anyone seen any network improvements? - Epic 4G General

All I heard was how sprints network is getting fast and blah blah blah but has anyone seen speeds that are actually faster? Mid Ga doesn't seem any better. I looked at the sight and see upgrades being done but I can't tell at all. Am I crazy or am I getting ransacked

Same place. They show upgrades happening but I don't see it. Its frustrating. I have 6 towers near me and get pathetic to OK coverage on base, but off bade its pretty good. Problem is I used to be on Verizon and they are strong in my area. I hate to switch back but I been w spring almost 2 years now, my wife has been w them 7 years. I am pretty close to cancelling this and moving on. I really like sprints line of phones but w 3 lines, I feel I can do better unless they have real changes they are making. I am holding on to the hold of the 800mhz I have seen floating around and was under the impression that that's what network vision was bringing me. Now 5 months after talk of it...still no great data. When everyone on Verizon is sucking data slam up. A consistent 1mb where ever I go isn't extreme to me when that's pretty much how Verizon treated me years ago. Now all my Verizon friends at seeing 2+mb

Same here...they upgrade some sites but nothing gets better. Even tech support said they upgraded one tower and was able to give me details. Still sub 100 kilobit speeds from this tower.

Well according to sprint next month I should have better service... needless to say if I dont see any difference then I'm gone cause I work 50+ hours a week and have no service wat so ever so if no improve bye bye sprint

Where I live it's a struggle to get over 100 kbit on the 3g and 1 mbit on the 4g when it's available but It is better than AT&T.
Sprint unlimited is a joke, it's like offering unlimited mileage on an auto lease and then you find out it's a yugo that can't go much faster than 1 mph.
I can't break 1 gig a month because the data rates are so slow.
My plan is to drop sprint when my contract is up. You can sign a new contact and get cheaper prices on high end phones.

Wow 100kb? Yuck, I would have left them long ago. Hell, I roam at 130kb! I know sorta because I work on an air force base and in some spots data is non existent. I may ride it out until June...if it isn't happening, I have to leave sprint. Too bad they don't read forums haha. Hurry up Sprint! Stop buying iPhones and buy some damn towers!

That is about the speed I get too most of the time, damn right, 14 billion to bog down your network some more, real winning company... **** the iPhone anyways...

I noticed my 4g signal ha become stronger over the past six months. This week I found I no longer lose 4g in the backroom at work and my 3g has started working a tad more in areas there was once none. Overall speed is the same just more coverage.

That's positive. Hopefully something will come to my area soon . I was fishing for feedback. I do like sprints price. And have always had voice coverage, hopefully data coverage expands here

Its all about location. Sprint service isn't that bad guys.... I get great service in Omaha, NE .. however... 4g is virtually non-existent, which is retarded considering im required to pay for it. I have had verizon, alltel (when it existed), StraightTalk, AT&T.... I would say Sprint and StraightTalk (YES STRAIGHT TALK) provided the best service for me in terms of dropped calls and data. AT&T is a joke.
When I was using straight talk I had their nokia smart phone....if I recall correctly.... im pretty sure their 3g service ran off verizon towers, im not sure though.

A tower was marked recently as having recieved a data speed upgrade within the past 6 months near my niece's high school. We were there for a basketball game, 6pm to about 8pm at night on thursday. I did a speed test and saw 1200kbps. I was impressed. By my house it is still 200-300kbps at times dipping down to less than 100 or in the middle of the night peaking around 450.
From the looks of things the upgrades should be heading towards towers in my area soon. I am curious to see how it goes, as I would love to get better 3g speeds. I have some crappy 4g right now but its so spotty and the battery drain so significant 4g is just pointless to me.

Is there a site like this for Verizon? In case someone would like to (hypothetically) change prl's and force roam to Verizon in certain areas? It would be handy to know.

3G is gotten lil better.

Better where I am at. Nothing like what I would like but better.... on the funny side, My brother is staying with us and he has Verizon, talk about slow service in this area. You can cry and ***** all you want, all carriers will have problems. Why not over pay for them. lol

Mines slower. After the EL30 update. Modem issues thou. I hope not, I like the latest and greatest.

I live in Los Angeles. I've noticed my 4g improve in reliability, but decrease in speed.
My 3g is abysmal. Like, almost worthless. Once in a blue moon I'll get 200+ kb/s, but usually it is sub 100.
Calls/texts are generally fine though.

