Battery problem - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

After upgrading my X5 to latest gingerbread ROM my battery performance got much worse.
I’ve tried oficial 2.3.5 ROM and now I’m using Cm7. In both cases, during the nigh, my battery drains about 16% in 8 hours (2%/hour) while it used to drain 2% all night long in 2.2.2 ROM (Cm7 also).
Acording to cpu spy, during those 8 hours my phone was in deep sleep for about 7:50h (about 10 minutes using other frequencies) so I believe that is not the problema.
Is it normal that my battery drains so fast while in deep sleep???

reaalllyyy??? i havent tried official 2.3 yet, I am waiting for final official, and for now I'm on elite miui. And I wanted to install 2.3 tomorow... so is this drain just at custom roms, or at official too? and what about on ics?

It's preset in every rom with .35 kernel, .35 isn't really optimized yet Oficial 2.3.5 seems to have a little better battery but it still drains a lot faster than .32 kernel roms.

i think calibrate battery can help

Official gingerbread battery is ok
Custom roms r the prob
Try flashing rom again

ROM & Kernel with the best battery life?

Hi, so far the only rom I have used is CM6, and the battery life is just absolutely terrible. Maybe its just my nexus, maybe not, point is I want a new ROM.
A ROM that you guys have tried and decided to stick to.
Battery life is VERY important to me.
Try IntersectRaven's CFS kernel, best I have found for CM
For ROM try Enomther, battery life pretty good on that one

I had been using CM 6 for a while and just recently switched over to Enomether's latest TheOfficial ROM. The battery life is now DRAMATICALLY better. Just looking over the Juice Plotter graphs shows that the standby time overnight is almost flat. Say 3-4% drop every 3 hours or so. With CM6, the battery level is on a constant and steeper decline, even when not in use. I didn't take any records, but my N1 on CM6 would be down to ~45-50% overnight if I forget to plug in the charger (from full). I heard that SetCpu will help, but I don't think it worked out for me.
Enomether has its own CPU Governor and while it doesn't offer as many features as SetCPU - the ROM's default settings work well right out of the box - no tweaking is needed really for the CPU governor.
I too was having really poor battery life with CM6, losing about 50% within 8 hours after charge, without even using the phone much! I'm trying out other roms right now just for fun. I'm using Evil's Nxsense but with the kernal posted by Autinhyeu (post # 8541 in that thread). So far seems to be holding battery extremely well. About 5 hours since charge and about 90% battery.
LeoFroYo Rom is pretty good with battery
try the leofroyo rom latest beta. i get great battery in standby with the stock kernal that it comes with. 2.5 hrs per 1% battery. typically in a day making calls and using the internet, i lose about 30%-25% battery. not too bad.

2.0.1 beta 3 is the latest version that i'm using

cm sucks when it comes to battery life in my experience. i tried the 6.0 version when it came out (first stable release) and battery life was horrible.
5 hours since charge? only standby or some usage?

That was mostly standby with setcpu profile setting cpu to minimum when the screen was off. But even with those same settings on CM6 my battery would be about 70% after the same amount of time.
I just reflashed cm6 but with that other kernal so I'll see how well it works today.
MIUI has the best battery life of any ROM I've used on my N1.. idle drain of about .5% / hour when using pershoot's kernels from droidbasement.
I'm using shadow rom2.1 stripped down and I get about 16 to 18 hours usage.

I'm using CM6 and my battery life is great. I got rid of my Seidio extended battery to get an Otterbox case and the stock battery on CM6 is awesome.
My phone has been off the charger since before 1pm and now at midnight its on 46% and thats with heavy use of Angry Birds, text, emails and web browsing !
My battery life is also acceptable on cm6. Not amazing but acceptable. Then again I put mine in airplane mode overnight and get about a 4% drain, which I kind assume might be something to do with my Widgets.
Okay, so I decided to try one of these two ROMs:
Enomther
LeoFroYo
not sure which one yet, and not sure what kernel to use with the ROM I choose.
I hate switching ROMs cuz of the wiping and restoring and all that crap.

do you guys know if the leofroyo rom will work with slcd nexus w/ updated HBOOT??
i posted in the leofroyo rom thread, but no replies yet. itching to give it a shot.

[Q] ROM with little battery drain ?

What ROM should i use for little battery drain ?
3 days with 20% right now using froyobread. Normal use, WWW little gamING calls and sms. With floyo i got the same
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
I have the WIFI connection problem with the FroyoBread, i mean i can't connect to wireless networks...but i will sacrifice if the ROM is not draining so much battery.
Mine has some issue in floyobread v12 battery drain...but over all its a best custom rom that i try from many others...but if can make it very less drain in battery it would be 100%..
please update info with last roms...which is best battery drain rom at the moment? gingerDXv15, GingerXperiav007 or gingerCyBorgv003?are froyo-based roms cheaper on battery than gingerbread-based roms?
i'm using fxp rom with their oc'ed kernel and i lost only 4% in cca 14 hours
which one is fxp?
I used gingercyborg yesterday so far the battery is good but some bugs i encounter. Today im using gingerdx v15 is installed the module of dx. I used smart ass gov.. so far i have problem in battery draining.

