I received email from Sony Ericsson that "Sony Ericsson" will be replaced with "Sony".
The first phone that will be launched is Sony XPERIA Arc S
I have bad experience about product of Sony Corp and Sony Ericsson. In somewhat their product isn't so good, TV, Home theater and soon could not last so long compare to other company and their price is always higher. I also have one Sony Clie UX50. That is the last time I bought Sony, full of crap
XPERIA X1 is a trial, I though Sony Ericsson will be different but... oh yeah, without XDA-Developers, this phone is also full of crap.
So will Sony XPERIA Arc S be different?
If the price is higher than Lumia 800, I won't go for it.
Palm (US) vs Sony (JP) huh?
I am not from US nor Japan. But I always satisfy of US product, Palm is absolutely more reasonable and durable than Sony Clie, I have several Palm and Clie. 2 of 3 Clie is broken now, but all my palm PDA never gave any problem.
Japan product is full of sh*t now maybe it "WAS" good. Now, they produce a high price product but the quality is about even worse than China.
I use Ford Fiesta car for a year without problem because it's stronger than the stupid pricey Honda (Jazz) Car. I can give more comparasion between US and JP products. US product is always better.
Sony changes name... But whatever Sony Ericsson and othe japan Company do, I will not buy those crap. X1 is enough.

Latest Buzz On Xperia
With all the excitement leading up to the release of the Xperia X1 there have been many new videos posted by people who were able to attend the recent showcase events of the upcoming release by Sony Ericcson.
There has been a lot of news circulating since Sony Ericcson issued the official September 30, 2008 date for the UK, Sweden, and Germany. For instance, one common question is about the release date in America, which has now been confirmed as being released on Nov. 3, 2008 by the American Sony Ericcson representatives. (Up until now most of the information on the xperia x1 has come from the UK)
Many people may also be interested in knowing that it has been confirmed that the xperia x1 will be released in both silver and black by the crew at the official Sony Ericcson blog website. As of right now, there are no plans to release the Smartphone in any other colors, but if this bothers you than you are probably forgetting about the multitude of skins that are sure to hit markets after the phone does.
Another notable piece of news from the xperiancers website is that the Xperia X1 comes equipped with a very sophisticated chipset so that movies and film clips uploaded or recorded on the upcoming Sony Ericcson phone will be viewable in DVD quality.
This speaks highly of the time and effort that went into making the xperia x1, and helps soothe the pain of how long we have been waiting for its release.
Additionally, the SE Xperia X1 will come loaded with an ATI 3D gaming chip so it can support very high level games. Thus, for those of you who were wondering if the X1 would permit you to support your World of Wars, gaming habits, you can rest at night knowing the Xperia creators had your best interests in mind.
Plus, for those on the other end of the spectrum, who have been wondering about the musical abilities of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, there is still no news about rather the new Sony Play multimedia downloader will be supported.
However, the good news is that a BT speaker accessory will be immediately available for purchase so you can use your phone to its max mp3 abilities soon after purchase. (That is if you have any cash left!)
In fact, if you have the cash there are some more prominent accessories you may want for your new xperia x1 including a travel charger, hands free headset, extra battery, and a speakerphone. You can check out some pictures of the accessories here if you wish. One thing you will notice about all the accessories is that they are just as streamlined as the Xperia X1 itself!
Would like to know the differences between UK and USA version for folks who don't have patient to wait. (Support GSM 850 and AT&T's 3G?)

haha.
confirmed by who??
by the American Sony Ericcson representatives
Atleast that's what it says.
they also said this!
"According to a Sony Ericsson rep at the CTIA Wireless trade show today, the X1 will not have separate European and US hardware versions, so the UK model will work well in the US."

But wait, I'm confused. I thought that the original comment that Sony Ericsson stated was that it was coming out 9-30-08 for UK and Sweden and sometime late December for Asia and sometime in Q1 2009 for America?
This is just getting too confusing. I would more expect the Q1 2009 for America because when have we ever gotten something as quick as 33 days after the UK (when it comes to phones).

