Help - Droid X General

I ca t install the new update I download it and then it reboots and said install error
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

Rooted?
Using custom ROM?
Enough free space on sd card? (not sure if it matters)
Enough battery power?
Try cleaning Dalvik cache before updating.

Your lucky! I updated and now my X is screwed up.. Can't even use my 3500mha bat anymore

I'd recommend NOT taking this one.
You'll be out of the SBF loop...as SBFing back down bricks your device.
And I highly doubt developers are going to be moving forward onto the .621 base...so you'll be without custom roms.

Are you using or have used any custom scripts? I had to reverse supercharger before the update would install correctly.

[Q] I need help with trying to fix my droidX

Hello guys...
Okay so I came across a problem.I was on Liberty 2.0.1 room and for some reason I though it was be okay to just flash a gb rom I honestly forgot the name of the rom sorry </3..Anyways so i flashed it on top of liberty i did wipe and everything but when everything finished it stayed on boot screen....I let it sit there for a while but im guessing it doesn't take 2 hrs to boot....So im asking if theres any solutions for my problem ?
Sbf... Or maderstock from clockwork if you already have it on your sdcard
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
You might try flashing a backup from clockwork if you have one.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
You need to boot into recovery and try wiping data and cache again. if that doesn't work you will have to send back to stock. Guide can be films here

Well the thing is I can't boot into clockwork.Only recovery I can boot into is stock one..
You can wipe from stock recovery. If that doesn't work will have to flash sbf.

Help! Bricked girlfriends droid x

I knew this would happen eventually...
I flashed an update to go from liberty 2.0.1 to liberty gingerbread nightly... all was well until the reboot when it goes straight to bootloader. I can't get into stock recovery... do i have to Sbf?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
If you cant acces CWD and are stuck at the boot logo then yes. Did you try to do a battery pull?

If you are on GB the stock recovery button pattern is different. I had the same problem on my dx. You should Google it and try that. I don't remember the button pattern. Pm me if you need more help.

Flashing a new is sbf is very easy I just done mine yesterday ( bricked mine trying to change rom too.) Now I'm back up and running without an issue. Pm me for the link to the sbf if you still need it

your ol' lady's gonna be pissed.....
Ok..sbfd...was really easy compared to using nvflash on tegra2. The longest part of the whole thing was dling the sbf file over a ****ty mi-fi connection.
Z4 root, liberty toolbox nightly, bam - running liberty gb.
Not so bad... hopefully wont bar my gf from allowing me to **** around with her phone in the future.

SBF errors

Hi I have been trying to flash SBF for about 2 weeks now. Can someone please point me to the 1.5.7 sbf that they know works. I have tried about 4 different files. And it either goes straight to processing and finishes in about 2mins then gives error, the other file goes fine and takes about 35min to finish but then gives the error cannot flash file. Iam now rooted on 1.83 but cannot enable webtop hack and would like flash a clean build. Thanks.

Think you have to flash. 1.2.6 retail sbg we have here first, than update to 1.5.7. No sure if you can go back from 1.8.3 but I was reading that some people here did it without any issues

I got the .57 webtop hack to work on .83 after clearing my /data.
Not sure why this works (I had try to clear everything *dock* *portal* etc in /data already) but it did.

I am 100% sure this link works. Ive flashed it myself several times.
http://bandbinnovations.com/xda/OLYFR_U4_1.5.7_SIGNED_OLPSATTSPE_P012_HWolympus_1g_1FF.sbf.gz
Consider using RSDLite 5.0 and not any newer versions.

Hi guys little help

Hi my friend has the defy and has been sent a replacement by Tmobile as original was faulty. It has come back with 2.3.3 on it and its so much slower now. My question is will rooting it and instaling cm9 etc speed it up a lot?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Hey
If he wants a system that runs very stable and also smooth, he should give CM7 a try.
I wouldnt recommend CM9 since its death on the defy.
CM10 has come to a point where its very usable, ive been using it in the past weeks and i had not a single problem with it
Thanks for the reply dude. Iv rooted with super one click but everytime I try flash CWM I get stuck in boot loops any idea? I use RDS to go back to start again and keep trying but same old carry on
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Hope that you're wiping data, cache and dalvik cache after flashing via CWM.
I can't get cwm to install aha I'm going to try 2ndint apk
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yup. You need to install 2ndinit to get CWM onto a stock ROM.

Not sure what's wrong...

So today I decided to fire up my old continuum and it wouldn't boot. Naturally I went into cwm and tried to restore my old backup. Looks like it didn't want to after it said it was complete I rebooted system and the phone sits on the Samsung splash screen and vibrates.
I pulled the battery and then went back into cwm and wiped data, cache, and dalvik cache. Tried to boot again and it did the same thing.
So I just want to get the phone back up and running. I don't plan on activating it. I just need it to boot to run some apps daily.
I was thinking of ways to do this and I think if I flash the stock 2.2 rom in recovery it might work. Or should I Odin back?
I don't really remember how to use Odin since it's been so long. Nor do I have any of the files on my pc.
Any suggestions on what I should do to get it back up?
Thanks.

Honestly I would just go back in and use Odin. I have deleted most of my old files. but they should all still be on the forum. Some of the links may be broken. I can always check for you and repost files if links are broken and I have still have them. (I can't remember if I wiped that hard drive or not, the laptop was misbehaving and I think I did a clean install). I will try and check tonight. You might want to try reinstalling the base file in CWM depending on which version you are running, I have had some backups go corrupt if I changed the wrong thing...

Most links are broken however I was able to pull an image from my brothers stock continuum he didn't use root it and get my phone to boot, so I'm good now. I'm on 2.1 but that's all I need to run my app so I'm good. Thanks for your insight.

WOW...Surprised to see some activity on this forum!! It's been a long time! I still mess with the old Continuum once in a while just to try stuff out. I have the EG04 files still if you need them. Still have some of TB101's mods too.
Nah I'm just running 2.1 I found some files and got it back. I'm not using it as a phone just a money making machine. Thanks though. I moved on to the droid dna like 8 months ago.

Yeah, I went with the S3. My son uses the continuum as a wifi only device. I still jump on it once in awhile just to play around.

Just stock, rooted. I actually use some of the TW features like multi Window. 4.3 should be rolling out to us soon, so I'm check it out and then decide if I want to go with a custom rom.