I'm not seeing a huge problem with Sprint, I did 3 tests like this and they all came out roughly this fast. I live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota and I can stream Pandora without any interruptions back and forth from my 40 min commute. When I head to my dads place (its 3 hours away in the middle of nowhere) I can still stream Pandora basically skipless the whole way. I hardly ever use 4g though since its a battery suck and overkill 99% of the time, and it doesn't reach into my apartment . I also don't roam very often, automatic system select rarely works with data without some fiddling. I only use roaming at my dad's house since verizon is the only provider out there. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with Sprint

I dont get it.. whats up with my data speeds?

My data speeds have gotten slower and slower over the past couple of months. I cant even stream a youtube video without it buffering to hell. WTF SPRINT! I know I cant be getting throttled hell my billing cycle just started.
My speeds go up and down.. Some days thier fast and smooth and some days their just slow and laggy. I dont get it...
Yeah I have the same slowdown for my data speed as well. First I thought it was just me and all my flashing addiction but after seeing this glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.
I noticed this over the last week.
swyped from my gingerbread'd Evo 4G
The last 2 weeks have been getting worse and worse for me. I am going to call sprint tomorrow.

Have you paid attention to what time of day data speed slows down? Could be just the network being overloaded in your area. For example I start work at 7am and if I run a SpeedTest during 6:50a-8ish I am in the 700-800kb range in my office. If I run the same test after 10a I see anywhere from 200-500kbs. The worst is near lunch hour and after 3pm....damn kids! lol

Mines has gotten terrible no matter what time - and I check at the dead of night most of the time. Used to get 1.5-2 Mbps, down to .5-1 Mbps now-a-days.
.1-.4 mbps up and down all day and nite, from. .8-1.2 up and down.

This is what happens when carriers keep adding subscribers, but are unable to keep their backhaul data pipes expanding. They need subscribers in order to build infrastructure, so we the consumer suffer in the meantime.

I also have to imagine that Android being Sprint's biggest smart OS doesn't help. WinMo/BB just kind of idles when it.. idles. Android on the other hand is built to have constant background data updating, now add a bunch of both old and new subscribers who don't know better and leave the short default polling of their thousand and one apps, and you got a scaling problem.
Its quite annoying. Forget trying to stream anything its pointless lol. There was a point where I could watch netflix with no buffer, now it takes it like 20 minutes just to get to the point where itll actually play. I dont even use it much anymore because as soon as it finally plays the buffer will kick right back in. DAMN I really dont want to have to get this AT&T DSL garbage.
Same issue with me in Wisconsin.
Had 2 friends standing next to me, 1 Verizon 1 AT&T...They both passed the 2mb mark while I chugged along at 350ish k
I used to get awesome service outside Milwaukee but now it seems like complete crap
I called sprint today about the slow data issue, I'm in green bay wi. She told Mr that a lot of people on Wisconsin have been complaining about slow data speeds. Something about waiting to get approval to add something to their towers to speed up data. Who knows it sounds fishy to me, thank God I have roam control to get better speed off Verizon's towers.

I noticed my 3g going to crap over the past month because I stream Pandora all day. Plus just looking at the bars I could tell the signal was not as good (I haven't run any speed tests).
Discovered today however that my 4g now rocks! I'll be using 4g as often as possible now. I didn't notice a big difference in battery drain because while 3g struggled, 4g flew, so I think that evened out.
This is my subjective opinion of course.

Same here, I work in downtown Phoenix and it's POINTLESS trying to stream anything over 64k quality after 2pm. I thought it was Pandora sucking, so I switched to shoutcast on Xiialive, same thing. In the morning it's fine for the most part, but once all the kids get home from school the entire network goes to crap. I don't care about 4g, I just want decent 3g... oh yeah, my speeds are .6mbs in the evening and at the slowest i'm pushing .09mbs per speedtest.net app.

It pays to complain about poor 3g data speeds.