You know they're watching you.
im glad. I would like them to know how i feel about waiting so long for the x1!
Hah, it's not the FCC's fault, the AT&T Fuze was approved by FCC a long time ago. Why isn't it here? You can thank HTC/AT&T for that one.
Phone shops in the UK are advertising big for the X10 mini, with the slogan "small in size, big on fetures".
So is anyone going to get one of the best (for the price) Android so far, a rather cheap £230 sim free.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWFUKUMA2ds
Looks very fast in the video, would of thought there was a 1ghz processor.
Wait for the x10 mini pro with the keyboard. I'll probably upgrade to that if its good.
This is the dumbest looking phone from SE
Having the big brother myself, i bought the mini for m g/f and she loves it!
I think it is marketed for the ladies? My Mrs says she would like one in pink or white. I see them advertised in France, but when I look for it on the service providers web sites still nothing. Strange that there is still no 2.x android! Not that my Mrs will care.
However, I did see it at Phone House for one Euro with a one year service contract. But again it did not specify which carrier.
It's the Mrs B-day next week and i would love to have this by than. Also, going to get the mw600, which she will love.
im getting the pro one when it comes out. this will replace my n97mini!
I am not considering any SE phones until I know for certain that SE keeps its promised upgrade schedule. There are a lot of other phones in this world to contemplate.
Hi,
The Arc S came out here in Portugal at an amazing price of 299,90€.
(I bought my X10i for 399,90€)
Should I try to sell my X10i and buy an Arc S? What do you guys think?
It's hard for me to decide... The X10i is, for me, the most beautiful phone ever made. But the Arc's specs are better and it's not bad looking at all. On the contrary...
This is like,
EXCELLENT design with GOOD performance and specs
vs.
GOOD design with EXCELLENT performance and specs.
wowww!!i'm from spain, but i don't mind going for a weekend to portugal to buy the phone at that amazing price!!where can i find it?
Hello skyleth
I believe you can find it in any or most TMN stores.
But I can grant you you'll find it at these coordinates:
40.165789,-8.859739
That's a Shopping Center called Foz Plaza in Figueira da Foz, Coimbra.
On the 2nd floor look for the TMN store and you'll see the Arc S
yeah, ofcourse you should for that price! Arc S is better in every way than the x10...
so is the regular arc even cheaper? If so buy it and overclock it yourself and you have an arc s lol
I don't know why, but TMN sells the Arc S cheaper than the regular Arc.

of course i would sell it an buy tha arc!
i media markt in sweden last week arc s was nearly 3000 swedish kroner and arc was 3500 swedish kroner!??
In amongst the detail from the Sony PlayStation press conference at Gamescom 2012 on Tuesday, there were a few details that we didn’t pick up. Firstly, Sony confirmed that it will no longer be offering PS one classics on PlayStation Certified devices. PlayStation Mobile will be used to host dedicated and original content only and not old ports.
This is a shame on many fronts, partly as we were still waiting for the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider to make an appearance on our trusty Xperia PLAY. It looks like Sony is now keeping these PS one Classics exclusive to the PS Vita. Sony confirmed that over 100 PS One classics will be available to download on the handheld from August 28th including Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 2.
PlayStation Mobile is due to launch by the end of the year in nine countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia with more countries to follow. Around thirty titles will be available at launch across a number of genres including Adventure, Action, Puzzle, and Sports.
Sony announced an impressive list of third-party developers and publishers that are working on content for PlayStation Mobile. The list contains 46 Japanese companies and 39 companies from Europe and the United States. It includes the likes of Sega, From Software, THQ, Arc System Works, Nippon Ichi, Tecmo Koei and Team 17. See the full list here [PDF].
Asus and Wikipad are new additions to the PlayStation Certified family and join the other third-party manufacturer, HTC whose 2012 smartphones (One X, One S, and One V) are also PS Certified. They join the Sony Mobile stable of smartphones and tablets including the Xperia GX, Xperia SX, Xperia arc, Xperia acro, Xperia PLAY, Xperia acro HD, Xperia S, Xperia ion, Xperia acro S, Tablet S and Tablet P.

P.S. Hit Thanks if this is useful to you
does that link above work for ICS xperia arc?
I want to upgrade my phone from my arc s. I think I need to have one more number (new simcard), that's why I'm planning to buy a new phone. Eventhough Z1 is drool worthy, but not enough money available for now. I was thinking to buy a windows phone as my secondary device (maybe lumia 925?) while I'll need to wait until next year to upgrade my arc s to Z1. And another plan come across my mind. I upgrade my arc s to xperia Z and having my arc s for secondary phone fow a while and then upgrade to Z2 next year. How do you guys think?
Every single opinion is appreciated.

We can't exactly help you here, the choice of your phone is up to you since you will be the one who will use it for the next few years. My only advice would be not to pick the phone based on the specifications but based on how you would use the phone since each phone has its unique selling point that will appeal to the consumer. Think carefully about your choice and don't jump the gun by getting a phone that does not suit you.
