Dump Prophet/M600/S200 ROM : How-To ???

Hi,
I just bought a French Orange SPV M600 yesterday and before making anything on it (upgrading, installing softwares, unlocking SIM, etc) I'd like to dump the ROM and store it in a safe place in order to be able to restore my phone if ever it comes to "brick" state
I read a lot today about that, using mtty, romupdate, bootloader mode etc...but I can't achieve to do it...
1- I kill activesync
2- I put my phone in bootloader mode (camera button + soft reset) and I get the color stripes fine
3- I connect my USB cable, I got the status-message "USB" on the phone screen = OK
4- I launch mtty, enter \\.\blablabla001 as port to connect to = OK
5- this is where nothing works anymore : typing D2S in the console gives an error msg (bad command, type h or ? for help) Something I noticed and being quite weird : I don't have "USB>" as a command prompt but "CMD>"...
6- even typing h or ? makes nothing, I get the same error msg :? The only recognised command is "usb" and the output message is then "already connected to USB"
Is this due to a bad software version ? (I use mtty 1.42)
Is it a SPV M600 incompatibility ? (too recent ?)
Has anybody achieved to dump such a ROM on SD-Card ? If yes, how please ?

Use r2sd all
this will backup the device to a sd card but ALL DATA on the card WILL BE LOST!!! .
However this command will only work if the phone is cid unlocked.

Hi, thx for your reply.
I tried also r2sd all and I get an error message saying I can't. (something like "authorized level...blabalbla)
Then I unfortunately guess my SPV M600 is CID locked :-(
I hope it will never badly crash before I can achieve to find a full-backup-restore solution...
Already happened once and I had to wait ages for getting it repaired by service-support... If only I had a ROM backuped somewhere I could restore the device in its "factory" state without bothering trying cheating it...
I've read some threads and it would seem that Qtek S200 as well as HTC Prophet or iMate Jamin are CID unlockable...but not the Orange one :-(

Bu what is the program that u've been using to dump the rom ?? Link and name please...

With the phone powered off hold volume down and power button to boot into Bootloader screen (Red Blu Green White),plug in usb cable to computer and into the phone(it will say "serial" at the bottom ( let it install the qualcomm cdma driver) Then "serial" will change to "USB" at the bottom of the phone screen, extract the ROM.zip file from download link above and click the Rom update utility EXE and follow the instructions from there.

Ok I need you help please, I have the same problem with my htc 7 surround of AT&T, but I didn´t use the tool "unlock by XTC clip". My phone worked well, but the last week, it freezing in the logo "HTC" and don´t pass from here; it do not start wp7.
I use this tool that you give from megaupload but when the program verify the image version of my htc - it is in blank, my phone phone don´t have image version- I don´t know what I have to do. I use everything to install a new windows phone 7 operating system to my htc surround.

Did everything correctly, but still cannot sim-unlock with gfree

Thanks all! i borrow an att simcard from my bro, put it on my phone and it work perfectly. ^^

- i try to sim unlock my phone by using gfree. And here what i did
* put gfree file into /data/local (success)
* set permission chmod 777 gfree (success)
* run command : ./gfree --sim_unlock

p/s: to make sure gfree is working, i tried these 2 commands, and they worked.
- ./gfree --version : it showed version 0.2
- ./gfree --cid 11111111: it changed my cid to 11111111 ( before, my cid is tmo...something)

"SIMLOCK" is supposed to be shown in the menu - it's just a menu item, and says nothing about the actual SIM lock state.

If gfree worked your sim is unlocked

Look, the problem might be you dont have the external sd card. Something like that happened to me 3 weeks ago. I didnt have the external sd on the phone and when that chain of commands are send they need the sdcard(external). Do it and youll see that it will work. Also dissable fastboot if its on.

In the boot loader, choose the System Info option, if cid is 11111111, then it worked. Judging by the info you provided already, it worked.

Try putting a different sim in and see if it's unlocked. Always try every easy thing possible before thinking your stumped

This doesn't change a thing in my answer. As others already wrote, this doesn't have anything to do with actual SIM lock state.

I used this method to sim unlock ny phone and it works just fine. From what I have seen your sim unlock was a success now you just need to test another carriers sim in your phone! I have been using att on this for months now only problem is 2g only but it still works

[Q] Wont boot, wont take factory ROM.

Hi guys.
After triying everything i know about and searching on lots of forums and google, i decided to give good'ol XDA a shot.
Anyway, someone from my family asked me if the phone he just got from his brother would take whats app. It was a HTC HD Mini with the stock WM6.5, so i said "i don't think so", "but hey, you know what? i can install Android in it, and then you could use it like any other Android device!"
...yeah, good idea, for sure.
So i searched, and decided to follow a guide posted on HTCMania.com, wich was the translation of a ROM thread here, on xda, this one: LINK
I followed everything, and i got to the step where you have to execute a .bat file called "install LK.bat". A CMD window appeared, but something went really wrong. Or not, i dont know, the fact is that, suddenly, the phone's screen changed from black with green texts, to this:

It will stay like that, no matter what you do, say, pray, etc... . In order to turn off the device, you have to remove the battery.
So i investigate a little more, and try to upload the stock WM ROM via SSPL. I do it in the bootloader menu (what a wonderfull sight after all the good years that my beloved HTC Prophet gave me...).
FAIL!!!! It says that i can go home and cry, because of an error called "ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID"
Wonderfull! so i start looking for every ROM i can think off, factory, cooked, everything. I try to install them via SD card naming the ruu "PHOTIMG", and then turning on the device with the bootloader, it starts loading it, "Loading..." "Checking..." "0028002 not allow". And back to the bootloader tri-color screen.
At this point, i dont know what to do, my phone is Spanish, the service provider is Movistar, but the phone is unlocked (i dont know if it was unlocked by someone, or if it never was locked in the first place).
There are a couple of SPA ROMs outhere, one is generic, and the other is Vodafone. Not to mention, neither of the two works.
PLEASE, if someone can help me in any way, it will be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for answering, but that page should sue me for excessive bandwidth usage, LOL. I've already tried lots of ROMs from there, but not a single one would get past 1%, they all spit out the same error: 294: Invalid vender ID

[HOW TO] Get rid of that annoying sticky bit fastboot!

So i was searching around and couldnt find actual answers on how to get rid of that annoying ass sticky bit factory fastboot menu when phone powers up. So i decided to take matter in my own hands and learn a little bit about adb and fastboot commands etc.. Typed in some commands in a certain order and BOOM sticky bit no longer gets in the f-ing way ^^ this should work on any android powered phone seeing how it doesnt go to any specific phone. So far i learned that it works on the xpirea (how ever you spell it) and the droid razr m consumer and dev edition. so here we go.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE USB DEBUGGING ENABLED

STEPS
1. Power up your phone completely.
2. extract the folder in the android.zip file to your local disk. just drag the folder to local C: or whatever your main HD is
3. hold left shift and right click on the folder and click on pen command window here"
4. plug in your phone if you havnt done so already
5. in the command window type: adb devices ( this makes sure your phone is connected and it'll show its serial number under List of devices attached.
6. once it shows the serial number type in these commands ( these are in order)
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
and walla phone will reboot like when you first got it ^^

Your links are broken.

This seems cool. But I don't know what menu you are talking about, perhaps more clarity, as I'd like to know what causes this menu to be shown and if I am just missing it somehow. Curious to know if this fix may aid me in the future. As probably are some other users.
Also probably helpful for you to note that fastbooylt erase userdata will clear user settings.