Been having horrable data speeds on 3g the past 3-4 months. And ive been calling and complaining everytime i have problems and making note of when i called sprint and what was done to the account. I have tried everything they asked including going to the store and getting a refurbed evo. But at the store when i got the refub i dled speedtest and got the same results...so i told them to keep it and give me my original phone back.
Point of this post is to DEFINATLY call and complain...dont let it go and look it over. Take notes on what they said and did to your account and spit it back at them the next time you call. They wanna charge me an etf for something that is not my fault since i want to cancel. I wont accept that...this is there problem...i shouldnt pay for full service if i aint getting it or be punished for cancelling when it is a problem on there end. Here is notes from todays convo with them as an example for others that should do the same. It may be the only way for them to fix there service or the only way they look at you and be like...hes to much of a pain in the ass to keep him so let him go. I will continue to call and complain until it is hopefully fixed or worst case they cancell my contract...todays notes.
Feb 15 spoke to 3 sprint reps and 1 supervisor in the cancellation dept..had my bill adusted to 101.09 dollars for poor service the past 3-4 months. So far total credits issued for poor data the past 4 months is $16 for invisable screen protecter..$20 for data booster at home...$30 for a credit issued for january for poor data speeds and $36 today for february's bill of poor data speeds. Total of $102.00
I've also noticed slower speeds for some time now, along with my home comcast internet. too many people online these days? (my internet used to be blaazzzing fast for 9 years!)
This has happened to me since November. I got my evo on launch day, and was getting great speeds, about 1500kbps down consistently. One day in November, my 3g crapped out. Since then, sprint has given me 6 phones, 3 refurbs and 3 brand new ones. All have the same problem. This leads me to believe its a network problem, I mean how could 7 phones have the same exact problem. But, my friend has an evo, and side by side his is normal, while I get less than 70kbps. And the evo's in the sprint store are fine as well, along with all the other phone models.
I have spent HOURS and HOURS on the phone trying to get this taken care of. I'm not trying to get anything from sprint, I just want my 3g to work. I love the evo, and I love sprint's coverage in my area.
They have given me 6 phones, and I haven't paid my bill in 3 months, since they keep giving me credits since they cant figure out the problem. I really could care less, I just want my 3g to work correctly.
So no, it really DOESN'T pay to complain. I have spent hours of my life complaining about this, and have gotten nowhere.
Same thing here. My 3G data speeds crapped out last November also. Sprint has no idea what the problem could be. I think everybody who is experiencing slower than normal data should raise serious hell with Sprint every single day. This is NOT a coincidence. I suspect something fishy is going on and I'm not going to pay these premium unlimited data fees for terrible 3G data speeds! I'm going to demand Sprint to credit my account 50% every month until they turn 3G back on like it used to be. If not I want out of my contract. Either way I can easily sell my two EVO's on Craigslist to cover the etf's.
I can't watch Sprint TV, YouTube, or stream any online video content. Web browsing is VERY slow. My data speeds have gone from 1.6mbps to .30kbps since last November and now I never get speed results faster than .76kbps on a good day. It seems like Sprint flipped a switch one day out of the blue and data speeds went to **** ever since.

What happened was more people got on the data network and Sprint hasn't invested in capacity like Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T has to support more 3G data traffic.

As we all know, HTC and Sprint borked downloads for apps like Rhapsody, Mog, Thumbplay.
I recently ran across the subject and i found a fix. It is very simple.
1. Get your MSL, There are many ways, call Sprint, Download the app MSL Reader from the market, CDMA workshop
2. After you have your MSL go to your phone and type ##3282#
3. Click Edit Mode
4. Click Advanced
5. Scroll down to HTTP PD Proxy Port & HTTP PD Proxy Address
6. Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to 0 (zero)
7. Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to 0.0.0.0
8. Go enjoy Downloads and a .20-.60 mbps increase in 3G speeds!
-All credit to original finder of this fix, i am just passing it along and found the speed increase. Also when you flash a new rom it will back to old settings so remember to re-apply and it wont make you more vulnerable to anything.

The Proxy changes do indeed help. Be sure to give them a try. That being said. my 3G and 4G data speeds are roughly half of what they were four months ago (Baltimore market). The only thing that has not changed is my RSSI or signal strength which comes in at -62.00 dBm every day, all day. The Rx signal to noise ratio has been reading "Not ready" for the past couple of months. What happened to it? How do I calculate CINR without this part of the equation?
I've complained numerous times about my poor signal coverage and pour 3g and ay first they gave me a airvana airave unit which really doesn't work to well with the evo..... but at least they did something....
I have an Airwave on the way. Sprint has also credited a month's bill yet again. Let's hope Sprint/Clear can get their collective acts together soon.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
For slow 3G speed, an Airvana is not the answer for the simple fact that it hooks into your existing broadband connection.. you could just get a WiFi router.
That's what I told them. They said it was an "Airwave 2.0" and acts like a repeater of the 3G signal. Either way, it is of no cost to me. It does show a willingness of Sprint to work with me, even if the proposed solution is no solution.

