This black notification bar somehow is ugly for this homescreen and this phone...isn't there any simple way to make it transparent or hide it without using third party application like launcher pro???
I don't think so.
Unfortunately you have to use a third party app to do this. That said, I'd love to see a mod to hide the clock, it bugs me to have one up there AND a clock widget.....
Back to topic: ADW has a hide option aswell....
I use ADWLaucher, I can hide/show the bar swiping the screen.
I use launcher pro to hide it with a swipe gesture on a dock icon to make it apear

I am getting 3 different icons in notification bar when receive a message, one is
green, another is plain white like enveople kind and third one is like the green one with smile face without green just that, on top of that getting 2 notification sounds which I can manage to turn off from sound properties but keeps coming back. Running froyo with nebula 1.06
I would like to have 1 notification icon if someone know how or suggestion please respond.

Are you using a custom launcher, or alternative messaging app?
ADW and reg built in messaging app comes with bubble style

Turn off the ADW notifications in the settings, and uninstall any notification apps you might have installed, like ADW unread count etc.
Yes that helped for one thanks I am still looking for another.

I am having issues with it trying to setup. It is not force closing but when I setup the button, when I tap it from the home screen, it goes into setting instead of just showing the apps I have assigned to it. Not sure what I am doing wrong or if it is a bug on Xoom.
Edit: The "Blur" option in advanced settings does not seem to work. Only shows black background and the circle centered in the screen is not really centered... it is too far to the bottom in landscape cutting off the bottom icons in the circle.
I did it looks great for me love it

Hi,
Is there an option or an app to show a notification when it arrives if you are in fullscreen app/game. I know you can access notification bar by swiping from the top of the screen but I would like that notification (or notification bar showing the notification) shows automatically for a few seconds and then hide, something like on the iPhone. I would really appreciate your help because it's a very important and useful feature to me.
Thanks!

Been using my replacement phone now for a few days. The thing which is annoying me the most is when I can certain Notifications through the icons are white squares and not the icons of the certain app. Does any one know how to fix this. Thank you.
