I have a go locker lock theme set up when I slide the sms lock it displays a message saying that both textplus and the phones messages can be displayed but it doesn't actually open textplus, since its a kindle fire there obviously is no phone inbox, I'm wondering if there's a way to make it actually open text plus when you slide the lock, thanks to anyone who tries to help.
Try to install the application and data from your phone to KF using Titanium backup

i receive a message & shows on the widget 1. after reading & deleting & delete in the drop down the 1 stays saying i still have a message ?
i installed delete old messages app & even going in there tap on 1 day it still says on my message widget 1 ?
if i drop the message widget in the bin then put it back on the screen it clears.
Personally, I'd recommend using Handcent SMS, rather than the HTC Messaging app. It's got a lot more features and the widget works properly.

Click to collapse
yes that's what i'm using now.
Im having a problem where i get a message - and i read it - and then when i come out of it it says 1 message unread, so i go back into handcent or HTC messages and find i have 2 copies of the same message, but it is only with message from t-mobile or my work that are duplicated.
i am using the villian3.4 rom, and never had a problem on the original HTC Rom
Is there any way to hide the display of the latest sms message on the lock screen? Please help! Thanks.
If anyone has any clue it'd be greatly appreciated...I live with my ex if that keys you guys into why I need it lol
What about turning a lock screen pattern on or download sms popup and turn on the privacy setting. See what that does.
I would like to know this, it's very important for my privacy.
help would be great ly appreciated.
I believe you can do that with Chomp SMS.

Get handcent sms from the market it's free, and disable your normal sms app notification. In handcent you can customise just about everything, including pop ups etc.
agreed. handcent has the option to have the popup on the lock screen or below the lock screen
I use to use 'SMS Popup' to have a popup box for txt messages where I could quick reply or dismiss messages. With all 2.2 roms it seems that this programs 'close' button no longer marks messages as read. Anyone have a favorite SMS addon that has a popup box with quick reply and dismiss kind of features?
I don't like Chomp or Handcent. I'd prefer something that doesn't take over the native messaging app but is just the pop up stuff.
Anyone use one successfully with our beloved Epics?
the close button marks read for me
Try "SMS Notifier".

somewhat related, if you use launcher pro, there are dock notifications you can use and assign to a swipe gesture on your dock icons. (menu, pref, dock settings, dock notifications; then long press dock icon, swipe gesture action)

Try Go SMS on froyo, I started using it and it works great. Also has the pop ups where you can respond
thx, will give it a shot. I actually tried SMS notifier and that didn't clear them either. I'm 100% sure I turned off the native messaging notification too. Maybe this is one of those weird glitchies that a wipe and flash takes care of? Trying Go SMS now... thx.
just noticed something weird and maybe it's a bug of sorts. When I text myself from an email account (which is how I've been testing) it doesn't seem to work. but when I text from a cell I think it works. Oh well, I'll either follow up with a dev or not : )
I see the same generic icon when I get an email or text. I can change the sound I get but is it poosible to change the icon to be different for email than texts? I had this on my old droid charge but cant seem to find where to change it on this phone.
I swicthed to Nova launcher but I am not rooted or anything.
Thanks!
You could use an alternate mail app, or use an app which'll notify you of a new SMS and turn off the stock SMS notifications. Take a look at "SMS popup", you can use it for SMS notification without using the popup thing.

Hi guys, tried searching the exisiting threads and read the help forum, but cant fina an naswer to my problem.
I downloaded and installed the jellybean messaging app for my S4 i9505 as I prefer this messager to the default Samsung one. But every time a message comes through I get two icons, two sound and two notifications for every message, So i uninstalled the default app thinking it just a shortcut to the messaging system and now no messages are coming through. I can still access my messages through the jellybean app.
Does anyone know hoe to recover the default messaging app?
Thanks
Actually would removing the default messaging app actually cause my phone to totally stop sending and receiving sms messages?
ok guys, so turns out it had just been disabled and appears way down at the bottom of the all apps section of application manager
So you can just re-enable it there. Although not sure if my sms is still working if not its obviously a network issue