It's obvious the more people who start using smartphones will start to slow down the service, but its the same with Comcast internet as much as I hate it. The companies all get u with the little filler words "up to". The speeds are not and never will be garunteed, at least not in the near future. Let's just hope these clowns actually give us TRUE 4g speeds in the next few years(70-100Mbps) as the technology grows.
Not 100% true. My company says up to as well, but its only allowed to be 5-10 percent off that speed, otherwise they send someone out.

I mean there is wiggle room. But when a company says 20Mbps and u only get 13, u r within that range u are talking about. I know Comcast, if u pay for 20mbps service, u can be getting 12 and they can do nothing about it on their end. It's because some units share a single.signal, same with cell towers, the more people using , the slower it'll be. And grandma and grandpa are starting to get smartphones, so it'll keep getting slower unless sprint stays on top of their game.

I've gone from amazing 3G reception to constant dropouts and I work downtown Chicago across from the Sears Tower...I have no idea what has happened but being connected to 3G is hit or miss.
They also sent me an airave, which did indeed help in my home. But that does nothing outside of my home. Also, if the 3g works with the airave, that should mean that there is no problem with the 3g radio, so its not a hardware problem, but a network problem.

I dont think this is the problem. As I stated earlier, two of my friends have evo's, and side by side, their two get normal speeds, while mine gets crap. Also, in the sprint store, I tested their display evo, just fine, and a few other random phones, all were fine.

I live in the north subs and my parents are downtown Lake n Deerborn, and my parents phones have been crap lately too. Maybe sprint is over emphasizing the 4G downtown(much faster there then where I'm at) and could be messing w 3G speeds. Probably not the exact case but I can see sprint concentrating highly on 4G where it is abundant and short changing 3G a little bit.

Wow i really do want this phone badly. But i'm just so afraid of sprints 3g coverage. I can barely watch a you tube video now. Anything that involves data sucks. What good is a phone if the coverage is horrable. Plus now they are really going to get hammered with to many people on the network for them to handle. Anyone else afraid of this?

I posted this in another thread but it applies here too. I get crappy 3G in my area and no 4G. They are so focused on bringing 3D phones but we can't even upload/stream regular vids to YouTube with their ****ty network. Why not roll out 4G in more cities and beef it up first? T-mobile is turning up the heat with 40mb in a few cities. This proves that sprint could turn it up as well if they wanted to.

I do wish that the new Evo did have the LTE radio, as rumored, but I get 5Mbps in my apartment on 4G, so I'm not going to complain too much. And I have no issues with my 3G in this area, either.
The thing of it is guys, is what are our options? AT&T-Mobile or Verizon. Both with data caps, sub-par customer service(at least from my experience with the GF's iphone) and high rates. There's really no other choice.
That being said, sprint absolutely needs to step up their network. My evo will never connect to 4G. i can be sitting in downtown Dallas, TX, right in the middle of the alleged 4G coverage area and never connect. Its worthless.
I've never had an issue with 3G. Wimax is another thing. It's mostly good but I hardly use it for anything. I'm almost always in Wifi when I want to download a big file anyway. Pretty sure they are going to eventually add LTE support to their towers since Wimax is ok for cheaply blanketing an area in Wifi-like coverage but isn't so great in big buildings and they are dependent on Clearwire's oversubscribed network.
For all the talk of "why are they worrying about 3D phones and stuff like that", they need to stay up on the flashy new handsets because that is what gets them subscribers. This is their chance to really make or break their company with the playing field narrowing soon. AT&T proved with the iPhone that folks will put up with all kinds of crap for a must-have handset so they need to keep putting out exclusives that stand out in the market in order to stay attractive to customers.
Moving to another company would cost me a lot more per month and add a data cap so I am not going anywhere soon. I used to have T-Mobile to fall back on if Sprint ever pissed me off but with them being bought up, it's time to double down on Sprint.
Since when does VZW have a data cap? And I dont mean some data cap that "may" come at some point down the road. At this point the data is still unlimited.
I live in KC, which is basically saying the Sprint HQ (overland park is a division of KC) and the service here could def be better. 3g is no too bad, unless you go to Overland Park. Which is funny, because your IN the campus, and service blows. 4g... you pretty much have to be downtown to really make it "better" than 3g. I too find it odd that t-mo can ramp up 3g speeds to topple our 4g. Co worker has tmo and he dominates me in d/l speed. Somehow for him that equates to his mytouch slide 4g being better than my evo, but then again he does have a wicked self idolize-ing issue.