Best Kernel and ROM (2.2.x or 2.3.x) for G1 considering Battery Save

Hello,
I'v tried 3 ROM's (gingeryoshi 1.2, froyo by lazlo(last one)) and different kernels but on 2.2.x or 2.3.x my G1 get battery drain really fast..
Now I'm using COS-DS 2.3.4 and the battery drain is lower (when the mobile is on "stand by" drains really lower.. But when I get a call (2.. or 3 minutes..) or use Camera, Internet.. etc it consume battery really fast. (From the 3 ROM's above the one that giveme best baterry life on 2.x.x was COS-DS).
When I use my mobile on 1.x (1.5... 1.6) android ROM the baterry last's better than in those 2.x.x ROMs.
So here is my question.. I need sugestions of ROMs and Kernels for battery saving (I use the mobile a lot).
Thx a lot
I
Anyone can helpe me?
you're going to have to find a rom that you like and then flash a undervolted kernel over it. im using cm7 magpie with an undervolted kernel and battery is good but not great. most roms don't have amazing battery life since they are for speed. the g1 never had great battery life anyway. if you want good battery get an extende battery off ebay.
Thx a lot, do u sugest any kernel to froyo by lazlo with undervloting settings?
The kernel that I'm using with FBL 5.2 is the [email protected] #145. I've tried many with that ROM but this one seem to be working great and I've gotten the best battery life from it. With the radio off, I get over 6-7 hours before it drains a percent or two. With the radio on and I'm stationary with a decent signal, I get only 1 percent drain per 1 1/2 hour when the radio is in standby.
I flashed the kernel after I setup the phone and most of the apps I use. I also flashed this kernel on my wife's G1 with SuperBler v4 and it made a huge difference also. Give it a try. Good luck.
Will a Froyo rom be more conservative regarding battery life than a gingerbread one in the G1?
depends on the rom

Calibrating the battery in MIUI Rom.....

Hi all. I'm using Miui rom 1.6.17.1. i installed it without charging the phone fully and now my battery life sux :-\
So i turn my phone off and try to charge it for caibrating in CWM but it turning on once i plug the charger....
I understand thats it a known issue, so how can i do this thing?
calibrating in miui? i would say its impossible
when my charger is pluged in an i restartmy phone then spring the percentag from 40 to 55
sad ... same here ... but you may try to let your phone to complete discharging battery, until go off ... and after that charge it 100% without using the phone and clear battery statistics from cwm.
Well...may be it was stupid thing to do but i flashed froyo back on...calibrated and than flashed miui with 100%
well ... your battery will still suck...cuz its cm7 base..which has battery drain
cm7 <3
Yeah...thats a problem, but i'm in love in miui
The latest cm7 should have addressed it already.
I was in the same situation as you, battery only lasts 6hrs on any given day.
My battery now lasts more than a day even on moderate use n 3G on all day. I initially rest the battery stats then performed a full power cycle.
Now when I upgrade between miui versions, I always ensure that the battery is 100%

may i know how to calibrate battery ?
i m in miui rom
You can't calibrate the battery properly in MIUI as it is supposed to be done with the phone off, MIUI or rather as someone else has mentioned its down to CM7
It can't charge the phone with it switched off because I believe CM7 is based on the Nexus and the Nexus cannot charge with the phone off
I could be wrong though, but the above is what I have gathered through reading about it

Market: batterycalibrating
Iam on galnet miu 3.2 with neo 10 Kernel uv. Jv6 Modem.

Hard battery drain could anyone help

I have written this thread about battery drain but it was deleted...
So problem is insane battery drain. I don't know what to do, because i tried everything. This bull**** appeared when I installed firedroid rom with alfs 7 ics kernel. Battery drain was very heavy, after 2 minutes writing sms battery drains 5 percents. it's very much!!! AND SCREEN BRIGHTNESS was lowest, wifi, BT, 3g, sync, all was off
cpu undervolted to 320 mhz. So fully charged battery drain in less than one day without phone using. Is it normal? noooooooooooooooo. I've tried calibration, wiping batt stats, battery saving apps, finally reflashing kernel and rom. But anything didn't help. Now I have x8droid rom with alfs v8 kernel, but battery drain is insane like in previous rom. So what to do? please help me. this **** really sucks... I can't live with this....
Install froyo. <--- Best solution.
but i don't like froyo, there isn't lithuanian language. Any other solutions?
These two threads might help you a lot in choosing your ROM

Did you try to reinstall using stock ROM and stock Kernel?
If the problem still exist, i think that will be in your hardware (bad battery maybe)
or you can see your battery health by typing this code in phone dialer *#*#4636#*#* , and then select battery information
What a hell? I flashed ginger jh v5 and alfs v08 kernel, and battery drain is not fixed too!!! Could it be hardware problem? or maybe rom? But i don't think so because i have tried many roms (x8 droid, gingerjh, froyo v3, etc) but there's no difference.
Are you sure that
Data disabled
GPS off,
BLUETOOTH off
Disabled MOCK LOCATIONS
2G Networks
all the time
Make sure you have switched off "background data" and not ONLY " sync.
Switch off both of them.
Switching off both gave a boost to my battery life

try using stock ROM and stock kernel. if the problem still happen, maybe it's in your hardware .
if using the stock ROM and kernel you didn't face the problem, i think the problem came with the custom ROM/kernel. so you must tweak your phone to get the best setting for your battery life
yes everything is off 3g gps, all. I installed stock rom and kernel, but the problem exists. since charged to 100, only with sms writing, no internet wifi etc, battery drained to 48 percents in about 10 - 14 hours. Is it normal?
SO IS IT A HARDWARE PROBLEM?? NOT A BATTERY BECAUSE I'VE CHANGED BATTERY TO MY FRIEND ONE AND BATTERY DRAINED AS FAST AS WITH MY BATTERY

It really depends on the number of widgets you use... I seriously doubt if having multiple pages would lead to battery drain.
First don't use cpu at 320mhz it will make phone unstable . Second use Wifi and 3G networks when u really need , not 24/7 . Third look if you have enabled auto-sync(for me is using a lot of battery). Fourth my recommandation is to use Bitdefender Power Tune-up it helps a lot !
Press thanks if my answer helped you
