Really in need of help please

Hi all looking to find out a way to root and install a custom rom using just my phone as dnt have a pc at the momment any help is much apreciated

I'm pretty sure you cannot root without using a PC. Flashing ROM's is easy but you need to root first obviously..

Try z4root & you are rooted.

Cheers buddy could u point me to the apk and after im rooted can i just use rom manager

I stand corrected, z4root is available on the Market and will automatically root and install busybox. XDA link is here:

ClockworkMod ROM Manager is also available on the Market and you will be able to flash CWM Recovery from the app itself. After that you are set to go with flashing custom ROMs.

Seems it wont work due to having 2.2.1 firmware and something about the recovery not being 2e

Hi guys soft root worked fin in 2.1 but not in 2.2.
Any suggestions?

Also look into zroot 1.3.0

super one click is the only root that works on all versions of 2.2. theres no "soft root" (dunno why you would want it anyway) in super one click.

About rooting?

did you read the Forums?
there are (feels like) 1298734 posts about rooting 2.2
you can root 2.2 only with a xtc clip atm... there is no other way.

can you root 2.2.2?

i have a 2.2.2 aria and i was wondering if theres any way of downgrading it or rooting it?

That's not true, you can root 2.2.2... but as said earlier, use the search button.

You can but a xtc Clip is required, because alparevx haven't released a exploit for the new h-boot

You can't root with Unrevoked. You can root with XTC Clip or, once released, AlphaRevX.

Hey hi the simplest way is to use z4root application search it in play store
Its the simple way try it, it worked for me

z4root is easy and no danger for newbie
then for testing root, install superuser and try it to authorize access to root.

IMO best option is flash 2.1 with fastboot then flash cwm and soft with root