Ok guys, relax. It's one of two things if you are getting slow 3g speeds.
First, Sprint is actually growing again. In some areas it's growing so much that the existing network is at capacity. It's being addressed.
Or, it's a bug with some phones on 3.70 or 3.70 based ROMs. It's being addressed in the next update (not sure if it's going to be gingerbread or not)

Not disagreeing at all with your points, but the max capacity is what the op is saying he's/she's afraid of. I've seen extremely slow coverage expansion of 4g in KC, while other carries have been going hard at it. It's doubtful they are expanding 3g much anymore since 4g is the "new baby." I like Sprint don't get me wrong, but if the op is more concerned with coverage, and the fact that we face $10 a month for 4g coverage, he may very well be better off with another carrier.
You all act like Sprint could revamp their entire network overnight if they wanted. I know for fact they are working on it, and I see signs of improvement all the time. I can get 2Mb downloads now on 3g in several locations in my city where 2-3 months ago I was lucky to get 200k. Maybe they could make people happier faster in the short term by taking shortcuts, but it looks like they're doing it right. So have patience or gtfo.

Well if it's ok in your city then that should be ok for everyone worldwide then. Try growing up before posting please.

Since when does VZW have a data cap? And I dont mean some data cap that "may" come at some point down the road. At this point the data is still unlimited.

lol there unlimited, but we can and have canceled customers for using more then 5 gb a month without a tethering plan unlimited?

Supposedly Sprint also has a "cap." Never seen it myself, but that "rumor" has gone around a bit.
I feel the exact same way. My 3g is terrible, I get anywhere from 200-700 MAX DOWN and about 400 UP. No 4g at all. :/

Try growing up?? WTF??? Did you not click on the link to see that I was trying to provide some hope for people that are not in a good data area?
I did not even say it was ok in my city... I said there are signs of improvement and there are places that are great. I was just trying to help people out who think the network sux everywhere and Sprint is not doing anything about it anywhere... because that is wrong. They are working on it diligently.
Perhaps my "have patience or gtfo" comment was a little rude, but that sums up the situation here. The network sux. It's getting better. If you can't wait for the improvements, complaining on xda is not going to do anything for you.

Urgh Sprint...

I was on Verizon for years and my wife talked me into a Sprint family plan. Good rates, nice phones...though sure, EVO looks tight, nice specs and is a fantastic phone. My wife purchased an epic 4G. Both are rooted and running very nice programs. My problem is the data is 100% garbage compared to Verizon in every way. I am located in Warner Robins, GA and if it wasn't for WiFi i would be lost. My friend purchased a Thunderbolt I rooted for him and in the same area side by side he was getting 2.5mb dl speed and I was barely at 800kb. What gives? Do they not make enough to give good coverage? I avg 300kb at best. Some place are better but never above 1.3mb! Why can a company sell such appealing phones and yet have such terrible data? Anyone else feel this way? I get cell service and can send texts but working at Robins afb and the abysmal signal is really making me want to jump ship. Verizon doesn't have the phones I want though. I like HTC. I have for many years. HTC, you make a kick ass product, just wish you would start using a kick ass carrier or Sprint start actually putting money into their Damn network and bang some towers out around here. Grrrr

Lol yeah I'm in Atl(gwinnett county) and I get ok speeds. Even 4g at times but I usually stick to my wifi when available to save battery. I'd say chock it up to being in the sticks out in Warner robins lol jk. Data speeds arnt the greatest but its worth having the phone due massive amounts of dev support. The thunderbolt is a great phone though. Pretty much a cousin of the evo execpt they get bent over and raw dogged for pricing compared to sprint. Just my opinion though
Verizon is absurdly overpriced...but they deliver the goods! Guess that's what u get for cheaper service, just that! Cheaper service. If they would drop better data coverage I could handler it better
I wish I could 300... most of the time it is around 50. Been like this for a year in this area.

Not the case with cheaper service, Thats what you get for not living in a major city?
Los Angeles is nicely blanketed with wimax - So we are paying less than verizon customers here and getting around 8mb down on 4G and average 700k on 3G, good enough for me
Sprint gives me around 100-400kbps down depending on the time of day.

