Shall I change rom? Or what? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi,
Some time ago, i have installed via NAND on my HD2 CyanogenMod-7-08312011-NIGHTLY-Desire[TyphooN-v3.6.2-MAGLDR].
Last two weeks I have some problems.
I used to have a problem with sms messages-forced pin everytime i tried to read a message. I deleted all my messages and now it seems like working good.
Since last Monday I cannot enter gallery. It gives me a black screen. I tried everything.
So I thought to change Rom. Is it a good idea? I am very happy with the Rom I have but now that behaves like that maybe it'sbetter to change to a better & newer rom. But which one?
Thanx in advance.

just install a fresh rom like a Hyperdroid or cm9 roms. rember to start clean with task29.

if u like this rom - try wipe dalvik-cache.
if it dosnt help - flash a new rom.

try to instal NAND android because it is stable than the SD android it tried the SD versions but my mobile always hange up but with NAND NO PROBLEMS
try this rom i use it

Phone hangs at white HTC Boot screen?

Hi all, I suddenly have problems flashing roms and installing cabs...
This is the case with Dutty's rom, kumars rom and a few others (topix). They install fine but after installing my applications and restoring my pim data it hangs in the white boot screen (with the HTC text and red info about rom, radio and such in the bottom left).
Even after hard resetting this seems to be the case. It boots sometimes normally, sometimes it hangs on the orange windows screen, but in the end after setting up most of the stuff hanging on the white screen again. I haven't changed any cabs since my previous roms. Could apps be the cause of these issues?
Have flashed tons of roms already, mostly SSPL and since a day or 2 I installed HSPL to do the flashing. Could that have anything to do with it? Have been using this phone for a month and a half I think without any problems.
Going to flash one last time for tonight (work calling again in a few hrs :/) and only restore pim data to see how that goes...

Maybe your card is kind of "critical", making the flash kind of bad?
Didn´t have any issues with either Dutty´s, nor with topix...

Hmmm, my card? I flash from the pc... No card is used, also flashed the last time without sd card in it.
I also have flashed topix and dutys before and had no problems at all, I suddenly got issues after flashing Kumars rom (not blaming it! Plenty of ppl very happy with it!) and after that the same with others...
Meh, waiting for the sms-hotfix to finish installing now. Just finished flashing again and restoring data (and installing a few cabs). Hopefully I can actually start using it again, at least until the weekend.
I think what he means is try to reformat your card. Even though you flash with PC some of the newer HTC Sense with Documents tab write and read data from the storage card. If it is corrupted or bad it can cause a lot of problems.
I have had this happen twice in the past and the format cleared the problem.

Ah ok, haven't installed the versions with the document tab though but worth a try I guess.
Otherwise I'll reflash the Turkish 1.61 WWE (or was it the t-mobile 2.01 version) rom again and reflash roms from there. Perhaps I'll flash with the SSPL again to see if that makes a difference.
Phone still working for now, hardly installed anything and just restored pim data. Guess I'll leave it like that for now :/
Hmmm, I now flashed a firmware using the SD card method and that seems to have worked fine... Hope it's fixed now.

This has been happening to me quite frequently. I am not sure why this is happening. I am flashing Stock ROM and try to flash the Cooked ones.
I DO NOT want to go the Mitty way and screw up my device if something goes wrong. So I hope the Stock flash would help me this time around. I just flashed the 1.66 Stock ROM and am planning to flash Dutty's 1.3 WWE to see how it goes. Hope this would fix the issue.
I guess my device is taking the hit with the ROM flashings. Got to rest my baby with a stable ROM for a while.

Excellent choice. This is what I did to refresh my HD2 from all the flashing in the past 4 days:
1. Flash back to the Shipped ROM (hopefully you have a copy of the shipped ROM, someone posted a link to the thread here somewhere)
Important!!! Make sure you have the RIGHT Shipped ROM. I made a mistake thinking my ROM was WWE Europe when it was WWE Asia. Got an error flashing (since it was looking for the right CID, etc.) but I got it sorted out. (I couldn't even get to the white htc splash... only bootloader mode)
2. Flashing to the shipped ROM apparently triggers a "task 28" like MTTY state, restoring your HD2 to stock (formatting, etc.)
3. Now that your back to Stock, re-run HSPL
4. Download you favorite Cooked ROM and start Flashing like Day 1
Optional Step 5. When you've found the ROM you plan to stick with Then my customizations begin (Manila tweaks, Reg Tweaks, App Tweaks, App Installs, etc.) (I am currently on a very stable Cooked ROM... YMMV of course...)
Optional Step 6. Backup using SPB or Sprite and keep backup handy so when I need to reflash or hard reset (assuming its the same ROM or maybe a slight upgrade) I just run my backup and get back up and running in no time.
Happy Flashing everyone!

I had this exact same thing happen, and I fixed it by re flashing my radio. After that the problem was solved. Good luck with it.
Damn I tried everything! Flashed new rom new radio formated sd and downloaded new fresh froyo builds and there is still this fast sound...what for a rom, radio and android build are you using when it´s working on yours?

