Some hours ago Twitter updated its app for android. Now the lag is almost gone in my Galaxy Note.

I think it is still way too laggy. Seesmic is so much better!

Yeah, twitter is now MUCH better! Thanks for the heads up. I was using the Android Pro Widgets on my desktop the whole time. I would have never noticed if it weren't for this thread! hehe. Thanks!

Bugs me how when you install an app it automatically drops the app on your home screen. That can be changed (I wasn't aware after months of owning the the XOOM).
----------
Open the Market app, go to My Apps screen, open menu, un-check Add shortcuts for new apps option.
Thanks for that!

I actually like that feature since I'm usually too lazy to add an icon to the home screen and I find it less annoying to delete unused icons than it is to add new ones.
It is just me or twitter seems to be extremely laggy on Galaxy Note compared to other android phone?
I is really laggy. I don't have an answer why, but I notice it for sure.

yeah i was thinking about this yesterday. It's the app that is causing this. After all, it's only text right?! And even Facebook isn't' that laggy..
I heard that's a general problem of one of the latest twitter app updates. I use twicca and find it a lot better than the original client.

Its laggy. Try bigger font size.

It is absolutely useless. I tested a few other clients for that exact reason. Ubersocial is much better, but Seesmic takes the victory. Unfortunately not the best client in other respects imho.
With LA4 ROM the official Twitter client is less laggy on my Note, but it really makes one wonder what kind of API have they used to end up this way. Other similar apps scroll very smootly.
I've came to the conclusion that it's the Android version of Twitter that is at fault. I am facing same lags on my wife's SGS2 as well.
same here, laggy as hell. Also why is it not possible to pinch and zoom in Facebook app?
laggy as hell. Switched to TweetDeck, never looked back.

its the official twitter app that has issues. i used twica and tweet deck, it works flawlessly.
Yeah, it's useless.
Plume is great, BTW.
Wow that sounds new. Will try plume later.

I agree the official Twitter client is much smoother on the latest RocketRom (though still not completely lag free).

Config -
XXLA6 - CF-ROOT LA6 / DEODEXED.
Same, I stuck with using the official because I like how its widget looks like
I have been trying a number of browsers and also I have also had a system update and I noticed a couple of days ago that the ics bookmark widget has disappeared. After doing some research I saw that others have had this after installing Chrome so did a full reset but the widget has not reappeared, has anyone else had this or has the widget been pulled in the latest update?

The 4.0.4 update removes the stock browser's bookmarks widget (which I liked) and replaces it with 2 really bad bookmark widgets that don't automatically add widgets like the old widget did.
Drat and double drat.....
Thanks for the reply.

Yea, I had that widget enabled on 4.0.3 on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3113 and then, I updated it and it was gone forever.
ics browser+ from the market has old style.
good day.
Yolo,
There might be a tip about this in the note 2 forum.. I couldn't find any.. if there's any im sorry about the repost
So the last couple of days I found this really annoying I kept pressing the home button twice to go back to the screen but the svoice activates (idiotic slow iphone habit) so I had too disable it in svoice settings.. and after that I can feel the smoothness that is project butter... any apps like nova 3 game or chrome... it seems to close the apps quicker... all so very smooth... I couldn't believe it at 1st but later I kept my eye on the ram usage on the entire day it never went past 1gb.. usually I use snote and Gtalk video to get work done with my colleagues .. at times the phone reboots or crashes but after disabling svoice and some samsung apps in application manger... for almost 3 days.. the phone is super fast, battery last longer than 14 hours and no crashes or lag ..

Which samsung apps? You have rooted phone?

Just tried it, and it *seems* a bit faster. Also with the force hardware hardware rendering in dev options.
There's still some extra speed to be squeezed out of the note 2. I find the speed difference between my note 1 with hydracore 4.3b and the stock note 2 not very very big in daily use....

Just tried it and the phone seems faster and more responsive indeed bro :good: Thanks for the find man, hadn`t heard or read about it yet.
Awesome....faster for sure..tnx dude.

Of course from the day 1 I bought it.. but you can still disable it.. the apps which I disabled are S suggest, Learning hub, simple alarm clock and samsung push service.. if you get an error or some sort.. scroll all the way down in application manager (All section) and enable it back.. but it best you don't mess around with any other features likw nfc test or cell standby cuz it drains your battery... that's not the solution (I'm just saying)

Hello, I have noticed a huge amount of lag or freezing while making posts on the Facebook app while on my nexus 7. I will click on a post to comment, start typing, and it will freeze.
I am using the swype beta 1.4 or the new swift key.
Thing is... This is also happening on my galaxy s3. Doesn't seem to happen with the stock keyboard though.
Anytime else?
Facebook app's fault?