O come on LA really there's only a few Citys (12~20)on Earth that compare to LA.
In WI 3G sucks ass 100k most of the time. To me its like having a flashback to the netzero & free aol days on a 56k modem lol. I left sprint years ago because they sucked in WI and then I was in Ohio with "No Bar" went to Verizon for 6 years. Then last fall I wanted an Epic so I moved back to Sprint (back in WI) and I found out that they did not do one single thing to upgrade there network that an end user would see as to data speeds. Booooooooooooooooo! Sprint :-(

Yeah i know they have great service....for only a few damn places! Lol feel like a t mobile customer
I never get over 200k 50-70% of the time.
Yeah i def hear ya.... Fricken speeds suck here in Green Bay. Idk what it is, but for the last week I've only been getting 500kb download speed. Before that i could hit like 1.2 mb... I've been to lazy to call and ***** and they would just have me do everything i have done already.... Speed fix and pri update etc... Def not worth the price in switching for me tho

They are working on it. Hopefully we see the results sooner rather then later.
Sprint has no cash to improve this stuff really, LTE tests, clearwire hell... yeah it's going to be bumpy for a while.

i feel you man. i'm in the Saint Louis, MO area and i'm lucky if i get 200k down. and just like you, i like HTC, so i think as soon as HTC puts out a kick a$$ phone for Verizon, i jumping ship.
I just don't get why they're so broke. It's like there's a bunch of 16 yr olds blowing all the money on pot and alcohol running the company.

i know right
i realize that they aren't as big as Verizon or ATT, but come on... their 3g speed is just pathetic. and it's only going to get worse if they just keep adding better and better phones to their network, which is already on it's knees.
you guys are funny i live in the sticks with 2-3 bars tops 3g but i avg 1-1.4mbps dl and .6 or better up..and id take slower speeds over gettin assraped for NONunlimited data. i've dealt with the big v when they bought alltel and totally ****ed service for me, i lost calls in record numbers, support went to ****. we have verizon home wifi yea im gonna personally ram that up someones ass they refuse to give us faster service tho the next town literally 4 houses down gets their top package 20 or better mbps we get 3.....**** VERIZON ADOLF RUN STUPID ASSES THEM AN ATT OUTTA BUTTFUCK THEIR WAY OFF THE PLANET

Clearwire's TDD-LTE rolling out in early 2013. Any one think it will be epic

Link:http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/26/...-new-york-city-chicago-seattle-san-francisco/
Yes thank you clear, I will be rocking unlimited TDD LTE in 2013. Eat that TWC who can't give any good upload speeds.
2013 Is my lucky year.
Is any one else waiting for this?
clearwire is known to throttle like a summabeach.
Omg awsome now i can enjoy lte dialup speeds yay

I've gotten a clearwire signal before on a sprint evo 3d. It wasn't very reliable.
But obviously that isn't this new LTE stuff they are rolling out. Hopefully it is more dependable than the wimax signal. Because that is terrible. I was in Kansas City for a week (sprints backyard) according to their map in the heart of wimax coverage and never got better than 5mbs down and the signal would drop every few minutes. And that was with me standing outside.
Its the same spectrum so enjoy it outdoors n pray nothing walks by

My worst fear may indeed become true now. I can see it Now "Sprint 4gLTE powered by clear" Being someone who lives only two blocks from the main tower for my entire "Grater Metro Area" Clear service is NOT that great at all in my personal and professional opinion.
I honestly don't know how clear is even still around. All of my experience with them was awful.
I will tell you TWC is awful and I will be jumping on this just for even with 100 to 1 odd's this will suck becuase TWC is the lowest of the low isp's, but they don't care becuase they are a "bit" better than option #2. I don't want to even go in to why they sucked. Only AOL sucked more than "option #2". I pay for 10/1 and I get 2.5/1 with 58-60% packet loss and 45-60 ping. My LTE phone can get better ping than that. And becuase I got it fixed it can blow it away in over all speed. If I could I would use it for home internet, but the battery life on the phone sucks big time.
All I hope is verizon did not fix there "issue" like TWC or I will be pissed.
Point: I am screwed when it come's to ISP's vs what a lot of you can get hooked up with: FIO's,comcast, and so on. ( Yea I said it, I don't even get comcast that how much were I live sucks with ISP's.)
I would pay $500 in a heartbeat for verizon to lay a fiber opic cable to my house and give me fio's if it was that easy. I would get the highest 150/35 plan if thats what it took for them to do it, but they will not.
So as you can tell I will take ANY shot for better speeds right now.