[Q] Any way of rolling back from ICS to Gingerbread on HTC HD2 T-Mobile

I have recently ported NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V1.4 on my HTC HD2(T-Mobile) and I need to downgrade this to NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7) build?
I just tried with MagLdr with the new zip file, but at the time of first time boot up with Android setup, it complained that some google.com.XXX is already missing. So basically it wouldn't allow me to complete the setup for Gingerbread. Only reason why I am looking for downgrading is because I feel a lot of Market apps don't work on ICS Rom.
For example a bank app has a capability of scanning a check with my camera but when I am using it in ICS, it's saying that "XXX App has stopped working" please report the error.
Similarly some of the GPS application is not working fine on ICS and I am hoping this is happening because ICS is still in BETA mode and hoping that Gingerbread is much more stable then ICS.
task29
install hspl magldr and then flash the nand rom.
best solution.

Dont do that, it's just unnecessary. Go into CWM, wipe, repartition then flash your new ROM. Also, you didn't 'port' Android to your phone, you flashed it.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
rolling back
I tried to wipe partition then install from zip file and did not work any suggestions ?
Since most GB roms requires less system partition than ICS roms, I would think repartation will help. Besides after repartition, any trace of any rom is wiped clean completely.
After that you should be able to flash the zip file normally.
Ill try that when as soon as i get home and let you know if it worked , thanks
worked , thanks

How to rollback to Gingerbread from ICS ROM on HTC HD2

I am a HTC HD2 owner running NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V1.5. But I have observed since it's a beta release, a lot of application don't run or abruptly stops.
Based on my experience I wanted to go back to Gingerbread ROM. I have seen following GB ROM on XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
But I am not sure how to safely go back, since when I just tried application GB rom on top of ICS rom, while startup it threw a lot many errors and a lot many application were not running. Infact it wouldn't even let me in with initial setup process.
Please let me know how can I rollback to GB. Also apart of above mentioned ROM, do you have any other stable GB ROM, please mention.
You should be able to flash GB, but it would probably be best to do a task29 to wipe the phone first. I would back up your current setup with titanium and CWM, the use the HD2 Toolkit to task29, repartition, etc before installing the GB rom.
I use Hyperdroid as my daily rom, but occasionally flash various ics roms to see how development is going.

Firstly, I would recommend a CM7 rather than AOSP ROM. A Task29 isn't needed, just wipe in CWM, repartition to 150mb system and flash the new ROM, it should work. Only Task29 if it doesn't work this time, but it's normally unnecessary.
if its not too late...

[Q] problems with incoming calls

for some time, after restarting or turned on my leo, if I receive a call, the phone freezes and I have to restart it. but if after a reboot, I'm the first to make a call to someone else, I can talk quietly and the phone will not lock. this happens for all subsequent calls. I thought it would be a problem with the ROM I used, but also by changing the ROM problem occurs again.
What should I do?
my LEO:
HSPL 3.3 (I also tried 8.2 but I get the same problem)
radio 2.15.50.14
Bootloader CLK 1.5.0.3
ROM: Pixeldroid Jelly Bean AOPK 4.2.2 v 6.0 FINAL 20/05/2013 (with date and onext linuxswap)
thanks for your help
p.s . sorry for my english!
I was going to ask you to post your question here, in the ROM specific Q&A thread. But you said you changed the ROM and the problem is still there.
Try a fresh install, remove everything, install a new ROM and BEFORE restoring your apps or setting up the phone, try to reproduce the problem. It could be because of one of your apps, or one of the settings.

Unfortunately, even after a fresh install, my LEO crashes when I receive an incoming call.
Moreover , i have no badblock
Your problem is weird. I have just made a search, and found about two people with a similar problem, but with a dead end, i.e. not answered.
I see that you have SWAP enabled, try to remove its partition from the sd card and reinstall the ROM without swap.
I had only troubles with Swap/Odex checking while inatalling ROM, so yeah, worth trying.
Also, it still can be HARDWARE issue as nothing (which should) helps.
If unchecking swap wont help, i'd suggest doing hard reset and if WM has same problem, go to HTC or any GSM store, maybe big heads can help with that then.
I hope You will get it sorted out!

Long time ago had similar issue. Problem was in phone and second factor slowly dying sdcard.
I fix my problem by flashing back to wm6.5 then after did install back MAGLDR used newer Cwm (dont use old 3.x.x version). Ofc bought new sdcard.
My advice would be try now while you are on Wm 6.5 this rom, its SRAM version, meaning you will run from wm and it will be loaded in RAM so no messing with sdcard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868306
If it works, try to flash Magldr, don't use HSPL 3.3 instead use older 2.8, also don't use Cwm 3.x.x use instead 5.x.x version.
When you install android allways follow instructions especially how much system, data partition size must be and if you install JB version try NativeSd if your card is good one.
Hope it helps.

This happened to my phone also difference being it didn't freeze all the time but literally half of the time whenever i got an incoming call. I did all the stuff being suggested here and tried multiple roms without success. Then i removed task killer after a fresh install of "CM9ight_leo_v1.1a_div2" rom and my phone hasn't freezed since, been two months now.
