Why was the DK17 leak locked?

Sorry if this thread is point-less.
Well I was wondering why the leaked DK17 thread locked?(It was posted by kain I think?) Is there something wrong with the leak?

No, not that one. Kain posted the full tarball last night. I downloaded it, but it seems all traces of the thread are gone now.

It was pulled down because it contained employee info. I don't plan on re-leaking it for the same reason. I'm running the ACS version right now myself.

It really does not contain any sprint employee information unless someone can show proof it does they only name in it is the name of the samsung employee who machine built the tar file. If you can prove it send it in a pm.

Not to mention that if you flash the tar you will have to reinstall clockwork. Plus the released froyo ROMs are already rooted and de-odexed.

I haven't personally checked it this time, but this should be just the source, and you will not be able to just ODIN it, it would need to be compiled first.

I'm sure the Samsung installer will be posted at some point today like they did on 2/21, that will have the ODIN file in it. I don't have the website bookmarked where they posted it though :/

I'm assuming that this is still going to be ECO5/FroYo based, am I correct? I remember back in the EE03 Pre-Release thread, one of the ACS members saying that SRF releases are not, and will never be based on leaks. Seeing as EE19 hasn't officially been called official, at least to the best of my knowledge, I think I am answering my own question... Prove me wrong?

Loving SFR 1.1.1 can't wait for the new goodness I'm sure 1.2 will bring

Yes it is based off of ec05! Acs doesn't build on leaks.

Yea i think 1.1.1 was ready a long time ago but K0 didn't want to release it until he flashed it... they just released it late and was probably alrready working on 1.2

I know you meant this as a joke, but musclehead has a good point. There have been a couple of new recoveries lately. I can see the wave of questions regarding the recovery. I am not ripping anyone. Its just the way it is around here.

The only problems I had with 1.1.0 was the random "locking up" but that was fixed.

Any news from SamFirmware regarding September leaks?

In the past we've been getting about 2 leaks a month from SamFirmware, one mid-month and one end of month. With the ides of September coming up I was wondering if anyone has been in contact with them? (I don't have a twitter account or I'd tweet them myself.
Hoping for EI09
Or is everyone just so burned out on leaks that it just doesn't matter any more?

Ill hit them up, but I think they said August was the last minth of leaks for the D700 because builds were updated too often. Ill lost back when I hear back from them

That thing has awful battery life.
As for the leaks go, Zanderman asked a while back and Samfirmware tweeted back "Maybe the end of the month" (of September)
So maybe a new leak in two weeks hopefully.

I spoke with Samfirmware and they'll look for the tar.md5 for EI22 after they finish setting up the new site. Not ideal, I know, but at least it's something. If I hear and exact date I'll let you know.

correct...modem will work fine but the kernel is a froyo kernel and will not work on gingerbread
