Optical stick going haywire - Droid Incredible General

So my optical stick is scrolling uncontrollably. Its scrolls through my apps, it scrolls through cwm it scrolls on it own in everything. I've tried diff roms, reboots, pull battery etc no solutions so far.
Halp!

Maybe fixed now
So I scrubbed my greasy salty fat finger prints off with some alcohol and a cotton swab... seems to work correctly now.

sticky screen

The screen doesn't feel smooth when dragging items. I have tried cleaning the screen but hasn't helped. Looks like I will need to get a screen protector. I have a white unlocked hero
I get that too sometimes...i find that it wont be as evident if you dont press as hard.
Also think its due to being how sweaty your point of contact is...
Agreed on the sweaty thing.
the longer i use the screen, the stickier it gets. especially noticeable when i am playing air hockey!
wipe teh screen and my thumb off and all is well again.

Ghost screen touches

Just got myself a transformer today and it seemed great, however right after about 5 minutes the thing goes nuts like someone is swiping or touching the screen. Mostly just one spot on the left side and it will do it whether I'm holding it or it's sitting by itself. Can't seem to find anything posted about this wondering if thats because it's not common or I'm just not looking for the right stuff? Any help would be great, will likely return it tomorrow anyhow but if there's a fix would be nice.
Yeah, I got this as well while playing Angry Birds (F'd up my scores ! ). I don't know if it will work for you, but I just cleaned the screen really well with a cotton ball and alcohol, dried it, then used a microfiber cloth to clean it up (the ones that come with glasses, screen protectors). It worked for me, i think there was some gunk on the screen and was registering as a touch..
Try a factory reset and if it doesn't work take it back for a new one.
Thanks I can't see it being something on screen but will give it a wipe done here in a minute. Also tried the factory reset seemed to help but still getting in same frequency just not as badly. will see if the cleaning doesn't work I'll take it back and replace it.
This is the biggest annoyance that I have as of recent.
I have particularly oily fingerprints which causes smudges constantly.
I love the sensitivity of the TF, but if there is excessive smudging, the residue will register as a screen input - Wish the sensitivity could be adjusted.
Weird things happen when I need to clean the screen... I.E. I will be using a browser and use a single touch to scroll down, but it will zoom in/out instead; the long press menu will show up in a random spot persistently; -or- the screen will be completely unresponsive.
When this happens - I turn of the screen, clean it, turn the screen back on, and I'm good to go (note: sometimes I cannot even see any smudges where I am having issues).
This happens to me FREQUENTLY when i use the tab outside during humid days. I am thinking a screen protector may help, but still havent gotten one to try it out.
I had this same problem before the touch screen completely stopped responding on me.
For mine it only happened after waking it up from sleep mode though. When I turned Timeout to Never the ghost touching stopped.
Well tried as suggested the cleaning of the screen and all that but it still did it so took it back to the store got lucky and they still had one left, and exchanged it. New one hasn't had any issues at all. Thanks all.
I just took mine out of the box for fun (it was packed up for rma) and when i turned it on the touch screen worked. The ghost touching stopped to. But i still have a strip from top to bottom on the right side of the screen that registers two touches . So ill probably still send it in for a replacement.

Trackpad issues

hey all
Just got second hand dock and i'm having problems with trackpad. When i'm moving cursor it looks like i clicked few times....its actually not sable, because it always clicks when im just moving it. I also noticed that if i just hold my finger on touchpad, not moving it...cursor is moving up and down few milimeters.
could be some software issue or is this faulty hardware.
tnx
Might want to try wiping off the trackpad with a warm damp cloth might be residue on the pad. Otherwise it could be water damage or something

Screen toast after only 2 years?

So my Simple Touch Reader is about 2 years old and I'm pretty sure the screen is already toast (or almost toast) . I have to swipe tons of times to unlock it, and when I actually can unlock it, swipe to turn page almost never works...I have to use the buttons. It's like my Nook's screen has lost all sensitivity.
After only 2 years it's pretty disappointing.
Any ideas on what might be the problem...and how to fix it?
Thanks.
Clean the screen.
The IR sensors are sensitive to any crud that may have collected.
Use a lightly damp Q-Tip to clean the inside of the bezel.
It would be interesting if I could see that Nook now.
When there is no finger on the screen only a single IR LED pulses in a slow fashion.
Once a finger hits the screen, this low power mode detects it and switches
to the full left side and bottom side IR LED scanning mode.
Using my IR detector diode method you can hear exactly what is going on.

I'll try giving it a good cleaning. I can't remember the last time I wiped it down...

Spen tip gets stuck any advice?

So my spen tip keeps getting stuck inside the pen. Into and always clicked position.
So if in scrolling a page when I take the pen off of the screen to go to top top and continue to scroll down, or vice a versa, when I lift the pen, the device still thinks I still have the pen on the screen.
This is infuriating, because I use the pen for everything, from swiping to note taking etc.
The only temp fix I've found to this is to stick on the tip and it works for s few hours.
(For those that don't believe the tip has any sort of movement, hold your pen close to the screen so you see the dot, than use your finger to press then pen. It will act like it's on the screen.)
